Chris and the team are up to date, honest and truthful. This was my second visit for my beautiful, older BMW. The first visit was an excellent repair job that was economical and gave me another 2 wonderful years. The final visit wasnt the news I wanted but it was accurate--the repairs were more than the car was worth. Who knew you could get small town compassion right here in Rainier Valley?

I got my car fixed up at the Everett location and they did great work, but Ford Focus were made with faulty transmissions and I had to bring it to the Seattle location to be checked out since Im too far from Everett. There are two gentlemen who are both named Chris and they were so incredibly kind and helpful. They did their absolute best to help me with my car and took extra time to give it attention in an attempt to figure out what the problem was. I definitely recommend this location. Not exactly affordable like they claim.But they do good work.*I felt a little pushed into having my car repaired there even though that is where I had it towed. I just knew it needed to be fixed. The bill to replace 2 axles is more than a bit steep at +1200 dollars seeing how I personally had replaced them once already 3months ago in July.I was supposed to receive a call back after the individual spoke to his boss (the owner) which Im guessing chose not to call today since there was no call to let me know if my request for a payment plan was approved.All in all they do good work but the customer service is seriously lacking. Im pretty upset about not receiving a call.

Super helpful! They had very prompt service and were pretty straightforward. They were also really professional and for a person who know nothing about cars it was a relief to find that someone could help me without the fear of being ripped off. They seem trustworthy.

This shop is amazing!!! We are from out of town and just as we were crossing through the tunnel into Seattle my driveline broke. Limped the truck to the shop where the owner and his guys immediately got to work figuring out the needed parts. They were all so kind and were able to get me and my buddies on the road before closing time. They also gave me a great price on parts and labor. Much less than my google search on cost of fixing it. Couldn’t say enough about how awesome and kind the owner and his employees are!!!

My 2009 Subaru Legacy was shaking and creating a wobble in the front. Chris,the manager, came out to meet me and listened to my story My car was in a bay in less than an hour. They diagnosed the problems and did a once over to fill fluids and recommended a new air filter. They were polite, the shop in clean and extremely honest. I plan on trading in the car to Subaru so suggested I hold off on ball joint replacement. I recommend this local business. Thanks Chris and crew!!!

Chris Lee and his staff took excellent care of me and my car. I was lucky enough to break down in the middle of the night outside Chriss shop. The next morning, he and his tech got right on it. They did their utmost to make sure my family car would be roadworthy in time for Thanksgiving, and the price I paid was very fair. Aamco in Seattle was the best experience I have ever had in car mechanics. Chris, the owner, Chris, the manager, and Allen all were incredibly helpful. They were upfront about price and helped me understand the work they needed to do on my car. They had great communication, and were able to get me set up with a rental car. This was my first time at Aamco, but will not be my last! I moved and their store is 20 minutes away but I would rather go to this Aamco than anywhere else. I trust them with my car and you can trust them too! If I could give them 6/5 stars I would!

Daughters vehicle was leaking transmission cooling fluid while on a trip to Seattle. Received an estimate to repair from another shop first that seemed excessive. Called and spoke to Allen and he took the vehicle in without an appointment. Provided me a description with photos over email. The vehicle was repaired and my daughter back on the road to home by 1pm the same day. Cost was 1/3 the estimate provided by another shop. Does not get any better than this. Thank you Allen.

Stuff stolen from my car was in AAMCO care for a month form the 7th of August to September 15th thay loat my key to the car and told me to pay for my key and pay for my car to get fix.i told them to find my key and fix my car on the 26th of August I went to AAMCO transmission after I got off work and told them I got the money for you guy so you can fix my car this chirs guy told me he not fixing my and he towing the car. So make a long story short the only thing AAMCO Transmission did for me is make me a new key and still have the same problem with my car it not fix

Extremely great experience, Allen and the team helped me out in a pinch. Had a small rock jammed in my breaks making some terrible noise, the guys got my truck in, fixed and back on the road in a few minutes. simple fix at zero charge. customer service at its finest. I will definitely think of these guys first for any car servicing needs.

Terrible place. How they do business is like scam. Watch out when they offer you finance option. They will tell you lie and try to sell you more services and increase the lease. You need to pay double what you bought from them. $1000 increase to $3000. Horrible place. Useless. I still can’t believe there’s a place like this still exist in Seattle and not caught. Everyone should be careful, they tell you lie and offer you services and make you borrow money from West Creek.

I have been using this AAMCO for several years now and have been moderately pleased. February of 2016 the center changed hands and I met the new manager and owner. They are a great team, very focused on providing quality service at reasonable prices, friendly and courteous and committed to building long term relationships here in the Rainier Valley. They will be getting all the repair work on my car, those of my family members, and I am recommending them to my friends. The new attitude of the shop is refreshing and everything I ask for in auto service.

