5/27/21 - Not the best quality, but some good bargains.5/28 - I respect the owner replying to my review & respectfully indicating concern. To clarify my review, I was not stating that the products they do carry are of poor quality. I was referring more to quality food that they dont carry. There are certain products I have to go to a place like a Whole Foods Market to purchase. Save-a-lot doesnt carry a great deal of the more expensive brands. Thats not an insult to them. Their business model is simply different.

The staff here is friendly and helpful. Great selection and great prices. I really enjoy heading here for groceries for the week even though there are several supermarkets between me and Save-A-Lot. Great store

This is a great store if you want to get the most bang for your buck their prices are very very affordable if youre willing to bag your own groceries you can fill up your cart with twice as much over somewhere like publix

We live 20 minutes away and come here because we need to save on groceries. Since the pandemic started prices have sky rocketed so Save A Lot really saves on the pocketbook. Very friendly associates like Janet.

Very clean and organized. It may not be Publix or Wegmans, but a very good Sav-A-Lot.

Rough area. It is organized and seemingly clean, however the products offered are mostly in the junk food category.

I love the store. Its was there were only one cashier saying that her manager had to help. Its was getting closer to the Thanksgiving holiday andThey just need more cashiers.

I do not get this store. Its not cheap. The selection is not good and...the best part you have to bag it yourself? What??? Theres a place around the corner called Wal-Mart go there.

You bag your own stuff here. Thats not a bad thing, just be aware so you can bring some or remember to ask for bags at checkout. All the staff I interacted with were great. Decent dry goods/pantry stuff selection. Produce and meat sections are smaller and I didnt find the selection to be that much less expensive for those things overall.

Past few times I’ve been the employees were not helpful. They seemed in an ill mood. Like they didn’t want to be there. Also went today to get the weekly shopping done and according to the company the store opens at 7AM. That’s a big fat nope. The store still wasn’t open at 7:40AM. I don’t know what the deal is but if the hours are gonna be listed as a certain time then the store needs to be open at that time.

I go here maybe 4 to 5 rimes a week..It is very close to where I live and the personnel are great..And the store is well kept and very clean...Love shopping here...

I love shopping at this location. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Its easy to get in and out of the parking lot fairly easily. Not to mention the prices on the food here are hard to beat! I get all of my shopping done in one spot. If you like to save money then definitely shop here. I usually go early in the morning to avoid the after-work rush. If you go in the afternoon this location happens to be a little bit more busier. Thats not a downfall just tells you that people love shopping here as much as I do.

This is where I find the best prices with good quality for many of my favorite grocery items. Canned, beans, tomatoes, Hispanic foods and tuna fish. Their brand of chips have lower salt, but taste just as good and are less expensive. Produce quality is not like publix but good values are easy to find.I always find great value in their meat dept. Bring your own bag they only provide boxes for packing your groceries although sell thermal bags if needed.

Prices keep going up on things I like. They play yo-yo pricing weekly. Not much stays the same. And their spaghetti sauce used to be 99 cents. Now its $1.49. Are you kidding! They sell hunts sauce for 99 cents! Go figure. Prices went up on a lot of goods since the bee ridge store closed. 😡 I mainly go for the fresh meat sales. My main grocery shopping is at the Wal-Mart neighborhood market. Cheaper than save-a-lot except for fresh meat sales.

Great Prices

One thing I like about this store is the abundance of great steaks. The price is super cheap and the quality Id that of a regular super market maybe even better. If you dont mind off brand items they have good substitutes for name brand items.

Grown up in the neighborhood never had an issue thankfully, Neighborhoods grocery shore is great, happy to see it’s still there and hope it doesnt go anywhere!

Some woman just sneezed on me (not in her arm) you could see the spray coming out of her face- not wearing a mask. this is unacceptable, publix requires masks. not shopping here again. update: yes i did contact you and you did absolutly NOTHING

I havent set foot in this Save-A-Lot in over 2 years and I did today and was pleasantly surprised. Much much much cleaner than I remember. I dont know if it is because of new management or what but its clean the produce actually looks good and the prices are great. Now its not a Publix or anything but for off brand groceries its great. You wont break the bank.

My favourite place to shop fresh veggies and canned plus cheese and yogurt n great selection of beer...plus a great buys on laundry soap and bottle water a no frills place to shop

Not the best store in town but prices on sale items are very good. Things have improved at this store in the last year and it is now clean and worth stopping in to pick up an item on sale. Just be sure to bring your own bag.

Save-a-lot is a great store. It all depends on which store you choose. Some I feel are not as well stocked. But,prices are Excellent. I tend to cook for the less fortunate and their pricing on their meat is excellent. Example they have their bone-in chicken breasts on sale for $0.99 a pound I can take it and save a dollar a pound because I will already strip the skin and debone it myself for about five minutes of work and save a dollar. Oh I can say is if youre trying to stay on budget this store is outstanding.

