Best management in the business. At first I wondered if I was being treated great just because I was signing up for a storage unit, but then after I watched a Dana interacted with 2 other current tenants, I definitely knew I was lucky to rent from this Acorn site. The facilities are clean, access is easy and straight forward. Although the pricing appears on the surface to be a bit higher than some of the other facilities, I am comfortable that their direct approach and superior management- customer service is well worth the price.

Rented 10x20 for one month. Got my most of my stuff stolen!!! no camera in the isle so anybody can steal your stuff. Will not recommend this place to NO ONE!

I stored my furniture here for years, in between moves. For context, Ive used them twice. for about 3 years(?) total. I rented a climate controlled unit each time and it was a great experience. I must say they are the cleanest units, and best climate control in the area, IMO.All was great until I randomly needed a second unit, temporarily. I was told (at the time of signing up for my second unit with the temp manager) that I DIDNT need to sign some form for auto-payment because I already had a unit there, it would just go on my existing account.To my surprise about 2 months later, I had some ridiculous fees for not paying for the second unit AND THEY LOCKED ME OUT OF ALL MY UNITS I went in person to fix it, and it was the same temp manager there that day (that signed me up for my second unit, and she remembered). I apparently set my second unit up on auto-payment (again) with her. Next month, same BS. OMGAfter trying to be reasonable and talking with both managers, the one who signed me up for the second unit originally, (and she agreed it was a mistake what was happening) there must have been a complete and utter breakdown of communication, and/or lack empathy, and or decency at that point.Ensues: BeCaUsE I DiDnT ApPrOvE aUtOpAmEnT by signing a form for that SpEcIfIc UnIt. I aM Wrong. They justified (Im sure legally but not morally) all fees, and discounted any history of my 100% payment for years. I cant deal with that so I moved my stuff out, and would not recommend this business on principle. They use paperwork as a reason to steal your money, and its all in good conscience to them.

Previously had two units for a couple of years and just recently a larger unit opened up and was able to transfer easily. Dana was very communicative during the move. We had a minor issue with the keys but she worked with me and we were able to get it taken care of quickly. Dana answered her staffs questions even on her day off to help me get moved. Paid up front for another year with them. Property is well taken care of and I never have issues getting into my units when I need to.

Absolutely terrible place! I would not advise anyone rent from them... Very nice at first then say you didnt pay when you did an send a letter instead of calling an threaten to take your items you are storing in their unit not very professional at all...money lost so please be aware!

Came here to rent a U-Haul van and Dana assisted in the process she was super helpful and answered all the questions I had throughout the process. Very friendly and made the process a breeze. Location was convenient and I will for sure be returning if I need to rent another U-Haul or storage unit.

Rates seemed fair. Area and inside buildings was well lit. Convenient anytime access. The only negative I have is there was some build up of ice near doors during the winter. Have to be careful with that.

When looking for a storage space, I had been to many places to tour their facilities. I found that each place I toured had positives and negatives, except for Acorn Mini Storage in Shakopee. There are two very important things that sold me on this facility. The first was the way the property looked. The place looks as though someone really cares. It is clean, neat, and super tidy. The second was the management here. Dana is the manager at this location. She takes pride in her position and runs this place as if it were her very own. The amount of effort and professionalism that she puts forth here to make sure her customers are taken care of is out of this world. I would very, very highly recommend this location anytime you need a storage solution.

Went to pick up a one way u haul. They had a rush of customers on arrival. Several issues (out of anyones control ie computer problems, etc) that the new employee Trish, working on her own, handled like a boss. Highly recommend Acorn for storage (had them before) as well as uhaul services. If youre reading this Dana, she deserves a raise.

Acorn is the best staffed, most well run and most secure of the 6 storage facilities we have rented in. Ours is a regular unit, not climate controlled. It is nice and dry with no leaks from rain or snow, and the drainage is excellent so the cement slab stays dry. Downside is that its on an industrial gravel road, so there is a dust problem especially in the front part of the unit, and we keep a mouse trap set for the occasional intruder.

Dana was very helpful throughout our deration here. Always a rapid response to any issues. She always went above and beyond with any other issues. We highly recommend acorn storage in Shakopee as place to store you items.

Ive had a LOT of storage spaces over the years, but this Acorn facility was one of the all time best of them all. The manager Dana was extremely helpful on the days when I needed assistance of any kind. She helped getting enough salt down when I was loading on an icy January day. She helped me find the right boxes I needed in her on-site store. and to top it off, they keep a super clean bathroom AND piping hot cider or your warm beverage of choice in the keurig. You cant ask for more from a storage facility or a storage manager. Thank You Dana!

Dana Dietrich is the manager for this location. It continues to be a good experience all around with clean units and if you need shelves they have them at a reasonable cost. Dana works hard and does whatever it takes to make sure the customer is happy. Ive had back surgery and sometimes it is hard to bend down and lift things. So, here comes Dana with a longer door rope! I’ve been really impressed with her devotion and professionalism. ACORN is lucky to have her and I highly recommend Shakopee because of this.

I gave notice to vacate my unit, as instructed by manager. Still charged the next month!! No response to my calls OR a credit!!! Now forced to dispute the charges and cancel my card to protect against further charges on a unit that I no longer use!! Terrible business practice to put customers through this!

I admit its a fine storage facility but there is just one problem...there are only cameras on the outside of the buildings, none inside where the temp controlled units are. Well there is a reason I bring this up is because someone broke into our unit and burglarized it, but that wasnt enough they had to trash it too. Couldnt prove who did it on the count of no inside cameras. So you guys please get them installed Id give you a 5 star rating.

I decided to go with this facility bc they offered FREE use of a U-Haul truck for 24 hrs. I agreed and got my moving helpers lined up so I would simply have to go sign off on the storage unit and truck and just start moving. Unfortunately, when I got there to sign the papers and get the keys, I was told I would have to pay 99 cents per mile for the truck plus return any fuel I used. I can understand replacing the fuel but 99 cents a mile is NOT FREE! I rented a $115.00 unit but the total paid including the truck ended up being $219.63.This is, Bait and Switch, pure and simple. When a person is moving and has everything ready and lined up, then at the last minute, when its to late to cancel everything and everybody, the person is told they will have to pay for something that was offered to them for free, that is a scam! Of course I felt I had no choice at that point but to take the NOT FREE rental truck...I had been scammed! I do not recommend this place!