Great Service! Where can you get nearly immediate car repair service and an honest, professional assessment - AAMCO on 23rd! I had a problem with my brakes and was able to bring the car in right away. They checked things out (nice, comfortable, spacious and clean waiting area) and explained things in a clear, concise way.They didnt push unneeded services or want to charge for anything unnecessary. Getting us back on the road safely seemed like their primary concern. They were honest about my options and thorough about recommendations for repair. I really appreciate everyone at their shop!

Wow, great service! Glen and Bryan were more than willing to help get our transmission dipstick unstuck to check the fluid level on our recently purchased Outback. It was much more of a challenge than they expected but they diligently worked through it with great patience so we could leave on our vacation with confidence that the transmission was in good shape. Then they added some grease to the dipstick fitting to ensure it would not stick again. Big thanks and much appreciated, would definitely recommend this AAMCO location!

This place was great. These guys are really friendly and honest. I feel like a lot of auto shops have a bad reputation of cheating the customer, but this place isnt one of them.I thought for sure there was something wrong with my car, possibly the transmission, so I bought it in to AAMCO. Turns out there was nothing wrong with it! They didnt charge me for their time looking for the problem. Nor did they make up something frivolous to fix. They were completely honest and they even let me keep it there free of charge while I went out of town for a week.I will absolutely be back.

I took my Subaru to this AAMCO while it was still under the old ownership with a sound coming from my transmission/clutch. They told me that there was a bad bearing somewhere in the transmission and that it would have to be dropped and rebuilt. I had 12 bearings replaced for a cost of $1900 and then the sound came right back within 6 months. At that point, they determined (guessed) it was the clutch and replaced the clutch. The sound finally went away and they gave me a price break on the clutch. Fast forward 15 months later and I was getting some whining out of my center differential. I went to check the fluids and discovered that the drain plug in the center differential was completely buggered. I had not touched it since the rebuild.The damage had been done during the rebuild. I took it in and was informed that the franchise was under new ownership and management and things would be better. They ordered a new drain plug and changed the differential oil. The cost was $191. I urge people to call around to see if a differential oil change is that expensive anywhere...probably not. In addition, they took no responsibility for the plug. Now that the oil had been changed, the whining sound persisted, so I knew it was not a simple case of low or dirty fluid. I was now told that the transmission would have to be dropped and rebuilt for at least 11 hours labor for a minimum of $1400 even though they agreed that the sound was coming from the center differential. In a Subaru, you do not need to remove the transmission to rebuild the center differential. I was clearly being deceived or Glen (the manager) had no idea what he was talking about. These guys (the new owner and Glen the manager) are what you should be wary of when you hear bad stories about auto repair shops. They are not knowledgeable enough to accurately diagnose transmission or differential noises and quickly opt to propose the most expensive service. The staff is nice enough, but they are unfortunately not empathetic to helping customers solve transmission issues at reasonable expense with clear and proven expertise. I do not think that much has changed with the new owner. You probably want to go elsewhere and get other estimates.

Went here cause my car had a large hum when stopped at a light and the dealership wasnt able to figure it out after taking my car in 3 times. The staff here took time to test drive and figure out where the hum was coming from and fixed the problem after ordering the parts needed. Quick and efficient! Definitely coming here again with more car issues. :)

Had my Mazda towed to the shop as I thought I had a differential issue. Sure enough, diagnoses is differential issue (FWD so inside transaxle). Chris quoted me on what it would take to get the car to drive off the lot, as well as other recommended fixes (most of which I was aware of).Quote was on par with other quotes I got, but ultimately it was in my best interest to just sell car in broken down condition as car was only worth a little more than the repair. Despite not spending a cent there, the manager Chris had some helpful advice, kept my car in the shop until I made up my mind what I wanted to do, and gave me a jump in the lot so that the guy who bought it off me (picked it up from me right there in the lot) could make sure the motor ran fine.If I have transmission issues again, I wont hesitate to come back.

I showed up after hours on a Saturday, not sure what was up with the battery on my car. Fortunately someone was there anyway, and he came out and helped me diagnose what was happening, quite quickly, and since he didnt have the part in stock necessary to fix it, he didnt even charge for the help. Im grateful for the great service!

The New Owner will take good care of you and your Vehicle

These people will give you a run for your money. Son is a great smooth talker and will convince you that your car needs a bunch of work but no worries because hes giving you a discount! All a lie. My $1,200 turned into over 3 grand and couldnt keep his story straight to me or my dad. I had my dad step in because I knew I was being played for a fool. He would say he said one thing to my dad just so I would sign the papers but then turns out he never did. The so called warranty on my car was supposed to be covered for ten years until I actually picked up my car a week after it was supposed to be done and said each year Im responsible for another 10%.If I would of known my one day fix for $1,200 and a full warranty for 10 years would of turned into 8 business days, 3grand later (oh plus the rental I had to pay for that he also gave me a discount on), and a warranty that deprecates every year I would of went somewhere else. Every time I take my car in he never fails to tell me I need to replace something. Keep looking for a better place to work on your car. I cant even Guarantee the job was done well and will hold up.

