Large selection of healthy plants and beautiful planters. Enjoyed the indoor store with home decor also!
The employees that I encountered went above and beyond to help me in my situation. I would most definitely come back for another house plant next time!
Huge place with everything you could possibly want. Went for some plants, stayed for the music. A Live band was playing outside!Awesome place, Great idea...Highly recommend 👍👍
Great garden store... very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Great place with a tasteful selection of fall decorations. Selection of plants was small but that is due to the time of year.
The service and functioning of the store have gone downhill. We waited at the checkout for over 20 minutes while one worker took intermittent trips to the back of the store to ask someone there, or try to look up what to because one of the codes they use to ring things up wasn’t working. The kind of houseplant we wanted to buy was there but most of them were sunburned from having been set in the wrong spot. We asked if they had better ones in the back and they said “yes, probably, but we can’t bring one out because they aren’t in inventory yet.” This was a trip to take my mom to buy a plant for Mother’s Day so she could pick the one she liked. I had a good experience here a couple years ago and was excited to drive the 45 minutes to take my mom. Decidedly a bummer - but they do have cool knickknacks, vases and pots. A little pricey.
Really nice place to go Christmas decor/decorating items. Staff very knowledgeable also. They have the Thames candle/scents every year. Best candle for the holidays. Can be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
Theres always a friendly face to help me with my plant material and also a friendly face at the checkout.
Very disappointed. I rarely write reviews but I was really disturbed by the way I was treated. An associate stood over me and reminded me at 8:03 and again at 8:07 that they closed at 8pm. I was considerate and moved quickly and knew exactly what I was looking for. If i didnt really need it, I would have walked right out. Never going back. Not what I would expect from a long standing business. You are very much missed Don.
We were shopping for seeds today. What a great selection! The houseplants looked gorgeous. I cannot wait for spring!
Loved the selection of plants, planters, and fertilizer. Found food specifically for African violets which was awesome!
Lovely place with a lot to offer.
Plants are always such great quality, and staff are very helpful and pleasant. Prices are high though.
Good selection of houseplants, and a lot of cute home decor stuff. Their outdoor selection was limited, probably due to the time of year.
The staff are pleasant and helpful, and there is an adequate selection of merchandise for home and garden. I was a little disappointed with the selection of herbs, and some prices seemed a little high.
Amazing! Would love to get a summer job here!
Clean and organized. Plenty of signage asking for 6ft if space between shoppers.
Lovely, healthy plants, plenty of supplies, pleasant enployees.
Amazing selection of plants and seasonal decor. Top quality beautiful arranged and overall fun store to visit.
Had small Christmas trees and associate was very helpful.
Awesome garden center. Id probably go there all the time if I lived in state.
Fantastic place to become a plant daddy
I am consistently amazed and delighted by the extraordinary Christmas decor found at Homestead Gardens. Each year they seem to find new, interesting and beautiful ornaments and decor to brighten the Holidays. It is also the only place I can find my favorite Christmas scent: The Smell of Christmas. Orange and spice brings back so many happy memories. Also got new goggles for looking at the Christmas lights on our tree. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything you need to make your Holidays merry and bright can be found here.
Nice place, little pricey but theyve got nice stuff.
Just tried to buy some over priced rocks, with the amount of staff there I dont know why I was running around writing down SKU numbers, walked out.
Great plants and home decor
I will say the store is clean, but for me certain things were over priced that were half dead. No employee paid attention or asked if I needed help. One guy was seemed like he was hiding while in his phone the whole time. I finally got someone to ask a question about a price and was told they werent inventoried, thats why they are in the hole. They were out beside the other plants though. Every other garden center I have went to that brought stuff out without a price always went above and beyond to help me. No worries Ill take my money elsewhere.
I purchased several pepper, tomato and eggplant plants a few weeks ago. When I got the plants home I noticed that many of them had various kinds of bugs on the underside of the leaves.I returned them, but wasnt able to replace them because the plants there that day were in very poor condition (and Im not up for the challenge of trying to bring one back to health - Id prefer to purchase it healthy).Very disappointed and found a much better selection of available healthy plants over at Home Depot
Quick in. Quick out. I knew what I wanted, knew where it was located and was able to pay without hassle.
Always a great selection
Bottom line, love this place because they have HUGE selection that is all nicely marked and organized. Staff are friendly and helpful. Store is always spotless and clean. But you do have to play the game as their default sticker prices are incredibly expensive. For example, perennials marked as $4.99 at Home Depot/ Lowes will be marked $7.99 here. BUT if you sign up for their newsletter you will get a $10 off $50 coupon every week and will see all their sales and specials (which are not always well marked in store). Also, if you sign up for their frequent shopper club (yes, I know super annoying that everyone does this) then you earn points equating to 2% return (1 point per dollar, 250 points equals $5 off purchase...and all happens in the computer just by you giving your phone number at checkout so not too bad). That said, they have many more options and selections than anywhere else in the area (and we tried dozens trying to find some items we wanted), they have sections marked for Maryland Native Plants, and they are a local Maryland company that grows a lot of their own plants. I now go here exclusively and just time my purchases to their sales/ specials or at least use the $10 off $50 coupon if I cant wait to buy a regular priced item. Break the big box addiction and support your local companies that pay taxes back to our state and employ local people.
Love to shop here for neat gifts
I have bought plants here in the past and they were great :)
Always has treasures, both what was on the list and those things that just need to go home with you 😁.
