Read recent reviews. This company is struggling to address basic customer care. At least address that glaring fact. Received goods in need of return. Had communications. Returned with RMA and using company-provided mailing label, along with an email promise to refund the order upon receipt of return merchandise. This was weeks ago now and I’ve not received a credit on my account. Emails now go unanswered. There is a degree of understanding permissible during the hiring, retention and logistical nightmares born by the pandemic. Expressing not one iota of acknowledgement or misgiving as a boilerplate communication from a company of any size doing business with the general public is straight up inexcusable in ANY environment.

Decent selection, if the product is actually IN STOCK. It took TWO WEEKS to merely find out that my order could not be fulfilled completely, it was only missing one item, but the order took another week to ship on top of that. Whoever I spoke to on the phone sounded like they had just given up and did not sound interested in helping me understand the problem.TL;DR 1 week order took 3 weeks and was incomplete

ALL of their fabric is imported even though they claim its domestic. THERE IS NO REASON TO SHOP HERE

If I could give them negative stars I would. The worse place, the worst help, the worst customer service. And I dont even expect that much, just them doing there job well and efficient. They received my order 11/2 and just processed it 11/17 and its waiting pick up from the USPS or UPS, on 11/18.My order is small.Ive just order 3 little things 1 ft of 3 color of cord. Order from anywhere else. I live in the same city and I can get stuff quicker from Toledo, then I can get from a shop that I could walk to.This place wont even pick up there phone or respond to emails. I hate to bad mouth a place. But they cost me $45 for a double order. Now I cant even use this stuff. They said 10 days. They mean 10 business days befoy they even start to fill your order. Plus the time for the USPS or ups takes to process and deliver it. It was delivered on 11/20.I wish this place had better employees and not the standard slowpoke workers. Because they have a great selection of stuff.

Happy to find what I needed, but poor customer service. I shared with their customer service that the order I placed and paid for priority express shipping on (an extra $40) had been held up at the USPS warehouse because someone told them not to deliver on weekends. The response was basically, we dont know why that happened so its not our problem. Very poor way to handle a customer inquiry. Will not be ordering here again.

Terrible customer service. Ordered relatively expensive piece of fabric along with some odds and ends. Fabric was out of stock by time they got to fulfilling and shipping. So rather than offer substitute color or pattern they just removed it from order and charged me full shipping + their fixed handling fee for a couple spools of thread. There are other, more competent, online businesses to get materials from.

BY FAR our most frustrating supplier! Even before covid it took forever to ship orders. Weve lost a few customers over these issues once again! We are/were doing a boat cover repair and ordered the material two weeks ago and they still havent shipped nor do we know if theyre even available at this point. We will move our business primarily to SailRite after the issues weve continued to have with Seattle Fabric. Do yourself a favor and dont bet your customer base on these guys! SO frustrated to have lost the account we just did over another issue.

Ordered samples from here because of their large selection of ripstop. I read their disclaimers for slower shipping times due to covid, but this is a little ridiculous. I waited right around 4 weeks to receive my samples, which they should point out because that is beyond simply “slow processing”. On top of that when i finally received my package half of it was missing. So I called and they said ohhh yes that’s on back order someone was supposed to notify you. Unless you are buying fabric for 3 months in advance I would not waste my time getting samples and buying final fabrics from this company.

If you’re looking for outdoor fabrics this is a good place to check but most the time I still don’t find what I’m looking for. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Every time I ask a question or if they have something I can’t find, the answer is completely condescending or like I put them out by asking a question. Staff makes the whole store uninviting. I only go in when I need to try and find something quick or little now.

Amazing selection. They had a sale on a similar fabric to what I went in for and the store clerk took me right to it and explained how it would probably meet my needs at least as well for less money. They also have an amazing scrap bin which has some real finds if youre willing to dig. I was able to get 3/4 of my project supplies out of the scrap bin (including about a square yard of thinsulate in several smaller pieces) and they gave me the lot for free because I was also buying other fabric. Great store!

