Great service. Delivered on time, completely repaired, under warranty, as promised. Nominal fee I was happy to pay since I couldnt even get an appointment at Apple.
HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. Let’s start with, the guys who worked there were not wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic, whilst being around a pregnant woman. HIGHLY irresponsible. They scammed me out of almost $2000, for a repair, that didn’t even work after. THEN, I brought it back two weeks ago, and they still haven’t given it back to me/ still haven’t repaired it…. Please do not give them your money, it literally cost less money for me to buy a new computer then it did to have this repaired, and it still isn’t repaired!!!They also, are extremely hard to get a hold of and don’t answer my calls. If I could give -0 stars I absolutely would.
Very friendly staff. Were able to address all of my concerns. Highly recommend!!!
I booked an appointment to have them look at my MacBook. It was an emergency, and this place was one of few with open slots. I call Apple ahead of time to ensure I can get all the services offered as if I was walking into an Apple store. He ensured me that if anything needed to be done, they can do it all and it’s covered by my warranty. The technician told me what was wrong and what needed to be done, a complete iOS reinstall… which was covered by my warranty. They then tell me it’s going to be 100 dollars. I ask him why, and he says that it’s his service charge for that service. I told him it’s under warranty. The gentleman then calls the owner/manager out. The manager/owner, then tells me that it’s 100 dollars still. I ask him why, since this service is covered by Apple warranty. The manager instructs the employee to check the warranty. As he does, he then tells him and me, no matter what, the cost is 100. And if I wanted it “for free” then I would need to to the Apple store. I am not getting anything for free, I paid for this MacBook and it’s warranty is supposed to cover this. Horrible place. They just wanted to make money. I am glad I called Apple and they will be taking a look into their status and the complaints here also indicate the same. Money on gas wastednn and time wasted and parking fees wasted!
I brought my iMac in for a new hard drive and memory upgrade. The staff was very helpful and upfront about costs and was able to get my Mac back in record time. Special shout out to Eric for all his help!
Honest, fast, friendly - A hell of a lot better than any genius I’ve ever met at an Apple location.
Went in thinking I had to buy a new MacBook while Covid had closed all Genius bars, came out with a completely updated machine. Cannot say enough good things about Jonathan. He took my malfunctioning MacBook Pro and not only took it in for a recall repair, but informed me of other eligible fixes which wouldve cost me $1200. Happy customer.
Exceptional and prompt service on par with the Apple store.
Great customer service. Will start taking all my Apple products here from now on. Service turnaround time is exceptional and they are very transparent. I live in Torrance and will drive over here just for the service. Thank you guys for taking care of my 2014 Mac mini :)
Jonathan is an amazing manager! They were able to fix my iPhone 11 screen within two hours today and I had no issues! Very seamless process and Jonathan handled everything very well and very respectful of all customers. With all Apple stores closed right now during this Covid time within a 250 mile radius it is a great place to go! Highly recommended and they are very timely with working on your gadgets. This picture is what my phone looked like before he fixed it
This review is 100% focused on Uniteks communication with client. They took in my laptop (under Applecare warranty). They told me it would take 3-5 business days. Ok, no prob!During that time I have tried to contact the store over 20 times to get an update with no success. They dont answer the phone, they dont respond to emails. Just an endless loop of mellow jazz hold music.I finally got a hold of someone at their corporate office who suggested I should just drive over and see whats going on with my repair. What?! Im a working professional, and do not have that kind of time.I read through other Yelp and Google reviews and see that others are having the same issue. I think its an important issue that Unitek corporate needs to address. In the meantime, Ive called Apple who verified they couldnt get through either. Apple said this is unacceptable and they will be issuing a Challenge to the stores approved Apple verified status.I really hope that Unitek reads this and takes it to heart. Its frustrating enough to be without your main laptop for a week, but the lack of communication in 2021 is a dealbreaker for me.
Great experience!! Took my Mac book pro that was not charging and now it’s spot on !Would highly recommend this place !Thank you guys for fixing my computer !