Havent been here in a long time. Prices are great. The lines are long but they do move. Picked up a number of items that were needed for the holidays. Staff very friendly.

The best shopping for all your familys meals - all the best in ethnic flavors - the most exotic fruits from the world. There is the best produce because it is always busy there because the prices are FANTASTIC!I can shop anywhere else- but I drive across town to go to this no frills - just real stuff that you need grocery store.When I go back after not being there for a while... I say to my kids Why do I shop anywhere else else...?There may be brand names that you know- but any of the not well known brands sure work for me. Ice cream half price from the big stores and all those fun fruit pops like on the ice cream truck.Various flavors of Regular loafs of fresh sandwich breads under a dollar. Now thats worth it in my house!!!They have cases of beer & all types of wine at crazy good prices.Great cheeses / bacon / chorizo / awesome prices on seafood / frozen snacks....I could go on & on...I am sad they closed the one by me on Macintosh & BeeRidge.But I will continue to go downtown to this store anyway because it is worth it!!!Thanks for everything!

The chicken looked gray, even though it was in-date. Overall the place looked a mess so it made me subconsciously uneasy about buying anything refrigerated. I had to sort through the mandarin oranges myself to find the ones that were on sale because they were put in the wrong spot. Management over the intercom seemed quite aggressive when calling someone to the office and it gave me a weird vibe. The cashier wasnt present at her register for quite some time, even with her light on and lane open. She didnt seem happy, either. Empty boxes everywhere. Carts all over the lot in parking spaces. You get what you pay for.

(The in and out doors need to be fixed !) You can expect defected food from this place . not impressed. Employees are somewhat nice depending on which one you deal with. Smells funny sometimes, if you have a weak stomach I would recommend going to a cleaner store . one time I saw a rat run threw the isle ewww!

I went to this place one day an a lady told me to leave my backpack up front.. I have many personal non replacable items in my bag. I asked the lady why I had to leave it up front she says because people steal.. I told the lady I dont want anyone stealing my bag.. She said OH PPL DONT DO THAT? like I was genuinely confused.. Yet she told me to leave it up front? OK. I felt unwelcome everytime I went in the store. Yet its the only place I could afford.

They were my go to store. They decided to move out of the plaza on the corner of Bee Ridge and Macintosh. So I now have a new go to grocery store.

This store right here is the best little grocery store ever in my opinion

Bought a few pair of really nice reading glasses ( different colors and styles for different outfits lol ) and a pair of sunglasses for a dollar a pair that are normal $10-$12 at any other store so I am very happy with my purchase.

Filthy gross. Ive had the worst meat from this place. I mean steaks you cant even chew that you have to throw it out. If you just want to buy packaged food okay but stay away from the produce and stay away from meat.. they have a couple of brand names but otherwise everything off brand. You have to try things out. Most of the time I have had bad experience. This is the kind of place you go if you want to buy a bunch of $1 TV dinners and ramen soup. Otherwise steer clear of it

Just left my cart again along with other customers.12 people waiting to cash out with one cashier. You really dont save that much there to begin with, not anymore. The quality of produce and meat is absolutely horrible, I have literally seen bugs on the produce before. So horrible service and poor quality and not saving but a couple pennies is why I rarely go there anymore and when I do its a 50/50 that I leave my cart with groceries because there is always a long line trying to cash out. Oh yeah, spend a couple bucks and get some baskets..geeeesh!

Come back on the weekend. Every day I see the organization and everything clean. Quality products, and music, I always dance a little while I watch the products, music from the sixties.

Overall, I really like Save-A-Lot because I can go there and Save-A-Lot! LOL. Watch the weekly flyer for the really good deals on meat, which is my main interest there. Great price on potato chips and bread, also. Ill get it There are no bad prices that I have seen on anything, but be wary as some of the prices are just above or just below Walmart grocery prices.

Well, its a Sav-a-lot so keep your customer service standards LOW. But the prices are generally good, lots of Hispanic options and unique stuff. I shop there everyday.. begrudgingly, I still go. You deal with bad management and bad employees for the benefit of cheap/different stuff. It is what it is.

Good prices and good products. They even opened up a register when the line got big and we got checked out quickly.

Save your receipts.. Just opening a can of pringles after shopping at save alot two days past, someone left a half eaten can of pringles on the shelf with the seal still attached to the can. Its my fault for not saving the receipt so obviously I wont be refunded, but its my expectation that when I go into a store and buy my groceries.. I wont get home to find stuff half eaten and put back in the container making it look like it was never touched.

Great little store get a lot more food for a little price compared to larger frou-frou grocery stores But be sure to bring your own bags they certainly are into reduce reuse recycle. A wonderful Concept in Florida with the waterways all the bird life no plastic and in their stomachs is a good thing

Oh my God I could not believe how cheap all those groceries were if I had went to Publix or even Winn-Dixie I would have paid two to three times the amount for the Mouse stuff I got and in a large person 6-person household it helps
