I have been struggling to find a place to sharpen my knives since moving to Seattle. The last place I went was super cheap but the edge wasn’t… great. The guy at Seattle Cutlery got my edges reground and even got a bent tip on my paring knife fixed. All done for a very reasonable $1/inch per knife and low regrinding edge fee. I’m happy with the edge and happy I found where I’ll return to when my knives need sharpening again.

I had a wonderful experience looking for a new knife for my home set.The gentleman behind the counter gave me a great rundown of the Nakiris they offered at a moderate price point. And allowed me to handle the blades, and cut some veggies to get a good feel. The knives offered can be a little pricey, as the Nakiri I ended up purchasing was $180. You get what you pay for. Theyre beautiful knives with a wonderful craft and feel. And if its maintained, itll last you lifetimes. They do have cheaper options for knives as well, highly recommend this sweet shop.

Sweetest shop owner I have ever met! He provided a very friendly, loving atmosphere for us upon entry into the shop. He helped my partner find the perfect knife set to take to and from work with him. My partner is a cook, and he very much appreciates high quality tools to work with. This is the place to go!

I must compliment Seattle Cutlery. They repaired two high quality knives i own that had significant damage. Results were better than I expected and cost was very good.I will also note I did have a customer service issue with Seattle Cutlery which was resolved professionally and to my satisfaction. They have been tested multiple ways and delivered quality. I’d use them again.

I dont really consider myself a knife person, but this store caught my attention. The display in the front of the store is cool. The store is a smaller space, but they have a large selection. The staff that I talked to really knew a lot about knives, and they sounded really passionate about what they did. Like a lot of shops on pike street, this one has character.

Cutlery store across the street from the famous Pike place market. Its a very busy area, so expect a little more difficult time finding a parking spot. The store itself is fairly small, but well stocked with kitchen cutlery essentials. Several high to low end kitchen knives are available, and they have cutting boards and some tester veggies for cutting practice. They also carry pocket knives; lots of swiss army knives available. Also at the time of this review, several Spyderco and Kershaw knives as well as assorted brands from overseas. As to be expected for a brick and mortar store, the priced are slightly higher than online, but not excessive, save a few choice pieces. The staff is knowledgeable about their products, and will be more than able to help someone to make a informed decision on a good kitchen knife purchase.4 out of 5 stars, one off just mostly due to my wish that they would branch out into other pocket knife brands a bit; Spyderco is a great brand, but they are a bit oversaturated with them.

Seattle Cutlery is so special. I have a passion for fine knives & couldn’t pass by their beckoning storefront without stepping inside. I’ve never seen so many quality, appealing pieces in one spot.I had to special order the exact piece I wanted & it was sent timely & even free! I have since ordered again thru mail as I’m quite far from Seattle. Such fast shipping, packaged so carefully. Peter is a pleasure to talk with, patient with any questions you may have, plus has a wealth of knowledge.I highly recommend them for your cutlery wants & needs. I hope to visit in person again one day!

OUTSTANDING! One of the BEST experiences Ive had as a customer in any store...ever. The owner Peter and his wife Eva welcomed my girlfriend, her daughter, and I into the store just as they were closing and were extremely gracious in allowing me to try several different Santoku knives until I found the perfect one for me. I bought numerous things there and am extremely happy not only with what I bought, but especially how I was treated.5-stars all the way in all categories! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I bought an extremely overpriced $800 knife from them and when I found out how much they price gauged me, I asked for a return on my brand new un-opened knife. They then say no returns on items that were on sale. Even though the sales person never said anything about a sale on that knife. I was even there with my girlfriend who had no recollection of them even mentioning it. The sale wasnt even listed on the receipt, nothing. And then on the phone they called me a liar and insisted that their salesman mentioned the price.Overall - everything here is overpriced, and management will say anything, in order to prevent you from returning anything.

Im an avid home cook and have three high-end kitchen knives that I use all the time. Whenever I take them somewhere to be sharpened, Im never happy with the quality of the sharpening for one reason or another. Most recently I took them to Seattle Cutlery. The price is reasonable (about $17 for all three of my knives) and the quality of the sharpening job was fantastic! The edges look perfect and the knives cut as if going through butter. So glad I have a place to get professional-level sharpening done!

Exceptional EVERYTHING from Seattle Cutlery! They have the best selection of quality knives in this city by far. Everything each member of the Seattle Cutlery team did was above and beyond exceptional service. Peter, the owner, was extremely accommodative with my schedule and it being COVID-times, and once in the store, Humberto was helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with me during my knife-selection process. He let me see the options, recommended which knife would work best with my uses, and showed me specifically how to use, wash, dry, store, and sharpen it. I was so impressed with this unparalleled level of service that I will not be buying a knife from anywhere else ever again. Businesses that are run with this level of integrity and service deserve your business!

Excellent service and craftsmanship. My knives have never been sharper. Ever. Highly recommend.I dropped off my knives; a 6 Wüsthof boning knife and a Messermeister 10 inch chef knife prior to the non-essential business closures and was beginning to worry that I might not see them for months. Peter was exceptionally helpful, friendly and accommodating to my schedule to meet me at the closed market to return my knives. He went above and beyond to deliver them personally and make sure that I was happy. Its a pleasure to cook again with razor sharp knives that hold an edge because of Seattle Cutlerys superb sharpening work. I will be back as soon as this stay it home order is over to have the rest of my knives sharpened. Thanks again!

Ive had five knives sharpened here, and I just dropped off two more. They did a better job than any sharpening service Ive used in the past. My worst knife, which I got for $10 in 2009, now just glides right through anything Im cooking. And they charge about half as much as most decent places in Seattle ($1/inch for regular kitchen knives, as of this writing).Their selection of knives is extensive and beautiful. Sometimes I just go in to admire them and chat with the staff, who are always friendly. Im planning on buying a new knife soon and Ill do it here.

Had to come back the next day to get the rest of the knives that they forgot to give me initially. After purchasing multiple kitchen knives over the years and regularly having my knives sharpened here with a generally positive experiences, last week I got my 8 Shun chef knife back from sharpening, and it had a gouge in the face. The damage was pretty clearly caused by the knife being touched against some kind of rotary power tool. I spoke to a manager, who denied that they had cause the damage (of course that individual was not present when the knife was being sharpened so he would have had no way to confirm this). There was no conciliatory gesture or effort whatsoever. The demeanor of the manager was dismissive and hostile. This was a $150 knife that I have babied for the last 10 years and used nearly every day. Its currently unusable because the gouge snags on food, sponges, and towels. I guess I will be finding another knifesmith to try to repair the damage (no idea if its even possible without destroying the Damascus cladding) but in the meantime you all should know how this business conducts themselves. I will update this post if I happen to reach some resolution with the business.EDIT: Per the comment below from the business, I emailed them, but have received no reply.

Wow, my son purchased a knife yesterday not knowing I had already purchased the same knife on-line. When he got home, he looked at the receipt not knowing there was a no refund policy, but only an in-store exchange. My son was not informed of the return policy upon purchasing and when I called, the sales associate told me there was a sign posted near the register. I asked if they tell the customer and he said its the customers responsibility. I asked for the owners name and the sales person said he will be in later, but he most likely would not refund the knife. I am so disappointed by such terrible customer service and will never recommend this store and by reading other blogs, this store is not liked by a lot of people for the very same reason. Terrible terrible customer service!!!
