I absolutely love this diner. I dont go often, but when I do Im more than happy. I get the cheddar bacon ranch fries as an appetizer, and my boyfriend always gets a gyro. Ive had their stuffed shells (which were great), and this is where I recommend going if someone wants to support a local small business! They were even open for takeout during the lock down! Which we got gyros for, because I knew if I got something else, my boyfriend wouldnt share his gyro with me. From what Ive seen theyre only ever open until 8 pm, but they do open very early. I forget what these are pictures of but they were delicious
This was our first visit to Diner 39. We had an amazing experience and will make this a favorite to return to. The food was perfect in every way, just make sure your not in a rush. Our wait was a tiny bit on the long side but so worth it. You need to update the pictures online because the food that arrived to our table looked way better! Amazing lasagna, burgers, wraps and breakfast platters. The fries and appetizers were wonderful as well! Thank you Diner 39!

Food was amazing, OMG. Literally drove 2.5hrs to come back today on 3/2/21, but when we arrived at 1pm, they were closed? I was SO bummed!! Went to IHOP over near Ontario, and had a good experience there, but REALLLY wanted to come here instead.Gonna try to come down one more time, and will adjust my review accordingly if needed.
Took a friend here for her birthday. Let me just say the food was spectacular!! Get the lasagna it doesnt disappoint
Went there with a very good friend and my girlfriend ... The place was exceptionally clean ... the atmosphere was warm and inviting ... We were greated at the door with a warm and bright smiling face ... seated quickly in a cozy lil booth ... ALL of the entraes looked incredibly appetizing! However ... I can truly not comment on just how delicious all three entraes tasted ... On that i will honestly say that the made from scratch homemade ooyy-gooie cheesie LASAGNA was second only to my older sisters!! I most definitely RECOMMEND that if ya ever over that way ... Shelby, Ohio ... Take time to stop in for an incredibly memorable delicious meal!!I give it a 4 👍
30mins and still no food asked if forgot to put order in told i was leaving asked if i was still paying for nothing ? Wouldnt go back to this place

We enjoyed excellent food and service at Diner 39. We are covid-wary so we only stop at restaurants when we see few or no cars in their parking lots. We felt very safe. All the required precautionary steps had been taken, to include masks on all employees and masks required of customers, every other table not in use, hand sanitizer available, etc. We enjoyed a delicious meal out and felt very safe doing so. Great food, friendly staff. There is so much variety on their menu that it was hard to choose. They are sure to have something for everyone in the family.
This review started with 2 stars. First for the parents, they have no kids menu. Waitress had to ask what kids could order. No big deal. Its not very busy. Ordered the clam basket and 39 burger. Got a cup of Italian wedding soup with the clams. Not good. I was told there was rice in it but the flat rice shaped noodles were over cooked and it was bland. Food comes out. Burger looked like someone threw up on it. Bland meat. The throw up wasnt bad. Fries were hot which is great. Clam strips were pretty good too. Waitress only stopped twice so we ended up sharing a napkin between 3 of us. Drunk me would have been happy here but overall the food is underwhelming. Season the patty. Toast the bun. Waited for 10 minutes and still no check or refill and Im thirsty. This place can be good, just gotta put more effort into it

This place was WONDERFUL!! The wait staff was amazing, the portions were more than adequate, and the food was so delicious!!! My husband and I are going to make this a weekly lunch date. Didnt have to wait long at all for the food, and I honestly couldnt believe how big my sandwich was, or how GOOD!!! Cant wait to go back!!!
The food was delicious here. I ordered a Mexican omelette and it was huge! Lots of onions and peppers inside, with hash browns on the side as well as toast. The only downside was they were busy and it took us 45 min to get our food.The restaurant was clean and it was busy. The waitress was great too!
Ate here today 11/13/19 for the 1st time. Never even knew this restaurant was there. Good food, especially the fries! good coffee, and good service. Prices fair as well. Ill be back.
Went for breakfast and the food was great! The hash browns weren’t greasy which is unusual, but mine were just right. Friendly staff, good food, and plenty of food for the money
Great place, unbelievable menu! So many sandwiches, melts, and wraps. Chicken parm is awesome. Buffalo chicken wrap is outstanding. Prices were great service was great worth a stop when in Shelby

Everytime Ive been here the servers are so friendly. The restaurant was clean. We got our food really fast. The portion size was HUGE! The food will keep us coming back. This is a great place all around. Very cheap and delicious.

I only had their breakfast, but they make their own sausage, tasty gravy and delightful biscuits.. then afterwards I bought a lemon cupcake to take home because it looked delicious.. and I was right.. HAVE A VISIT, you wont regret the breakfast

The food here is top notch. Service is also very good. I live in Ontario. Take the short drive to Shelby. Its worth it. Good people there. I eat out 90% of the time. Believe me this restaurant is good. Try it.

We stopped to have lunch here to try out somewhere new. We were very impressed as the food was amazing! Our dinners were meatloaf, shrimp, mushroom burger, and a manhattan club. Everything was very very good and portions were good sized. We will go back again. It was nice and clean inside and service was quick.

I ordered the jumbo shrimp stir fry, taste good but he shrimp was no where being close it jumbo barely the size of my little finger. Also want to substitute cold slaw for salad, it would of been an extra charge. Oh come on cabbage is cheap and they couldnt substitute.
Great tasking fish! Terribly high prices though. And the French onion soup would have been much better if theyd put the cheese in it its supposed to come with there wasnt any!

My son and I have been going to the Diner for almost a year - 2 or 3 times a week. I usually order a crispy chicken salad with no cucumber or tomatoes and instead I have an extra egg added in place of the tomatoes and cucumbers. It’s never been an issue until today when I noticed an additional $.50 charge. I asked the waitress to remove the charge. Shortly thereafter, the owner came to my table and proceeded to tell me that my waitress “did it wrong” and she was not going to remove the $.50 charge. In addition, she accused the waitress of “STEALING” from her and could fire her for theft. Keep in mind that I take my son there 2-3 times a week. I then told the owner that I would not be coming back and that is a very sad way to lose a loyal customer to which she stated that she was going to fire the waitress. I’m so disgusted with the owners attitude and feel sorry for anybody that works for her. If the owner had any sense... she would fire herself. PATHETIC!!!! Extremely unprofessional and an embarrassment to herself.
2nd time here and still impressed. Has a real down to earth atmosphere. Good service, not great but good. Could use some music or something to break the sound of silence. The place needs a make over but Ill look at ugly walls for good food. Not a place to go if youre in a hurry but good prices and quality good. Will be returning.

Everytime Ive been here the food is very good and plenty of it. Always end up needing a box to take food home. The help are really friendly and checking to see if you need refills or anything else. Shelby has needed a place like this for years.

Waitress was awesome. Food was disappointing my daughter hamburger was really raw meat after addressing it with manager she just gave us 10% so we paid for food we didnt get to eat so lost money. Unfortunately that ruined my Valentines with my wife cuz that atmosphere was kinda like walking on eggshells. Restaurant was clean and down home kinda interior was nice just sucked with food undercooked and un appealing. I will never come back do to the great experience my family and I encountered.
