Tried getting an alignment that I desperately need, wasn’t done because my tie rods “needed to be replaced” because they couldn’t loosen the bolts even with a torch. Took the car home and checked them, a little rust but a hot torch definitely would have done the job. There was only slight signs of a torch on one side but not the other. It was obvious they didn’t get it hot enough one side and gave up. Every time I’ve needed an alignment it wasn’t done because I’ve needed something else they tried to sell me for hundreds of dollars more that I did myself for way cheaper. In my experience with this, this place is a waste of time and I would go somewhere else. I don’t need to spend $580 on inner and outer tie rods because they couldn’t get them loose. As a mechanic you should be able to stop at nothing to make sure the job gets done. But they fail at this most of the time.

It took over2hrs to install 2tires. There wasnt any communication and the cost was crazy. Didnt check the air pressure. I had to do that at home. They didnt care about me or my car at all. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN EVER!!!

I will not be returning! I called on Saturday April 3rd to get a phone quote to have what I felt were broken exhaust manifold bolts extracted,replace manifold gasket for $500...I was called Monday,April 5th to be told that procedure would essentially cost $975 and during the conversation,that number went to $1500!!! My Ram pickup was then farmed out to an exhaust place,name of it still unknown to me to have new exhaust installed from the catalytic converter back. Someone please tell me how a phone quote can double? You may want to tell your people to fix only what the costumer requests and not up sale everything because it might be in the manufacturers recommended procedures. If they had pulled the sticks they would have see the transmission fluid and oil were new! Just to mention a few things! You know how you run your business and a response is not warranted! The only reason why my truck ended up in your hands is because yours was the only shop who happened to answer their phone on a Saturday!

They do excellent work at reasonable prices. They are always helpful and honest and will let me know what really needs to be done now and what can wait. Josh, the store manager at the Sartell location, goes above and beyond with customer service and is always doing whatever he can to make it a better experience. 10/10 recommend to all my family and friends!

I was a long time customer here (since 1996), have bought several sets of tires, and have had overall good service. They usually try to upsell you on other services, which I decline, as I do my own vehicle maintenance (aside from tire balancing and mounting, etc).However, the last time I was in, they said my trucks lug nuts were swollen, and they refused to rotate them due to a new store policy. They would gladly sell me a new set for 8 bucks each (160 plus tax). The advisor gave me a line about not being able to torque the old ones properly, but I could tell even he didnt really buy into it himself.Went to a competitors shop and they had no problem rotating the tires (or properly torquing the lug nuts)...plus, they did it for free even though I didnt buy the tires there! I wont say which competitor, but you can probably figure it out...Sorry guys, think Ill be going elsewhere for tires now.

My truck had a bounce and wobble driving down the road. Turned out to be tie rod ends and ball joints. Now it goes straight and no bounce. Drives as good as it should. Thanks

Honest service. My Subaru dealer had said that I would likely need new rear brake pads in approx. 5,000 miles. 5,000 miles later, I assumed that, based on the dealership’s advice, I would need new brake pads. I Went to Granite City and they told me I still had as much as 10,000 miles left on my rear brakes and that replacing them would be premature. They could have replaced them and I wouldn’t have known the difference. This sort of honesty is getting harder to find.

Friendly staff doing honest work. They have a neat system that will text you a picture of your car being worked on and details of everything they find in the inspection so you can make informed decisions about what you want done. They are great at explaining what is wrong and what truly needs to be fixed now and what can wait. Josh B was great to work with. I have officially found my new regular car shop!

I called yesterday with a concern about my brakes, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone answered every question I had with respect. I got scheduled for today and the folks working this morning were super helpful and explained what needed to be fixed and why it impacted the car. Pricing felt fair and the staff seem to really care about the customers. I will definitely be back!

First time customer and all I wanted was an oil change! They claimed that the oil filter housing that was plastic was cracked and they had to replace it (I had no issues with leaking oil when I brought it in there) so they charged me $60 for a new one that was metal, after waiting 2 hours and $138 later that evening I noticed oil on my garage floor. Brought it back to them and after 4 hrs they had to change the metal one back to a plastic one anyway, you would think that I would get some kind of refund for them breaking the original one in the first place and all the time I had to wait. I will never go back to that place again!