I made an appointment to bring in my Mac Book for a battery issue. The guy asked for my computer to look at the serial #. He’s trying hard to force off the case and straight up brakes my case. His manager scolds him yet fails to even look at me in the eye to say sorry and see how they can make it up. They do on to tell me a battery replacement will cost $350 and I must leave my Mac there for 12 days without use. I decide to pass and then the guy gives me a cell phone charging station and tells me it’s worth more than my laptop case altho it does nothing as I now have to go buy a $45 case simply for walking into this store.
Took my device to get fixed here. Came back even more broken than before after three weeks. Took it back a second time and they told me it would be done in three days due to the inconvenience, but it took an additional three weeks. Brought it home for the second time and it was still broken. The third time this occurred they basically refused to help and offered no compensation or advice, other than to go somewhere else. Would absolutely not recommend this place ever. Also many of the workers in the back and even when they come to the front are NOT wearing masks!!!!
After sending in my computer for battery repair, I found an issue w/ my data backup (Dropbox *cough*) and contacted Unitek. They were able to give me the computer back ASAP so I could re-backup. It’s not their policy to do so, but they were friendly when I spoke w/ them and allowed me to take it to back it up (I just paid for the new battery part ahead of time but no diagnostic charge).Update: Unitek never called me back to replace the battery. I’ve tried calling the number they gave me on multiple occasions - it’s an automated line, no one has ever picked up. I’ve also emailed them - no luck. The only option is to drive there and ask them what’s up, but I don’t live nearby. So here I am, ~4 months out from my purchase, still dealing w/ the same broken computer despite having already purchased a new battery through Unitek (what they did with it, I don’t know)... Don’t give this place your business - they have a contract w/ Apple that seems to bring in most of their business but their customer service is bad to the point of failure. Speaking to this point, the manager also hung up on someone who was upset on the phone when I was there - I looked this over at the time, but now that I think about it, the person on the line wasn’t berating them (from what I could hear), just upset and confused.Second update: Resolved after visiting them in person so going to average it out to 3 stars. Honestly, though, it’s not acceptable to not answer one’s phone, return calls, or return emails. I shouldn’t have had to have made an extra trip in to see them. Computer appears fine, however, so that is good - was just a battery replacement though.
Unitek replaced my broken MacBook Pro screen ahead of schedule and for the amount quoted. Really grateful for their help.
Absolutely the most unpleasant experience in my life. The bald guy is very rude and will not help you unless he makes money enough to worth his time. He is taking advantage of this pandemic that Apple stores are booked with appts and people have no choice but come to this place. He is disgusting human being. Don’t come here!!!!!!!
I had an appointment and the gentleman who helped me was very kind and patient. Would definitely recommend to come here if you have issues with your Apple computer or if you want to purchase Apple related products. Im not sure if theres a parking lot but theres plenty of parking on the street.
I’ve trusted UniTek for 20 plus years. They’re reliably good and friendly.
Unitek is the best Mac Retailer boutique store that works directly with Mac. MUCH better than trying to go the 3rd street store.Turned in a laptop with cosmetic/graphics damage on Friday before the holiday weekend. Got it exactly in the time they said I would have it back. Basically feels like a BRAND NEW Computer.Thank you VERY MUCH Johnathan for your absolute professionalism. Will be back very soon.
First all workers no kind all something angry for why don’t no..! Costumer communication 30%Plus so expensive. I give my computer. Unitek said 1500$ mean if I pay that price unitek fix my computer. Than after I check local service. The guys said 250$. So fist need ask local store than after unitek maybe
So awesome. Great team, were able to run the diagnostic and quote a price for me within 24 hours. Brought it in Tuesday and took it home on Friday. I know nothing about technology, and they were able to answer all of my questions. Informative, but not condescending. Laptop is good as new. Thank you guys!
Dropped off one of our companies laptops with water damage. Paid $60 for a diagnostic to determine which components were damaged. When I asked for a diagnostic report with a breakdown of which components needed to be replaced and the cost of each, they told me they didnt create a report. I asked if they could tell me, to which they responded with we dont know which components are damaged because for water damage (which I informed them of) would be sent to Apple as a flat rate repair. I asked if they opened up the MacBook to take a look at it, and they said You told us it was water damaged so we didnt do that because it falls under Apples tier 4 flat rate repair cost. So, why did I have to pay $60 for YOU to repeat back to ME that the MacBook was water damaged, without you actually conducting a diagnostic that you charged me for? Whats the point?
