Rob came highly recommended to me by the folks at Touratech just down the road from Westedge Cycle. I needed one of their suspension lowering kits installed so I could finally get a foot flat on the ground. I first tried my dealership in Vancouver WA, but they dont own the piece of equipment needed to install the kit. Rob does! So I connected with Rob and drove up from Portland to get his help with my bike. After I dropped off my bike and took the train home (he gave me a free ride to the train station!), and only a few days later he had all my work done, including the suspension kit install, removal of a stock purchase BMW navigator mount and installed a new Garmin mount, install of auxiliary lights, swapped my tires out (and allowed me to order the tires I wanted and have them shipped to his shop so I wouldnt have to ride them up on my bike, and he sat on them for over a week until I could get my bike up there), and installed an adventure plate on my foot peg, AND banged out the dent in my hard case pannier I got from a fall, and which I hadnt succeeded in repairing myself. AND delivered my bike to Portland for me when it was all ready (he was already coming down for something and offered), all for a very reasonable cost. Communication was prompt, open, informative, kind, and all was delivered as promised. He did great work! On top of that, hes a really nice guy. I highly recommend Rob based on my experience. I will definitely try to connect with him again next time my bike needs work.

I worked with Rob who i presume is the owner/ manager and i was thrilled with the results. I brought in my 2000 VSTAR for a tune up and he was professional, timely and trust worthy. I cannot stress how much value his shop delivers. That is a big deal to me and i will be coming back. My bike rides so much smoother and the price he gave me was more than fair. I’m new to bikes, and he didn’t take me for a ride.I’d recommend him 100 percent.

Rob is the man! Was able to work on my Ducati, which many places wont. And of the places that said they would, Rob at Westedge cycle was BY FAR the most helpful. I came in, got my rear tire replaced, and he was even able to take care of an impromptu oil change. Along with checking and clearing some codes, and tossing in a couple missing fairing bolts. I recommend Westedge to anyone who cares about their motorcycle, and will for sure be back myself!

Rob was very friendly and helpful to me right from the very start. He was referred to me by another motorcycle dealership I have worked with over the years. I have a very nice vintage Harley FLH that other shops did not want to work on because of the era of the bike. It was not running when I brought it to him and within a couple days he had it all fixed up and running terrific! When interacting with him I felt like I was his only customer. He will be the person to look after any mechanical details on this wonderful older Harley for me. Thanks Rob, you rock! Figuratively and literally!JOHN LOUGHMANAGING BROKERWINDERMERE REAL ESTATE

My daily rider (1985 Honda Nighthawk) had started giving me some trouble, front brake locked up out of nowhere and was outside of my skill level to fix. Called up Rob and he took the bike on. Not only did he completely fix the issue with the brake but he was able to bend back a peg that I had bent slipping on some leaves this fall. Not only bend it back but paint it to look like new. Completely above and beyond in terms of helping me out. He even let me pick it up outside of regular hours. Super nice guy great shop, the next time I have issues with the bike I know exactly where to take it. Awesome to have a quality shop close to West Seattle.

Happened to come upon this gem of a shop. Was riding and stopped in, there I met Rob. I wanted the MR 77 tires for my yamaha R6. He unknowingly undercut his competition. He also was very communicative and genuine. Had the tires ordered they arrived to him in a day and within 5 days I was back for my scheduled appointment.I bartend so reading people is my gig. The dude knows his stuff. He wasnt trying to take anything extra from me. He replaced my tire stems. He also changed my brake and coolant fluids, which I asked him to do the day I brought the bike in. Then took a look at my power commander after I asked about an issue. He never hesitated to do the job. I dig no bs, being upfront and candid. All those things I received. My bike is my baby and I will be a returning customer. Appreciate you Rob.

I read many of the reviews before deciding to bring my bike in. I primarily read bad reviews as I feel they are most informative, and I talked to some coworkers who recommended Rob. I will say the reviews do not do him justice. He is good! He gave me an estimate and said if I go over I’ll call first so no surprises and kept his word. His estimate of time frame was dead on and my bike ran great. On the ride home I had a problem that wasn’t his fault at all but he told me bring the bike back. He fixed the issue to my liking and went way out of his way to make it right. Again a problem beyond his control. I will definitely bring my bike back to him.

I was referred to Westedge Cycle by two different fellow coworkers last october. They informed me that the owner is a great mechanic, the turn around is exceptional, and the prices are better than the competitors in the area. I recently purchased a couple of performance items I wanted to install onto an 2008 YZF R6 in turn to create a track bike. I decided to call Westedge Cycle to get quotes. I informed him that I purchased an aluminum 520 sprocket kit and also I wanted to do an exhaust modification. He told me that he would pass and that these kits wear fast although they do reduce weight (I didnt care about the weight theory all too much and I already knew about the wear pattern of aluminum kit versus steel kits). He also mentioned he had several inquiries for the same modification (which Im assuming he also passed). In the brevity of the conversation he did not ask about the exhaust modification I wanted to have installed.BE WARNED: I believe the owner does not feel safe installing items he does not purchase from his sources. Also It may be the fact that it is just more beneficial for his business to order from his vendors. Before you purchase an item and wish to do business through Westedge remember that he may pass. This is just my experience and a forewarning. Through word of mouth, I have heard his business is small but he is a very reputable mechanic. I gave 4 stars weirdly because its almost comforting to hear a business say no and because of the fact that he has riders I know recommending him because of his skill and talent.

