Stopped in this small shop today. Clara the owner was watering her plants. This store is known for its flutes, but there is much more. Clara makes some of the jewelry and carries jewelry made by locals. She took the time to explain how a pendant I was interested in was made and all about the artist. Learning about the pendant and the artist made it more special. Needless to say I bought it. Thank you Clara.
The owner gave me a quick flute lesson; way more detail, professionalism, and courtesy than expected.
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of native american flutes.
The owner of this store (Clara) has the heart of gold. Especially... if youre into looking for flutes. My son and I went in there to ask about flutes, hoping to get someone who knew what they were talking about, and boy did we! She talked to us for an hour, explaining everything! Pretty much an hour lesson! She was knowledgeable and very sweet. If you are looking for a flute, but dont know who to talk to... call or visit this store! Highly recommend! Amazing customer service!
I decided three months ago I wanted to learn to play the Native American Flute. This store came up in my research along with others, so I decided to vacation in Sedona to make the purchase. You should go into this store with high expectations and they will be exceeded! Clara is masterful in her ability to help you find the right flute for you. I dont know how many hours I was there. She was patient, knowledgeable and kind. If you are in the market for a quality flute, only shop at Bonanza! My flute and I are very happy!
Clara was awesome. She took the time to show me the different flutes and allow me to try them out to see what sound I liked best. She even taught me some basics on playing the flute. What a wonderful experience and a wonderful person. Thanks so much Clara. -Steve
Not only did I find a beautiful flute at a reasonable price, I also met Clara who spent time explaining the differences of each and helped me choose the perfect flute. She even gave me a lesson on how to play my beautiful, new flute. I highly recommend Bonanza Flutes & Jewelry.
Absolutely adorable people and excellent interaction. I truly loved the experience and will never forget the time spent with Claire.Thank you so much Claire!
I happened by this store last May and was delighted by the experience. Theres a wonderful selection of flutes, and Clara is very knowledgeable and very kind. When I make it back to Sedona, I will certainly be stopping by Bonanza again.
I was on the search for a Native American Flute and this store was mentioned. They carry a nice selection of flutes and I couldnt believe how attentive and how much guidance we got from Clara with choosing the right flute. I ended up buying 3! Also had some nice gifts my wife ended up buying. Just a great experience with above and beyond service. These are high quality musician-gtade flutes. They are not cheap gift store knock offs. So, if youre in Sedona and just HAVE to explore this instrument, go there!
The owner worked with us to select the perfect addition to my wife’s charm bracelet. We were here two years ago and they took care of us again! Clara is amazing!!
Short Version: Do yourself a big favor. Do NOT buy a flute in other stores before checking this place out.Long Version: Having heard a Native American flute while traveling through Redwoods on our two month trip out west, I knew I had to have one. It wasnt until Sedona when I ran across a few High Spirit Flutes in a shop across town. Before pulling the trigger I jumped online to do some research into the brand and call around town to find what I wanted and compare prices. When I called Bonanza, the owner Clara told me she no longer carried High Spirit but to come check out her offerings and if they werent superior, shed send me down the street to a High Spirit dealer.Well, I stopped by and I am so so glad that I did. They carried flutes by 4 different makers, all of which were plainly superior in quality to the High Spirits Id just held. It was not even close. Not only that, but they were about 25% cheaper to boot!!! As if that wasnt enough, the owners were the sweetest people you could ask for. Clara spent probably 30 minutes letting me try the different sizes and keys, from different makers to find what I wanted. She then gave me a lesson and some helpful tips. This is the kind of small American business we should take pride in supporting and I cant recommend them enough. As for my flute, I played it all over the rest of the country and even brought it to the bottom of the Grand Canyon with me backpacking. It makes an excellent backpacking instrument due to the extremely light weight and is an absolute joy to play in beautiful settings. Who knows, maybe on our next trip back out Ill have become an accomplished enough player to warrant an even better instrument.
Clara matched my 9 year old flautist daughter with small a Native American flute. My daughter figured out how to play it on her own just like Clara said she would. I would recommend this store to others who are looking for flutes or souvenirs. Clara let us know she has Ph. D in Chinese history and used to teach at UC Berkeley. She is wonderful. Thank you Clara.
Native American flutes and drums in this store are of exceptionally fine quality. Famous flute makers such as JP Gomez, Butch Hall, Stella, High Spirit and Phil Caldwell showcase their flutes there.Owner Clara is a fine flute player. She knows a lot about flutes. When beginners buy a flute there, Clara will give them a free lesson with learning materials.I am very happy with 2 flutes and a drone (double chambered) from Bonanza. All my flute music friends bought their flutes there.I am not into drums. But just one look at the drums styles, selections and occasionally listen to other customers testing the sound quality, I can tell these are of super quality as well.M. Langlois
The owners are so extremely nice and helpful. She even taught me how to start playing a Native American Navajo Flute. I ended up buying four after I discovered I could play fairly easily. Wonderful people and very nice store. Going to visit them again next time we go to Sedona, AZ.
I first went to this wonderful place the first time we ever went to Sedona. The owners were amazing, customer service was above and beyond, beautiful jewelry and many other wonderful gifts! So when we went again, I had to go visit, and they remember us too! And I cant wait we are going in March and I will visit them again!
Clara and Kurt were delightful, knowledgable and helped me make my first Native American flute purchase. Clara helped me find the perfect key of flute and worked with me to be sure I was happy with my purchase. I cant recommend this shop enough!
The owner gave me a flute lesson and was so sweet!
I am delighted with my Butch Hall Flute which the owner helped me chose and test. She also gave me playing tips, scales and a fleece carrier. She was helping other customers in the same way. I heard her giving very frank and honest advice, as she matched the flutes to customers ability. Yes, I might have gotten it a little cheaper elsewhere, outside Sedona. But her advice and demonstration on various instruments was priceless. The whole experience was a wondrrful journey of discovery.
We have been Shopping at Bonanza for over 10 years. We love the place and the owners Curt and Clara have become friends of the Family. We wont shop anywhere else in Sedona!
Weve passed this way before many times while visiting Sedona. Ive been searching for a NAF for years now, and when we strolled by, my husband saw their sign from the street Jewelry, Jerky and Flutes... he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the courtyard before I knew what was happening... Kurt greeted us. He was so kind and sweet, and when I asked about the flutes, he pointed us towards his wife, who was helping other people with their purchase. He could not stop complimenting her and sharing with us her accolades. When she began helping us, she immediately started giving me a lesson. She pulled out a few different flutes for me to try and was very frank and honest with her advice. Longer story short, I ended up getting my first NAF, a Butch Hall in Concert A. If I had the money, I would have also gotten flutes in other keys...Flute buying aside,... meeting Kurt and Clara were one of the highlights of this trip to Sedona (and the trip even included a first visit to the Grand Canyon!). I absolutely love meeting new people, especially folks who live in this beautiful place of Sedona. My husband and I made new friends in Clara and Kurt, and they added the warmth and friendliness we look for in our travels! We look forward to staying in touch with them. They were both so encouraging to me as I played the NAF for the very first time! It was really a sweet and memorable experience purchasing my first NAF from them, and I cant wait for our next trip out to Sedona. I played my flute during our car drive back home to San Diego and have been composing spontaneous tunes that my husband and I still hum while spending time with our baby boy and doing chores around the house. Thank you so much, Clara and Kurt! We hope to see you sooner than later!Christiane and Jared