Im very lenient with my rating, because its COVID-crazy times. I went to Unitek because the Third St Promenade was packed. Uniteks regular turn around time was 12-15 business days.Because I needed my laptop ASAP, I paid the $299 expedited fee. I picked my laptop on the 13th business day. Granted, it was finished on the 9th day, but I never got a confirmation, and didnt have the time to just go to the store to find out.Do not expect them to pick up the phone or to call you back if you leave a voicemail. Do not rely on their email notifications. I only received one and it didnt even have the work order approval document they claimed they emailed to me.I tried calling them and text messaging them, but they never replied. I finally was fed up and just went into the store to find out what was going on. Expedited service...I got it on the 13th business day. No notification, no communication, no way to reach them unless you walk into the store.6 hours after I went to pick up, I receive a text message informing me that my laptop was ready for pick up. 5 business days late.
I’ve had to take my laptop and phone in for services at UNITEK and I couldn’t be happier. Specially during the pandemic, they have communicated clearly with me and have been able to get my devices back to quicker than Apple. When I was in a jam and needed a new laptop, they had brand new Apple laptops in stock and I was able to get Apple care with it as well. Jonathan has been very helpful and caring during a very frustrating situation. Thank you, UNITEK!!
Terrible, terrible place. Took weeks to get a diagnosis. Guy calls me with zero knowledge about computers just says it’ll cost 1,000 dollars. I asked him a few questions he said “I have no idea.” What a joke. How are these guys certified apple care specialists ? This place is a joke.
If youre going there during the pandemic, note that they are ONLY servicing Apple products. There was nothing updated on their Google business page to reflect this. I called for 30 min after they opened and no pick up. I drove over there only to find out they wont service Lenovo products anymore. There was no reason given other than theyre not doing it during the pandemic. Would have been good to know if they just picked up the phone so I didnt waste a trip over there.
Apple Care made an appointment for me at this place. Once there I get this spiel about theyre being super busy, and they try using a scare tactic that it could take them up two weeks to replace a stuck keyboard key (under warranty). But then graciously suggest that if Id like a normal turnaround time of three days, I can pay them $299! I suggest you stay away from this place unless you enjoy feeling like youre being scammed. I wonder if Apple knows how these guys operate?
Initek is a premier Apple authorized repair shop and store. That me they really know what they’re doing as well as any Apple store. Even better, you don’t need to make a genius bar appointment - you just show up, and they’ll take good care of you right away.As a bonus, I accidentally left my backpack there on Friday at closing time. I had important medicine in it, and thought I would be in trouble when I got home and realized my mistake. Right then, theowner, Jonathan, called me and toldme he’s wait in his car while I came back to get it. It was rush hour, so it took me roughly 30 minutes to get there. He handed the backpack to me with a smile and wished me a good weekend. Now that’s good customer relations. And the repair? They did it in just 4 days, whereas the Genius Bar at the Apple Store told me it would take 7-10 business days to fix.Unitek is THE place to go for your Apple service and purchases.
Worst customer service ever. If I could give negative stars -5
Great repair shop with great customer service!!
Please do NOT take your device here. They promised to repair my laptop within 10-12 days, and after 27 days when I went to take my computer back fixed or not, they refused to give it back according to “Apple policy”. Then said if I wanted my unfixed laptop back it would cost $500. The man at the front desk not only lied to my face, but was trying to scam me for more money.Extremely unprofessional, and this is coming from someone who has never left a bad review my whole life.
I brought my MBP 13 in at the end of June. They gave me a 2 week estimate to repair. A few weeks later on July 16th, they told me my computer was ready for pick up. Upon arriving, they informed me that my computer was actually not fixed and that they did not actually test it after they finished their work. I wasted almost 2 hours driving there for nothing. I expressed my dissatisfaction for their lack of diligence and their employee Jonathan offered to deliver my laptop to me when it is actually finished being repaired. On July 21st, I got a call from Unitek telling me that my laptop would need to be sent in to Apple directly to be repaired. I ended up not getting my laptop back until August 1st, about 5 weeks after I dropped of my laptop. They did not deliver the laptop to me and they were extremely unresponsive by phone and email, so I had to go pick up my laptop myself instead of getting it delivered as they had offered. There is also some damage near where the screws are so I did not receive my laptop back in the condition I dropped it off.
