Alex at ASM BMW has taken great care of both my car and my friends. Each a 135i N55 and N54 model. When it comes to maintenance, body repair, modification, and tuning.ASM is fantastic with the best prices. The work is completed in a timely manner and some times even sooner than expected. My car is running better than it ever has before. There is some more work to be done and I’ll be sure to bring it to Alex at ASM.

I had an opportunity to do a full day boat trip with Max as my guide. The day on the water was everything I needed to learn the ins-and-outs of fly fishing! He was so knowledgeable about every topic from fly species, to fish habitat, and technique. I highly recommend this trip with Max for any first timers. Took my BMW 335i into Critz BMW for a valve cover gasket replacement and the were charging unworldly prices for repairs. Got a tip from a friend about ASM and I couldnt be happier with the outcome. Alex is the best BMW mechanic in all of the the surrounding region. He knows his craft well and knows how to get to the issue, solve and repair. My BMWs travel back and forth from the East and West Coasts. My first go with him was solving a major issue with the valve seals. Now I schedule all routine maintenance with Alex. He is incredibly thorough and I have peace of mind!

Where do I begin. There’s no way for me describe Alex and his team. I have 325 bmw and let me tell you this guy really and truly knows his stuff. I’ve been alone cars my entire life and he has done a replacement long story short. There’s never been any do over. When Alex calls me and says your car is ready. I don’t have to question it and I can trust him with anything that I need not only when comes to my bmw, but with any car. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate Asm. I will not ever consider anyone else and everything he says it needs or was done you can be assured it was that and then some. My review can go on and on but this is diffently my go to place

Took my n55 f30 in 2018 to install a turbo kit and upgrade my lpfp and fuel lines. Send the shop all the emails so they knew 100% the equipment I was bringing. Deal was to do it over a 4 day weekend 2,800. Drove 9hrs and the first thing they tell me is that they would not do it for less than 4,000. Made some call, agreed to the new price. Half way through the process the ask me for 500 more. Tell me they are keeping my jb4 as insurance (later I learned they fried it because it was never disconnected). I was there with the electronic external wastegate instructions but owner insisted he had years of experience and knew that he was doing the right way manually. The deal included a tune with Wedge in a dyno (never got done) they just took the car out for a drive and installed a basic map tune by Wedge. After staying an extra day due to wastegate malfunction issues, and sleeping in the car in front of the shop because as soon as I took it as finished, the car went into drivetrain malfunction after a few blocks, they tight glued the wastegate and gave me back the car (no ISTA was ever used). Took the car ran away from that place I decided whatever at least everything is installed they can keep the burnt jb4 I have MHD anyways. All my life I have never rated people out. Besides the multiple wastegate issues I had to deal with (youtube, extra money, ISTA, etc…), 2 years later, I’m having issues with the lpfp. Took the car to another bmw performance shop and they call me back asking me who installed the lpfp. I give them the story and they tell me that shop (ASM) did not use corrugated lines inside the tank so all the lines are cracked a d that the lines used to connect the lpfp to the outside lines of the car are a Frankestein mix of rubber lines which have all almost desintegrated (I had fuel-it ethanol compatible lines and a stage 3 lpfp with al venturi and extra corrugated lines for installation when I took the car to ASM).

Absolutely top notch. After blowing my m3s motor I had a very hard time finding the right shop to source and swap a new motor. Alex went above and beyond sourcing a new s65 m3 motor at a reasonable price while performing bottom and top end engine upgrades before installing. He made sure the entire car was properly sorted to support my supercharger kit. Alex is a top notch professional, very thorough and is passionate about what he does. He will make sure you drive home satisfied.

I took my 2008 BMW X5 in to get diagnosed for a coolant leak. Paid the $120. They tell me I need over $4000.00 worth of work. I take the diagnosis and my car home i grav all the parts he says I needed get the coolant pressure testing kit on the car and find out its a hose and the heater control valve. The valve is $53 dollars uses and $156 brand new. On top of that none of the parts he suggested needed to be used and was only a couple of hours worth of work. THEN on top of that, the two hoses of the coolant system that ran to the heater control valve from the firewall of the vehicle were backwards! Now either they were switched there, or he didnt even diagnose it to see they where backwards when I took him the car. So in conclusion I saved over $3500 in repairs (which is the cost of a new 4.8l V8 engine for the X5) and found out that they are completely negligent as well. Dont take your car here and if youre reading this I want my diagnostic fee back because you didnt do what I asked you to. There is not a negative star rating, you would certainly get it.

