We went to the Dancewear Shoppe today in Sarasota. It is quite closed to Celery Field. My daughter needed 3” character shows for her role in Cinderella at the Rise Above performing arts theatre. We were greeted with smiles as soon as we walked in and was escorted to the shoe section by Elena. She was extremely knowledgeable, and fitted my daughter perfectly. They did not have them in stock in her size so she placed an order that will be there in a week. It was such a pleasurable stress free experience

Really nice. i just went to buy some ballet shoes and the customer service was really good, might be a bit short staffed but it was also very busy so. prices went to bad i mean ballet is an expensive art so

Yesterday was my first experience with this dance shop. The service was phenomenal; however, the leotard selection for upper sizes was limited almost exclusively to black. My 9-year-old would have preferred something with a little color. I will visit the store for shoes!

Love this store! The staff is super polite and friendly! I always leave the store wanting to buy everything, their collection of dance wear is amazing. I’ve ordered pointe shoes through them, bought tap shoes and multiple leotards, and all have been above satisfactory! Thank you for an awesome experience :)

Consistently excellent customer service. The staff here are warm and friendly but also incredibly professional - they really know what theyre doing in terms of fit, and I find their prices as competitive as anything youd find online but with a personal touch that takes all the guesswork and uncertainty out. Their inventory is enormous - Ive always found what my dancer has needed, even if it seemed unusual.

My daughter and I went there this weekend to purchase some ballet shoes. We were helped by a very nice young lady named Amber she had very good customer service. After, walking around the store the only man in the store was extremely rude to my family. When, I asked for help finding a leotard for my daughter and new family came in looking for shoes. He pulled his sales associate away from helping us and told her to help the customer with shoes. I was being helped first and purchasing these items. I was applied by the way he treated us. Then, he did it again to us before leaving the store. We traveled an hour to get there to be treated like this. I dont think we will ever come back again. If, you go to the store consider your self lucky if you dont have to deal with this guy. I wish I found his name to but, his info in my review.

The items are overpriced. Do your homework before going there. Do NOT buy the Duffel dream bag from there at all. You can buy it directly from the manufacturer online with free shipping and a google coupon. The staff there have an attitude because they know they are the only store in the Sarasota area and the next nearest one is in Tampa. If anything goes wrong with a product you buy from the Dancewear shoppe, they will make it your absolute fault and refuse to guarantee it. We brought tap dance shoes and the screw fell off the metal and the metal plate fell off. I called Teresa, she said bring it we will fix it. When we got to the store they refused fixing it and shamed us as if we are there for a freebie. It’s the principle that matters not the shoe itself. The items are well organized in the store but Not the right attitude.

Pretty good inventory of things to choose from. I have found the staff to be very nice and helpful. The only thing I recommend is that this store can be very busy and may not be able to fit in a walk-in shoe fitting, so it really is best to call ahead for an appointment. They keep a log of what shoes you purchased so it is easier when it’s time to get a new pair, you know what size you had last.

I purchased tap shoes. First, my feet were measured. Several pairs of shoes were brought to me to try on. The differences in style were explained to me along with prices. The sales clerk was very professional and helpful. I have sent others to Dance Wear for high quality shoes; I plan to return very soon.

The staff are so helpful and they carry alot of different pieces and run some pretty good sales at times. They even have the convertible and footless tights for little girls.(Huge plus for me) If you have a dancer check this place out.

Usually I am in and out very quick. The staff is pleasant and helpful. I always make sure I keep up on my treatment with my counselor, I believe I am ultimately responsible and double check that any requests I have are taken care of and complete, sent to whoever needs to be informed, such as with travel dosing, make sure the other clinic has received all the informationThis is a place of recovery and I am the one who is responsible, the more I take responsibility for what I need to do, no conflicts, and all the staff are very friendly and are more than willing to help when needed.

Im really appalled by the negative reviews. I absolutely love this store, the owners and their employees. I always come here to get dance stuff for my daughter and every time I go Im greeted, asked if I need help, and even get recommendations that always save me some money. Heather (Owner) helps me all the time, shes patient and sweet and loves my daughters. Ive even been helped by Cal (Owner) and never have I seen him be rude to a customer. He is the sweetest. I ordered a leotard online and came into the store to try it on my daughter, it was too small and something she wouldve been very uncomfortable in. He helped me find something different and he even gave me the online store price. They help with sizing as well, I wouldnt even know what size my daughter wears since we walked out with three pairs of dance shoes all different sizes. Again, wonderful place for all of your dance needs. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

This place is wonderful! I went to the shop looking for ballet shoes for my beginners class. The workers were very helpful in helping me find the right size/fit, which was great because I am totally new to all this. Im definitely coming back next time I need something for a dance class!!!

