We just had our carpet installed this past week ! Eric our installer was very meticulous came on time when job was completed he left everything clean! I will insist on Eric for future installments! The staff at the showroom were so friendly and helpful, greeted me when I came in made some suggestions. They actually seemed happy to be working there smiles on their faces which is a nice change! The entire experience was a 5 star plus plus!

I was greeted immediately and helped in the selection of flooring. Salesperson was very nice. I give them a three only because I was disappointed in their advertising. They state that they have an interior design person on staff to help with selections. They don’t. I was told by sales person she was a designer as were all of the sales people. When asked for opinion I was told it’s really my choice . Not the answer or help i was looking for. Took home samples that didn’t look good at all. Brought back and wasn’t asked how any of them were not asked if they could help further. I left without anyone caring . probably won’t go back. Lori

Just purchased a 2007 house and needed to replace a lot of carpet, we were comparing places and really liked Thoroughbreds approach. Knowledgeable & helpful but not pushy. Worked with Erica throughout the process and she was terrific. She was also extremely flexible when between the measurement/ordering and removal/install appointments we determined a couple additional rooms carpet was unsavable, but the carpet we bought for the rest of the house had to be ordered and was already on the way. She helped us choose a complimentary carpet they already had in stock so we could keep the same install date to get it all done at once. Such a huge help and it all looks fantastic together.Jaycen & Colin were awesome on the install as well. Extremely professional throughout, and careful maneuvering the large rolls of carpet around some tight spaces we had just had painted.Definitely going back when we decide to finish our basement!

Very unprofessional installer. Hired to replace a landing piece, 6x6 in size with remaining carpet we had. He did not like his first attempt and then said to me his tape measure lied to him on the second cut. This is when he began acting like a toddler who didnt get his favorite snack. Finally, I had to be very stern and direct with this installer and then he stopped whining and finished the work. He then snuck out of the house without saying a word to my wife or myself. The work looks great, but very unprofessional. I called the office to share this feedback; however, my voicemail request for a return call has not been answered after 4 business days.

I stopped by Thoroughbred Carpets & Floors, a few days ago, to discuss my carpet needs. I had the brand, style, and color of carpet I was looking for and the pad I wanted installed. I also had other choices of carpet and pad to choose from, in case Thoroughbred Carpet did not have a particular carpet or pad I was looking for. I gave them my contact information and told them I was ready to buy and get the carpet installed. It has been five days now and I have not heard from Thoroughbred Carpets & Floors. This is not a very professional way of working with a customer who is ready to buy from them. I read the reviews and live in the area so Ive been meaning to shop Thoroughbred Carpets for some time. I didnt expect to be ignored or overlooked so I will not be going back to Thoroughbred Carpets and do not recommend them as a great place to shop or do business.

Prices arent bad, but wont be going back. Ordered carpet and lvt back in early April, had to pay up front for lvt so they could order it. My wife had scheduled for us to pick our carpet & lvt up on Wednesday 5/5. Called Wednesday afternoon before driving 1+ hr, carpet wasnt cut and lvt was not in yet but they claimed it was out for delivery via FedEx. Called Thursday and carpet was cut but still no lvt, again they claimed it was out for delivery via FedEx. Drove up to get carpet Thursday night, when I got there, still no lvt. Nothing showed up yesterday so I called this morning and talked to Erica who we have been dealing with. Got her to give me the tracking number from FedEx and the flooring is still sitting in California. Either they dont know how to read tracking numbers or someone dropped the ball and forgot to order it. So they lied to us twice and said it was out for delivery when in fact it isnt even in the state of Minnesota. So I now have the carpet installer coming on Monday and have no lvt or transition channels for him to tuck against. Oh ya and if you leave voicemails for Erica, dont expect a call back.

We recently purchased new carpet for our house and had our front entryway redone with vinyl flooring. We had a great experience with Thoroughbred. They made the process so easy for us and we were able to get everything done quickly. We even had 1 small issue with something poking under our new vinyl flooring and Thoroughbred sent someone out quickly and they resolved this issue with no problem. We would highly recommend Thoroughbred!

Way overpriced! I was trying to have all the tile in my house redone and had Thoroughbred come out for a quote. The quote they gave was almost double what I was getting from everyone else and they also took longer than everyone else to give me the quote. Obviously I cant judge their service since I didnt pick them, but the pricing was not for me.

