We replaced a door to our greenhouse with a wood hinged patio door. It was installed out of square, and would not close properly. Additionally, smudges were left on the interior panes of glass and could not be cleaned off until a customer service representative brought a tool to open the panes of glass so we could clean the insides ourselves. After a month of back and forth phone calls with customer service about reassessing the door, it was determined that the door had to be replaced. When they finally came to replace the door, only the frame was replaced and the product was still slightly uneven after this attempt to correct it. Quality of the finished product does not reflect the price that was paid, and in retrospect I would not have chosen Pella for this project, which most certainly could have been done better for less money!

Steven H. has been the BEST sales rep we have ever worked with!! We have been greatly taken advantage of by EVERY company we have hired for our big projects in the past but so far Steven and Pella have been professional, kind, honest AND gave us a great deal on a high quality product. He’s answered all of our questions and has completed the necessary paperwork in a timely manner. We were extremely pleased with the entire process. Benjamin offered excellent advice and a competitive price. Evan and his team arrived on time and completed the project in two days despite very difficult weather conditions.

DO NOT order doors from this company at this time!!! They are NOT timely with product installation. I ordered a door on July 23. The salesperson admitted that the Pella manufacturer may be slow due to the pandemic so he scheduled much later than normal (September 25 - 2 months later!) to account for any delay in manufacture. Totally understandable. However, I received an email on September 21 telling me that the door was not ready to install and we’d have to reschedule. In the meantime I have received 2 bills from the credit company for a door that I don’t even have. Go Anderson!! I ordered 2 doors from them for an apartment that I own. The job was done 6 weeks later. Maybe a little more $$ but worth it!

Steven has been awesome with us. He totally understands our thinking and is working on different options. I really appreciate his honesty. I hope we can do business now and in the future.

Ben Killary and his team did a great job getting my old windows upgraded to high-quality Pella windows. I was given all the data I needed to make an informed decision. All my e-mails and texts were answered quickly. The installation team was impeccably clean and efficient. They were flexible and cheerfully worked around some special circumstances to accommodate needs of pets and tenants. The difference these windows made in my home was dramatic and I am very happy with them.

The product and installation went great. Ben Killary, who handled our account, did a great job in presenting the options. What we chose, a set of new construction windows, fits our needs much better than the replacement window options from Pella and other companies. The installation went as planned with no problems. The new windows are so tight that our pellet stove, that ran continuously when the outdoor temperatures were below 40F, no longer runs continuously unless the temperature outside is below 25F. Highly recommend that product and installation service from Pella.

Pella Scarborough installed 20 windows in our home; most were replacement and two were new construction. It was a big ticket purchase and Ben was a great resource in the decision process. He explained options and was careful to be sure my husband and I were in agreement. We chose the Architect series with factory pre-finished stain and they are gorgeous! I love them!!! We had 4 other companies give us in home quotes, etc. Pella was the best option for our home. Kevin and his son Nick arrived promptly each day for installation, had drop cloths, worked very professionally and left things immaculate. They were very considerate of our home and children. We have a couple of punch list items, but considering the amount of work they did; it is expected. I love the new windows!!!! Ben followed up with a phone call to check on our satisfaction with the work. I would recommend Ben and his crews to anyone.

Windows. Its tough to pay money for something that you already own. But, honestly, windows are a huge part of the health of your home. Good windows also improve value. I researched replacing my 23, 34 year old wood windows for over 4 months. I personally obtained 4 site visits and estimates. At first, I was taken aback by the estimates compared to what Mr. Google said. I then came to realize how much construction is involved in replacing the entire window unit. Im SO pleased with my Pella windows! They are of superb quality and Ben made me an offer that beat all others. The installation crew was outstanding! 23 windows replaced expertly within 3 days. No muss, no fuss, no debris, and product installed as promised. Ben assured me I would have to do nothing but enjoy them after the installation. Kudos to the forgotten art of honest, personal, and attentive service. It is so RARE!!!

We had 14 brand new windows installed this week including having all of the inside and outside trim and finish work done. Very expensive investment but couldn’t be any happier with the results! I recently responded to a questionnaire I received referencing my experience with Pella windows. At the time I thought it was asking specifically about my experience with Lowe’s and Hammond Lumber, to which I specifically addressed my response. Unfortunately I assumed incorrectly.It was from Pella direct as were Bobby and Josh. Had those two not come out, discussed in detail and truly listened to our situation, I’m not sure what we would have done. Thanks to Josh’s patience, knowledge and recommendations we now have 9 new windows ready to install on side 2 of our 1779 farmhouse, couldn’t be happier. Bobby follows through every time and they keep their word, definitely a rare, exemplary trait these days! Don’t hesitate to contact these folks, they’ll do you right whatever it takes. (I’m looking forward to working on side 3 with them soon!)

