Unfortunately we had (and continue to have) a terrible experience with 831 Kitchen Baths Design. We paid them several thousand dollars for new bathroom cabinets. We gave the owner, John, our dimensions and told him the cabinet would be installed against a wall. We also showed him several pictures of our bathroom, showing the wall and the existing cabinets installed against them.We had some minor hiccups with the order (they werent delivered to our house, they arrived without shelves, etc.) but John addressed those. The real problem occurred when it came time for installation. It was discovered that the cabinets John ordered were not intended to be installed against a wall, such that the cabinet would need to be modified or replaced in order to have it installed properly (as installed, the cabinet did not provide enough room for an adjacent toilet and the doors could not open properly against the wall). After we informed John of this, he came to our house to look at the cabinets. He admitted that he ordered the wrong cabinet type and apologized profusely for the issue. He promised that he would order a strip to space the cabinet properly and have his contractor do the work and he thanked us over and over for allowing him to get the repairs done. Although we could have demanded a new cabinet, we just wanted the work done and we were glad John was stepping up. At least that is what he led us to believe at the time.John then brought his contractor to our house (presumably to figure out what had to be done to get the cabinet installed with the new strip). The strip John had with him was the wrong one, and his contractor ended up trying to argue with our contractor about how the cabinet was installed. Then, John emailed me (with what I could only characterize as a total CYA email) and completely backed out of his agreement to fix the cabinets. His email didnt even mention that he ordered the wrong cabinets or his promise to us to fix it. He basically told us to take it up with our contractor.Now, we are still waiting for John to provide the parts we need to essentially retrofit the wrong cabinet, and he has not responded, even though we reluctantly told him that we would have our contractor address the issue. In the meantime, Johns error has cost us months without use of our bathroom and many hours of wasted time trying to get him to resolve this issue.What is really frustrating for us is that we were paying customers who just wanted what we ordered. We would have certainly spent much more money with 831 Kitchen for our faucets, mirror, knobs, etc. had John simply fulfilled his promise to fix the situation. Now, we will have to get the cabinet replaced or somehow retrofit it to work in our space without any assistance from the company that ordered the wrong cabinet in the first place.
