I started going to Bronsons to get my guitars set up about 15 years ago when he was just starting out. BTW, he did a great job. Fast forward to today, hes THE guitar store in town catering to locals like George Benson, Nils Lofgren, to name-drop a few. And, by the way, hes the same humble, master craftsman of 15 years ago when we first met.

Finding a new luthier for my guitars was like finding a new babysitter for my children. I took my SG and Les Paul and waited 6 weeks. Now I know its for a reason. Wow! The upgrades they recommended were what I needed. Ive never had these 2 guitars play so incredible since Ive owned them. The set ups alone are worth the wait. I found my new babysitter. Never taking my guitars anywhere else.

My poor beat beyond belief dream guitar that I bought in 1996, a late 70s Les Paul Custom, needed a total refret and a serious overhaul. My all time dream guitar. I did a lot of research prior to entrusting my prize guitar to not just anybody, and my expectations were not only met but far exceeded. No dead spots anywhere on the neck and they do repairs for the good of the guitar and not to rip you off. They are honest and go above and beyond. Give their buffing service a try - a must for a worn out nitrocellulose finish thats almost 45 years old. They will give you the best advice just like an old friend would with ZERO arrogance or contempt, only the voice of experience. Trustworthy to say the very least, and highly experienced. Go on. Why worry about what youre going to get back? Save yourself the nerves, dont go to just anybody. My 45 year old guitar plays like brand new. Thanks, fellas, and especially the fretmaster Lou.

Second trip there I am a repeat customer. First job a crushed acoustic they fixed to perfection, second trip the most fabulous set up Ive had on a guitar. Love this shop, they do what they say theyll do and their tech is top notch.

I took in my acoustic with a major bridge problem. The guitar isnt worth much, but Ive had it for so long I wanted it repaired rather than trashed. They dealt with it professionally, treated me and it with respect, and did a great job reseting the bridge and doing some bracing. Guitar sounds better than it ever has. Highly recommend these folk.

They will literally fix anything. DO NOT go to milanos or guitar center, they will overcharge and not fix entirely. I speak from experience.

Brought in a Fender Strat for a setup and a Fender Hotrod Deluxe amp for repairs. The Strat feels so good now and the action is so so smooth. The amp needed tubes and some adjustments and sounds great. I chose Bronson Guitar Works because of their reputation and because they had previously set up three guitars and a bass that a son had brought in. Dan is the man to choose and trust.

Grateful for this place! After moving to the valley in June 2018 I have searched and tried a couple other guitar repair folks with no luck. In my experience, it has been difficult to find one who knows their trade and can do it well. I feel I need look no further. Bronson is the place! I had an Electric guitar and bass worked on and it exceeded my expectations. My guitar was already up to par, just need some fine tuning. Both my bass and guitar play and feel so much better now. I feel at ease after finding these guys and will be returning for sure with other instruments.

Super happy with the services provided for my guitar!I brought in an I expensive Squier strat for some new pickups and a set up.I couldnt be more pleased. My fretboard actually looks like a nice pice of wood instead of one single color of brown. The frets are polished nicely and the ends dressed perfectly.This was my first interaction and certainly wont be my last.

Brought my guitar to Bronson Guitar Works and is the first time I used them, and I am so glad I did. It was a brand new guitar threat had no output on bridge pickup. It also had a semi-deep scratch on it I wanted to have fixed. They also did a setup and it needed to have the truss rod adjusted. When I got the guitar back, it was set up beautify and of course the bridge pickup was fixed. I couldnt tell that there was ever a scratch on it. This is the best experience I have had with a luthier. Thank you Bronson Guitar Works!

Great service and extremely friendly staff. They did amazing work on my bass I brought in. I would highly recommend them. My guitar needed intonation adjustments beyond my capabilities and patience levels. They went above and beyond expectations by completely running through the electronics, cleaning out the dust and built up debris, cleaning up the neck and frets, and adjusting my intonation. My guitar plays a million times better than when I brought it in.

Wonderful place, I have been taking guitar lessons in the back of this shop for about 2 years, and they are always very nice and friendly. I have had a few guitars fixed here, and they always come back with superb work. I always look forward coming here every Sunday, and is always the highlight of my week. This shop feels like a second home, as I have made many friends in the staff, and in the many random characters that always stroll through here that you would never find anywhere else, apart from a video game. Here you will find great service, legendary skills, and the ALMIGHTY guitar gods Dan and John. Being that I am a high school student, I will end this review as I end any paper that I am turning in (though this is a little better than my run-of-the-mill papers I do at 12 AM). Hands down the best guitar shop I’ve been to so far! The staff is amazingly friendly, funny, and just downright great human beings. I presented them a seemingly impossible problem of finding pegs that fit my un proportional guitar without having mess with the headstock. Yet they managed to find out a way to make it work! Highly recommend this great shop.

This hands down is the best most reputable and professional guitar shop in Arizona. I have had my Gibson acoustic to multiple places in the valley to set up my guitar (awesome Gibson quality control) anyways... no one could get it right my $1600 guitar played like poop. After hundreds of dollars in amateur work from other places who I won’t say the name... but they failed. I finally took my guitar to Bronson. I had a logical conversation with John who took the time to make sure of my expectations. Tell me what needed to be done. I picked up my guitar and was absolutely floored. It was like an entirely different guitar. Played, sounded and looked amazing. I will NEVER have my guitars go anywhere but here.

Its a good shop. I think they charge a lot and they are slow to give you back gear. I had an issue with part compatibility and instead of reaching out they didnt and just installed and drilled into my guitar anyways. Brought another repair in for some light work and I feel over charged and underwhelmed by the service. Nice guys, great location, just wish I felt better about the turn around times and quality of work. Simple stuff should be fine. More complex stuff, Im not sure....I dont want to give them with a bad review but I am underwhelmed.