I took my computer in there a couple of weeks ago. They told me I had water damage and would cost $400 for them to repair or $800 for Apple to repair. My computer in under warranty so they falsified the problem to try to get money. I knew there had been no water damage, because I just started really using the computer during the pandemic and I’m very careful. I sent my computer into Apple and it was a hardware problem that they fixed in less than 24 hours. No fee. Also the front desk people are not wearing masks...horrible situation all around!
Service is very bad ! Dorsa and some other folks doesnt even know how to treat customer. I paid for an invoice to replace my MacBook battery and its been 4 weeks but I didnt get any response back. And, when I called them, they put me on long hold of 20 minutes and said that the didnt find my invoice. After a long conversation with other employees, finally they got a catch of my invoice and they asked me to call back for an update on my invoice. Thats when I lost my patience and I asked to refund my money. Instead of refunding back, they asked to stop by at the store to get refund. This is the worst service I have got on behalf of APPLE products.
Frustrating experience. No guide lines for Covid protocol. People lining up with no appointments being taken before people with appointments. Given attitude and rudely told you have to stay in line when you simply ask for information and guidance as no one comes out to checkin people.
UNITEK IS AMAZING!!! They repaired my iMac super quickly and kept me updated through e-mail and text throughout the repair. Was really glad they were authorized by Apple and accepted my AppleCare plus. Theyre technicians really know what theyre doing and Im so happy I found them.
Jonathan Nazanin store manager is extremely rude no customer service skills seems to be prejudice. If you are looking to have a great experience with the individual who has your computer whom you may be trusting with your personal belongings I wouldn’t come here (ever.)
Absolutely fraudulent business! I took in a brand new MacBook Pro that was having charging difficulties due to a damaged charging cord. I asked them to plug the computer in to verify it was only the charging cord that was faulty and not the computer. After a 15 min charge the technician, I believe the owner, stated the device was damaged and I would need to be turned in for service. He stated the computer had to be backed up because there is a potential risk of data loss. He tried up sell me a brand new 1TB external HD needed for the backup and an additional $299 service charge which he stated was not, and would never be covered under the AppleCare program. He stated after the backup I would need to drop the computer off for 10-12 days for a diagnostic service, and that even still the computer may need to be replaced entirely. My gut sense was that this all seemed off so I took the computer to a different Mac repair service which confirmed it was simply a low battery and faulty charging cord.Absolute BS—never bring your computer here.
I came in with a laptop that wouldn’t power on. They said it was my choice whether to replace the motherboard or power supply. What?! I am not the repair expert, they are the ones who should have a recommendation. Hard pass.
Very bad, these people took FOREVER to fix a simple computer. They said 30 minutes, it took 5 days, 1 day every week. So annoying, and the staff is very rude and doesnt do quality work.
This shop has been a savior for me! Jonathan was knowledgeable and helpful in repairing my keyboard when it was sticking. I really appreciate his help. Thank you Jonathan!
Jonathon and brian made my day...
I have had the most unpleasant experience at the Santa Monica location.I dropped off my computer to be fixed on May 29th. There was a flashing folder with a question mark on it and I was told it could be fixed for $99. They told me the latest it would be ready was the 16th of June.I went into the store on the 16th to pick it up and they said it wasn’t ready. They said they ordered new parts for it because some parts on my model were recalled and they had no idea when the part would come in due to COVID shipping complications. No one called to tell me during this time that I was waiting for my computer that parts had to be ordered and I would have to wait longer for my computer. And I was given no information as to when my computer would be ready to pick up when I asked in the store.I have called every week since, twice a week, to check in on the status and each time I get told that they are still waiting for the “parts”. They can give me no timeline for when these will arrive.I asked if I could come pick up my computer since they fixed the software issue and then bring it back in when the new parts come in, but was told I would have to pay an extra $100 service fee. That is absolutely absurd.I haven’t had my computer now for 48 days. I was told by the manager of the store two weeks ago in the middle of the week that he would rush order the parts and have my computer to me by the end of that week. He said he would personally reach out to me to give me updates. I have heard nothing from him since.I called again today, and spoke to a woman who said she needed to speak to the manager about my issue and said he was away at lunch, she said she would call me back in less than an hour, and now two hours later I am still waiting.I tried to call back on my own, and no one is answering the phones. It is incredibly difficult to reach this location by phone. I often have to call up to 10 times just to get one person to answer.I am extremely disappointed and frustrated in how I’ve been treated by their employees. It has now been 48 days since I’ve had my computer that I need for work.It makes no sense to have my computer for this long, with no communication from their team to me to explain what’s going on, and assume that this is okay.I HIGHLY recommend NOT using this company for your computer needs.Worst experience I’ve ever had.
