I just came back from Valley Firearms and was very happy with my purchase, I was looking for .22 short rounds for my Colts and Rick at Valley was the only store around to have it in stock. Great store and very helpful owner. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of a great firearms experience.

I had a very pleasurable experience at Valley fire arms that I wanted to share. I’ve been in the market for this particular firearm for quite some time. Went to other gun stores looking for it. No luck at the other places. It was either out of stock or the sales people tried to sell me on something else. I stopped by Valley fire arms where the staff greeted me as soon as I came in and didn’t have to wait to talk to someone about what I was looking for. I asked Rick, the owner, if he could get me this certain gun. He did and I couldn’t be happier. Rick is truly very knowledgeable about anything and everything having to do with firearms. It was a great customer service experience. Thanks.

The first time I made a purchase at valley fire arm seem pretty regular.it was a online purchase, they call me within two weeks to come down to the shop to pick up my order.second experience not so good. placed an order on line almost a month ago and still haven’t heard from these guys ever sense. I called several times and left emails and still no response. My order is already paid.Valley fire arm customer service sucks

I would never do business with this store again. It took me 6 years to get a refund for a gun I purchased but never got possession of. I would highly recommend 111 Elite Firearms in Monroe.... super nice and what a selection!!!

I have bought guns from multiple stores in the North and South . This was my favorite experience purchasing a weapon. Very Friendly Staff, more than knowledgeable. I must have pulled out 10 guns to look at from their wide selection and they took the time going over all the pros and cons till I found the weapon that best suited my intentions. Great store, next gun I buy will be from them.

I have been conducting business with Valley Firearms for more then 20 years. I have always been treated fairly. Valley goes out of its way to accommodate my needs. Its an enjoyable experience being treated as a valuable customer. Today was no different when I made a purchase. As a result I plan to utilize Valley for future transactions.

I dont keep my guns very long, I like to buy something, own and shoot it for a while, sell it and get something else new and exciting to play with. So most of my purchases are used guns, sometimes I will buy an occasional new one.The guys at Valley have the best used gun deals I have found anywhere, locally or on the internet. Their online auction descriptions are accurate, usually the guns I buy from them are BETTER than they were described. I have purchased many guns from them through the years. They are nice people, very down to earth, helpful and have a nice clean, uncluttered store.I will continue to do the majority of my business with Valley and I highly recommend them.

I went to this store to sell a few pistols that I cannot use. This was my second visit to the store. I went a few months ago with the same pistols and was offered $1200 for them, being told that a third I had was virtually worthless. I did not accept the offer but was assured it was a good offer and would stand till I came back.I returned to the store today with the firearms they made an offer on and asked for the $1200 they had offered. They came back with half what they had originally offered and refused to look at the materials I had verifying the value of the weapons or the hand-written offer Id been given the first time I was in the store.Instead they showed me a lot of baloney that had no bearing on the value of my pistols, comparing my value to that of completely different pistols and ignoring basic logic. The person I was speaking to, who did not give his name, talked over me (I think because I was female), tried to pretend a G21 was the same as a G20C and got offended when I explained that they were not even close, tried to tell me the 10MM was dying when dealers including Cabellas cant keep the cartridges in stock, tried to compare a barely fired special edition P226 to a worn out police issue piece of junk and was generally loudmouthed and rude. I tried negotiating, even coming down $200... while they stayed at their pathetic offer.I used to use this store frequently for ammunition and bought my first pistol (the one that they considered virtually worthless) here. I will never use or recommend them again.

Small gun shop, but pretty well stocked. They seem knowledgeable and helpful. They helped me look through their stock of pocket pistols. Ultimately, I went with their recommendation for a Remington RM380 and am very happy with the purchase. I went in thinking Ruger LCP and now I’m glad I listened to the advice. The prices seemed pretty fair. Overall, I have no complaints and would recommend giving them a look.

If you are a Connecticut resident read the ENTIRE listing for their Gunbroker auctions and be prepared to not only pay sales tax of 6.35% (completely normal) when you go to pick up your firearm should you be the high bidder but ADDITIONALLY you will be charged $25 for a transfer fee. Ive purchased firearms from many dealers in Connecticut and have never encountered a transfer fee when purchasing a firearm directly from them. To be clear, he does not hide this charge, I just think its kind of a kick in the tail to charge a transfer fee when someone buys directly from you. Update: Ive read your reply and everything that you say is true. Thank you for taking the time to reply. It is true that I have purchased firearms in Connecticut off of GB and have incurred no transfer fees from the selling dealers but you are correct in stating that none of them do anywhere near the volume on GB that you do with a penny start thereby assuming the risk that the selling price may in fact be below the market price. Based on your reply I have changed my rating.

