Dochi - the go to mochi donut place in all of WA.Although there isn’t many options for flavors, the options provided are all amazing and will put a sparkle in your eyes. The texture of the donuts are just so satisfying to bite and chew. You would be doing yourself a disservice going elsewhere. Which of course, would only leave you in tears wanting Dochi.EDIT: They sell out, so get there early
I’m a big fan of donuts and this was my first mochi donut experience and all I can say is WOW! The dough is so soft and fluffy, it easily breaks apart. The flavor choices are so fun and I really want to try them all. I had the taro with fruity pebbles, what a combination! It was sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. Make sure you get these early as they can sell out. The staff serving us were incredibly friendly too.
These donuts are so good. I highly recommend trying these. I don’t even love that close but they are worth the drive.
The mochi donuts are a nice treat after a long walk exploring the central district. The donuts are soft and chewy and not too sweet. The matcha pistachio is my favorite.Though the donuts look so pretty you feel like youll have to get a half dozen box or more, a piece per person is really more than enough.I recommend stopping by here when you are in Uwajimaya for a fresh donut.
Wow!!! I’ve seen these donuts online and never thought I would get to try them, was so delighted to find them at Uwajimaya. I love these because their texture is so chewy and moist. They are also not insanely over the top sweet. They were out of the taro flavor when I got there so I’ll have to come back, but all of the other flavors taste amazing!! My favorite is the strawberry pocky one.
Stale and too sweet with food coloring!! Took two bites and tossed. Must be low turnover
The mochi donut 🍩 looked nice, but the taste was rather plain. The texture has a nice chew. I will give them another try as I bought this donut later in the afternoon.
Amazing mochi donuts!!! Love the textures and flavors. Must try, of you havent already. Highly recommended!!! So yummy 😋
First of all, Im a sucker for mochi, but when I heard of dochi, I said NANI??!Wife and I picked up a half dozen and were impressed with how moist and crunchy they were. Our favorites were the matcha, the Ube glaze and the strawberry Pocky. Either way, theyre all yum!! Well be back every time we go back to Uwajimayu fa sho 🙏🏽
After finding this tiktock famous food joint we made the 2 hour drive. The different options and reasonably priced was worth the trip. The soft and chewy mochi 🍩 was exactly what expected. Loved the fuity pebbles, ube and matcha flavors. And bought a dozen to take home for $28. A day later and its still soft and chewy. I only wished that had a fresh warm option, that would have kicked it up a notch!!
Yummy! Crispy edges, in the best way possible -and the flavor of their ube doughnuts is delicious! Will be back soon! :-D
Google says they specialize in Gluten Free donuts however their website explicitly says that their donuts are not gluten free. Please don’t advertise this. Someone will end up in the hospital!
Google dont like videos! Lol it is definitely a place that only occasional.. almost $3 a donut... Nonetheless, I enjoyed it!!
If you like spicy food this is the place to go very nice place to eat
Im usually not a big donut fan but these are delicious. They arent too sweet and are a wonderful treat!
Love the donut, not too sweet. But its too expensive for dozens.
Tldr: Mochi donuts that provide novelty, but can be lackluster in flavor and crispiness.I had the Ube Glaze, Matcha Oreo, Strawberry Animal Cracker, and Taro Fruity Pebble Flavors. The Donuts were chewy but lacked a balancing crispiness. Flavors are nice in concept, but lackluster in taste, leaving more to be desired. This was my first time having japanese mochi donuts and was a nice novelty, but I dont think these were too special.Yes theres hype behind these and they love to capitalize on it. Know what youre going for :-)
This is located inside Seattle Uwajimaya’s food court. There was a short line on Sunday at 5pm. I was hoping to try all flavors but ube glazed and pumpkin spice were sold out. This doughnut is lighter and airier than regular doughnut. It has a little chewy texture but I was expecting small piece of Mochi inside each doughnut ball hahaha... worth a try :) ps I just tried microwaved it for 5-10 seconds and it got more Mochi texture 😉 after eating some more I think it tasted like soft bread with little chewy texture 🙂 good thing is you can just break off a ball to eat 😉 easy to share!!
I loved the Mochinut s which aren’t too sweet. I tried the chocolate caramel, ube and mochi. Absolutely loved the chocolate caramel one the most.
Yay my new favorite donut place. I love the unique flavors they have. Too bad they ran out of three flavors at 4:45 pm on a Sunday. Anyways I would come back and my favorites were the matcha and the strawberry. Hopefully they don’t run out in the future. Lines were long and took 15 minutes to receive the donuts. Good thing there is someone to control the lines.
The ube coconut donut was very tasty.
Update: Purchased some donuts in the morning and they were really good. Much softer than the donuts that were purchased last time. Will stop by again next time Im around this area.Old Review: Nice employees, but donut wasnt as good as expected for the price. Not cake donuts as others have expressed, but they are a little on the dry side and hard chewy, not soft chewy like mochi.
