We ordered a chair a few years ago. It is the most comfortable chair. The Sales staff was great. We wanted another chair just like the first one, but it was discontinued. The sales person was very helpful with suggestions. So eventually we drove from Tennessee to Schaumburg Illinois to look and see what was available and ordered a new chair, ottoman and throw pillows. They are so accommodating and helpful. We would suggest to everyone to visit Penny Mustard and the staff for your home furnishing needs. The quality is very high which is hard to find elsewhere.
My review is mostly to make other consumers aware of the poor craftsmanship I received on my very expensive reclining sofa! Prior to purchasing this sofa, my husband and I had already purchased other furniture, bar stools, and were very please but after our last experience I will never buy from Penny Mustard again. The sofa was bought last July(2020) and we took delivery on it in Sept.(2020). One week into taking delivery on it, I had to call to have someone come take a look at it because the two ends that recline were making a squeaky sound. The repair man said that the noise was normal due to the moving parts while reclining and said hed grease them and put some padding in the area and that should help. However, the noise never went away and now the two ends, that are also the electric recliners, are getting squeakier and squeakier. For the price and supposedly good craftsmanship, the quality of the product is awful! I am still paying on a very expensive piece of furniture but very unsatisfied with the craftsmanship and quality. Needless to say, I will never spend another cent at Penny Mustard and every opportunity I get, I share my story with everyone so that they do not go and spend their hard earned money at Penny Mustard. I always supported paying their high prices but for good quality work and that no longer is the case.
I think my review was deleted... any way. Had terrible service before I even walked into the store. This was years ago (8/17) so hoping they weeded out the poor example of employees. Im sure the furniture is great but I just dont plan on shoping ever at that location.

We had been looking for just the right chairs for our new living room and just happened to drive by Penny Mustard in Schaumburg. The furniture is expensive but being able to customize every detail and not just get what you see in the floor makes it worth it. The handcrafting of the chairs (local craftsman) makes them even more worth it. We were Angelinas first sale and she was great. Very patient with the process of picking everything out and making sure we knew all our options.After the purchase they were very good at keeping us informed about the process and delivery times. The chairs arrived on time. The delivery team was very professional and super polite. The chairs look amazing and we are very happy with them.

I arrived at the Schaumburg store disappointed, disillusioned, and very pessimistic. I did not want a gray, brown or tan solid sofa I told the salesperson. All she said was, Follow me. She took me to a room full of different kinds of fabric swatches, with thousands of colors & patterns. My 2 colorful, abstract patterned sofas arrived today. I cried. They are magnificent! Any and everything your heart desires for furniture is at Penny Mustard.

Good furniture is expensive but smart people always say quality verses quantity.It was worth it. Now delivery guys and the care which they took in bringing in our table was out of this world. Prices were very competitive considering the table is made to order here in the USA, and is of great quality, which is important to us. What a great experience dealing with Tom Stanil at Penny Mustard in Schaumburg. We ordered furniture to be delivered in Ft Myers FL. The delivery was perfectly scheduled by Kenny in the distribution center in Milwaukee. The delivery men kept us informed as to the time they would be at our home. They were very efficient and careful in setting up our furniture. They also fixed a drawer on a dresser I had previously purchased from Penny Mustard.
Tom Stanil was very helpful in furniture recommendations, fabric selections, and the entire order process. We selected some samples, viewed them at home, and returned with our order. A very clean and pleasant process, just had to wait for selection to be built. The delivery process was another pleasant surprise, email confirmation, phoned by driver prior to arrival, and an accurate time window for delivery. Will purchase from them again.

My wife and I were very impressed and thankful for the service we received at Penny Mustard in Schaumburg. Kim, our salesperson, gave us her undivided attention and patience for two hours as we selected a sofa and then a different model love seat. There are many options for the furniture and included pillows and of course fabric selection is critical.Kim was extremely knowledgeable and was not afraid to offer her opinion without being overly forceful. In the end, we went with her advice when narrowing down our fabrics and are glad we did. The outcome was much better than our original inclination. Kim was a pleasure to work with.Penny Mustard is not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. We had first stopped at Toms Price Furniture and left after 15 minutes. Their prices are through the roof. Our next stop was Macys Furniture. Their prices were very reasonable but the store was a disaster, possibly due to Covid-19 disruption but still! Little pride was shown. Penny Mustards prices fell in the upper half of the middle between the two but we believe we got excellent quality and service for the price.Since everything is custom made we waited 6 weeks for delivery but it was well worth it. The furniture is beautiful and as high quality as the store floor samples. We are very pleased.

