Super friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. Bought madden 22 day before the release and had a great time with the guys in the store. Will be back again next year for the next Madden release!

The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They have a variety of games,systems, and accessories; both new and gently used. Always find something my kid wants from video games to anime to tee shirts.

The store was clean and organized, but they only had one person working which made the wait a little long. I went in for used 3DS games, and they only had a couple. I didnt purchase anything because I could buy the games they had brand new on eShop for the same price.

As a loyal GameStop customer for the last 20 years they have Never disappointed me not once. Plus as a pro member you extras such as discounts on used games, reward points for pre-orders and who could forget GameStop exclusives. Let me tell you that you wont find them at Walmart or Gamers Ally.

We had got here just in time to get the console we were searching for. All others were sold out. The staff is mainly knowledgeable of most of the updated and retro platforms and gaming systems. They will actually go the extra mile to search on the website to check if something could be ordered in online and will give suggestions if they no longer carry a particular item. I love GameStop.

Sometimes they have excellent customer service 🙄 and Sometimes they dont have all the answers you need but as a whole you will have a great experience

My son is an avid gamer and waiting on new ps5 release. While we were visiting shelby location gamestop we were informed by an employee on how she took her pre-order and placed it on eBay. She says she is hoping to get her admittedly higher asking price. So unfair to loyal customers

Truthfully the worst Gamestop that I have visited. I went in today to see what sale was going on as it is Tuesday and Gamestop always has new discounts and such. As I visit, I dont have my hopes up for a pre-order for the new PlayStation 5 that comes out tomorrow but I was going to ask anyways, doesnt hurt right?To my surprise though, an associate behind the counter (A short, round, sandy blonde haired female.), mentions how she has got a pre-order for the console that many have been trying to reserve. Then she says something that surprised me, she says she has her PS5 on Ebay and probably wont be getting what she is asking, as it is a marked up price.I have been a loyal customer for gamestop for over 10 years and this, this took me by surprise. An associate using her benefits at Gamestop to knowingly mark-up the price and make a little extra just because she is lucky enough to be one of the few that gets to know, before customers do, when the consoles are available. People like this shouldnt be able to work in places such as Gamestop, where they can use their benefits to cheat the system.Many people are anticipating the release of this console and myself, I check the Gamestop website EVERY DAY to see if I can get lucky and reserve a PlayStation 5. I will be sticking to my local gamestop which hasnt let me down yet, always friendly and knowledgeable staff.If I was you, I would find another place to shop for your gaming needs other than this location. Try out Forest City NCs Gamestop that is right next to Walmart here in town. I wont be going back to Shelbys Gamestop, they give me a bad taste in my mouth. Been going to this gamestop for about 9 years so its sad to say but the last three times I went in to buy a new game they did not have it and I had to go to Walmart, on all three occasions this year walmart did have the game I was looking for, service is on par but selection is atrocious, my advise if you want a new game just save some time and hit walmart right around the corner

Great place to go if your a kid and your looking for video games that’s a really good place to go because they have lots of different games to choose from,also if your not a video game fan that’s ok because they have lots of funky pops. And best of all they have great deals on theirs funky pops. And yes this was made by a kid :/

The staff was very friendly and helpful. As soon as we walked in they greeted is and asked if we needed help. Even though we declined they still spoke to us and answered any questions we had. They were also very informed of when the new games were coming out.

Great store with a friendly staff. I buy all my games here. The prices are the same as the big box stores, but you dont have to deal with big box crowds! You are in and out with your new game in less than 5 minutes. Their app is pretty good as well. They also have a discount/membership program that always saves me money.

This place is horrible do not go here I looked for a Nintendo Wii and said that I could pick store pick up, I picked store pickup .When I went to the store the employee told me that there was no Nintendo wii.This is false advertising and should be facing some type of punishment like giving me exactly what I saw on the website

Steer clear of these store they are here to cheat you and their online trade values are false. Went in today to trade a game list as 8.00. Nope site was a lie they gave 2.13 instead. Visit gamehaven of forest city they dont cheat you and offer 50 Percent trade credit on all games.

I went in to trade in a Wii u console and a game for extra gas money to make it thru the week. They said we werent able to trade in the console, because their tv doesnt work. So not only are they under staffed, but the stores display set up is tight and uncomfortable with so many people in there. To top it off theres a rude woman doing the transactions.I ended up dealing with trading in the game to get the 7 dollars to cover wasted gas for even driving to this store. I think well be going to gamers alley for all of our gaming purchases and transactions.

The guy working there I think his name was Paul helped me find a game that was fun, great place for games.

This place is outrageous. $20 more expensive on games than anywhere else. They sit within walking distance to walmart. Wanted to do business but will not price match. Used game is $54.99 and walmart has it new for $39.99. Plus if you want to trade any game in they only give you like $3 for them. Guess walmart it is.

My husband went to trade in his Xbox One. They hooked it up to the monitor/tv & the screen read not supported which clearly had NOTHING to do with our Xbox. I wouldnt have been so upset had the guy actually took the time to help. He could have cared less & made sure we could tell. It took everything in me not to flip on him. We took our console to Forest City NC Game Stop where their monitor/tv pulled it right up, no problem. Their service was wonderful, they had extra hands there to greet customers as they walked in the door to help make black Friday run smoother. I know Shelby was busy, I realize customers can be frustrating, but his attitude was not needed there on a day like today. If that wasnt bad enough, we later found out that a friend of ours went to trade in his Xbox & they told him they wouldnt take it because the remote wasnt wireless. But that was the remote that came with the Xbox at purchase 🤦🏽‍♀️ He took his console to Gastonia and had no problem trading it. Throw the whole Shelby Game Stop in the trash. Relocate to a bigger location & hire people that have knowledge about gaming and actually care about customers.

Like anywhere, some workers are great, others eh... But I have had a woman (Dont know name, nice hair? Lol) manager help me out with a 3ds problem, and that alone made me come back to that location. As far as their prices and such, do you people really think this is Their price, ITS A FRANCHISE AND IF WAL-MART IS SO CLOSE... I mean how would I look eating a whopper across the parking lot from a McDs and going on and on about how the Burger King sucks... If you dont get it YOU NEVER WILL.

I love my local gamestop. They always have the newest games the day they come out. They can be really expensive sometimes but what game places arent. Their preowned games are really cheep and dont mess up when you play them.

The employee was very irritable. Their internet was down and he was on the phone trying to get it fixed while simultaneously answering store phone calls and checking out customers so he was understandably stressed. But there are ways to handle stress and he was not handling it well. No apologies, short answers, and blaming the customers. He made me feel like i did something wrong. I gave him time to answer calls and try to get everything sorted but he definitely didnt want to give any customer the time of day. The card reader was down so I even went out of my way to get cash from the ATM and came back, but even then I was hesitant to make my purchase due to how hostile he was making the environment. Again I understand he was under a lot of stress, but thats no excuse to treat customers poorly, especially when you work for a dying business.
