The only place for cheese in the area. Cheese come from all parts of the US and the world. Lots to discover and educate your palate. Dont fall back on the cheese you normally get. Go for the suggestions of the day. Trust the mongers. They know their stuff.

Excellent value for the price. The cheese plate for two (20$) was extremely filling and well crafted. Employees seemed happy to be there and were very helpful. Grocery area was fun too with a nice variety of goodies and novelties.

Wife and I have visited a couple of times. Were new to artisan cheeses and they have been so wonderful in selecting different things for us to try. They have let us sample as well as educated us on different aspects of cheese making. We look forward to running out of our current stock so we can visit them again soon!

First visit to the new store, its marvelous. Much larger than the old store with lots of new product. Very spacious and cheery. Did I mention the staff? Very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Particularly helpful for a novice like myself. If you like cheese, this store is a must visit.

Wonderful place! Carries many delicious cheese varieties as well as other products I love (crackers, a salt mix I really love, etc). The prepared food is delicious, and I love coming for lunch. Had a fantastic experience with the staff here and was walked through a number of cheeses, explanations, and suggestions.The Prairie Breeze was amazing and an overall favorite.The gouda we had was exactly what I asked for, but just too much for us to eat by ourselves in one sitting.Staff was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about their cheeses.Great experience and I would definitely go again.

We have had lunch there for months. Today, we were told we could not sit in a 4 chair table in the shade. We were told we had to sit in the sun at a 2 chair table. We have bought cheeses and bought take outs and had lunch, and recommended Artisan Cheese Co since they opened. What bad business. When we walked by later we saw two people sitting at each of their 4 chair tables. Thanks a lot! What bad business. Never going back or recommending to our friends.

I recently made some gift purchases and even though I had a relatively small budget, the staff was terrific. They made some good suggestions but also gave me the space to wander and make my choices. I also had a nice chat with the owner who was friendly and helpful. This shop is quality through and through.

I had the chance to try the gluten free Shephards Pie and the meatloaf with potatoes. I have to say, they are both delicious! The packaging is nice, and the instructions to reheat are clear and easy to read. They even put the name of the person who made it on the boxes- mine was made by Holly. I have some food allergies, so I appreciate the ingredients being clean, fresh, and clearly labeled on the packaging. I cant wait to try more from Artisan Cheese! Great job! The two cheese boxes I had were plentiful, delicious and easy to serve. I just transferred the paper liner with cheese on it to my board! Wallah! Our gifted box served 6 people and was greeted with oohs and ahhs. Our other box was enough for two for three happy hours! Thank you Cheese Louise for making us happy in the challenging time. Awesome selection of cheeses and charcuterie. We now have a cheese budget. Ms personal favorite is the Julianna goat cheese wrapped in marigold and lavender from Capriole Farm in Indiana. The ice cream is locally produced and simply delicious.

Im surprised this place is still in business, and although I left it behind, I ran across a link and felt annoyed enough to come here to make a post. I signed up for classes several years ago, but then my work schedule changed and I was unable to attend. I requested a refund, and by then had been getting the monthly cheese package for several months which wasnt what I expected, so I decided to cancel everything. The owner was very rude, argumentative, and refused. We went back and forth by email for some time, eventually she sent me an email that she would be refunding my $, but she never did. She is a flake, and although I know they have great cheese, and great staff, I would avoid any interactions that require you deal with her directly. Buy the cheese, and the food, but avoid the owner.

Whether you know your way around good cheese or not, this is a great place! If you are new to cheese and not sure what you like, this is definitely the place to go. The selection of cheese varies, but they usually have something comparable in taste if the exact cheese isnt available. We created a profile to keep record of the cheeses weve purchased. Every time we go in, the staff is extremely helpful and patient with us and helps us select and sample cheeses we would like. They offer more than just cheese; weve found some great pairings as well such as a fantastic truffle honey. They offer a cheese 101 class, which we hope to attend at some point. Price wise they are more expensive than gourmet grocery stores, however you get what you pay for, and the variety of specialty, high quality cheese is not matched anywhere else. They also make charcuterie boards which will be our next try. Overall, great quality and variety of products and outstanding customer service. Makes you feel like youre family.*UPDATE*** we finally made it to a cheese 101 class!!! Absolutely fabulous evening. Informative and fun..good for couples date night, girls night out or for a group!!