Incredible. They were helpful. Fixed my computer quickly and made it so incredibly easy. They communicated well and my machine is like new! Thanks so much!
Igor was excellent. Patient, polite, and extremely helpful.
Have had my computer in store for almost 2 weeks haven’t even told me if I have to pay out of pocket or if apple will repair under warranty... phone service is down and can never get ahold of anyone. I will change my review if they get in contact with me immediately.
Apple support scheduled my appointment with Unitek and I was so blow away by how friendly, efficient, and knowledgable. It was a much more pleasant experience than visiting the overcrowded Genuis Bar on the promenade. Also was happy that I didnt have to pay since my MacBook has AppleCare.
ABSOLUTE rip-off. These guys increase their prices once they know they have your business.I took my mac in here this week to get a display problem fixed, which was already a massive inconvenience for work. At first they were very friendly and reassured me that it could only be one of 3 problems, one being $250 for the display wire, one being $450 for and entire display replacement, or $60 for their diagnosis if it was part of an apple recall program (free repair).I requested to hear back the next day as I urgently needed a laptop for work, and they were charging $55 for a rental (they originally told me 45$ and changed it the second time i asked), and of course did not hear back from them. When I called, I found out that it was (of course) the most expensive option. When I asked them when my laptop would be done, it was like talking to a brick wall: instead of asking his manager or fellow employees, one of their employees continued to tell me he had no idea and got flustered, yelled at me, and then hung up on me.I finally got an answer about when I could get my laptop back, I was given a new price: $550. The extra $100 is from a labor fee that they wont mention to you up front. The total cost for this was $600, an entire $150 above their given price up front. Additionally, they list the part as costing $450, when in reality it only cost $360. This is due to another one of their undisclosed fees, that I had to heckle them to find out about.Overall, the service from this place was absolutely horrible, and their staff is completely unsympathetic and shamelessly overcharges for their service.Come here at your own risk, I personally felt like my laptop was being held ransom and the price to get it back was increasing by the minute.
Trash service, overcharged me at the last second at checkout, ended up paying double my quote, and they constantly leave fake reviews in here
Brought my computer here under warranty as I was having a very specific issue with AirDrop causing the entire computer to freeze. They kept my computer for two weeks after saying the repair would take less than seven days. When I finally got my computer back, the computer still had the EXACT SAME ISSUES. It is unbelievable that Apple considers this business a partner. I will do what I can to notify apple of the terrible quality of service here.
Despite the middling star rating and handful of negative reviews, this place is actually amazing. They’re the underdogs, the guys who do their best work when no one is looking. They’re the Bad News Bears of Apple-Certified repair.Shops like theirs have the same problem as others like it: sometimes, we’ve got to deliver bad news regarding something out of our control, and they don’t blame our customers for shooting the messenger when their needs can’t be met, but sites like Yelp seem to inherently invite people to take their issues out on a business more often than sing it’s praises. Despite the good work we do everyday, the truth is that anger is far more effective at getting someone’s pen moving. They do so much more- They save the data from your failing drive. They answer an hour’s worth of questions from a customer and ask nothing in return. They track down your computer after FedEx loses it, and if it can’t be found, they make damn sure Apple has a brand-spanking new one waiting for you the next day.Go there. Make an appointment. Give them a chance. You’ll be surprised.
Excellent service, worked with my schedule to find the best solution for my circumstance! Clean, organized store and professionalism equal to if not above what I’ve found at Apple stores.
