Im new to kayaking, but I have done my fair share of research, and I have to say not one time did I feel awkward, pressured or anything out of the ordinary, Jerry is a stand up guy, very informative, and honest,, he didnt sing me a song and dance,, he took the time to talk with me and didnt try to push or take advantage of the situation, wich speaks volumes to me, the fact that in the 2+ hours I was there, we talked on a personal level and got to know one another, a little bit, means the world I hoping to buy my first hobie kayak from them shortly, I highly recommend anyone look for a Kayak or information on the sport, give this place a go,5 stars and 2 thumbs up

Purchased my Hobie outback 12 from Captain Kayak. Actually placed my order at a local fishing show. Within one week I had my yak and the captain kayak staff outfitted it with every option I requested. I was even giving a walk through when I picked it up. The great thing about buying a Fishing kayak at Captain kayak is that the staff and owners have experience kayak fishing so they know what works and what doesnt.After the sale I have come back to fine tune my yak and once again the staff was awesomely quick and efficient. The support level is great and you cant get that from a website. They also offer some great tackle specifically designed to make the best of fishing from the yak. Im definitely a satisfied customer and always recommend this shop to anyone whos looking for a kayak.

After buying a kayak, we brought our son a gift card, these expire! Not very good, you just keep the money. The gentleman that helped me had to go in the back to have all my questions answered. Gentleman next to went through the same thing, ask questions, and the girl went in the back to get the answer.

Captain Jerry knows more about Kayaks than any person I have ever met. He also knows a boatload of stuff about fishing. I purchased my Pro Angler here and have always been treated professionally and courteously by the entire staff. If you are thinkiing about buying a kayak...or even renting one for a few hours to decide if it is for you...this is the place to go and Jerry is the guy to see. (PS - Extra props to this place for organizing the Kayak Fishing Tournament in Jamaicia Bay each year and for running it as a charity for the Wounded Warrior Organization.)

Captain Jerry and the rest of the crew at Captain Kayak were EXCELLENT in every way. From the time I walked in, Cpt. Jerry took a good chunk of time answering my questions and going over the kayak I was interested in. I came in already educated about what I was purchasing and Cpt. Jerry left me with even more knowledge about the kayak as well as going over transportation/rack options. My girlfriend and I left knowing we would be back, and put a deposit down the next day. A week later we came to pick it up, and even with a busy store, the entire staff was amazing in helping us place racks on the car, teaching us how to load and unload the kayak properly as well as how to secure it to the racks the right way. Before we officially purchase our Hobie, Cpt. Jerry brought us to the back where he had our kayak on stands and went over every feature of the kayak, the warranty, and what we would need to know as new paddlers. They are an official Hobie dealer as well and stock all the necessary parts and accessories for Hobie Kayaks. I highly recommend this store to anyone shopping for a kayak, the whole experience was effortless and I learned much more than I expected walking through the door. The entire staff was extremely, helpful, accommodating and friendly.
