A neighborhood hardware store. Big enough and a better selection of tools than most big box stores. A better selection of home repair items too. It should be your first stop, and a close one at that.

As a contractor Ive been purchasing custom cedar shakes and other cedar from here. They have a great variety. However, as I walked in today, I was told to pull my mask over my nose, which I did. Its Saturday after 5pm, almost an empty store. I walk into an aisle and start looking at a new tape measure that I needed to buy. My mask falls off my nose. All of the sudden, from like 30 feet away, behind a corner, the young cashier is screaming at me to pull my mask over my nose, and if I dont then I need to leave the store now. He came over and kept screaming his lungs out to immediately pull up my mask over my nose or leave now. He was very loud, rood, and obnoxious. Terrible overkill and overreacting.

No matter what I need they always have it. Great personal. They are always eager to help.

Great place for minor home and building materials while also meeting the needs of your everyday contractor. They do all of this while still having a hometown feel and are one of the last places that arent a BIG BOX store and have employees that have been there for 30+ years; you just dont see that anymore! Anyways, I highly recommend over Home Depot, Lowes or other major chain stores.

If youre looking for a place to shop where most of the workers arent very helpful, know next to nothing, and are rude to customers, then Allerdice is perfect for you.

I called for a 12 concrete form and was quoted 112.98, and told on thephone that they could cut it down for me, no problem. After 30 minutes, and a drive from Exit 11, the price was 134.00 and extra charge to cut it, and the woman behind the counter was rude as a plus! Never again Allerdice! Dont waste my time!

These are without a doubt the best and more helpful bunch i have ever had the pleasure to meet. There are so many experts working here, they should open up a trade school. Instead, they are happy to pass knowledge on for free and together with a smile. On top of the massive selection of goods, they also have a wood shop and a metal shop.Trust me, you can save a lot of money and time with your DIYs when you get advice from them.This business is a great example for others to follow.

Staff is very knowledgeable and are always walking around ready to help. Prices are a little higher than the big box but I can be in and out of here in minutes with exactly what I need. So it depends how much your times worth.

We always call Dave in the wood shop for unfinished shelving or table tops of any shape or size. He is very kind and wonderfully talented. I live out of town but my parents in Saratoga swear by this store and visit there often.

Wonderful customer service from the woman who directed me where to go, to the cashier who was hilarious and patient, to the kind gentleman who helped me load up the lumber I had purchased. I was clueless to what I needed though assisted through and through.

So when my spouse first moved here, he was very dismissive of a small locally owned hardware store and insisted on going to the big box stores, but one day I convinced him to check Allerdice and not only did he find the thing he was looking for, he found three other things that he hadnt been able to find at the big stores and assumed just didnt exist in NY. Allerdice is magic. Also the people who work there are friendly and helpful without ever being condescending. I have never felt like theyre judging me for being a woman trying to do stuff myself. 100% recommend.
