Im only halfway through my custom ring project with Baraka, but I had to write a review now to express how grateful I am to them and how they are treating my memorial rings with such care and attention. My mom died almost 2 years ago and Ive had an idea in my head about taking the stones from one of her 70s era cocktail rings and turning them into something I can wear every day to honor her memory. I also wanted the rings to complement my Nanas 1929 wedding band which Ill wear with the rings. Jamie and his designer are creating the beautiful stacking rings and are doing it with care and reverence. He listened to what I wanted, suggested a gorgeous stone in my price range, and made certain the needed repairs and restorations were done. I cannot recommend this place enough! The care and service they gave was above and beyond. I came to Baraka looking to help repair my fathers necklace that was passed down to my son after his death. Turned out the necklace was not an expensive piece, but held a great deal of sentimental value to my son and I. They handled the necklace with care, fixed it, never shamed us for it not being a high quality piece and showed reverence to my son and this very personal piece that hasnt left him since he got it. I took my ring into Baraka Gems when two of the prongs of my engagement ring had shifted and loosened around the stone. Both Taylor and Jamie were incredibly kind and helpful and gave me multiple options to how we could address the problem and how to avoid something like this happening in the future. I ended up choosing the option of replacing my setting - they were able to do this so quickly, and I absolutely love the new setting! The setting is beautiful - its still unobtrusive to the stone and infinitely more secure than previous setting.

EXERCISE CAUTION: This business may disrespect you based on your nationality, dialect or or disability. At first I did a $1,000 in business with them. The second I engaged them for a similar sized follow up transaction they wouldnt give the time of day. Theres only a few plausible explanations for why a customer in good-standing cant get 10 minutes of time to continue to enhance the profitability of the relationship. In conclusion Baraka turn away repeat customers when the customer is not to their liking insofar as the proper nationality or struggles with a disability.I tried many times in the 4 months since 2/20/2021 to get a follow up appt because this company is close to my home and I care about my neighbors and neighboring businesses health. Baraka never had availability within 48 hours for me. The first time I did business with them I successfully walked in their front door and things went fine. I walked out happy and left a 10/10 online review for them. Something changed since then. I love patronizing nearby small businesses. Its odd to have this be the only business for a 3 mile radius (at least) where Ive had a very good experience at first and a NON-CUSTOMER FOCUSED APPROACH THE NEXT TIME. Its odd because the lifetime value of a customer really matters. In my years of running small businesses Ive had to focus on repeat customers, Ive never once seen such a situation as Baraka. The simplest explanation is fitting.

I’d highly recommend Baraka Gems! I worked with Taylor to design a new and more modern piece using stones from a family ring that was not being used due to sizing. Taylor nailed the design from the get go (check out her sketches on their Instagram) and was an excellent communicator which made the process fun, exciting and frankly easy! I had purchased estate jewelry, semi-precious stones, several lab-grown sapphires, and four high-quality moissanite at an online auction. I was interested in selling them. Jamie was professional, helpful, and in some cases, double-checked stones with an independent gemologist. Jamie was very fair with his appraisals. I sold a few pieces and decided to have one of the larger moissanite stones set. He helped me pick out a beautiful setting. I needed my wedding rings sized and the turn around was shorter than I have had or been quoted in the past at other locations. They took the security of my rings seriously- called for confirmation my husband could pick them up. Very nice staff and beautiful new location in Greenwood.

My now fiance custom designed a beautiful engagement ring here. I am reluctant to even give 2 starts because of our experience with resizing. I got my finger sized here prior to the process of designing the ring. Jamie, the owner, nudged us to a larger size (4.0), because my finger was between the 3.5 and 4. Jaime does not carry a ring sizer tool with .25 sizes, which I later discovered, most jewelers do. The larger size ended up being too big for my finger so we went back to Jaime to get it downsized by .25. He charged us $150 for resizing even though we purchased a very expensive ring from him and HE WAS THE ONE WHO SIZED IT AND RECOMMENDED THE SIZE. I think it was incredibly inappropriate for him to not take any verbal or financial responsibility for the incorrect sizing. We also overheard when we went to resize the ring that 4 other customers that day also had sizing issues. I recommend that you do not get your ring sized here because when they incorrectly size it, they will charge for their mistake. It also took 2 weeks for us to get the ring back, but thats besides the point.