Adorable shop! I went in to get cheese to go with croissants and baguettes from Cest La Vie and Vanessa was terrific! (This was my first visit and I didnt realize they also had baguettes). She recommended a creamy cows cheese from Harbison, VT., and a spreadable blue cheese from Germany. She also suggested Beurre de Baratte churned butter from France and Avocado Blossom honey from Bumbleberry Farms. It was all perfect! We came the next day for tacos - spiced carrot puree, melted cheeses, roasted pan squash, cabbage + slaw, basil, dehydrated tomato and fennel. So delicious. The young man who helped me the second visit was great, too! Well be back next time were in town.

I have been here to eat multiple times and have always had a wonderful experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I love popping in to grab a toasty, it’s my go-to choice on the menu. I have also purchased multiple fresh, local products including some ice cream, jams and even pickles and I’m not a pickle guy! If you’re lucky you’ll get to see a cheese board being constructed, it’s like art. Highly recommend this place.

Ive been going here for years, and the place is amazing! The quality and creativeness is so refreshing. But even during COVID, they have figured out how to up the experience. The cheese is second to none. Of course. Theyre a cheese shop. But the prepared foods are sooo yummy! Ive been slurping on such delicious soup for lunch the last two weeks, and gobbling up pot pies and the like for dinners. Hubby loves the food too. A delightful experience...continued at home. I selected a cheese that looked pretty with red flakes. As it was being wrapped I was told its name was “heat” which sounded like fun. I announced “I’m having cheese and crackers for dinner” then selected a macaroni & cheese meal for my husband. Artisan Cheese should be added to everyone’s take-home list.

We had a great time at the cheese and wine class! My husband and I learned a lot from the owner and cheesemakers and really enjoyed their knowledge. Fun class!

We order an ultimate cheese box each weekend. Not only are they beautiful but delicious. We love the pickled bits and crostini. The cheeses and charcuterie are always super . Highly recommended!

Attended a group event this evening that cost $48. per person to include a glass of wine and various cheeses with crackers. At that price we also expected an informative talk describing the various cheeses and how they would pair with specific wines. We also might have bought some of their wine and cheese.What we got instead was a 5 minute advert for the store by the owner and were charged $10. for a second glass of wine! Not even a penny discount on the expensive cheeses for sale.The event was an absolute rip off! Additionally the group organizers said the owner was very difficult to work with in planning the event!

This shops existence was the reassurance I needed when I first moved to Sarasota two years ago. Everything about this place is wonderful, from the owner to the decor to the cheese itself. But its so much more than a cheese shop. Its a place to discover that special jam or honey you cant live without; its a place to learn that you can pair milk chocolate with blue cheese; and its a place to meet friends, old and new.

Actually we sat just a way down and that table was empty the entire time that we sat which was for another half an hour. You did say we would have to leave regardless and you were not polite. You may think you were friendly. You were not. Rosemary Square should be a place where everyone should be welcome as it is in an open place with a variety of business types where everyone should feel they can be welcomed regardless of where they purchase food. You have no idea about what foods people can and cannot eat. Your restaurant happens to only serve food we are allergic to and we were still willing to make a purchase to stay. I would however not been able to eat the food. I have many friends I would also have been willing to refer or buy gifts for from your business. You are welcome to your opinion. You will not get my business nor will I recommend your business to anyone. Your response just goes to show how little you want to be part of a community.

Cute little shop. The cheese selection isnt huge but it is a lot of fun. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. As the selection of cheeses continue to grow and diversify this place will definitely become a five star place!

Louises beautiful cheese shop is one of my favourite food spots in Sarasota. Her team are so knowledgeable and always helpful, especially when choosing a gift. They have an amazing selection of cheeses and more. Ice creams, home made soups and delicious plates, this is a must for any foodie in town.

