I have known Don Bailey for fourteen years know him to be honest, hard working and of the highest integrity. He has done marine canvas work on two of my boats: a 37 English cruiser and a vintage 42 Bristol trawler. In both cases the work that Don did was beyond reproach. Both boats presented unique challenges to re-canvas on existing frames, and the Bristol trawler required some real ingenuity to create a canvas addition to the bridge hardtop. Don did a detailed estimate, made accurate patterns for the canvas in both cases and the finished product was excellent in both form as well as function. I would highly recommend Don for any type of canvas work.

His many years of experience and creative approach makes even the most challenging job go smoothly. It is very rare these days to find a true craftsman as meticulous and patient that cares about his customer and his work like Don.

My husband and I hired Atlantic Canvas to replace a most difficult bridge enclosure on our 47ft Sea Ray. He came to our house and took all of his measurements and gave us a very good quote. He ended up making several trips to the boat during the construction of the enclosure checking to make sure everything was fitting nicely. Several days later he assembled the enclosure on the boat and it far surpassed anything we ever expected. The design work was perfect, with all of the front panels and the door rolling up and out of the way when not in use. Excellent workmanship, I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs canvas work done fast at a reasonable rate and most of all done right.

We have known Don for over 15 years and have had all the cushions on the boat, two biminis, a dodger, two sail covers, a forward sun shade and many small projects, all of which were done by Don professionally, accurately and fitted to the boat perfectly. He is fair, honest, a perfectionist and hardworking to a fault. After we bought solar panels for our Pearson 39 sailboat, he integrated the panels on top of the bimini, which he made, utilizing zippers to facilitate easy removal and reinstallation. The dodger attaches to the bimini with flaps sealing the zippers keeping water out as we have sailed through several heavy rainstorms offshore. Dons canvas work compliments the look of our yacht.

Id give this company zero stars, if it were an option. We chose this canvas maker because he had the lower price... and that was a mistake. The boat was a 20 Sea Pro with cuddy cabin. The isenglass on the back of the cockpit enclosure is crooked. The left side is a good 1 lower than the right. The zippers dont work, and two of them do not have the part at the bottom that ensures that the zipper tab doesnt just fall off of the end of the zipper. We have already had to re-thread two zippers because there is no end to the actual zipper, that would stop the piece you move up and down from falling off once you hit the end of the zipper. The canvas at the bottom of the main zipper-the one you use to go into the cockpit-was ripped! He drilled holes in the boat because he moved up the supporting structure-the only reason I can think of is that he made the enclosure the wrong size, and had to modify the boat frame in order to fit his canvas. Screws on the panels were missing, or just fell out when we bumped the boat. It took a lot longer than he said it would, and the final result was appalling. Next time, I would gladly pay more for a higher quality of workmanship. We wasted $1,500 getting this cover. Very disappointing. The worst part of it is that we didnt really look at it until we wanted to use it this past month (April 2016.) We had the enclosure made in January 2016. Immediately, we noticed that the eisenglass was very uneven and not symmetrical, but we didnt see all of the other issues until getting the boat ready to take to the Keys. My partner didnt want to wait any longer, or complain about the uneven eisenglass inserts, so he just let that slide. I wouldnt have even accepted the boat until that was correct, but I wasnt there when he picked it up. It is the absolute worst canvas job Ive ever seen. It is hard to believe anyone could let this canvas cover represent the quality of their work.
