I love this place! They are so helpful and cheap! Most of the time when I go in there as a newbie bike owner they make some tweaks and don’t charge anything. Today, I needed some more work and they said it would be ready in theee days but then it was ready in two hours and it was only $20. LOVE THEM. At Helen’s there is always a line and the prices are much higher.
Great service with really friendly and accomodating owner
Jose is the best mechanic in LA. Every time he works on my bike I always know its going to be race ready and work flawlessly. He also returns your bike super quick (unlike other local shops). His shop had everything I needed to start in triathlons and I appreciate his time/guidance on what products I needed to start out with. Highly recommend using this shop.
Jose, the owner of the shop, is polite, patient, and honest. He not only provides great services and sells high-quality products, he also provides a lot of great advice. Ill super excited his store is right next to my work office!
Jose, the owner is just awesome! I bike daily to work from West Hollywood about 16 miles daily. My bike suffers a lot, but I can always count on Jose to fix it up. Hes not only fast and professional, but hes not going to rip you off. His pricing is really amazing and hes always able to fix the problem. His store is clean and nice. Hes dedicated and I really would be lost w/out Zone 3. I really really am glad I found them 1.5 years ago. I will never go anywhere else. You should go there if you need any work done.
Really great service and good pricing. Please support your local businesses!
Great shop with some beautiful Italian bikes. Reasonable prices also. I have been to most of the shops in SM and this one is at the top of the list for me. Need a bike fitting, no problem.
Awesome staff who are very knowledgeable and prices are extremely reasonable. They always get me back on the road quickly and always friendly with advice and clear answers. I wont bother going any where else...
I received a folding bike shipped to me with a badly bent derailleur from shipping. I brought it to Jose at Zone 3 shortly before closing time and he was able to bend it back and perfectly align it within 10 minutes. He also installed my light for me with some modification. I could not be more pleased with the service and will bring my other bikes here.
This is a good shop whether you need sales or service. And they sell and service all bikes. As for that previous post by Raul....total B.S.
Jose is always reliable, fair, and forthcoming about the pros and cons of each piece of equipment inquired about. Bicycle tune-ups are expertly done at a fair price. There is no upselling here, rather a genuine effort to tailor the equipment or services to the customers needs and budget. For instance, when I needed new handlebars for my triathlon bike, he first offered the lower price but most reliable option that would have actually outperformed the ones I was replacing. Only when I further inquired about a carbon fiber higher-end product did he go through and explore those options. Every other shop I have been to in the area always tries to push for the immediate big sale rather than the long-term needs of the customer. Joses no-nonsense, unrushed approach engenders the kind of trust that keeps customers coming back.
These guys are wizards. I came in with 2 bikes, one of which had been neglected in a garage for 2 years and had innumerable problems, the other one with a snapped-off pedal, brake issues, and a persistently loose handlebar system that kept sliding over and sending me into traffic. In the course of 72 hours they transformed both into essentially brand-new bikes. They even buffed up and polished the chrome sections, scrubbed all the grime off and replaced a couple of tiny screws that I hadnt even noticed, and all for less than half the price of what I had been loosely quoted elsewhere.
Needed a few small pieces of triathlon gear. Jose was patient and helped me choose exactly what I needed. Fair prices.
Went to have my sealed bearings replaced on my racing wheel. Price was much better than Helens or performance. Will come back.
This has to be the worst bike shop i have ever been to. The customer service is horrible. i called to find out the price to change my inner tube for my bike, they had quoted me 12 dollars including labor. Not only did they charge me an extra 6 dollars when i got there for labor, he charged my card 4 times. I usually go to Wheel World Bicycles where the people are actually nice and have good customer service. The only reason anyone would go this place is if they want to the fraudulent charges on their card, or if you want to get hustled. I will never step foot at this place ever again. Their prices are ridiculous, horrible customer service, and will over charge your card. Be warned!
I had gotten 4 quotes on a wheel repair when I first walked into Zone 3. I couldnt believe it when jose quoted his price! It wasnt 25% less, Not even 50% less, his price was 75% less than the lowest previous quote! Then When I went back to pick up my wheel He charged me $5.00 less then he quoted me and did a great job! thanks Jose!
I took my bike to Jose to have a cleaning and to find out why it wasnt shifting correctly. Jose explained in detail what the cleaning and tune-up would entail. He called me when he determine what two other bike mechanics failed to see -- that my shifters had gone dry from lack of use (yeah the bike had sat for awhile) and indeed it wasnt shifting the way it should. He also took the time and showed me my old chain and how far it had stretched and let me know that by replacing it now I could save money on not needing to also replace my cassette. My bike is sparkling again and shifting is as smooth as silk. I can no longer use my bike as an excuse when I get dropped.I love this store - so bright, clean and airy - and Jose is the only mechanic Ill ever use.
My bike had broken a few spokes and a severely worn rim so I walked in hardly expecting to find a replacement wheel/tire for less than a months rent; if youve been inside the place, it definitely seems to cater to a more affluent clientele. Even so, I walked in and asked the guy behind the counter for help. Being a novice at bike mech in general, he did not hesitate to correct my misconceptions and to clarify my confusion regarding parts, etc. Where most people, I feel, would have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge ( Im a woman and in my experience most seem to look down upon or disregard my capability when it comes to this kind of stuff), he very patiently educated me and answered all my questions. I left the shop with newfound knowledge and a new rear wheel set for a what I felt was a ridiculously great price. The cassette I purchased was decently priced as well; in all I left a VERY satisfied customer. Highly recommend this place to new and experienced cyclists alike. Fantastic customer service!