Very unique and very delicious! I had to come back several times during my Seattle stay.
OK these things are just amazing. Great to share, but dont last long.
I had the Taro Pebbles donut and it was delicious! Great customer service as well. Will be coming back for more!
No complaints! When we got home we put it in the microwave to warm them up a bit OMG 🤤. The lines maybe long but they knock it out quick! I can’t wait to go back!
They make the best donuts yummy
Donuts + Mochi = Dochi = LiLiHa Bakerys Poi Donuts from Hawaii, with a Seattle twist. We got 1 of each of the current flavors (as of 9/1/19: Ube Glazed, Chocolate Almond, Strawberry Pebbles, Matcha Oreos, Coffee Red Velvet, and Ube Crunch. These are not hot out of the over mochi donuts like other places have them, but they are definitely tasty. Each 🍩 makes you $3 less rich but if you buy half a dozen or a dozen, you save some of your dignity. The packaging is all about Instagram and the inside writing even lets you dedicate the box to someone so its an easy eye-pleasing gift to give and enjoy/share. It looks like most of the donuts use the same mochi batter (white mochi) so the main flavors are in the frosting. This place is inside the Uwajimaya Village, snack dab across the Momosan Ramen 🍜 place, which is about to open (for you foodies out there).
Web says gluten free. But donuts have wheat. why you do me like this, dochi? Love, Celtic sad girl
I got lucky and managed to sneak up on this place when there wasnt a line out the door. Saw they were pretty hyped up on social media so my curiosity got the best of me and I grabbed a half dozen (1 of each flavor). Overall they taste alright, definitely different from your traditional Dunkin / Krispy Kremes, but not mind blowing though. Try them out, just try to avoid the lines as the hype is overblown IMO.
Had been reading about this place for a couple of months before they opened, and was eagerly waiting for their opening. The day finally came and I was able to catch them just before they closed, I was hoping to get their Ube, but they were sadly out. So I got the oreo matcha and pebbles taro, both of which I enjoyed immensely. The line is a little bit cumbersome, but that is what is to be expected for a place that is just opening.
Their mochi donuts are so delicious. My favourite flavour was the chocolate speculoos & cookies n cream. Like any other donut they’re best eaten fresh, after a little while it does tend to get a bit soft, but that’s like any other donut!! They also have amazing customer service. Can’t wait to come back
Got in line around 12:10p on Thursday and it’s definitely the best day in terms of line length. I waited at most 5 minutes. I got a Matcha Oreo, Ube Glazed, and Strawberry Shortcake. The donuts have a chewy texture and I thought they were all pretty good. My favorite was Ube since it was just subtly sweet and personally I don’t like overly sweet things. The donuts are $3 each or $18 for half a dozen.
These are some of the best donuts Ive ever had, and the woman at the counter was super kind & helpful. Worth the price!
Great service. The dochis are amazing!!
New pop up in food court offering “mochi style-like” donuts; spin off attempt of Mister Donuts or similar in Asia. They have about 5-7 flavors a day, and they are topping flavors, not actual donut flavors. They do not offer a plain one and each donut is $3. Size is good but overall texture and taste were underwhelming. On the dry side and not much of a QQ-chewiness that you would expect from a mochi donut.
Ok everything seemed cold or staik
Google description says gluten free but if you go to the website it says they mix in wheat flour. As I’m extremely allergic to gluten, I got very sick and will be sick for weeks due to this mistake (and the autoimmune response my body has).CELIAC OR GF BEWARE
These are so delicious! The chewy Mochi texture is so unique. We came a bit late so they only had a few flavors left. The Ube and choco churro were excellent. Definitely get the Ube!!!
Best doughnuts ever! Never heard of Mochi doughnuts but stumbled upon this and now Im a fan for life. Love you can break em up into bites or split the dochi down the middle with someone.
Strongly recommend. Maple and bacon was really delicious! This is not going to be a light fluffy donut, bear in mind. It is made of rice, after all. So you might find it chewier than say a fresh baked yeast or cake donut. That said, I really liked all 3 flavors I tried. And I really want to know how they make these things... The circular balls that make up the donut are oddly satisfying to eat in individual bites, in a row. Plus, your glaze and topping ratio to donut is perfect!
Im not much of a donut fan but wow am I impressed with Dochi! Their dochis are addictive, well fried and not overtly sweet, so youre able to eat more and enjoy it.PROS:- Fantastic location (opposite to Uwajimaya Seattle inside the food court) and convenient if youre shopping in Uwaj. Theres another location outside Seattle.- Think of these as fried mochi donuts, made with rice flour, cooked to perfection. They are not greasy or oily at all, and are shaped perfectly, so youre able to easily tear off a piece and enjoy the right ratio of fillings with every bite. Im incredibly impressed with the fluffy texture, taste and consistency of their donut.- flavors are so good! The ube needed more punch and flavor, but the ube with crispy Fruity Pebbles dochi and the pistachio dochi were unreal. My favorite thing about their dochi is that they are not clawingly sweet, just really well balanced. The quality is really high.- the staff is so nice and polite! They immediately made us miss Japan, where the level and quality of service are exceptional- the colors and place is so kawaii I adore itCONS:- Parking may become an issue as things start to reopen after covid- they have limited hours, which is common for specialized local bakeries in Seattle, but may be a hassle for some- Would love a bigger variety of flavors, especially with ube and pandan! We are still dreaming of dochi and cant wait to go back
Simply amazing!
