Smart & Final is pretty great. Good deals and fresh Rotisserie chicken we buy from here often. It’s always really good. There is a wide variety of fresh produce, lots of dairy products and almost everything else you’d expect a good grocery store to have. The checkout is also the best I’ve seen from any grocery store. It’s one line, and it funnels to 5 different checkout lanes. This is smart because it makes checking out much simpler and fluid, unlike Safeway’s poor checkout spaces that confuse customers and becomes overly crowded quickly.

Good store for necessary beach supplies like beer and wine. They sell fire logs if you wanna catch a night fire by the tides.

This day was 2 days before Thanksgiving. They were out of what my friend needed (not related to holiday) and I was not gonna wait in line with about 10 people in front of me for 2 sweet potatoes. But, normally I would give a 5 star to them!

This is a quick in-and-out store as a general rule... They have great prices on meat!... A great place to buy in bulk without the long hassle like other stores... They also make a really great rotisserie chicken ready to go... With some amazing Hawaiian rolls... And some potato salad dinners done in minutes

5 stars: shelves stocked, plenty of meat and they have a unique way of keeping the line moving and keeping everyone spaced 6 feet. Wonderful!

This store has a nice variety of groceries and food items at reasonable prices. I like to go shop there regularly. However, they usually run out of some items without filling up their space. Moreover, it is hard to find someone working there to ask them to bring more or how to get the items. Furthermore, I have found that I would be charged for some items more than whats written on the price tag. This has been happening a lot lately.

I quit going here awhile ago when the McDonald’s was open and the trailer park in the parking lot was poppin 24/7 because I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my bike locked in front of the store. But that’s pretty much cleaned up now, and this is a cool place to shop. They have early bird markdowns on produce and baked goods, and a brand of tamales I like, and I appreciate the effort to reclaim an area for civilization, and the wide selection of food items.

The products are great. You have a lot of options offered at a great price. You also can buy fresh fruit,vegetables, and herbes. The only downside is the customer service. Employees over there rarely help you or smile at you. The manger himself can use some training on how to keep customers coming back.

I am a concessionaire that does multiple fairs throughout the year and absolutely rely on Smart & Final. I have always found them to be extremely helpful, and generally accommodating for all of my needs and the prices are pretty good. I would absolutely recommend the store anyone who needs to buy in bulk if theres not a Costco avail.

Great deals on produce, though not great quality. Good deals on store-brand cleaning products and the like. A lack of cashiers can lead to long lines, but basically, this is a good place for your staple goods.

Great source of cheap and healthy and yummy things. Not a grocer with tons of fresh veggie or meat products, but other than that, great. And for some reason a chef seems to be in the back producing delicious $7 whole chickens every day. Heh. I mean this is just a fact.An entire star off though for being the slowest checkout lines that Ive ever experienced in Monterey County.Anyone who would do well to shop here should also allow another 10 minutes just to check out. Head-shakes, eye-rolls, harrumphs, I just want to buy even a single thing......I mean be prepared to push your full cart to an adjacent aisle just to go down it away from checkout, just to take a perpendicular turn and another so as to be properly behind another waiting member in the line with a full cart. As is proper conduct.50% of every shoppers experience/time-spent here is in my estimation--waiting in line to just buy their products and leave. At times its even more ridiculous...

I waited in line over 10 minutes to buy a pie that I really did not want. you see I been waiting on them to get their chocolate cake in from First street their number one vendor and they keep saying Oh not on this load!!! I really can not understand, since I did work in a large grocery store, when a customer request something we did everything in our power to get it right for them!! I had to settle for this pie for a new client, which I did not how it was going to taste. The cake has always been reliable before several times. I had spoken to several people at the store including the manager and explained that I was hoping to be able to purchase at least two to three a week and they still can not get it in. I was very understanding the first two weeks but now I think I should write a review and see if anyone else is having the same problem

Be careful shopping here. An item scanned at 15.99 when the tag clearly said 9.40. When I brought this to the cashiers attention, and she seen the tag on the floor, she refused to do a price adjustment. After calling the manager he also refused to take care of the problem. False advertising to say the least. Both the cashier and the manager were very rude. Customer service obviously isnt a priority. Watch what your items are ringing up verses the price on the floor. Will not shop here anymore.

This place is in between Costco and lucky, some things in bulk and other things sold in regular size. But last time we went we got to the register and they didnt ring up half the things on sale and just seemed generally annoyed, so I just said screw it Ill never come back here. There are plenty of other places to go to in seaside, good fruit and wine selection though.

Staff is courteous and helpful. Store is clean and organized. Very easy to find merchandise. As a disabled senior citizen this is my favorite place to shop!!

Smart & Final ftw! This place is SUPER cheap, and it was recently remodeled. Brand new expansion includes me freezers and liquor/wine/beer section. Excellent alternative to grocery outlet or Costco groceries.

The selection and pricing is great but my customer service experience was horrible. They need to train thier employees in some inter personal relations and work ethics.I am sure not every employee is as bad as the person I dealt with.

We needed another set of an item they only had one of. They said we could call and they would set them aside for us. So we called the other branch, at least a half hour away, and were told they had them and he would put them aside. Once we got there, no one had any idea where they were and they didnt have more. Such. A. Waste. Of. Time.

Always find what I need at a great price but check out lines tend to be long.

The front end needs management bad! Since the remodel, the service is substandard and leaves me angry every time I leave. The wait times and long lines are unreasonable. Clerks appear as if they are clueless and no one appears to be in charge. Then, over the last three weeks Ive been in, there remains a horrible screeching noise every time the front door opens or closes...oucccch! Somebody call Maintenance before you get a workmans comp. or lawsuit!