This place is awesome! Today was my second lunchtime visit. They have one toasted cheese sandwich on the menu which changes and each time it has been an amazing piece of perfection on a plate, it comes with a lovely little perfectly dressed arugula salad. The service is amazing! they have a very good knowledge of cheese and are super cool. The wine list pairs beautiful with the cheeses. The decor is just gorgeous, you get to eat all of this on a beautifully made table which is a wooden work of art. ♥️♥️♥️

The staff does a great job of curating their bread, cracker, preserve, etc. selection to match the cheeses in stock.The staff is extremely friendly (greeting most guests by name when they enter!) and helpful when selecting your cheeses. They will help you create a nice balanced cheese board with tips and serving suggestions. They also track what you have purchased from visit to visit, so you never have to worry about forgetting the name of that cheese you liked last time you were in.Stop in for lunch. They have an ever changing lunch menu featuring their cheeses and whatever is fresh at the market that week.

I am refuting the one-star reviews given to this fine establishment. Artisan Cheese has been in business for well over five years, a result of steady, hard work, determination and a dedication to customer service. Louise and her staff serve cheese and other menu offerings at tables reserved for paying customers. Why would one get the idea that a restaurant would double as a picnic area? It’s appalling and unfortunately an excellent example of the entitlement rampant in society today.

Wow. I walked in asked for the bathroom... Was rejected. Stuck around for the 3-piece cheese plate. It was happy hour so we were offered an extra cheese.Everyone was lovely. I learned the eating habits of one young womans father... Tom. He loves meatloaf. Got a recommendation for restaurants in the area. Highly recommend.

After driving past the Artisan Cheese Company on Central Avenue on multiple occasions, I decided to pop in and give this intriguing place a look see for lunch. My first impression was very positive. I found the staff extremely welcoming and eager to please. Customers place their orders at the counter before seating themselves in the bright, sunlit seating area. I opted for the daily special Grilled Cheese Toastie. As soon as I sat down at my table, I was handed a linen napkin (a very nice touch I thought) and a little sample slice of wonderful cheese served on a wood platter. My Grilled Cheese Toastie was prepared in a very innovative way and it was simply delicious. It was accompanied by a very fresh, locally grown, side salad and some sweet ice tea. All in all it was a terrific experience. I will definitely return to sample the Cheese Platter and I will most certainly spread the word about this must-try Sarasota eatery gem. Two enthusiastic thumbs up and FIVE well earned stars!

I have been a regular customer of this charming establishment located in the Rosemary District. The cheese which comes from all over the world is beyond Fabulous ! My favorite is the blue from Pont Reyes. There is also an amazing selection of charcuterie, wine, and prepared foods as well. In addition, the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. We recently hosted an event at the shop, and were very pleased . We were offered a wide selection of artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, fresh and dried fruits, pickles and nuts paired with high quality wine. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our guests. We also enjoyed a very informative talk by Louise, the owner and cheese monger. And we topped the evening off with delicious artisanal ice cream We highly recommend the Artisan Cheese Company . We are so fortunate to have such an amazing world class establishment right here in Sarasota.

Small cheese shop with seating for about 8 as an add on for lunch. I think they only serve soup and tacos and only one type of each, changing periodically. Not surprisingly they also serve grilled cheese sandwiches. For these they recommend some cheeses. I could tell by how the staff (or owner, I couldnt tell) was addressing customers that they were pleasant and were very particular about their products. Eg. while I was there they were describing to a customer the type of wood in each of the cutting boards they sold. My Njud tacos were good. They were big and the wrap had a nice slightly crunchy texture to it. The taste was good and unique they were big enough to fill me up. I didnt try their cheese. I would make a strong bet that they are also tasty.

I am also refuting the one star review! It is absurd that you would think you can use a business as a picnic area. It is even more upsetting that you would try and harm the reputation of a hard-working woman and her business. WOW.
