Shopped here a few time. Each time the employees ignored and avoided us. When we finally got someone’s attention, every time, they were off putting and borderline rude. They have a nice selection of slabs but they are pricey and play pricing games like a car dealer.

Dave and Katherine were both great. I had a 30 wide, live-edge table top I was working on for our camper and had difficulty finding somewhere that could accommodate the table width for planing and sanding.They were able to help me out and accommodated my schedule really easily.the piece came out great, was VERY reasonably priced, and i got to see incredible pieces of wood art at their facility.And now we have an gorgeous, black walnut table in our camper. Sweet!Thanks yall!

This place is incredible.It is like a museum of natural history, where you can buy the stuff on display insteadof only looking at it.The staff is very attentive. I had a small issue and theowner of the entire chain responded to my complaint, as wellas the manager of my local store.

Unsurpassed quality of kiln-dried slabs coupled with stellar customer service - I would award 10 stars if I could. Ive attended three of the river table classes, and learn something new each time. Prices are more than fair, and the entire team is professional and courteous. Big shout out to Dan, Dave, Nick, Ben, Brad, Alexis, Carrie, Jared and the entire crew. My son and I took the River Table Class this weekend: What a great experience! Rob and his guys run an outstanding operation and are a pleasure to deal with. We had previously purchased wood from them as well and were very satisfied. Highly recommended !!!

I’ve had nothing less than a great experience from the first time I walked through the door to order our wood, to picking out the stain color for the finish.Cassi in sales was super helpful and very responsive to our questions and ordering. We had many concerns, and she was able to give us answers that helped us navigate to where we needed to be.Alexis in the stain department was beyond helpful. We had many concerns about what finish color to choose for our new planking. They were out of several small color testing bottles we liked. So, she took the time to tape off several areas on a sample piece of wood and lay down 5 different stain colors that she had behind the counter. That ultimately sold the deal on a liter of Rubio. She was also highly knowledgeable on Rubio and I appreciated the level of detail she laid out the process.Overall, I would recommend Advantage Lumber to friends and family. We will 100% be back for our next project that requires wood/stain. I’m sure it won’t be long. Thanks guys!!!

Ipe decking arrived about 17 days after ordering. I live 2 hours from the source (Sarasota). The shipping pallet had taken quite the journey to get to me and though most damage to the boards could be hidden by flipping a board over during installation, 1 was crushed on the edge. Another board was milled incorrectly as the pre-groove slot is not in the middle of the board. Ive currently been waiting a week on confirmation back from Advantage that they will be shipping me out replacement boards (multiple emails and voicemail) while my project is now stopped. Im hopeful this review brings my issues to the appropriate persons attention. About half the boards are reasonably straight, while the other half have fairly significant bows, requiring multiple wedges to straighten the board during installation. Every board has needed time consuming sanding due to the wood stickers leaving marks on the face of the boards. This experience buying decking from Advantage has not been the best for me. I have no doubt the final project will look great, but only after what will be significant delays and additional labor than would have been required had I purchased other material locally.

Poor sales support. Couldnt get accurate or straight answers from Dorian which caused unnecessary project delays. Now we cant even get a response at all.

Rob and his team are fantastic! They got me into a wood class the same day of the course, and I learned so much. I’ve never met a friendlier group, with educational classes. They have earned my business for years to come!

Better than I expected. Ben and Alexis showed me around showing all that was available. Then let me wander around at my own pace. Its a good thing that I knew what I wanted for my upcoming projects, because the selection is overwhelming. I am already looking forward to my next trip to the coast. Advantage is a guaranteed stop.

I went in for a piece of wood to use to router out a sign. Holy cow! They have everything and then some! Greeted at the door and led to the showroom where I was welcomed and taken around to see what they had. I was after an odd width of a piece, but we found what I think will work great. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I will be back for sure.

Great place for woodworkers to get exotic wood species and a huge selection of tree slabs. They also have a room full of turning squares and blanks. Service was very good especially because they will help you pick through the stock to get clean pieces.

The Florida Westcoast Woodworker Club meets here the second Wednesday of every month. They are nice enough to let us use their meeting room, but also one of the largest selection of tropical hardwoods is available in the next room. Their imported wood is all sustainably harvested and at a decent price for all the steps they take to prepare it for sale. Beautiful stuff there, go take a look.

I was hoping they could cut some logs into boards for me but was to expensive. everyone was very helpful and they have LOTS of exotic woods for wood decks or custom tables down to turning out a pen on the lathe.