My car recently blew up on me. Turns out my transmission went ok it. A friend referred this place to me and I was so glad she did. The owner was honest and only fixed what was necessary. We were on vacation and in desperate need of warranty transmission repair. All the AAMCO shops except Seattle made excuses why they could not help us. Seattle AAMCO took in our motor home and got us back on the road. It was a tough job because of the size of the motor home and transmission. We cannot give Son the manager high enough kudos for helping us out. He always had a great attitude and was a pleasure to deal with. We put 1,000 trouble free miles on the motor home immediately after leaving Seattle and arrived home happy! Do yourself a favor and check with Son at Seattle AAMCO first!

If Edward Elder still works here...STAY AWAY! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!! He was the condescending manager of the Shoreline location where I took my car and now works at this location. Long story short...he is the KING of saying it will be ready tomorrow only to have it done 3 weeks later. But before I forget, let me state the fact that his Shoreline location closed and he neglected to inform me that my car was shipped off to an entirely different location. And to round things off, my transmission is acting up again and back in the shop. EDWARD ELDER IS HORRIBLE AND LAST KNOWN TO WORK AT THIS LOCATION!!! He will try and make you feel like you are being unreasonable. When he promises you something, and it falls through, IT IS YOUR FAULT! He sucks! Stay away!

Do NOT waste your time, money or effort with this place. They claimed they replaced something we advised had already been replaced multiple times (Axel & Seal) Of course I had to argue for a refund because after they replaced items car was still leaking transmission fluid with all the same symptoms and some added (ABS light & Traction control light was on). We ended up taking it to Transmission Xpress and they advised nothing had been done to the car, the Axel & Seal AAMCO claimed to have replaced was not even touched. They actually spray painted the seal to make it look like they replaced it. This place is a joke, they should be ashamed of themselves...

A bunch of snakes trying to take care of the city rat problem. One place quotes one thing. Other location quotes you another. Real shops uses real OEM dealer fluid. This shop is something else, probably puts water in all the cars fluids . Good thing Seattle has no clue what a car is so this place gets away with it. Avoid this like a plauge

Great communication to you as a client.I recently drove here from Virginia, and my car was in need of a little maintenance after the trip. I finally got fed up with the alarm going off about the oil and decided to call aamco at 2:45p on a weekday. I explained my needs to Chris, and ask if they could take me the same afternoon as it was late. He said if I could be there in the next 15 minutes and he would get it taken care of.I showed up and they immediately rolled my car into the bay. Just over 30 minutes later I was rolling out of there with brand new oil, my tires rotated, and they noticed my coolant was low and confirmed with me then refilled it. I even had my dogs with me, and no one minded while I was in the shop.Chris and the aamco team were amazing. I couldnt have asked for better luck in finding a new garage to start taking my car too. Come here if you want your car to be taken care of.

Had my cars transmission rebuilt after metal fragments were found in the transmission fluid. Aaron was very helpful, friendly and kept me updated with everything going on with my car. I didnt feel like they were going to pull a fast one on me or overcharge me. I was actually given a discount. Thanks AAMCO and Aaron!

Quoted $1200 for rebuild, return call when complete they asked for $1850. They honored the quote after many back and forth conversations. Technician did not tighten the internal nut on the output shaft, 1500 miles later nut came loose and rear bearing shredded, ruined a hard to find parking brake tail assembly. Aamco wont cover their mistake, cost me 3 weeks and an additional $2k. Never again.

Just finished having Chris and the guys at Ammco on Rainier/23rd work on my 2008 Ford SportTrac. I thought my transmission was going to die! Turns out just needed a service. They are true professionals that only sold me what I needed at a much better price than the dealership. They took the time to crack open the old filter and show me the condition of the transmission. I would recommend this shop to anyone needing maintenance or repairs.

I finally feel comfortable driving around in my car with my new transmission. The whole process was really smooth and the manager was great.

They help me out like I was a friend of theirs for years. They talked to me like a normal human being and made it very simple to understand what I needed and what they could do if I wanted them to provide the  service.  I didnt have time at the moment because I use my vehicle for work but Im definitely going to bring it back.

Bought an 03 Civic and found a serious leak in the transmission. I was referred to AAMCO and Glen was extremely honest and forward about exactly what the issues are. He replaced the transmission dip-stick which is where the leak was and suggested exactly what to do to get as much life out of it before needing to get a new transmission!! This saved me a lot of money and time and worry and would suggest anyone to come to AAMCO for any repairs. Thanks Glen:)

Midas auto was wear I got van fixed

We had a great experience at AAMCO. They were courteous and helpful so much so that the next day my boyfriend Glowver brought my car in for repairs. We are telling all our friends about them.