Brought a ring here to have a stone and tips (that hold the stones in place) replaced. The work done on the stone was fine, however, my ring came back with a smaller band. Because I happened to have photos of my ring from the jeweler who made it, I was able to compare and see that the band was narrower (top to bottom) and that the stamped-in jewelers hallmark was entirely missing. I had paid for additional gold to have the tips fortified, so there was no approved reason to take gold from the band. I contacted the owner and was given some excuses, but the pictures tell a different story.If you plan to take jewelry here for repair, take a LOT of pictures of it first, including with a ruler to confirm its dimensions. You may want evidence if your ring also comes back unexpectedly different.

I have an heirloom ring from my late grandmother thats about 60 years old, theres part of the band that are very thin and fragile and that part broke! I scheduled an appointment on a Saturday evening for the upcoming Thursday. Went to see Taylor and she was so so so so so FRIENDLY and lovely! I purchased my fiancés engagement ring at Baraka after she picked out one of their designs from their extensive online inventory. I was able to see the design in person before ordering it and the timeline they gave me for receiving it was spot on. Jamie and his staff are friendly and knowledgable and dont make you feel insecure about your budget or lack of knowledge.My favorite part of the ring-buying experience was their partnership with a local photographer for a free mini-engagement photo shoot in exchange for marketing permissions with the photos. I enjoyed my selling experience at Baraka. I went there to sell some jewlery I dont wear. Jamie was very knowledable and answered all of my questions. Setting up the appointment was easy. Jamie responded to my email very quickly. In the shop, there were plexi partitions, everyone was masked, and there are only up to 4 customers allowed inside at a time. Baraka is a really lovely shop and a great addition to the neighborhood.

In 2018, we lost my grandmother at the age of 101 years old, and she left to her grandkid(s) her engagement ring and the wedding band that she wore for 74 years. As you can imagine, it was a bit dingy after 74 years of wear. We took it to Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry to have it restored, clean and resized. They did a magnificent job and it looks brand new. Now this is where our story gets funny. The restoration was done by my brother when he planned to give the ring to his soon-to-wife. Well, that didnt go exactly as planned, and months later, I was the one bringing the ring back to Baraka to be resized (again), to have the wedding band and engagement ring separated (again), and to have engravings removed rather than added. Jamie and team took it all in stride and laughed along with us, and gave to me the rings that fit me and are still equally as beautiful. The engagement ring is now on my finger after my soon-to-be husband proposed to me two weeks ago. I cannot recommend Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry highly enough for your vintage jewelry too! LOVE THIS PLACE. Went in to see about getting 2 gold chains fixed and Jamie helped me out (it wasnt until later that I found out he was the owner) He was so personal and professional, my whole experience was wonderful. I appreciated his honesty about what would be worth fixing versus not (as it would have just broken again). His communication was excellent as well as his costumer service, I witnessed him with other costumers and he never rushed anyone nor was he pushy or trying to upsell. That alone is a breath of fresh air. I will absolutely be using this place for all future needs! Five star for sure!!

I went in to sell some jewelry that I didnt wear, and ended up working with Jamie to create a custom piece for myself. He dealt fairly and honestly with the gold sale, and now I have a gorgeous piece of jewelry made from pieces that I wasnt wearing much! Taylor at Baraka Gems went above and beyond to help me find the perfect engagement ring for my fiancé! I never leave reviews but Baraka’s service warrants my first entry here for sure. I looked at 4 other jewelers in the Seattle area before Baraka and was disappointed by all of them. Taylor respectfully honored what I was searching for and was able to compile a beautiful ring using an heirloom diamond from my family in combination with a white gold ring that perfectly matched the style my fiancé desired. Not only that, but Baraka was able to get everything ready just in time for my Christmas proposal with very short notice! Taylor was also very patient with my tumultuous schedule, accommodating some switched appointment times, and also respectful of Covid-19 precautions. Baraka truly gave me more than I had hoped for for such a great price. I felt like the search for the perfect ring was becoming impossible until I came to Baraka. 10/10 don’t even bother going anywhere else.