Had carpet pulled out, when wife asked them to not put tools on our new laminate floor they walked out on her leaving carpet pulled up and not installing new carpet. Obviously it upset the installers and when they left in a hurry they banged into her. I wasnt home at the time, because if I was it would have never happened. My wife called me at work very upset and felt because she was home alone that there was no respect for her or our property. I called manager at store and told them about situation and was informed that they are subcontractors and wasnt really a lot she could do about it. They got another crew that came out at around 730pm to finish the job. They came into living room and stairs and while upstairs stripped down to sub floor. Will never do business with Thoroughbred Carpets again and I will let everyone I know what happened to us. I talk to many people because I too am in floor care industry.

Recently had hickory hardwood floors installed in my main living area and new carpet in my bedrooms. Chose Thoroughbred after stopping in and talking with Erica. She was a great help and gave me many samples to bring home to decide. Once decided, we scheduled the install. One of the reasons I chose Thoroughbred is that the installers would move furniture for me. I checked some places who said I would have to move or hire to move furniture. The installers were great. Would have given 5 stars but there was some minor communication problems between store and installer but all turned out great. I would go back and use Thoroughbred again and have told friends about them. I am really enjoying my new floors!

We had our carpets replaced in our upper level, and I loved the experience that we had! Coley was amazing at helping us find the right carpet and really patient with our decision. We also priced out Home Depot, they were a month out JUST TO MEASURE. Coley figured out an appointment to measure within the week. We are about to finish out basement and I know that Thoroughbred and Coley is who will be visiting when it comes time to carpet! Thank you all for the hard work!

We had Thoroughbred Carpets install our laminate flooring in our kitchen, dining room, and living room. We also had them install new carpet on our basement steps and entire basement. They removed the old hardwood flooring and carpet before installing the new. We had this done a year ago. We are very pleased with how we were treated in the showroom and by the two gentlemen who installed the flooring. The workmanship was top notch. The laminate flooring was done in two days and the carpeting in one. The floors just like they did when they were installed a year ago. We highly recommend Thoroughbred Carpets for your flooring needs.

21 YEARS AGO, We moved from Canada to Lakeville, Thoroughbred installed all the carpet in our home. On the day we were moving in, they were set to install the basement carpet. Furniture (including a large piano) had mistakenly arrived a day early. Thoroughbred installers, quickly assessed the situation, laid the carpet starting at one end, as the other men carried in piano and boxes, ending with the staircase. My carpet to this day has not buckled or shifted or curled ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE! Friends new construction homes in the neighborhood have replaced their carpets and have comment on the quality of the installation. We are an active household and I attribute the workmanship and the longevity of our carpet to their expertise. Shop with confidence here!

Home town flavor to this flooring store. They are building a new store, since the old one burned down. They carry all the best brands and we chose a Shaw laminate for our kitchen. Do not do business with this company. If you have any type of issue with this company, the owner Jay does not want to hear about it. He will tell you that there are a lot bigger problems in the world than yours. He has absolutely no customer service. We had an issue with defective carpet being installed. It took 3 visits to our home before it was decided to order new carpet. They do not talk with their contractors at all. Had they done so, it would have saved us a couple of visits. When the carpet was in to replace our carpet, their was a large oil/grease stain in the carpet. The contract installer was told to just clean it and to not tell us. Luckily, we had an honest installer and he told us the carpet was stained. Finally, on the third time, we were given a decent piece of carpet installed. For all of our time and having to take off from work, absolutely no discount was offered. Do not do business with this company. They are dishonest and do not believe in customer service.

We are slowly remodeling our entire 6000 sq ft house stud by stud and needed about 6 rooms plus a hallway re-carpeted. We originally looked at big box stores in our area and passed by Thoroughbred on our way to Lowes and decided to stop in. I am a very frugal person and expected a small business would charge a lot more. Not only were they less expensive, but they had a better selection, more knowledge, and better installation flexibility as we cannot carpet the entire 6 rooms + in one day. We ended up with far better quality carpet and pad for less money than Home Depot, Menards, and Lowes and they have been a dream to work with. Since our renovation has taken almost two years since we initially purchased the carpet, they have been very great about doing the job as rooms become ready for the carpet.

This last Monday we had whole house carpet install. The experience with Erica St.Aubans from begining to end was excellent. She is knowledgeable Patient, and very nice. Cost was comparable. We thought the installers were efficient and very polite. We, Steve Erickson and Jan Erickson would be highly recommend Thoroubred carpet for your home.

They do not stand by their product. We purchased a kitchen floor in February of 2012, and one floor was very bad and had to be replaced and other that they replaced the first one with is now not standing up either. A floor rep came out and looked at it and said that Thoroughbred would be in contact with us and we havent heard from them since.Never again will we purchase from them.