Rebuilt my transmission and threw in a complementary warranty, transmission fan to make up for my previous mechanics oversight. Good, honest folks.

These guys at AAMCO are clowns. Dishonest clowns! Especial Sonny the Manger.I brought in and old Toyota RV. It had a front end problem. I thought it had a bad brake caliber. They drove the Rv and told me that to replace the caliber was a $150 and a replacement caliber was $60. Cost $225 I thought price was high. But, I hate lying in the dirt and fixing it my self. So I said fix it. They also told me the cost would also include pulling off the rotor and repacking the wheel bearing. I left the shop I didnt feel right about quote, plus I have done caliber before and I was aware that fixing the caliber doesnt require the removal of the rotor and replacement of the bearings. I to return AMMCO get my house keys. I really trying to trust these guys When I called I told I was returning ad informed me that price had went up to $290...On the why back I made a call to another shop to check repair time costs, and I had the Haynes repair manual for this car with me, and it informed me the repair was simple with pictures and drawings etc.At the AAMCO, Sonny, the mechanic and I very under the car. Sonny had a flash light tried to demonstrate the great lies he telling me They both insisted that I was wrong and that book was wrong. I couldnt believe these guys. The mechanic made some comment disparaging the Haynes Manual by saying “they use computer now!” Please do not go their and if you do get a second opinion.

Even I havent took their service, I very appreciated to their professional advice.

My Explorer started dying in downtown, I tried to make it back home but ended up breaking down right in the AAMCO entry. Pat came out, assesed the situation, and gave us plenty of options, including calling us a rental car. We left the car with him overnight since they were in the process of closing up, and he called us early the next morning with a diagnostic and a thorough explanation of what the problem was. Unfortunately, we needed quite a bit of work, but Pat called around for parts, found a better price, and knocked over $100 off the original quote. He had a rental car ready and waiting the next day so I could get to work while they did the repairs. One of the mechanics offered to drive me home multiple times. Overall, THE BEST experience I have ever had at an auto place. I suggest going here if you ever need great customer service.

Brought my 1993 Camry in that had overheated on the freeway and basically stopped running. Glenn was awesome. Car had a blown head gasket, which was my assumption, and didnt charge me for the evaluation. Awesome service.

So I brought my car here to get the tranny replaced I explained to them that Midas had replaced driver side axle and out put shaft seal but my heavy tranny leak came back Midas told me to take it to tranny shop they think is a barren so I end up at amco transmission for my car side note Midas replaced those parts twice so Chris says he want to run his own diagnostic I say ok so 3 days go by he tells me its my out put shaft seal I said Midas replaced that Chris says My mechanic is a 100% sure it was installed wrong so I pay 280$ to fix the seal they left my abs system unplugged then tried to say it was on upon arrival so I had to drive with no abs system then the leak comes back so at this point Im ready to replace the whole transmission Chris wants 4500$ when I have other shops offering 3200 so I take my Bussnies els where but not be for asking for my refund cherish tell me he can give me everything except for the taxs back witch was like 30$ I ended up with the full refund after a hassle so fast forward 3 days I take my car to transmission express Burien they inform me that the seal was never replaced and had been spray painted and they found and fixed the problem witch guess what it was a barren witch cost 480$ compared to Chriss 4500$ quote

As a young woman, it is sometimes intimidating to walk into automotive repair shops. This is not the case at Aamco Seattle. Aaron, the general manager, always treats me with respect. I had my car repaired there and then drove it all the way to Texas and had no problems.

I must completely disagree with the previous poster on the quality of service and commitment to duty demonstrated by the employees of the AAMCO at 2101 23rd Avenue in Seattle. I have taken two cars to their shop and have been given fair estimates and solid justifications for repairs. As I left a meeting yesterday, I immediately heard a noise from the engine which I thought was a bad belt, and drove straight to see Son. He immediately IDd it as an alternator problem, and had parts ordered immediately. As I stopped in during the afternoon, he notified me it might not be ready by the end of the business day as they had to inspect for other causes of the alternator disfunction. I was disappointed, telling him I lived in Edmonds and taught locally until 8pm, and wasnt keen on taking the bus at that hour. I actually understood and was just venting a little frustration over a broken car. An hour later, Son called me to tell me it would be fixed by the end of the day. I was elated- and very grateful for their sense of customer care and service. I will continue taking both of my vehicles to Son and AAMCO for regular service, and have already referred my office mates to do the same. Thanks to Son and his team, I was home with my kids before they went to bed!

Their website says they are open Saturdays till 1pm. Just went in this Saturday morning; they were closed. Inconsiderate that they dont update their webpage with accurate information.