Over the last year and a half, we have had the most amazing experience with Baraka. My fiance went in to pick out my engagement ring with a few ideas in mind and the wonderful people at Baraka were able to help him custom design the most beautiful ring. Resizing the ring was also an easy process that only took a week. A few months later we stopped in and bought my wedding band, which I picked out from what was in the store while they were having a sale. To pick out my fiances wedding band, we went in about 3 different times because he was very indecisive, and the team was super patient with us each time showing us all kinds of potential options until he found his perfect ring from their vintage jewelry. Absolutely exquisite work done to source a replacement stone for a difficult setting. Jamie’s passion for his craft is evident in the care he takes for his work. His estimate was spot on, and entirely reasonable for the quality of work. Be prepared to wait awhile for the job to be done, but it is well worth the wait. We will be back.

I heartily recommend Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry! I needed an heirloom ring removed from an injured finger quickly. Jamie was able to see me right away and removed the ring in minutes. I had never looked into selling jewelry before, and was embarrassed because I didnt know what had value and what might be costume. I contacted a couple of places in the area to inquire about sorting and possibly selling, and Jamie got back to me same-day detailing the entire process. I asked a few more questions, and got quick, knowledgeable replies as well (throughout the evening!). When I was ready to schedule the appointment, Jamie got me in the exact day I was hoping for!The building was easy to find, and I got street parking right in front of it. I was greeted immediately by his assistant who was super friendly, and while Jamie was wrapping up with his last customers his assistant began to start the process instead of having me wait! They had COVID-19 precautions: Everyone was wearing masks, the two desks were at least six feet apart with shields separating customers and staff, and they had protocol for keeping the pens sanitized and separated from those that had been touched.Jamie was also really friendly and clearly knows what hes doing. He sorted my items right away, and my nerves about bringing in costume jewelry were totally calmed because while I did have a bunch of items with no value, Jamie never made me feel like I was wasting his time or let me feel ashamed of what Id brought in. He even complimented some off the pieces which was awesome. While sorting, he showed me exactly how he was measuring and determining them and included me in the entire process.Then, after identifying pieces of value, Jamie made me an offer! I had two sentimental pieces in there that I wasnt sure about selling, and Jamie immediately told me hed always rather I wait until Im ready if Im unsure. Then, he offered a price for the remaining pieces instead! I left knowing about all of my jewelry, I kept the two I wasnt ready to let go, and still got to walk out with a check. I couldnt imagine a better outcome!Also: Apologies that I have forgotten the assistants name (and that I keep calling her the assistant when she may have a completely different title)! But I just wanted to add that the customers who were there when I arrived included a kid. The assistant and Jamie were especially sweet to the kid, and gave him a special token to make him feel special.Truly a great experience!

I brought my engagement ring to Jamie last week to be sized down a half size. I sent him a message via his website contact form to find out how much it would cost/how long it would take. To my surprise (and delight!) he got back to me within a couple of hours and his quote was far more reasonable than other jewelry stores in the area. He explained that the re-sizes/repairs are picked up on Saturdays and are usually ready the following Saturday, so I went in on a Saturday morning to drop off my ring. Jamie was very friendly and I felt comfortable leaving my ring with him to be re-sized.True to his word, he called one week later to let me know my ring was ready to be picked up! It cost under $80 to have my ring re-sized, which was great. Most shops charge $100+. Plus, Jamie donates 10+% of his profits to support orphanages in Kenya.Baraka may be easy to miss since its tiny storefront is on the ground floor of an apartment complex, but it deserves more visibility! My ring fits perfectly now, and its shinier than the day I first got it. We will definitely be using Baraka for any future jewelry needs!

Fantastic service, super easy to work with. I had a specific wedding band style I was looking for I went to all the big-name stores. None of them had anything close. I used Jamie’s online inventory to identify six (six!) rings in the style I wanted and Jamie had them in store in my size within 4 days. I would recommend working with Jamie any time!

When selling (or buying) jewelry theres a lot of trust involved because I have no idea what things are worth. Jamie was great and really made me feel like a could trust them. He tested everything in front of us and explained what the deal was at every step. If that werent enough, they use the profits to support their main goal which is an orphanage.
