Was at Southern Steer in April of 2021 made steaks on the grill very tender and so juicy. Planning a work weekend and looking at steaks now and planning. Best butcher in town

Im picky on quality. We were so happy to find a place that offers grass fed beef. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

Excellent meat. Great staff. A little pricey but you pay for quality. Ive started using one of their packages and its perfect for 2 people for the week. Had an issue, taken care of immediately.

I don’t know how it took me so long to visit this spot. Since then, I’m here once a week. Not only do they offer some of the BEST meats in town, but they also offer some really great cuts and types you can’t find elsewhere (Waygu burger anyone? Yum) Also the staff, despite constantly being busy is so helpful! One more thing, interesting selection of cool beers and wines you don’t find everywhere and priced reasonably! This is a great place to go on a Friday night and stock up for the weekend for your cook out. They have steaks and sausage and shish kabobs and everything you need for an awesome weekend.

Great service. They will cut any meat to my specs. Awesome tasting marinaded meats, some specialty items like chipotle bacon wrapped pork kabobs or shrimp. Very few sides, but if you are looking for good meat this is the place to go.

We love our Wagyu steaks from here. We grab a few every week, on our way home from the beach, for date night at home. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fantastic. Its our go to place to get steaks and chicken. Highly recommend.

Wonderful butcher full of knowledgeable people. The store itself is wonderfully appointed with seasonings, meats, side dishes, and a bit of novelty as well. Shay ( sorry if I spelled it wrong) took time to advise me on the meats, share some background about them, and trade preparation tips. I felt immediately at home and even though I had no intention to buy anything when I walked in, I ended up leaving with two cuts of beef that I havent tried before... The people made that sale! Definitely recommend and will definitely be back for more.

Delicious!!!! We bought mac-n-cheese stuffed sausage super tasty! And marinated chicken. The chicken was juicy and seasoned delicious. My only wish is they were closer to Lakewood Ranch I would be in there every week!!! The staff/owners are very friendly! Definitely our new go to butcher!!

The meat selection was incredible. The had delicious pre made sides. A great selection of sauces, marinades and rubs. They have great package deals. Per recommendation from nice man behind the counter, I got the Argentinean steak tips to grill tonight. Thought I bought enough for my husband to bring leftovers for lunch tomorrow. This butcher/deli/prepared foods place has the best marinated meat selection, ready to cook and readily reheat-able sides, a frequent buyer program and the grace and heart to support locals in need through Project 52. The Argentinian sandwiches are indescribably delicious. Let’s just say I’ve lived in Sarasota for 12 days and have been there 5... That’s a percentage! Oh, the wangyo burger meat is so tasty. With wine and beer, cheese spreads and crackers, everything you need as a meal for you, a family and friends or for a tailgate is here. ENJOY!

Neat little place with a great selection of pre-marinated meats and prepared sides. For me, its a little expensive. If I were to have people over for a nice night cooking on the grill, yes. Otherwise, restaurants sell it cooked with a side for a comparable price. And you dont have to do dishes..

Went in on a recommendation from another teacher. I was greeted by more then one staff when walking in. They answered all my questions and showed me what they had to offer as far as any specials. I picked up some chicken and beef tips. I made the beef tips for dinner. Very pleased. Will be back.

Most amazing sirloin Ive ever had! Cuts like butter with a fork. Have never been disappointed, we shop here for all our meals. Staff is incredible and selection of marinated meats, always beautiful cuts, seasons, craft beers, snacks, mandatory made sandwiches and (local) craft beers. Love love love this place!

This place was great.Shane was there to welcome me as soon as I walked in the door and gave me a quick education on the marinated meats.I was a little hesitant about the cuts of meat that they used for their specialty marinated tips but I was gladly proven wrong. I’m going to stop there on my way to the airport and bring some back to New York.

A wide slection of meats - beef mostly US Choice, not Prime. In Sarasota I havent found a butcher who buys sides of meat, and cuts them up, custom made. Pretty rare, I guess.

I was told that their meats are from Creekstone farms, which focuses on high quality and humane animal treatment. Chicken is apparently free range, no hormones, no antibiotics.The Argentine flavor is amazing!!!

First time Ive been in there looks like a nice little place with a good selection. They can even get prime for you and they have wagyu beef.

Per usual in Sarasota...... horrible customer service. Employee not knowledgeable in gluten freeingredients and had a bad attitude .....I am knowledgeable...unfortunately it’s a lifestyle I’ve needed to embrace. The employee proceeded to argue with me about gluten, telling me soybean oil has gluten and Tamari is soy sauce with the gluten taken out of it, both of which are incorrect statements. But more importantly he was rude and rolled his eyes and grunted at me. Very disappointed as it’s been highly recommended. Also, it was a Saturday and there was a child in the back kitchen area, not appropriate.