A wide array and large supply of garden products, including Christmas decorations. We found all we were looking for. Prices seemed high on some items. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was crowded.
This is a smaller version of their main location in Davidsonville. This store still has much of the same types of lawn ornaments, patio furniture, shrubs, bushes and flowers. Their staff here is also terrific. They had helpful advice and had what we needed to solve insects attacking our shrubs. For me, this is a more convenient location
Lots of plants! Great gift shop indoors.
Helpful staff, cool plants, and a nice selection of indoor decor
First time in the store ... loved it!!
Went in a little over an hour before closing in search of gravel, edging rocks and maybe some plants for the front yard. The place was empty except for about 5 employees, but none of them even made eye contact, much less asked if we needed help. Prices werent labeled clearly enough for me to fend for myself, so after wandering around for about ten minutes, I left empty handed. Hopefully Ill be able to find someplace a little friendlier for my gardening needs.
Great customer service!
I bought some rare Cuban Mint (mojito) that happened to be plagued with mint rust from here and it spread all throughout my plants and killed every single one of them. Not just the other mint varieties, but the basil, thyme, oregano, and rosemary. I was so excited they had the cuban mint, and thought maybe it was just a little brown from transplant shock or something else, but it was infected. Just make sure you fully inspect your plants and isolate them from your known good plants.
Best local garden store!
Great plants and accessories for plants!
Worst outdoor garden. This place is OVERPRICED on all garden supplies and plants. The plants I purchased at the Severna Park location were of POOR quality. The rose I purchased I mildew which spread to my other established roses and killed them.My advice: go to Home Depot or Lowes where the prices are more reasonable and all plants come with a 1 year guarantee (when you return with a receipt). Alsp the people in the Home Depot garden dept. are much more knowledgeable about the plants they sell.In my opinion, the plant quality and employees at Homestead dont even deserve one star. OVERPRICED,OVERPRICED,OVERPRICED!
Great store, wonderful employees and they are dog friendly. They love dogs and my 15 year old rescued canine love of my life absolutely cant wait to get in there and start smelling around. My wife buys and I dog walk.
Wonderful garden store. Not only carries garden supplies, but patio supplies, knickknacks, clothing, jewelry etc. Always enjoy wandering around the store.
Im on my way to my wedding.. I forgot my bouquet so I stopped by to see if they had any flowers I could carry, when I got out of the car I was in such a hurry I DROPPED MY ENGAGEMENT RING!!! and didnt notice until I was 2 miles away.. I went back to the store and the staff was so GREAT they helped me look and one of the girls found it! Although they didnt have any flowers for me they had an AWESOME STAFF! to whom Ill forever be GREATFUL to for SAVING my wedding day!!
They never fail me with their exquisite decorations, @ 75% off it makes it like Christmas all over again.
During Myrtle money weekend our family was out of town. Despite being able to provide proof of this with credit card receipts, management would not honor my $75 of myrtle money. There was a sign posted that day offering mrtyle money to new members. So management would not honor a loyal customers mrtyle money, but would give it away to a new client that day? I used to be a loyal customer and would request gift cards from there from my friends and family. I now am supporting local family owned nurseries that will hopefully be as loyal to me as I am to them.
Great selection and knowledgeable staff! This is a great place to get anything from holiday decorations to garden mulch.
Found everything on the list.
Good selection of plants.
What a joke! I called to ask do they have specific plant.. All excited drove 45 min just to be showed NOT EVEN CLOSE to plant I was asking for! LEARN THE NAME OF The PLANTS YOU ARE SELLING!
This place is great, but it does not have the wide variety of plants that their Davidsonville location does. Very helpful staff.
Full service garden center with a friendly knowledgeable staff willing go assist in any way.
Incredible wonderland of garden and home decor among other things. Im so glad I stopped by!
Last year I bought plants that were labeled as jalapeno peppers and bush style cucumbers. I got anaheim peppers, which ruined my hot sauce plans, and climbing cucumbers, which jammed up my whole garden. I told the staff about it and they didnt care. This year I still, foolishly, wanted to support my local garden store. I visited and they didnt have cucumbers yet. I called every week for four weeks and always got the same reply, well get them sometime. Finally, when I expressed frustration, the girl on the phone hung up on me.Bottom line, if you dont care what comes up in your garden, and you enjoy poor treatment...head on over to Homestead Gardens, Severna Park.
Great selection of flowers & shrubs!Their employees are knowledgeable & friendly! I highly recommend Homestead Gardens!
Walking around there is a whole lot of expensive nothing. The $10 ornament my wife bought broke when she accidentally dropped the bag. It was only wrapped in tissue paper. They didnt have boxes.
This was the first time I went to Homestead Gardens. A huge assortment of plants, sales person was very friendly and helpful.
I’m from California and had hoped to find plants native to the east coast but they were the same as in California somewhat less colorful.Sadly many were left unwatered, wilting and in sad shape.
I only bought 6 wood bundles, which were on display in the store, and all of them were wet or damp. Our fires were lackluster and the wood burned too slow, sizzled and popped; telltale signs of wood not seasoned or stored properly.
Love it there. But very hot. Miserable.
Awesome plant selection, but prices are high.
Always organized with a great selection of plants!
Loved it! Will go back on payday!
Very knowledgeable and helpful. Friendly staff
Very helpful and knowledgeble.