I have been coming to this store many times driving 25 miles to get my supply for my small craft business. Most of the time the customer service is great. I remember my first visit being helped by Sarah a while back - started a bit off felt like she needed some customer service training since she gives off that condescending vibe and not very people oriented. She seems up tight at all times and not approachable. At that time I figured maybe she was just having a bad day and brushed it off. Although, every time afterwards on my visits same thing, that’s why I try to avoid being helped by her. Many occasions I didn’t have to so it was okay. Today was a nightmare, she tried to help me but luckily I had to re-count my items and stepped aside, fortunately, Josh stepped in and checked my items out. I would get into the details of how the transaction went from the time I was ready to check out until I was done but we can save that for a Store Manager call if he wants my detailed story. My opinion, I think the moment a customer walks in to a store there shouldn’t be a feeling of having to pick and worry who will ring you out or not. Employees should be all customer-friendly, people oriented and honestly willing to help and not come across unapproachable and up tight thus it should be a pleasant experience for the customer. Kudos to Josh for saving this experience for me otherwise it could have been my last trip. Looking forward to other opportunities where I can see improvement. Thank You!

Ive read the iffy reviews here and I cannot agree with them from a casual buyers perspective. As someone who shops occasionally at SF for hard-to-find fabrics, cords, fasteners and webbing, Ive never had the aloofness described by others here. Instead, I find that the young employees have enough knowledge to answer my frequent newbie Qs, or they holler upstairs for backup when they dont have the answer. This is not a chain corporation, its a small local business in an outdoorsy town that has grown into one of the regions favorite places to start any textile-based project. When I re-fitted my kayak for an extended journey, SF came to my rescue as I sought unusual solutions and asked lots of questions. By having lots of samples, I could test my ideas before significant investments. Before learning of SF, I tried going to Joanns, REI and Feathered Friends for some of my project materials and they looked at me as if Id asked them to perform heart surgery. SF got it right from the start as I showed them my sketches. If you need hand-holding, ear-to-ear grins and general home hobby supplies, try Joanns— but they wont have nearly the selection of outdoor materials, adhesives, sewing gear and esoteric products as SF. They will look like scared deer when you ask about the denier and elasticity or a fabric. They will blush when you ask about Velcro-Compatible Neoprene or UV coatings. Not so at SF!Im very lucky to live near both!

I had a chance to visit Seattle Fabrics last week. I had been searching for fun fabrics to recover and old, but sturdy stroller. I found exactly what I was looking for at Seattle Fabrics. The gal who helped me was great to work with. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for another employee (John, I believe) who was rude to her and to me. When the gal helping me asked him what a particular fabric remnant was, his reply was Its hideous. She quickly turned to me, quite apologetically to say that it was fine for my project. While the shop has the best selection for specialty outdoor fabrics and notions, its not the most organized, nor is it truly accessible. They really could use a larger space. And at least one employee could use a lesson in politeness.

This is my go to place for supplies, sometimes multiple times a week. I have ordered online when out of town, without any problems. Also in bulk in person. Just treat the staff like the real people they are. Dont exploit the the staffs extra knowledge by grilling them for an hour about how to build your project, while holding up other customers in waiting and then be surprised when they try to speed things along a little and assist others standing in the store, sometimes rather impatiently. I know these folks could likely assemble my projects for me blindfolded in some cases and have advice on how to construct it better but, I respect that is extra knowledge they are kind enough to share, time permitting. I dont expect that as a service when going in for materials. This is a solid supplier of quality materials and hardware that I recommend to others. Also very glad I can walk in the door and get consistently helpful assistance when needed. This place gets the job done+

I recently visited Seattle Fabrics in person after having ordered online previously. They do have a very good selection of fabrics. However, in my opinion, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They were most unhelpful in person. I was told by the sales lady that she does not sew and was therefore unable to answer my question. In my opinion, you should have some knowledge of the products youre selling and how to use them. Also, she appeared quite irritated when I questioned the total price which actually happened to be incorrect. I will seriously consider shopping elsewhere.

Ive been ordering from SF since 2006 or 2007, and have had a literally 100% positive experience. I say this as a long-time business owner who is very touchy about customer service. The few times they had questions about my order, they called me within 24 hours to clarify. I tell everyone about Seattle Fabrics because of my experiences with them (and know lots of other outdoors people who make and/or repair their own gear). I havent been in the store because of distance but looking forward to making the opportunity to do so. Ive never been shorted on an order or had the wrong stuff sent. Quite a difference from some of the other reviews here I realize! If you had a bad experience, give them the opportunity to make it right. I dont know any of them personally or even their names, I just know I rely on them and they dont let me down; they continue to earn my ongoing business & recommendations.