Anyone who is willing to go above and beyond to make you and your needs a priority deserves a review. These guys got me an HID Ballast that I needed to get my M3 back on the road and was able to rush it over to UPS to overnight it to me so that I could get it the next day! I seriously cannot thank them enough! In today’s day and age, that just doesn’t happen anymore and I am beyond thankful. You definitely exceeded my expectations!

Called this place when I needed assistance quick. Between Richmond Hills and Savannah they were the only place that were willing and able to help. The team there had other work to do but were able to get me in and out in no time. They treat you like a person and not a number.If you need any help with your BMW this is the team to do it. My 2001 BMW 325 ci convertible was limping after 150k. Engine and suspension showing its age and a little cosmetic face lift was in order. Alex addressed every item on my list and got my car back to me as quick as possible. The work my car needed would have taken 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Alex was ready to turn it around in 1 week. Unfortunately he got sick but still completed the work in only two weeks...I had the feeling that the ASM staff really made my car a priority and kept me in the loop when things changed.... I am always anxious going to a new mechanic especially when it relates to the luxury and performance European brands...lets face it they cost more to own and maintain. N54 went in my 07’ E93 335i. Was able to source a replacement motor for a very fair price. In the process of swapping the motor, lots of upgrades were added (bigger turbos, catless exhaust, catless down pipes, larger intercooler, relocated expansion tank for upgraded turbo inlet pipes, MHD Stage 2+ Tune, etc). Safe to say got the fastest 335i vert in the city now. This car will only go to ASM as long as I own it.

I took my Z4 in because the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. Alex diagnosed it and had all the repairs done the following day. He also did everything he could to try to keep the cost down which always nice. I was extremely pleased with the quality of work and impressed with the turnaround on the repairs. I wont be taking my car anywhere else!

I wish I wouldve known about ASM sooner. I got in contact with Alex to help me do some work on my car. The parts I needed were a bit delayed but they still got them weeks before I couldve. Miranda contacted me and gave me updates throughout the process which is something I wouldve never expected but wish more people would do. They were extremely transparent on costs and came in right at the quote. If you need any work done this is the place in Savannah to do it.

The quick review - MONEY WELL SPENT - Alex fixed my 2003 X5 (which I brought to him in very poor condition). He gave it back to me and both met and exceeded my expectation. I have been driving it now for the better part of a week and couldn’t be happier.The long review - As a general rule, I do not typically leave reviews. However, in this case I hope to help someone make the same kind of big purchase decision I had to make. I also want to write this review in support of a fantastic local small business. I bought my 2003 X5 truck as a project and really had no plans to pay someone to fix. I am a DIY enthusiast and have been working on this truck for approximately 1 year (off and on).Before I actually took the car to ASM, I stopped in for a visit to check out their shop (May 2020). I wanted to make sure they were the real deal, you know? Upon arrival, Alex took time out of his day to show me around his shop discuss my repair. He helped me to understand some of the gremlins I was chasing (If you have ever worked on a BMW you know not to feed them after midnight). BMW’s can be the worst for chasing down electrical problems. Most of the electronic systems are intermingled in such a way that you can get a LOT of false positive diagnoses (especially when dealing with already bad modules). I digress, I mention this bc he (Alex) did not try to sell me on a service or repair. He was genuinely interested in my problem and gave me some good tips to get my project back on track. I could instantly tell I was dealing with a walking BMW encyclopedia. He was able to pretty much instantly recommend solutions to problems I had been conducting research on for weeks (the rabbit hole is deep). Anyhow, Fast forward approx 7 months… I was able to use the tips he gave me to get the truck running and moving. While I had made headway, I was NOT able to fix my problems. So on to getting help. Because the vehicle was non-running and needed a tow to whomever would fix, I called pretty much everyone in town to discuss the issues and get pricing. EACH independent mechanic I discussed my problems with ended up referring me to Alex at ASM….not one or two...EACH one I spoke with. Including one gentleman at the local BMW Dealership. Alex is one of the few guys in town that has the equipment to handle specialized BMW coding (not the DIY stuff, I have several BMW related software packages myself).So, after doing all of my homework, budgeting, stewing, and hairpulling, etc…I decided to bite the bullet and tow the truck to Alex. He has the car and figures out the problems in no time flat. Gave me a quote (it was a considerable cost – in the multiple thousands of dollars - a big decision for anyone but especially me). The amount of money hurt my wallet but also hurt my ego as now I have to pay for my failure. Let me say that I have NEVER paid anyone this amount of money to work on a vehicle. Yet, it was probably the best decision I have made since starting the project.Alex was able to get me fixed up and running. My 2003 X5 now runs like NEW. 5 STARS all the way. I have been driving this truck daily for a week and no signs of any of my previous issues (fluid leaks and transmission failsafe mode). It’s a great feeling to have this truck up and running but I think the greatest pleasure from all of this doesn’t really come from the truck driving and working properly… it comes from knowing that it will keep working. Alex warranties his work (24k miles or 2 years which ever comes first). I can tell you that you will be hard pressed to find someone that will stand behind their work like that (especially on such an older model vehicle). Its nice knowing the best BMW mechanic in Savannah has my back. If you are on the fence about where to take your newer or older model BMW for repair, please take my recommendation and go see Alex. It will be money well spent.