If you need new windows, call Pella. From the time I started working with Ben until my windows had been installed, everyone was skilled, knowlegable, and they listened to me. My house is not that easy to get into with very large windows, but they did it easily. I could not be happier with my windows or the guys that put them there. If I need more windows, I will call Ben and Pella.

In the Spring of 2018, we had three doors and two windows replaced with Pella products in our house in South Portland. Bought a replacement picture window from a slick sales person that was not truthful about the company, my bad. First window was installed approximately 7 weeks after ordering it in June 2019. Time frame for arrival was 8:30- 10:00AM. Installer arrived before 7:AM, I was not up, nor ready. There was only one very unprofessional looking installer to do this work.Window was installed with a large Pella sticker on the outside of the window, and a scratch in the glass. Several plug pieces were missing, so it looked like I had holes all around my window.,The inside caulking was horrible, clumps of caulking all around my window, and no drop cloth was ever put down, so I had a huge mess to clean up after he left.I called the sales rep that had assured me if I had ANY problems I could call him and he would address them. He could not commit to a time, was too busy . . . so I called the corporate office and was sent to the after care department. They are also very busy, hmmm.After care folks were very nice, including the office people. A tech showed up about 3 weeks later to inspect the unsatisfactory window. He agreed it should be replaced, but since it was going to take another 6 weeks, he was kind enough to scrape off the large sticker on the front, that I had tried to remove, but was unsuccessful.2nd window (glass only) had a very noticeable factory defect, after care installer said he would have to order a new one, but installed it as defect wasnt noticed before 1st window was removed. Its now Oct 10th, and my 3rd Pella glass replacement was installed. Yes, again, more defects, window frame is cracked and when a level is put up to the frame (original frame installed with 1st window) it was not even level. Tom, after care installer was very kind & compassionate. I was beside myself with disappointment, as this was not acceptable either, but I have now lost ALL confidence that Pella is capable of producing and installing a quality window in my home.I call the district project manager and asked what my options were. I was ready to have Pella remove this 3rd defective picture window, and I would find another company. Project manager wanted to make it right, so I agreed to one more try, but with a higher quality/model window.I was told the installation for my 4th Pella replacement window would be Dec 18th. I didnt feel that I should have to wait until mid December, so emailed the project manager back requesting this be done sooner, as I expected Pella to be pulling out all the stops to make this right. Remember, 1st window was installed July 11th! The best Pella could offer was Nov 27th. I had to accept.Replacement team was great. When window was being installed, I noticed things were being done a bit differently than when the 1st window was installed, like some foil piece being laid on the bottom sill, and caulking all around the inside before the new window was put in. When I asked why they were doing that, they told me it should have been done this way on the first install. So not only did I have a defective 1st window, but I had an incomplete/unprofessional install, and the two glass replacements after would not have corrected that.I was looking to have all the windows in my home replaced, but wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the company I would give the job to, so decided to have just my picture window replaced first. Boy, am I glad I did. I will do much more research before I hire any company to install the other 17 windows.

These are the worst windows that anybody could buy. Our house had Pella windows only (2002 and 2010) vintage and we are now slowly replacing them. We cannot afford to change them all and I have been going around the house sealing the casement windows, so they dont open anymore. We have water egress at most storms. Besides they are the worst group of people with which to deal. Do not, do not be fooled.

I understand that the housing market in Greater Portland is quite strong right now, but I find it absurd that after coming to visit my home a week ago to take measurements for an estimate, Pella still has not sent me a quote at all. I have a straightforward and uncomplicated project, replacing an existing French door with a vinyl sliding door.The salesman had no problem pushing high-pressure sales tactics on both myself over the phone and my wife who was at home during the visit. Lots of reasons for why we should sign paperwork today to guarantee an installation slot in mid-December. I asked to see a written quote before signing anything. I was told I would have it by the next day and that if I signed the work contract I could have an installation spot in late November. I stood my ground in wanting to see an estimate first, and here I am a week later with complete radio silence from the salesman and no estimate to look at.They apparently have no interest in gaining me as a customer, so I will look elsewhere for a company actually wishing to work with me.