He helped me straighten out my tire situation in no time on my 2014 Cadillac ATS. The price was great and waiting time was nothing at all. Vehicle would not start, had it towed to Granite city tire and auto, Sartell Minnesota. I was told it was a fuel pump… Was quoted over $800 for repairs??? Called FRIEDRICH’s AUTO, Rice MN and was quoted nearly $150 CHEAPER... when I asked Granite City Tire and Auto if they could reduce the price a little just to make it comparable… They said, “NO”.... it’s amazing that Granite City tire and auto is NOT willing to take even $50 off a bill in order To be competitive in the area… Can tell you that they have lost a customer for LIFE! And I will NEVER refer anyone to this establishment again.Lesson learned, shop around, and be careful of reviews placed by their own employees to make them seem better than they actually are.Overpriced! You’ve been warned!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would, ask to diagnose an issue, gave info of everything Ive personally done already and was assured they could find the problem with a simple $99 diagnostics. Couldnt find problem but had enough time to check and find 20 other things (minor things unrelated to issue) that they graciously offered to fix those. Couldnt find issue and when asked what they all did to find issue, EXTREMELY vague and wouldnt give exact answers other that using choke fluid and couldnt find a vacuum leak. Which btw I already did so literally they offered 0 help and gladly took payment and said good luck. So literally thanks for nothing.

If this is how they conduct business i suppose I will be back. I say that because, as a mechanic myself I do all of my own work but must farm out alignment jobs due to lack of equipment. Derrick & Josh (manager) were awesome. And they beat anyone else around with prices.

Went to get a quote for vehicle repairs chargers almost double compared to many other reputable repair shops. They said to bad go to another shop then. Horrible customer service, money hungry repair shop!

Friendly employees and good service although it was much more expensive than any of the local shops where I live. Other than the price to check for an alignment and the actual alignment itself, it was nice.

Have had good service most of my visits but about five times poor service and wrong information about my wheel rims being bent (they were not) and needing to change the transmission fluid (even though it was just changed). Also a year and a half ago they only finger tighten my oil plug and luckily the only damage was oil all over my garage floor. I am going to try the sister store in St Cloud and hope they are a lot better!

The staff is friendly and honest. I thought I needed serious work done on my car and they informed me that a sensor needed replacement. They could have totally taken me for a ride and racked up a huge bill, but instead were honest with me and got me on my way while saving my wallet from a beating!

Dont bother coming here. They are very rude and dont care about customers. Only want money from customers and quoted for way more than needed to be fixed!

I had work done on my truck about a year ago. The guys were honest, the work was done quickly, and was done at the quoted price. I did not feel pressured to have additional work done like I have at other repair shops.

I was quoted only for a couple parts. Once those parts were in apparently there were other parts that were out.I was also told doing one part came with and Alignment along with it I can tell for a fact that my alignment is off so now I got to go and pay again for a supposedly alignment that they said that they did. For whoever responds to this from the location if you want to make this right for me I want some of my money back and the actual alignment done and if my tires are bad because of your mistake I want new tires because tires I have on now Ive only maybe six thousand miles on them.And the one that said everything to me you was Steve. He said the rack and pinion going in my car comes with an alignment. He also made it under the assumption but even though I didnt have all the money I would still be able to leave with the car and make payments. The fact that they dont tell you everything is extremely poor business manners

