Goldwater Brewing offers a wide variety of great tasting craft beer. Whether you like IPAs, sours, goses, brown ales, or stouts, Goldwater brews one for you. Thanks to John for a good conversation and being a friendly guide to help me narrow down the choices in my beer selection. I will be back to sample more.
Parker, the bartender is the absolute best. We are visiting from out of state, and not only did he treat us well, he spent time with us and wrote out a list of food recommendations in the area. Goldwater is one of our favorite places to visit in Old Town, and Parker makes our experience 10-times better. The beer is delicious and everybody here is so knowledgeable and nice. I highly recommend this brewery! Atmosphere is also fantastic!
Wow I am stunned! What an amazing gem in the south side of old town, the staff is outstanding, the service is unbeatable, and the beer... let me tell you, you don’t find this quality everywhere! I love the staples of the beer menu and the limited releases are just 🤌! 10/10 always recommend. Everyone who bartends here serves you with a smile, it’s an absolute wholesome brewery!
Friendly service from the bartender. Some of their beers were quite good, while others were average at best. Prices are slightly high. Nice ambiance. There is indoor and outdoor seating options. They have a decent selection of beer, but could expand their sour and non IPA selections (maybe a scotch ale?).
A+ brewery! Really impressive that a brewery in AZ can do the NE IPA so well. Love that they do an Altbier, and really nail the style. Thats my new benchmark for that style!
Great beer here. I’ve only stopped by and grabbed some to go, and it was good. Will have to come back for more!!
One of the best brewery experiences I have ever had. Amy was incredibly welcoming and provided the best service Ive had at any restaurant or brewery. She went out of her way to make sure we had the beers we wanted and made us feel like we were regulars at the brewery. I couldnt recommend an establishment any higher than this. Im not paid to say these things if that should ever cross your mind. Just an incredibly fun place to have a fantastic locally made beer with beautiful people running the place. If you like good beer, people and music.... just go!!!
We kept meaning to stop by here upon recommendation of a few friends, but never had the chance. Finally, we made the time and we are so glad we did! This place has quality beers for affordable prices. The bartender was friendly and offered excellent recommendations. The other patrons were friendly and welcoming. Be sure to stop by and grab a brew or two!
Pilsner is very good. Laid back atmosphere
Visiting from Denver. Went to several breweries in the city and 2 up in Sedona. This one was by far the best.Great beer, great service, great atmosphere. When I go to a micro brewery I want to fell like Im at a brewery, not just another restaurant that serves beer. If your looking for dinner or lunch go to one of the other places, if you want a great brewery to relax and have a good beer, go here!!
I think these guys and Wren House make the best beer in the Phoenix area. The big boys AZ wilderness and four peaks really just don’t come close in my opinion. The taproom is a cool space, with all the brew equipment visible which makes for a cool vibe. They also have a small patio which is solid for warm nights. Make sure to try machine gun teddy, there’s a reason it was a medal winner at the GABF. The rest of the beers I’ve tasted have all been above average and span a wide range of styles for all taste preferences. Make sure to ask about the history of the building, it’s a cool story and inspires the machine gun teddy beer!
Great spot for a socially distanced drink on a Friday!Fantastic brewery and place to hang out! Great place to grab a drink for happy hour or any time of the day. Service here is top notch. Parker always brightens our day and will steer you in the right direction. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed. Beer is good, beer garden is even better.
Well, I had been trying to get here for a while. Always enjoyed their online vibe and like Hop Chowder, so did a staycation at the Phoenician for the wife’s 50th and specifically made plans around their area to finally stop in. It was a Saturday evening and we sat at the patio. Was a very awkward barrel top table that you really can’t rest your arms on. Scanned the QR and had a server come over. I asked if they did flights because I didn’t see it listed and I was really wanting to try all the lights and IPA’s. He said, let me get you a flight board and walked off. Had no clue I actually ordered, but he came with four beers and said these are 4 lights. Let me know when you want more. Kind of a weird interaction and not a lot of explanation of what was set down, but it’s beer and we are easy going. Tasted the 4 and they were good, but we really wanted to get to the IPAs..but nope. No one came back. We didn’t see our server and after about 20 minutes I had to walk to the front just to get someone. I cashed out and left pretty disappointed. Atmosphere and facility looked good. Not sure what the deal was, but bummed since we always try to support locals.
We like coming here because they are dog-friendly. The bartenders are great.
This is my neighborhood watering hole and I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect. All of the beer tenders here are the coolest, laid back and knowledgeable folks. The beer that Goldwater churns out is always innovative, delicious and creative. They’ve certainly found their style and being able to hone in on those flavors that make their beer pop is something special and is what makes them who they are. The space here is amazing - always a chill vibe and can accommodate huge crowds but also doesn’t feel empty or lonely when there’s only a few people around either. With seating options inside, outside, on the upper balcony, or downstairs in the Goldmine, there’s always a different little pocket of the brewery to explore. I love this place so much - please don’t change anything about the way you guys are doing things! Keep it up and you’ll continue to have a fan base swinging through for plenty of years!