Kim Markman was awesome! She helped my husband and I find the perfect sectional for us. She was attentive, but not overbearing. She didnt put pressure on us and was willing to answer all our questions, even when she had to look things up. She even reached out to us after we came back to the store to place our order. I went in to the store just to browse for living room chairs. I had gone to four or five stores before going to Penny Mustard. I found a floor sample I fell in love with, but I needed two of them. Kim, the sales woman, went online and found a second chair in Naperville. I was concerned because I could not see the second chair in person. Kim had the Naperville store sent a picture of the chair. They match beautifully, I’m very Happy! I was told the delivery would be between 12 and four. The delivery men called me an hour before they delivered, and then 10 minutes before they arrived at my house. It was a very easy process. The next time I need furniture, I will definitely shop at Penny Mustard.
Janice helped me with picking out my furniture and she was very patient, informative and helpful. The in store experience is one I would repeat in the future. When my furniture arrived the movers used caution while moving to not ding my walls. They were nice and helpful. recommended

I recently had an awful experience with Penny Mustard. Many delays with my piece as apparently they are NOT committed to timely delivery. The problem being once you order something and pay the deposit it is of little concern as to when you will actually receive it. They notified three separate times of delays. If you need a piece by a specific date DO NOT count on it!!! As the holidays approach don’t expect your piece to be where you need it when you need it. Spoke with Janice the store manager who was VERY unpleasant. I had hoped for a smooth transaction and I received anything but.I want to make it clear to all interested parties the response from the company 👇 is an out and out fabrication. They never offered me the floor model. This would have saved the day. This is a LIE to save face with future customers. This is more evidence that YOU should take your business elsewhere.

This was my first Penny Mustard purchase, but DEFINITELY won’t be my last! I needed a sectional for the cottage I am building in Indiana. I was extremely leery with all the COVID related delays especially furniture made overseas. I’ve always enjoyed the Penny Mustard commercials that I’ve heard on WGN Radio 720 and thought I would check them out. From start to finish, I could not possibly have had a better experience. My salesperson, Lynnanne Bernstein, was helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. I was kept firmly “in the loop” about delivery dates and times. I even had to request a delay, which was no problem. I received my couch today, actually EARLIER then the designated time (which they called and asked my permission for). And I am delighted! We received delivery of a queen sleep sofa today. I was not very optimistic that it would fit through our narrow bedroom doorway, but the delivery guys were very good - they took the feet off and the bedroom door off and just managed to squeeze it in.I definitely have to complement them on their professionalism and the care they took, and now we can properly enjoy our new guest room.

Weve had our furniture for a couple weeks now and we absolutely love it! So well made and so comfortable. Kim called the day of delivery to make sure everything went smoothly and to make sure the delivery team was professional and courteous, which they were. They wore masks and took the time to explain how to connect the two sectional pieces. This furniture is well worth the price in my opinion. Be sure to ask for Kim if you visit Penny Mustard, shes the best!I recently visited the Schaumburg Penny Mustard store to look for family room furniture. I gave salesperson Kim Markman an idea of the types of pieces I was looking for and told her that my style is rustic. First things she did was take me to look at a sectional that included a cuddler piece. Its a oversized corner seat and I immediately loved it! I picked the love seat/cuddler sectional as well as a two arm chaise chair. She then took me to the fabric selection and after telling her my color scheme, she immediately started pulling samples to show me. She encouraged me to take them home to see how I liked them. I have a hard time making decisions like this but she was very patient and offered great advise on color selections and coordinating pillow fabrics. When it came time to place the order, I was still second guessing some of my choices and she politely and calmly walked me back on to the floor to review other options, again offering good advice on pros and cons on what would look the best in my space. I finally settled on my pieces and color choices and I cant wait to see them. The furniture at Penny Mustard is such high quality and therefore, not cheap, but I know it will be so worth it. Its going to be soooo much better then what we have now. I would highly recommend Penny Mustard and Kim. Thank you Kim for all your patience and guidance!

You can buy something off the sales floor, or you can choose to pick the wood, stain, finish, edging, legs, and upholstery; or just one of the things.The furniture is expensive, but not just because they decided to make it that way. You are investing in solid wood, quality pieces, that you will be keeping for a very long time, if not forever.Our sales person was amazing. If you go to Penny Mustard and don’t see a sales person, that’s because they don’t work on commission and numbers. These people are dedicated to getting to know you and making sure you find the piece that fits you no matter how long that takes. We certainly can’t return every month for another piece, but when we are ready to add another “forever piece” to our home, we will most certainly be returning to Penny Mustard.The delivery people where great as well. They entered our home with respect for our space and took the time to make sure everything was in the right place, and that we got a full run down of how to take care of our new furniture.