My daughter was far from home, and needed elastics for pointe shoes. Her normal store could over night them for a shipping fee of $35 (and still, it would take a few days). I called this store. They had the right brand of elastic. I asked for the fastest way to get the elastic to my daughter who is staying about a 25 minute away. The sales woman volunteered to drop it off after work, and didnt charge a delivery fee! Getting the item so quickly made my daughters day. What great customer service!

I have attempted pointe shoe fittings three different times there and every time my shoes were fit terrible! Way too long and the wrong shape for me. Every other dancer at my studio that has been fitted there also received shoes that didn’t fit correctly. So I strongly recommend that you steer clear for pointe shoe fittings from them. They have a nice selection of other items.

Ordered from here because they had a specific pointe shoe that my daughter needed. Their website says free shipping and the confirmation email stated 7-9 business days. I called on the 9th day and they hadnt even shipped yet! Shipping windows are for when you RECEIVE the product, not for when it leaves! How long does it take to put a label on a box? Lesson learned. Never buying here again and now my daughter is missing a rehearsal.

I have always had excellent customer service here! Sometimes Ive had to wait a bit but only because the store is so popular and there are lots of people shopping! When my daughter got her pointe shoes, we both appreciated the amount of time and care that was given to her to be sure she had the right size and fit. When looking for items, they always show me several different options. I often look online for items but usually end up going back to DanceWEAR Shoppe!

Much like the reviews before mine, I placed an order for pointe shoes for my daughter and five business days later it still had not shipped. I first sent an email and was told it was going to ship that day or the next...they didnt. So finally I called and cancelled the order. When I cancelled the order the employee asked me if I was sure I didnt want to wait for the item to come in....which indicates they werent even in stock to begin with! No one ever contacted me in any way letting me know this critical piece of information. Im NOT a happy dad.

I have never experienced such a convoluted and complicated return process as I did with this store. I purchased four items and later found out that one was back ordered. Then it took a very long time to get the refund for the back ordered item. Then I needed to return one pair of shoes (I bought two with the intention of trying them out and returning my least favorite- NOT an uncommon practice when buying dance shoes online). Luckily I bought a tracking number when I paid to send the shoes back because this store claimed they never received the shoes (although tracking said they were delivered). Then I was met with unprofessional hostility when I prompted them to refund the cost of the item. And then when I received the refund it was for almost HALF the amount of the item! In the end, I will be LOSING MONEY on this return even though they received the item back. All in all, I highly encourage you to shop elsewhere to avoid unwarranted attitude and a headache.

Awful! The worst customer service I have ever received. I ordered some shoes, because they didnt have my size. I was told delivery within 1 - 2 weeks. More than 3 weeks later, no-one has a clue why my shoes arent there. I was promised a call back today - it didnt happen. When I called and spoke with the owner, at the end of the call I said Ill look forward to your call tomorrow morning and he hung up!!! How rude!!!

I tried to make an appointment but they never returned my message. When we walked in we were told they couldnt help us b/c they were too busy. It worked out because we found a great store called On Pointe in St Petersburg. They were much friendlier and actually helpful.

I placed an online order approximately three weeks ago and still havent received it. I sent an email in regards to the order but they did not reply so I called them on the phone. The young lady that I spoke to named Joanne was very rude to me on the phone when I inquired about my order. I went ahead & cancelled the order because it was going to take another three to four weeks for it to arrive. I would not recommend this dance shop. Discount Dancewear has excellent customer service and if an item is backordered, they will let you know asap.

Very rude. The staff completely ignored my daughter and myself. Not until another customer was asked if she needed help and she pointed to me and said i was there before her. The employee looked at me and continued to ask the other woman if she needed help as if I wasnt even standing there. If my daughter didnt need her tap shoes for class I would have not spent my money there.

Very disappointed in the customer service. After a miscommunication (on both my end and theirs) over returning a pair of shoes I had bought online I called to see when I could expect my shoes back. While on the phone I was put on hold numerous times for long periods. I then talked to the manager of shipping and receiving, I was told to “own up to life” and that this whole thing was my fault. I was then made to feel like by calling I was a nuisance. Overall by the tone of his voice and words used I was appalled. I will never be ordering from this company again, ended up paying a heck of a lot more than if I would have just ordered from Capezio directly.

I went in there to get my daughter shoes for hip hop and the woman that waited on us completely ignored me!!!! She only spoke to my daughter. Completely strange@!!!!!

Worst experience ever! Their service is terrible! I wound warn anyone who want to get his/her stuff in time give a second thought. I ordered a pair of ball room shoes 10 days ago, with ground shipping 7-9 days, today, 10 days already passed and I still didnt get anything. So I called them to check the order. The lady answer the phone said they didnt process the order nor ship it yet, because they need 7-9 business days to PROCESS THE ORDER, what an excuse!!! I should have use that pair of shoes this week, so I had to cancel the order, what a terrible business!!!

Poor customer service. I ordered the wrong size pant for my daughter, Ive emailed 3 times in almost a week and called twice and nothing has been resolved. I finally order the pant I need 2 1/2 weeks later. I will not order from here again!