Fantastic little gun store! Both the owner and the clerk there are first class. Stopped in yesterday to see if I could trade in a little Colt Mustang Pocketlite towards a new Glock 43 and having never sold or traded a gun,I didnt know what to expect. All I could say is they gave me a very fair price and were extremely knowledgeable and very professional. Would highly recommend this shop and will definitely do business with them in the near future.

Its a nice shop and Jeff and Rick know what they are doing. Prices, despite what some of the whiners have said here, are competitive and I can compare them across several states and city averages.I was new here and from a gun-friendlier state, I simply picked Valley Firearms from the internet because of its location. Rick and Jeff were a tremendous help while I navigated the myriad of confusing and ambiguous state laws. When I finally received the permit, Rick had already ordered the gun I had said I wanted. If you are looking for hugs and warm and fuzzy feelings this isnt the place for you. But if youre interested in firearms, learning how to handle them or finding the one that is right for you, Rick and Jeff are among the best.

Last year I had a poor customer experience with Valley Firearms and a subsequent apology by the owner helped turn that negative experience into a positive one. After that, I sent the owner an email asking if they had a particular firearm in stock. I hadnt seen it at any other local store and wanted to check it out. Here is his response to me:We do have it. But if you are going to come here and look at the gun, then buy it somewhere else, and then expect us to work on it for free, no thank you.I emailed back and reminded him that I bought THREE firearms from them in the last few months and told him there would be no more. Im all for supporting small businesses but not this one any longer and I encourage others to look elsewhere. These guys have shot themselves in the foot because I have purchased a handful of other firearms from another local store since then. Be prepared to always buy from this store should you ask them any questions. Its all or nothing with them.UPDATE 04/03/18:The owner responded to my review so I wanted to add some additional context that is missing from his comments. I purchased 3 firearms from him within the course of 4 months. I think that is a generous amount of business in a short period of time. Yes, I purchased the LC9S from another dealer since their price was SIGNIFICANTLY lower. If he considers me coming in one time to look at the gun for 20 minutes a significant amount of time then thats my bad. Since at the time I had a better relationship with this owner and had been looking at other firearms he carried, I asked if he might be able to help me with an issue I had with my rear sight on the LC9S. I didnt just come in and expect him to do anything. I sent him an email (see below). He said no problem and to bring it in. There was never any mention of there being a fee for this. If I had known it, I would have simply sent it in to the manufacturer to repair for free. But the bigger issue here is that when I went to pick up the firearm, the slide and the sight were scratched and had a gouge in it. They then wanted to charge me for it even with the damage they caused. If I had known the gun would be damaged during their gunsmithing, I would have never brought it to them. Ultimately I sent the gun back to the manufacturer and they replaced the entire slide for me at no charge. I had spoken with the owner after this event and he apologized and we moved on. However when I asked him if he carried another gun I was interested, he made the comments that were in my original review posted above. In all transparency, here is my email exchange with the owner about my LC9S. I believe my email was extremely transparent and if he had a problem with me bringing in a gun I bought elsewhere he had the opportunity to tell me so but he did not.--------Hi Rick,I hope all is well with you. Its been awhile since I visited your shop. The last time I was there I picked up the LCP II which I really like a lot. In fact, it is the handgun I find myself carrying the most.Last year I picked up an LC9S from Greyson during a sale they were having. It was sort of a spur of the moment purchase. Ive been happy with it but for the life of me cannot adjust the rear sight now matter how hard I bang it. Ive read online that this model seems to be notorious for having a tight rear sight. Do you guys have any tools or tricks to help me adjust the sight? I know I didnt purchase this one from you but Im hoping you might be able to help. Also, I noticed that the Shield has a rebate going on right now. Ive had my eye on them through the various display cases Ive seen them in but havent really taken the time to get a closer look. I assume you guys stock them there so I was hoping maybe to stop by and check one out.Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. Thanks.Below is the owners reply:Hi,Yes we have the Shields in stock.Jeff has a sight pusher for Ruger pistols. If you want to drop the gun off he can probably get to it sometime this week.Rick