Bronson Guitar Works are the best guitar repair shop in Old Town Scottsdale. Mark Bronson is one of the greatest experts when it comes to repairing and upgrading all types of guitars out there. If you are serious about guitar playing and making it sound at its peak level, you must take it here. Bronson Guitar Works rocks. I have had my electric guitars taken here and they gave me a great deal on repairs and upgrades. Highly highly recommended.

Great place to take your new or old guitars for setup! Take in a mid-grade knock off and they will having it sound like the pro level model. Ive had bass, electric, and acoustics set up here and they have all been spectacularly playable and sound like gold.

I am so wary (car salesman-like wary) when leaving my guitar for someone else to work on. I knew my guitar needed work, and I knew it wasnt going to be only a set-up with a change of strings. John recommended what should be done and quoted a price. I was hesitant. Ive never been to his shop before. I didnt want to take it to a big-box music store, so I agreed to get the work done.Man, nothing beats a quality custom shop. It feels better than new. It will need a few personal playing tweaks here and there, but I couldnt be more pleased with the work. It was money well spent.

I brought my ‘74 Gibson Hummingbird in to have the action reset. I have another guitar and always gravitated towards playing it because the Gibson just wasn’t as fun to play.Im very happy to say that my preference is the complete opposite now thanks to the guys at Bronson GW’s. Well what can I say! A lot actually. I’ve been a customer for 25 years. There is no other place I would bring my guitar. I guarantee that if you bring your instrument to this place you’ll get nothing but the highest quality of service and professionalism. What stands out to me is they treat everyone with the same amount of respect no matter what their level. They service a great number of high end clients down to the beginner. All treated with the same quality of workmanship and respect. They even give a 90 day guarantee on their work. Who does that? Skip the Big Box Stores as you will never get the quality and pride of craftsmanship you’ll get here.

Second time here with the same problem-prone amp (ampeg svt-cl) and they again surpassed my expectations! To assure the power issue I was having had been fixed by their soldering job, two of the guys sat with the amp for a long period of time to playtest it. Above and beyond work and crazy cost efficient. Trust these guys with your gear!

I cant say enough about how great my experience was dealing with Bronson Guitars. They recently serviced two very valuable guitars of mine, one that was rendered unplayable by Richard Beck. The entire staff was extremely friendly, honest, and spent plenty of time discussing my options. The work was reasonably priced, and was completed sooner than expected. The employees are pleasant and the teachers are professional and know what theyre talking about. They also take pride in their products as they give you long term warranties on their electric guitar cords, etc. Because I love this place so much, I tried to donate Bronson Guitar Works one of my old guitars and they decided to fix it up and donate it to someone who wouldnt be able to afford it. Took my guitar in because my bridge pickup was dead. The old pickup was a Pearly Gates Pus which was a Strat specific version of the Pearly Gates that Duncan made for Fender. They don’t make those pickups anymore. Rather than having me choose a different bridge pickup as a replacement Bronson Guitar Works hand wound me a new pickup to the Pearly Gates Plus specs. I could not be happier with the result. Wow that new pickup sounds fantastic. I will always take my guitars to these guys.

Had a great experience with this long standing guitar/amp sales and repair shop. I recently decided to put together a guitar from scratch and needed many parts customized to make it all come together. These guys not only helped me with the vision of the project but went over and above as far as putting it together. They even stayed long past closing time in order to get my guitar finished for me. Cant think of many places that would do that. im very very pleased with the service and expertise.

Mark is a friendly guy. Ive taken my equipment to him and been very satisfied. He shares a lot of information and makes you feel comfortable that they know what theyre doing. No job or question too small for attention. Take your stuff here.

It was just a good experience. My guitar had a broken string and I was getting some fret buzz. So I took it in for a setup and new strings and within a few days it was ready. Ill say the prices were fair and for how my guitar sounds now, well worth it. Mark was very kind and the whole atmosphere was pretty much what I had hoped for, laid back but professional. So yeah, if you need some guitar work done I suggest checking them out. Worked out well for me!

These guys really know their stuff. I have had multiple guitars in for setups and upgrades at Bronson. Every time I am in the shop, Mark (One of the owners) always suggests the best course of action for what I am trying to achieve with the sound and playability of my guitars. I have never been sold anything I didnt need, and the owners always pay attention to what I want to do. Having been in the valley for a long time and the experience shows when you have a conversation with anyone at the shop. I would highly recommend them for anyone tired of the cookie cutter setups and inexperienced staff at larger music stores.

My father had bought a Gretsch Tennesean before he left for Vietnam. I played it until the finish on the neck was gone. The guitar had serious binding rot on the neck and body. Bronson rebound and re fretted the neck leaving an aged look. Professional and expertise-Thanks

Okay, have been procrastinating to long, need to write a review for Bronson Guitar Works. My score, 100%. I have been bringing my guitars, basses and amps into Bronsons forever. Why? because they do the work and do it well. They have always done what I needed and gone beyond the normal service center. I have had two custom guitars built here to the specs I laid out, they smoke!!!!!!! They are full service, from strings, to full set-ups, to repair of broken necks and are a factory service center for 98% of the companies out there. I am always bringing in instruments to be modded and hot rodded, and have always had what needed to be done finished and in my hands perfect. You cant go wrong here, if you are a musician and need anything for your equipment, if they dont have it, they can get it. Thank you Bronsons for all your help and work you have done for me over the years and will continue to do. A+++++++++.