SHADY BUSINESS - I dropped off my MacBook Pro over a week ago, and was told theyd immediately ship it to Apple for repairs. I have yet to receive any indication that Apple has my MacBook, and I cant reach this business over phone or email. DO NO TRUST THEM WITH YOUR COMPUTER. I have had to put all my work on hold until I get this issue sorted, and as of now, I have no idea when Ill ever get my MacBook back.
Took my computer here to get my battery replaced, and was quoted a price $70 dollars higher than what Apple states for a MacBook Air battery replacement due to demand. Beware of this obvious Covid price gouging if your Apple is in need of service while Apple stores are closed, and avoid using this business if you can.
Generally poor service all around. Weve now been there twice and both times they gave us bad information. On the latest run, my computer wasnt charging so I brought it in. They got back to me 5 days later than they promised, and told me that the computer was littered with water damage and would cost over $1500 to repair and would absolutely not turn on without the repairs. I declined the repair because I was suspicious of poor diagnostic skills. I picked the computer up sans repair, plugged it back in at home, and now Im writing this review from said computer. Works fine. Always go to the apple store instead of these guys.
A bunch of scums. One second I have warranty and they are able to do the job for free and the next thing I know I have to pay $100 a week after waiting on them doing nothing to tell me that my laptop doesn’t have warranty when it does. PLEASE, DO NOT GO HERE!!
Really had a bad time there. They charged me for a bad video card (approximately $700.) and didnt check for anything else thinking they had everything fixed. After getting the computer home and plugging it in, a burning smell was coming out from behind the computer. The computer was heating excessively. I called them, they wanted me to bring it in again to keep it for another week and by this time I had had enough. I will not go back. Also, they say they have people working on Saturdays, but when you bring in your computer (specifically on the Saturday morning) all the technicians have suddenly left for the weekend and wont be back until Tuesday.
Rather than go to the Genius Bar for a repair, I went to Unitek. They quickly diagnosed the problem. They were extremely accommodating and first made sure the part was available before asking me to leave my computer. Once confirmed that the part would be at the shop the next morning, they said theyd do their best to have it to me that same day. And they did. Overnight service! What a luxury. Thanks guys!
Very tricky advertising. Will price computers cheaper online than what is in store. They were lucky I had already promised my daughter the computer I bought from them. Otherwise, I would have walked out.Be cautious when buying from this store.
Quick and helpful staff
Ari and Justin are super helpful and understanding. I called them 5 or 6x and visited the store 3x just because Im that clueless with software. They were more than happy to help me out, and for a very fair price. This place is way better than the Apple Store itself because its not some hectic type of DMV. You can walk in with no appointment and be taken care of. I will be back!
Great support for your iPhones but super pricey
This place told me my MacBook Pro was toast, that the logic board was messed up and that I wouldn’t be able to recover anything I had on my computer. They told me my only option was to send it to Apple to get it repaired for $1,700 and I wouldn’t be able to get any of my data off of it. LIES. I went to a place in Sonoma called Cafe Mac and they charged $75 and put ALL my data on another laptop; now I literally have my entire old damaged computer exactly how I had it on a new laptop. So Unitek was straight up LYING when they told me I wouldn’t get any of my data back. Sonoma is a 6 hour drive from Santa Monica, but for about $140 gas round trip, you can get your computer fixed for $75. Beats $1,700 and no data back like Unitek (LIARS) told me. Don’t go here unless you want to be cheated
My MacBook Air locked me out and every time I would try to log in, my computer would restart. Worried I was going to lose everything, I brought it into Unitek. They were FANTASTIC! They honored my appointment time, were super thorough, and had awesome customer service (happy to answer any questions I had along the way). They fixed my computer AND managed to save everything on it! I will absolutely go back to them any time I have an issue with my phone or computer moving forwards - was definitely a better experience than going to the Apple store!
I brought my iPhone to change the battery.I had an iPhone6 that I had never had to clean up before then. I had it fixed here and 4 months later the iPhone stopped working. I brought it here to clean it, they said they did not have to do it because the guarantee was already finished. And they even told me that the screen was not the original of the iPhone. Prenise twice before you bring something here to pack. They do not do a good job!