Having recently relocated to Savannah with an E39 M5 about which Im very particular, Ive spent considerable time over the past few months evaluating local service options. It was immediately evident from my from my first conversation with Alex that hes an experienced and knowledgeable mechanic, and a BMW enthusiast to boot, equally conversant with technical and historical facts relating to my 20 year old M as with my much more modern last-gen 5 series.Most importantly, the work product speaks for itself; in the last month Alexs shop has tidied up some bodywork on both my cars and serviced my M5. In both instances, the car was back on time and under budget. The bodywork (including very well-matched paint) looks great, and while discussing the work when picking up the cars, its clear he was thorough not only in the work done but also in proactively looking over the car for early signs of other needed maintenance, a critical approach to keeping these wonderful machines performing at their best (and saving the big $$ that neglect leads to).Highly recommended!

Alex did an outstanding job fixing my 335i. The work was completed quickly and his price was lower than 2 other estimates. I concluded that this will be the only shop that will fix my BMW outside of warranty work. Alex really know how to fix cars and is fair and honest.

Ive lived all over the country and seen dozens of BMW dealers/shops, but none had the expertise and pride in their work that I continue to find here. My 2010 535i drives better than new after having ASM take care of her for a few days. I cannot recommend them enough!

Couldnt be more happy..Alex is a master BMW technician. I had my engine seize up in my 06 325i. Previous owners had neglected it and I got the car for a low price. I knew it needed a new cooling system. Radiator, hoses, and expansion tank. I had planned to put all of that on myself but it was too late. My oil filter housing was letting coolant leak in to the engine block, this caused it to lose oil pressure and overheat very fast.I took it to ASM after reading, many good reviews. Alex really sorted me out The car was ready in the amount of time he said it would take and the price was exactly what he quoted me in the beginning, you cant really expect that kind of consistency with mechanics anymore. Unless you take your BMW to ASM.One of the reasons that I am so very pleased that is important to note is that the engine Alex rebuilt for my car was actually from a model year newer. The 07 328i, essentially the exact same car as my 06 325i has a more refined, efficient, and more powerful engine. So I didnt just get a new engine, I got an even better one. This is what I feel defines and seperates ASM BMW from any other shop. If they can do something a little bit extra for you, something they know youd be very pleased with, theyll do it Im not telling you to expect free upgrades, but i am saying that when theyre done with your car, youll be more happy with it than ever.

I moved to Savannah around a year and a half ago and bought a 2014 328i. Ive been taking it to Alex ever since and Ive always been more than impressed. This past weekend, Alex had installed full bolt-ons which included a catted downpipe, ram intake, front mount intercooler and a new aluminum charge pipe.He hooked my car up to a battery charger and let me flash bootmod3 there in the shop for stage 2 93 octane tune. The car is a different animal now. I just gapped my friends 5.0 2019 mustang gt on the way to work today.Alex knows what hes doing and always provides the best service for your car. Alex saved me! I recently purchased a 2001 330CI vert and immediately began searching for my future repair shop. After reading great things about ASM I stopped in and was greeted my Alex (who was clearly in the middle of something), who stopped what he was doing and spent 10+ minutes explaining his history and how he operates his shop. I was more than satisfied and was planning on finding a time when I could leave the car and have him go through it.A few days later while merging on the highway, bringing my kid to his soccer game - I slammed sideways into a crater in the road bending 2 rims and blowing out a tire. In a panic I called the shop and within minutes Alex and his son were with me on the side of the highway jacking up my car! Unbelievable!