The texture is definitely more chewy compared to the traditional donuts. Lits light on flavor and not overly sweet. Definitely plan to a couple for my friends to try out.
Ive had these twice and my whole family loves them. Its a new texture for us and just perfect! I love them!
Love the texture and their imagination for flavors. Fairly inexpensive.
NOT GLUTEN FREE!! I stopped by because the Google Maps description says gluten free but the gentleman behind the counter said they are made with mixed flour and nothing there is gluten free. Looked delicious, just really bummed to travel all the way there and not be able to eat anything.
As doughnuts from a chain go, five stars all day. Even for a chain they are silly good.
Dry! Not sure what the hype is.
Super delicious & super friendly. Finally found a time with less crowd. Usually theres a long line and my validated parking ticket is only good for 2 hours 🙃
Meh donuts in the taste area... but they are super cute! For $16 they should be amazing. Sort of taste dry and stale. Not as chewy as I would have hoped. The box is very cute, but who needs such a fancy box to just to be thrown it away?
So amazing place. Chewy doughnut with beautiful shape. Cant stop to eat. bad for your diet ;)
I tried the cookies and cream with cookie butter donut and it was the best! I will definitely be back to try the other flavors!
Such DELICIOUS donuts!!! The packaging is beautiful and vibrant, with adorable donuts to match! The owners are an absolute pleasure. Definitely check them out!
Somebody said this before and nailed it. Better than a normal donut, not as good as mochi. Theyve got something good going here. The Biscoff and cookie butter was amazing. Id definitely eat again.
Best donuts!
I got a half dozen of these because they looked really cool and I was excited to eat a donut that wouldnt wreck my stomach (wheat is hard for me to digest).I thought the orbs were going to be filled, but they were basically cake donuts with a light glaze.I ate one after a long day when I was really hungry, thinking it was going to be the best thing I had ever tasted. It was bland. Very little flavor, no crunch or chew or creaminess. It was just a soft, bland, cakey donut. I could see them being better with tea or coffee, but at $2.50 each I expected more.
Donuts did not taste like their name. I got Taro and Matcha. Not that great as far as donuts go. Customer service was good though. Maybe worth it if the price was 1.50 per donut.
Pondering knock-off from mister donut in Japan. Donut did not have the chewy texture, it was stale and dry :(The packaging on the boxes was cute though!
Didnt have a line to deal with since it was close to closing so that was a plus. But it wasnt as good as I expected and the price I feel didnt match well. The donut didnt taste like much and all I tasted was sugar plus it was a little hard.
Very exotic sticky tasty donut but expensive. About $3 per donut
This spot is brand new but SEATTLE does not have a spot that sells mochi donuts. They are soft and a little chewy, but not too sweet. The spot is located in International District in Uwajimaya’s food court. There is a line since it’s fairly new, but worth it!
Nice
These doughnuts are yummy and not overly sweet. They have a donut texture outside and the inside is nice and chewy like a mochi.
I succumbed to all of the hype and waited in line for an hour for these and what a disappointment. I tried all four flavors they had available, green tea and oreos, salted caramel with brownie brittle, ube glazed, and taro pebbles. All were overly sweet even for doughnuts. And they WERE NOT FRESH. We were one of the first ones in line (early enough to be offered a free doughnut) so you would expect them to be super fresh. But it tasted of sopped up old fry oil, and the fruity pebbles on the taro pebbles flavor was already soggy right out of the store. I wouldnt expect supermarket doughnuts to be this bad let alone ones as expensive as these.I went with a group from the office, and by the end of the day, almost everyone had left their boxes in the common area because no one wanted to take them home. Extremely disappointing experience.
Came here today for their opening! Ive had mochi donuts before from other places though like Liliha Bakery in Hawaii so I sort of had a general idea of mochi donuts. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt as dense as I thought it would be. Its like a Krispy Kreme with a chew! Thats how I would describe it. Its def less on the mochi side. Kinda like...hmmm 80% fluffy donut and 20% chew of a mochi. Not bad though! I liked that it was light.Tarp and fruity pebbles - def on the sweeter end because of the fruity pebbles but I do have somewhat of a sweet tooth so this was a yummy treat!Matcha and cookies - really good! Loved the matcha flavor and how it wasnt too sweet.Cookies and cream - a pretty traditional cookies and cream. What you would expect!Would come again :) its decently priced but would suggest buying it in half dozens ($16) so you can try most of the flavors!!
