Startlingly uninformed staff with 3rd wave prices and 2nd wave quality. I was told the beans they were using originated from Australia despite the package stating they were sourced from Central and South America. I ordered an iced latte just to make sure and there is a definite El Salvador like flavor. No single origins available. The menu near the cashier is also horribly formatted and confusing. One star because at least they didnt get my order wrong.

EDIT Aug03/21: seems that the food hall Adelaide is located in has closed down.I’m picky about coffee. Would have expected a place with an Aussie name would know what a flat white is. First caution: came in small and large. A flat white by definition is 6 oz. though it’s almost always made giant and overmilked in the US. So we emphasized ordering a *small* - and got a 12 oz. latte. No foam, little coffee, just warm milky drink. It wasn’t bad for a latte - but I didn’t want a latte.

This place was cute! It’s located inside the Gallery on Third St Promenade and opens at 8am so it’s good for me to get a caffeine fix. They give you a discount if you work in Santa Monica, and it was nice of the barista to proactively offer that. There’s coffees, lattes, and teas along with a couple of breakfast items. I really liked the honeybee latte I got ($5 for small, $6 for large). It comes with the option of oat, almond, or whole milk, although of course it tastes best with whole milk. The latte was lightly sweetened and the taste of honey peeked through. The service was friendly and the drinks are good - will definitely put this on my rotation of coffee shops in Santa Monica.

Located at the heart of the Santa Monica Promenade, the Adelaide Coffeebar is 1 of restaurant collective all brought together under 1 roof. Welcomed warmly by the bright pink and colored candy shop in the front and balcony space above for perfect people watching, this is my go-to spot to get amazing coffee (try the Honeybee Latte!) but study, meet new interesting people, and have great conversations on a date. What sold me was the environment theyve made. Its a very intriguing space with great seating throughout which includes outdoor seating, a 2nd floor balcony with glass guardrails to overlook the promenade, and a bar toward the middle. Love this spot!

Great little coffee bar in the middle of the SocialEats food hall on the first floor of The Gallery. Right at the heart of Third Street Promenade.This coffee bar is unique because they serve coffee by day and wine by night. Ive only come during the day so I can only vouch for the coffee but they do have an extensive wine list.I tried both the cold brew and the honeybee latte. Go for the cold brew if you need a strong pick me up and I recommend the honeybee latte if youre looking for more sweetness and flavor!They also have some food items like breads, bagels, croissants and cereal/fruits. Overall a good spot to relax and have a coffee away from the business of the Promenade.

Not face-friendly.

For an Australian style coffee bar, the coffee was bitter. Wouldnt last 10 minutes in Sydney or Melbourne, maybe 15 in Brisbane. 2nd star because it is better than Starbucks, but that isnt hard.

Terrible coffee service this morning. Flat white originally came in a large cup with no foam, then when I asked for a replacement, it was in a smaller cup but still just hot milk and no foam whatsoever. Barista was not friendly or receptive to feedback. Avoid this one!