There are horror stories of auto repair shops taking advantage of customers by performing unnecessary work on their cars. I am happy that owner Alex of ASM BMW is that one of them. My son James a student at SCAD was in a car accident (he was not seriously hurt) December totaling his car. He was lucky to find his dream car, a 1997 BMW 328si. Last week his car started smoking, he purchased the parts from ASM BMW, Alex asked who was doing the work on the car. When James told him that he was, Alex told him to bring the car in that Saturday. Alex had his Mechanic Jardon work on James car at no charge. Being 4 hours away, I was able to have a piece of mind as we did not have the funds to pay for the repairs. I am happy that God brought Alex into James path. I highly recommend Alex and his staff of ASM BMW for all your car needs. Honesty and integrity should be their tag line. I called several shops in Jacksonville and Savannah for someone to hook up my back up camera.this was important because I had to drive 80 miles for my appointment.Alex was the only shop that had a can-do attitude. Some of you may already know my car ate a belt and because of how rare of a motor it is; it took me sometime to locate one. I must have called shops and dealers all over the East coast trying to find this unicorn of a motor called an “N54”.I was finally recommended to a local shop call ASM Automotive, and have to admit it was a rough start when I first started talking to the owner Alex, but after the spending the last month there, buying a great motor off of him and spending over a month at his shop, I’ve learned a lot about him and his company.He is a small business owner that didn’t have the greatest start in life but has now turned his life around and owns a very successful specialty shop with employees that look up to and respect him. Decided not to get work done here due to the cost of repair. My car sat there for a month and was charged storage fees. No foul there. When i dropped my car off it was together and clean. This is how it was given back to me. Wires hanging, cables disconnected, not put back together. Very unprofessional, and uncalled for. BBB report to follow.

Im the type of person that only writes reviews when something is either really bad or really good, and Alex and everybody at ASM are better than really good, they are absolutely amazing.Was dropping my car off to get some service work done, and some diagnostics as well. Had some difficulty getting to the shop, and Alex stayed late on the weekend so I could drop the car off. Alex got all the work (needed new fuel pump) covered by my warranty. Had to sign the warranty paperwork, yet again, Alex stayed late so I could come after work. Give them a call the next day to see when the car will be done and they tell me its ready to pick up. I was so shocked at how quickly they got the work done I had to pick it up the next day because I wasnt ready.In addition to the quick turn around and excellent service, Alex filled my gas tank up (didnt have time to get gas as I was late leaving for a trip out of town), replaced my worn out wiper blades, and washed my car (rims look better than when I bought the car lol), and showed me how to clean the screens in my engine bay, all free of charge. Oh and I forgot about the free t-shirt.All of this and I havent even got to the best part about ASM, the people. Alex is super chill, down to earth, and honest. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of, which seems like an anomaly in the car repair industry, and I could of stayed and talked BMWs with him for hours. The receptionist (Im sorry I forgot your name) is so pleasant to speak with as well. She always answered the phone when I called, which was a lot lol, and was very helpful explaining the situation with my car.I could go on and on, but I know I will be bringing my car back to Alex for any of my needs in the future.

My husband takes his bmw here for everything. They have put many performance upgrades in his car for a great price. I wouldnt trust anyone else to work on our cars!

The mark up on prices its kinda overboard. 20% mark up ok, 100% not cool.

Reason why I love this shop is because I spent a year calling and reaching people all over the country to buy a transmission for my BMW its an older one, but the process and conversation I had with Alex at ASM BMW was smooth like butter, I got a great like new tranny from him for a very fair price. What an understanding fella. Honestly its hard to have a nice conversation or normal one with people face to face and this guy was the absolute true bmw enthusiast with care for customers hes not just about the dollar hes a human being with good ethics hard to come across people like him! I can only imagine what it must be like to service the car there a dream maybe!

Knowledgeable and excellent service

Had a repair done by Alex at a fraction of the price the dealer wanted to charge me, decided to talk to Alex about tuning and decided to go with his suggestions, the work really woke my car up it now performs in my opinion how it should have come from the factory, power is increased but is also delivered consistently across the rev range, all this with out sacrificing reliability and mpg.

Nothing short of making sure that my purchase was satisfactory. Found a good place to order parts.

Let me put it this way...Im seriously bummed this place is too far from home. On vacation from Michigan, needed an oil change, stopped by on a Saturday morning and even though ASM was officially closed, Alex agreed to knock it out anyway. On top of that he ran a diag, powerwashed my engine and gave me a t-shirt for my daughter because she wants to be a mechanic. Meanwhile, enjoyed some car talk entire time. An oil change was actually one of the highlights of my vacation. Just friggin awesome. TY Alex!