So about granite city tire and auto you are better off bringing your car to Casey’s general store.i made the mistake of bringing my car here when I can do the general stuff like oil changes tire rotations brakes etc. I am not a mechanic so when I bring my car to a mechanic I expect them to fix my car. My car broke down In town so I thought I would get it towed there and it was a $75 expense. GCTA had my car for 3 days and said that they had fixed it . I drove home and the next day on my way to work my car had stalled with the same issue. So then I had to get it towed once again but this time it was $125 to my house then I towed it myself to the shop.the mechanic then had said they thought I knew a lot about cars as I am unloading the car by myself I told them I am just a plumber and that’s why I brought it to you . With all of this going on I had missed days off work and towed the car my self and they charged me 450 and said it was fixed . As the car was in the shop for the second time I called them about the progress they informed me they still did not fix the car but one of there workers backed into my car. When I asked about the situation they told me the worker is 18 and he was not on the clock and we have to go thru his insurance not the company. Still the car is not fixed I feel like they owe me $2000 in personal expenses. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO GRANITE CITY

Originally informed my tire plan covered a flat as I had 8/32 in tread remaining and upon returning to pick up tire I am told the manager says it wont be free as there is only 7/32 inch tread and will cost you 125$. I have been largely happy here but come on. Obviously a profit issue not wanting to take a hit on a tire replacment.

Place is a joke!!! I made an appointment for my car to have a ball joint installed, they told me that it would take a few hours, I called 4 hours to find out what was going on with the car, they told me it got put to the side so it will be done around 3, so at 4:30 I went out there to talk to them face to face and they said its on the alignment rack so it will be about another hour, mind you I had already made an appointment to get in first, finally they call me at 7 and tell me there sorry that my car kept getting put to the side. Very disappointed in there lack of respect. The point of making an appointment is to get to be first. I will take my business somewhere else.

Horrible place my sister went here to get her oil change for the 24.99 oil change special and they charged her over 50 dollars for a basic oil change. When we told them they said to bad. Dont go here they are scammers and take advantage of naive people.

Had an oil-change appt. at 1:00 pm on Friday, Aug. 3. At 1:45 my vehicle had not even been evaluated. I guess keeping appointments is a thing of the past. I had to leave to make another appt. later in the day.

I used to have complete faith in this store, the only place Id take my vehicles as Ive had bad experiences in the past with other places joy riding my vehicles. I havent been to this location in about 2 years cause I moved away and came back. I have since lost complete faith in these people In my last visit. I brought my 01 Sierra 2500hd in for an alignment, my concerns brought in with1. My steering wheel hasnt been straight for a while2. I just installed new rear leaf springs, the way they sit make me think the axle isnt 100% inline with the truckSo I get the call its done, when I pick it up I ask about the leaf springs cause I checked it before I went into the store to pay. They said the technician didnt pay attention to my concern and that it must have been fine cause he didnt have to adjust much. He also said that my drivers tie rod was maxed out and they couldnt straighten my steering wheel anymore than it was. I ask cant you just take the non used threads on the passenger tie rod and slide it over to the left side? I was told I dont know, that would be something youd have to google. Thats it, Im done, Your the mechanic and you cant give me a simple answer that I already know. $80 for a very incomplete alignment that they wont stand behind cause with my new extra heavy duty leaf springs it jacked the rear up 3.5 and they think Ive got my truck lifted, the front has a torsion bar lift and the back is 100% stock. My steering wheel is also a little more out of whack than it was when I brought it in. They obviously dont know what their doing anymore. So now onto the long painful journey to find another mechanic shop I can trust with my Diesel.

I went there to get my breaks looked at and they said it was done and when I got there the battery in my car was dead and my brakes are grinding this is the worst experience I’ve ever had the car is worst then it was before I am vary displease and will never recommend them to anybody.

Im my opinnion, I would never go here!! After bringing my car to this location for service, the mechanic lifted my car incorrectly and caused $2800 in damages. When I was in the shop inspecting the damages and on the phone with the police, their service writer came into the back and gave me the finger. Did not reattach my caliper after bleeding my brakes.

It took an hour and a half to do an oil change. I didnt get a new sticker for when I was in or should return for an oil change. And they didnt talk to me at all about the inspection, which apparently my car has like 5 things wrong with it.

This store is great dont get me wrong but when they tell you to come in at a certain time for a simple oil change and your sitting in the waiting room for over an hour before your vehicle is even brought in is horrible. I just might have to go find somewhere else