First time walking into the Schaumburg, IL Penny Mustard store and was fortunate enough to work with Lynnanne! I had been searching and searching for a small narrow bookcase and could not find anything that would fit with my current furniture. Found the perfect piece at Penny Mustard and Lynnanne was fabulous in guiding me through the ordering process, with color choices, type of wood and door pulls. The pieces was delivered a few days ago, and it has exceeded my expectations! It is absolutely beautiful and perfect in my room! The delivery was quick and exactly on time! Smithe over the years, and I have to say, Penny Mustard blows both of them away in terms of furniture quality and customer service! Its not even close. After all the money spent at the other two places, not once did anyone call to ask if I was happy with the pieces and/or the delivery, not once!! We poured so much hard work and love into the project that we wanted to make sure the furniture was up to snuff. After trying many other stores, we gave Penny Mustard a try. This is how we came to know Janice, the General Manager of this location. She greeted us warmly and made it clear from the very beginning that there was no pressure to buy and that all she cared about was our comfort, happiness, and physical wellbeing. Then she made a point of educating us on how the furniture is made, finance options, and warranty benefits.We took a fair amount of time picking out the items we wanted, primarily because we both suffer from serious back problems. Despite our lengthy stay, Janice was nothing but caring, informative, and patient. With financing, she helped us get the best deal for what we wanted and we left the store on cloud 9! I cant wait to receive our new furniture, and I will recommend Janice to anyone looking for stress free furniture buying experience. Once it happens, you will never go back again. Haha

Wonderful service felt welcomed in schaumburg store. We needed new furniture as furniture was destroyedThe staff was great to work with us listening to what we want and took time to pick out colors and changes as we finally made a decision. They worked with our time schedule and budget. Since then we ordered three times from them. Staff works well together. Service is great with delivery and customer service calling to schedule delivery around our schedule.

My wife and I worked with Kortillous this weekend. Fantastic experience. We had Kortillous running all over the store as we looked at several options and available choices for bedroom furniture. He was fantastic to work with providing insight on options. Penny Mustard has high quality furniture, but what really made the difference is the staff. Kortillous let us take our time, had a great personality and he realized that this would be a major purchase for us. No pressure and always happy to let us review everything over and over again.

A week ago I visited Penny Mustard furnishing after my husband and I spent a full Saturday going to several furniture stores to purchase a new leather sofa. The day that we went we were unsuccessful at purchasing which lead me to Penny Mustard Furnishing in Schaumburg the following day. Although we purchased from a competitor in the area I wanted to briefly make note of the professionalism and impeccable customer service I received from Kortilious - a Penny Mustard Sales Consultant at the Schaumburg location.Upon walking in I was greeted with a warm welcome and advised if there was anything I needed he would assist. He was veryhelpful, knowledgeable, patient, and most importantly not pushy in anyway. I was allotted the time I needed to walk around the store. He later approached me providing me with all the necessary information I needed to make a purchase that I could be comfortable with. I can be very indecisive during purchases however Kortilious never showed any sign of not wanting to continue to assist me regardless if I made a purchase or not.I appreciate and value great customer service so when it is given to me I want to ensure the consultant well as the business he or she works for understands that they have someone amazing on staff. Although in the end I purchased from competitor, I truly appreciate the customer service that was provided to me during my visit. Kortilious was amazing! We ordered a beautiful dining table that was initially scheduled to be in sometime this week. Now weve been told that the table has been delayed indefinitely until sometime in September. Are you kidding me? We already spent a large amount of money on this table, and was promised it would be delivered in 10 weeks. Now youre basically saying we have to wait again... Terrible customer service. Will not do business with this company ever again.
Bought a bedroom set for what is now our three year old. Had two issues; the first being an improperly finished section of the dresser along with slightly misaligned drawers and the second was incomplete hardware for the convertible portion of the bed.In both instances, the issues were rectified within 24 hrs of notifying the company. While I expect furniture of this caliber and cost to come issue free, I do appreciate the prompt and no-questions-asked service. The quality of the pieces are also superior compared to your target or jc penny brands.
My fiancée and I bought our very first couch together and it happened to be here at Penny Mustard, with Tom’s super friendly help! This came after having visited 7 different home furniture stores, with no luck. We had very “specific” requirements: deep cushions, comfy/soft cushion foam, grey in color, non-sectional just 1 long piece, within our budget, and the most vital requirement and perhaps challenging to find, apparently....it had to sit 4-6 ppl! That’s an 11ft to 12ft sized couch! Who buys such a behemoth couch?! We do. Not a problem because we were able to customize the exact couch we needed without settling for a pre-made couch that didn’t fit the dimensions we were set on. Once we decided, “yup this is the place”, Tom streamlined the process by going through the customization in a timely fashion—he even gave us tips on what fabrics to choose for the throw pillows. He made it so easy. Badda-bing-Banda-boom, we left having felt so satisfied with our couch order and left to celebrate. If you’re looking for a standard couch, they have it, and if you’re like us and need something that fits your non-standard living room, check this place out! Friendly and patient Tom would be more than happy to tell you how to grill a pizza AND help you find an awesome furniture piece.

We were exceptionally well served by Lennane, Janice and Kortillous in our search for new furniture for our condo. The significance of this was our downsizing from a 97 year old 4,300 sq ft home to a 2,800 sq ft condo. Lennane was creative and patient in helping us select the furniture that exceeded our expectations.