Not very friendly. Most of the staff were helpful but manager was rude and dismissive
I had a noisy Macbook when it started to get warm from video playback. Within 20 minutes of walking in, they had diagnosed the problem and gave me a 48 hour turnaround on repair. Then, they beat the repair timeline and the laptop was great when I picked it up!The service is great and friendly, too. I recommend.
Similar to the AppleStore only BETTER!! I was amazed by Unitek. I needed a pro to check out my iMac after it wouldnt turn on anymore. After rushing to the Apple Store I was told it would be a while before I could be seen. The Genius in charge suggested I visit Unitek, and I am so happy he did.The check-in and diagnostic process was really similar to the AppleStore. The big difference was how patient my tech was. He was nice and seemed very knowledgable. After finding out what the issue was, I left my iMac at Unitek and they ordered the part that same day. I am shocked when I got a call around 4pm the very next day that my iMac was fixed and ready for pick up! I couldnt believe it! It usually would take over a week to get my computers fixed at the Apple Store.A truly 5 star experience!
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Worst customer service ever. Left with them doing nothing except being rude and treating me like an idiot. Got home, downloaded an apple program and fixed all the problems myself — after they told me that there was nothing wrong. Wish I’d realized I could fix it myself before wasting my time going to see them and being treated so rudely. My “technician” was a pale guy, w freckles and red hair. Idk why he’s working there and wouldn’t want him to represent my business at all. If you do decide to go there, at the very least I would avoid this guy.
Unitek SAVED THE DAY!! I cracked the screen on my MacBook and needed it repaired quick. I called Apple, since I have AppleCare, and I was told that I can be seen at Unitek same day (and I can use my AppleCare because Unitek is Apple Authorized--WoHOOO!!). My other choice was the AppleStore on third and the next appointment the AppleStore had was in a week!! I chose to go to Unitek and they got me in and out quick. The repair took less than 2 days. The person who helped me was so kind and patient with me. I am so happy with their service and I will defiantly be back soon. THANK YOU SO MUCH :)
Justin Cruz is excellent as are all the other guys. Great service and great prices and super helpful and friendly
This place it’s a scam don’t go there
I had a pleasant enough encounter with Justin here, but when I declined their service quote, he hid in the back and I was returned my MacBook Air with the battery unplugged, everything a mess and not put back together properly, after charging a $50 assessment fee to boot! The next place I took it was appalled at how it was returned to me, gave me a free assessment and fixed it for less! Repair bar in Westwood, recommended by a friend and well worth the extra drive from Santa Monica. I’m giving Unitek One star for them being relatively friendly while giving me such crappy service.
Great service
This is one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had, it makes the Apple store look great
Had an iphone screen replaced here. Work seems to be done properly however the front desk staff member who checked me in was extremely rude and it took two hours for a simple screen replacement.I would opt for the local Apple Store for iphone repairs in the future. Although you will also leave your phone for awhile for most repairs the custom service is much better.
After a frustrating defeat by the goons of Century City Apple Genius Bar, I was desperate to get my MacBook Pro 15 [mid-2015], power adapter to hold a charge and power my laptop without cleaning out the sad 12 year old sized bank account I have. I called several places and they all guessed it was my logic board and estimated at least $1,000 to repair. I laughed so hard then cried in a dark corner until I summoned the courage to re-surface with hope that there was some tech loving heaven I didnt call yet. Thats when I heard Adnans exotic and angel-like voice whom suggested, it could be your battery, bring it in and well check it out but there will be a diagnosis fee. Before heading to Unitek, I googled my MacBook Pro year and discovered some model #s in my year had a battery recall, I mentioned this to Adnan in person, who shouldve been casted as Aladdin, the Disneys live action remake of the popular 90s classic cartoon with flying carpets and the former Robin Williams. Adnan assured me if he could get as many repairs done by Apple Care service/recall programs, he would at no cost to me. I was suspicious but remained positive as I didnt get Jafar vibes that Adnan was scheming me unlike Jasmines father. Just shy of 2 weeks later, I picked up my MacBook Pro with a brand new Logic Board and Battery for FREE. My Apple Care had expired at least a year ago so I am certain Adnan used one of his wishes on my MacBook Pro. THANK YOU Unitek but more importantly thank you Adnan, finding you is like to find the diamond in the rough. #myapplehero #computerrepairgoals
Fast, friendly, and super helpful! highly recommend them for their great and professional service!