Great beer and great people. Best brewery I went to while visiting Phoenix and Tucson. Check this out. Avoid Greenwood brewing, that was my worst experience. Place had meh beer and people were even a little rude.
Nice selection of craft brews with a nice environment. Love the pick your own flight.
Clean establishment, beer looked refreshing unfortunately we where not acknowledged asnew customers.
Not very cool inside, wobbly tables, no food/snacks. Beer was ok.
A chill spot with fantastic brews and nice folks...not sure what more you want really.
John @ Goldwater impressed me by striking a convo that differs from the normal bartender/customer relations before I even ordered a drink! Then after treated me as a friend than a customer
Great place to host a birthday party I went there for my friends birthday had a really great time there...
Great place, staff, and excellent beer! Im from a beer utopia, Oregon, when traveling I cant always find great beer. Goldwater Brewery is really good, Ill definitely be back!
My wife and I had a good time!. Itd been a while since I came down to old town scottsdale. Bldg also had memories for me at one point in time in yester yr same bldg was my auto detail shop
The Scottsdale location did not have much on tap compared to other places I’d been to around Phoenix, and had kind of a weird vibe. I was hoping for a little more space in the taproom, but it ended up feeling touristy and cramped. The beer was ok. The Desert Rose and Machine Gun Teddy were great, but some of the IPAs were a little less than exciting.
My 2nd time here! This time I was here for a can release! The bartenders were really cool today! They had a great attitude and had some really great suggestions! They tried to get the channel changed so I could watch the race. Guess the firestick wouldn’t load it. Tried Hop Chowdah (pictured) so good!Always loved the stouts here! Great location. Parking, if you have been in this area, is a little rough. I love this brewery!!!
Great Hazy Here
Stopped in fresh off a flight to Phoenix. Beer tenders were attentive and helpful explaining the beers to our group, who were not versed in craft beer. Great beers and a cool place to stop in and have a beer!
Outstanding craft brewery. The best lager I’ve had outside of the beer tent in Munich 🙏🏻.
Some of the finest brew I have had in Scottsdale. The beer is really fresh and tasty and the service is excellent
I think this brewery is one of the best in the valley. Theyre always experimenting. If you can get downstairs in the goldmine, it is a really cool spot.
Nice space near Old Town Scottsdale. My wife was very satisfied with the Porter. I had two of the IPAs and they were good. If the weather is okay for outdoor seating it is very nice. Small indoor space it the weather is not cooperating. Definately worth a stop if you are in the area.
Their beer is awesome. There service is horrible. If you wanna be ignored by a female bartender for 20 minutes great place to get a drink. Never going back again.
Great beers. Loved the Scotchdale. You should try the Scotchdale in Scottsdale ;-)I wish they had a kitchen for some snacks to order.
Awesome time with Tim for a beer tasting for the guys to select for the wedding. Thanks Chad for the great service of your crew.
Incredibly well done! John, Amy and of course Parker make you feel right at home.
Nicest bartender I have met
Taster flights available. Food truck parked in front. We orders from Brat Haus: big, soft pretzels with beer cheese.
Tatsy brews. Great staff and service.
Great guys to talk too. Good beer
Meh. Parking is a nightmare during peak hours, their own beer is cheaper at other restaurants/bars (Hop Chowda is a full $2 cheaper at Cornish Pasty .... why???), and it’s just sorta otherwise average.
Top notch brewery in downtown Scottsdale. Great selection and friendly bar staff. We stayed for a couple hours and enjoyed several different brews. If youre into quality beer youll need to check this place out!!
Great beer & location, with cool staff & service
John is great! Superb customer service. Nice beer selection
Comfortable setting, great staff, delicious beer and dogs. Perfect.
Great spot to hangout outdoors and grab a few beers
Great atmosphere and great crew at this spot.
Great beers and back patio!
Great patio, great beer and great vibes!
Great place, good beer!
Best Brewery around
This is The spot. Regular here for a good reason. Dont miss out, new beers constantly on rotation. Bartenders ALL homies. Stop reading, and go!!!
Over a few visits we have experienced great bartenders and great beer. The staff has been friendly, attentive and always thanks us for our business when we cash out and leave. Atmosphere is unique with the brew room setting. No food is served but we highly recommend this stop for pre dinner drinks.
Great little brewery. All the beer that we tried was excellent. Had a good selection of dark and lighter beers. They had multiple beers made with locally sourced cactus.
We are from out of town and my friend recommended this place. It was about 23 minutes away from out hotel, but it was definitely worth the drive. I tried almost all of their beers and they were all great. The cactus one had a perfect taste that was not to sweet. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. I met the owner and his wife and they were very nice as well. Next time were in town we will be back!
I discovered this brewery last week while visiting Scottsdale. Im a big fan of micro breweries so when I saw this I had to go in. This place did not disappoint me. Amazing beer and service. I definitely enjoyed the Hop Chowda and Broccoli on Acid. Canning of the 32oz BFB is cool to see. We went 3 different days when we were there. The first day we had John and with his service and the way he treated all of his customers was amazing. He made the experience there fun and enjoyable. Will definitely be back the next time Im in Scottsdale.Dave
Good beer...nice patio