I get all my motorcycle work done here, which, honestly, is a lot. I dont own a car, instead only riding a motorcycle exclusively. Ive had a few majors repair jobs done here, and a ton of small stuff. Price for parts is about average, despite the owner Robs policy of no online ordered parts, which I honestly understand. Service can sometimes run expensive, but for the quality of work, it feels like it is worth it.

Ive seen other reviews putting him on blast but you should understand he is a one man operation so cant always just get stuff done immediately upon request hell do his best to fit you in if your in trouble though and get you back on the road. hes thorough in his work and does a great job as they say patience is a virtue and with any good mechanic you wouldnt want someone who would just do the bare minimum and with westedge my bike was running better then when I brought it in and all he was supposed to do was the tires welll he did the tires and a few extras I wasnt even expecting him to ill definitely be back in for any other service I need

Rob is fantastic. My Vulcan 900 had broken down as soon as I got off the ferry at Orcas Island on a Saturday morning. I managed to get it back to mainland and towed it to his shop. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a slipping clutch due to a bad adjustment that happened somewhere else. He adjusted the cable and put a bolt which had broken off in my footrest. He felt my clutch was too far gone to be a safe bet to take the motorcycle to the islands. He offered to keep the bike in his shop and gave me his number to contact him on my way back - on a Sunday when his shop was closed. I came back, texted him and he arrived at the shop exactly when I requested him and had the bike ready to go. I was able to ride it fairly slowly and make it back to Seattle. I was in a bad situation and he got me through it and went over and beyond. I would highly recommend him to any one in the Anacortes area.

I gave him three tries and although he is pretty good at his work. he will get no more business from me. He is rude and obnoxious and argumentative and has to be right even when he is wrong! He is one of those who hates Jap bikes (his words) and wont even mount a tire if you didnt purchase it from him. I dont mind if he charged an extra fee but I dont want to hear his ranting again. My experience was 6 years ago and from I hear he is still the same. A buddy of mine wanted a tire mounted and I warned him but he wanted to give him a shot. He did exactly what I said he would do when he brought the tire in. Dont get me wrong, I usually do not like to leave a bad review but he has earned it...

I really wish I could write a positive review of Westedge Cycle because I was looking forward to having a shop within walking distance of my house where I could get my BMW R1200 serviced. My first visit to Westedge was to buy a new front tire and have it mounted and everything went very well, so I scheduled a 24,000 mile service and some other repairs for a later date.Rob, the owner, pushed the date back once, but no big deal. When I went to drop the bike off for work (several hours of labor and probably a $500+ job) we discussed what I wanted done. I thought we were good until I asked if he would be lubing the splines as part of the final drive fluid change, an optional, but easy thing to do when the final drive is already separated for the fluid change. Rob said no, and while I was a bit surprised, it wasnt that big of a deal.Rob then told me he didnt want to do the job on my bike and that I should just take it to BMW. I was shocked and asked if he was willing to do future minor maintenance such as tire changes and he responded no.Business must be good at Westedge, my money is as green as anyone elses, yet I was told my business wasnt welcome there.

Called the owner and he told me to bring my old BMW airhead in. I arrived and Robb the owner was there to look at it. He took a compression test which was okay and we rolled the engine over. Pulled the carb bowl off and saw some rust, probably from the tank. This bike has been sitting for several years.Just when I thought we were ready to unload the bike from the trailer Robb said I dont think I want this project now maybe in the winter. I looked in his shop and it is very neat but not a bike in sight. Guess my feelings were hurt.I have never been turned away from a business because they did not want to work on my bike.At 75 bucks a hour I dont see why my money is not as good as the next guys?

I made an appointment with Rob Westergard of Westedge Cycle, Anacortes WA do a 36,000-mile service on my 2006 BMW K1200LT motorcycle. Two weeks later, the day I brought my bike in for service, Rob informed me that he was not familiar with my bike and the one-day turn-around I could expect from a Certified BMW Motorcycle Mechanic would take him two days. Due to Rob’s reputation and looking for an alternative to driving to Seattle for motorcycle service I agreed to have Rob start doing service on my motorcycle.Upon picking my bike up from Westedge Cycle, it quickly became apparent that Rob was correct. Rob was not familiar with my bike! When I went to fuel for the first time post-service I was unable to completely open my fuel access compartment. Rob reinstalled my motorcycle cover incorrectly. I went back to Rob with this problem and he did fix it by forcing the rubber dam material that was blocking the door from opening, back into place with a screwdriver.I keep a fuel log, as a lot of people do, and realized that I was experiencing a 8.3% mpg fuel economy drop within the first 1,500 miles post-service at Westedge Cycle. Since I take great pains and expense, $900.00 for this service, to keep my motorcycle running in top condition I contacted Rob to see if maybe the fuel mixture might be running too ‘rich’. I was hoping the fuel mixture could be adjusted by a simple turn of a screwdriver. Rob told me that keeping a fuel log was absurd, and demanded that since I was worried about a drop of fuel efficiency after his service, that I should take my bike elsewhere and then hung the phone up on me. HE ACTUALLY HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME!I learned my lesson. Even though Rob might have his business plastered with BMW Motorrad signs and have his website loaded up with BMW motorcycle photos, giving you the impression that he’s a BMW motorcycle mechanic … there is no substitute for a Certified BMW Motorcycle Mechanic!