Ok these guys totally turned this all around and altered my original perception. As requested, I gave them a second shot and brought them a badly damaged laptop that I thought there was little help for. The thing now looks brand new! It had fallen off a truck and was found buried under gravel. They also unsolicited had apple replace my screen because of an expired recall. They definitely won me back.
Literally the worst customer service ever. Took my laptop for repair and left with nothing done and made an appt at Apple instead. Should have been simple but the guy was very argumentative and rude whenever I spoke to him. Im not sure why, he was short with almost everyone and made the experience really awful. I would not in a million years recommend going here if you have to deal with such ugly service.
One good employee vs two why are you bothering me types of employees.
Fantastic, premium service. Kevin listened to me explain what I thought was the problem with my MacBook Pro (a faulty hard drive cable & OS X version that was not compatible with the laptop). So, I left the laptop with them for their technician to diagnose. They had the new part installed and HD reformatted and running the optimum OS for that machine AND did it all by the end of the day... on a busy Holiday weekend.First class service. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Id rather come here for Apple repairs than battling through the Apple store on the promenade...
Brought my computer twice got excellent service.
In less than 10 minutes, I was given a diagnostic of what the problem is. $69 to format hd + install a new OS and the $39 diagnostic fee is waived. I decided to upgrade to a new hard drive and it was done in 4 business days. (they have to order it). quote for labor/service is a fair price of $99. I removed 1 star because initially they said samsung brand would be used but when it came it was a much cheaper brand. A standard 1 year store warranty is given so lets see if this will live up. Im happy anyway, it was a fast quality service.
The completed my initial repair (trackpad replacement) but inadvertently rearranged keyboard commands. When I brought the computer back in, they denied it was their fault. One employee, Matthew, said it was like fixing a car - sometimes you bring a car into the garage, and it comes back with something else wrong with it.Extremely rude and condescending. Vowed that they 100% did not touch the keyboard or change the commands - despite admitting he hadnt worked on my computer personally.I dropped the computer off so they could fix it, and 10 minutes later ANOTHER associate (one of their lead repair techs) called and said the keyboard issue was absolutely their fault, that commands had been changed during calibration when they replaced the trackpad. Went to pick it up the next day and they refused any sort of acknowledgement that it was their fault, refused a refund, were incredibly difficult and rude.Worse, one of their managers (David) threatened to put my old trackpad back in (I did not give them permission to touch my laptop whatsoever). These things happen shouldnt be an acceptable response for not only failing to properly fix my computer, but for treating me so terribly and refusing to believe me when I said I hadnt done anything to cause the issue.
Awesome place! Fast service and great customer service!...
Personable. Honest. Not arrogant. Great service.
Tried to take advantage by charging 300 dollars for 1 day turnaround when they estimated 12 to 15 days otherwise for the service covered under apple policy.
I wish I could give them 0 stars but since one is the lowest Ill stick with that they told me my laptop will be fixed on Tuesday and is not fix they did not order the part and theyre taking forever would my laptop they were rude they didnt care and I have a class project do
They cant fix most things. Dont deliver as promised and are incredibly rude!
It’s impossible to make an appointment with them.
Suddenly the charging cable on my iPhone 8 wouldn’t go in all the way so the phone wouldn’t charge. Apple online tech support thought the charging port needed repair. Apple Store had no appointments so they referred me to Unitek. The technician looked at the port and used tweezers to remove a tiny bit of paper lodged inside. Problem solved for free in a few seconds.
Did it all overnight. I froze my Mac. They downloaded a new OS then did a boot camp into Windows 10 since I can’t stand a Mac for legal stuff. Clicked on one note and all my data and all my data came back. I know Kenin for over 35 years bit we were out of touch for 10 years.
Would never go back! I was having my screen replaced and when the device was returned to me, it had been wiped. The team was oh ya, we have to do that, it should come back. Well it didnt. My phone was wiped to factory settings and I lost all photos, videos, messages, etc. Worst experience.
How much is battery replacement for iPhone XS Max
They formatted my gf hard drive without even asking her.
They fixed my computer, but the price of repair was more than I expected.
