Best ice cream around 😋 we love having any excuse to come treat our family to this place. The employees are all wonderful, big place so no big deal if its busy. They also change up the flavors so its best just to take a visit!!

Amazing ice cream and sorbets! My family loves going to Handels! They have a great reward program, are always well staffed, and have some amazing ice cream! Their flavors are creative but also grounded in what people love. Their version of the blizzard (hurricane) actually has lots of the ingredient. I loved the Reeses version!Conveniently located in Sherwood, they also have late hours and are open until 10PM most nights. I look forward to every visit!

Fav ice cream and such a great deal too! lots of fun flavors my favorites are key lime pie, and caramel apple, but I havent found one that disappoints! my bf and I always share the 4 scoop flight and try new flavors!

When we saw the Best Ice Cream in the United States sign and got our hopes up. It was good ice cream but not what I would call the best. The service was really good and they moved people through quickly.

Ice cream was really good. Its such a pleasure finding an ice cream place that makes their own. Service was very good and its nice to see they have so many different ways to get your ice cream fix.

There is no better ice cream chain out there! We come and get our favorite flavors in quarts (French silk pie, blueberry cobbler, and banana). If Handels ever gets rid of French Silk Pie as a flavor... Im going to be truly heart broken. Always a great experience and the staff are just wonderful. Recently came in and there was a line out the door 30 minutes before close and they didnt seem panicked or frustrated in any way. There is seriously no better ice cream out there. If you have not tried Handels you must at least once!!

They had really good ice cream there it so creamy . It really does taste like homemade ice cream. There where so very helpful there. It was our first time there. We will be coming back. They treat you like family. This is a place to take your family and have a great experience.

Plenty of tasty flavor options, my first time here and I wanted to give the 4 scoop flight a try; although $6 for these 4 small scoops seems a bit strange since it seems like youd get more of a scoop getting a single cone. Out of the four I enjoyed the red skies at night (not entirely sure I was given the right one because the purple ice cream was throwing me off from the actual title) and mint chocolate chip. I wouldnt say this place is mind blowing or anything, but theyre alright. If you havent tried this place out yet Id try it at least once 😉Also, I do appreciate their dairy free options - most options Ive seen among other ice cream shops Ive been to.

Weve heard that Handels is the place to go for outstanding ice cream and service, so we visited for ourselves last night. We were welcomed with smiles, great customer service, and delicious ice cream (my husband went back for seconds 😋).

Red skies at night and chocolate cake batter. Definitely drool worthy. Imho- better than the drive to Portland to stand in line for the novelty stuff. Obviously different vibe, but the taste here is incredible!

I wish I wouldve gotten the straight ice cream cause it was probably better, but the milkshake was mehkay. I see now that some other reviews were saying that some flavors were a touch thin, and it really made my milkshake just seem more like really expensive flavored milk. I bet the ice cream is really solid on its own but milkshake lovers beware!

I love how Google pings me, How was Handels ice cream? For real. It was divine, delicious, Im on a diet and Handels is my weekly cheat. Seriously, go get some. The line was out the door when we went. One scoop is like 2.5 scoops anywhere else you go. Be prepared to enjoy and be wowed. Omg their waffle cones. Why are you reading this!!! GO NOW!

I love ice cream, it however does not love me so Im limited to non-dairy. Their non-dairy offerings are limited to 1 or 2 flavors which dont really get your mouth watering and actually taste quite nasty, just sweet no real flavor. Steer clear of the watermelon ice, it is utterly disgusting and should be removed for ever.Salt and Spoon in Lake Oswego is MUCH better with way more diversity in non-dairy offerings and flavors which make your taste buds sing.

Whoever gives this place less than 5 stars should go to jail. This is seriously THE BEST ice cream in the Portland area, hands down. The perfect balance between hard and soft serve, with tons of amazing flavors and a very friendly staff. The prices are higher, but you get what you pay for that’s for sure. This place is a must when visiting Sherwood or any of the surrounding areas! Here’s a pic of my coconut cream pie double scoop cone. Sweet mercy, it was delicious.

Best ice cream weve ever had, no joke. We cant stay away. All the flavors are amazing but the Graham Central Station is especially unique and delicious and I cant wait until the German Chocolate Cake is back in the flavor rotation.

The only place we could find that makes a banana split! The ice cream tastes great, but compared to 50 licks (custard), the mouthfeel is a littly gritty from ice crystals.

Oh my gosh for a corporate chain this is the best Ive ever had... competes quality and flavor wise with the fanciest of mom and pop shops. I enjoy their flight the most. Four scoops in a tray perfect amount of ice cream. Scoops are smaller on a flight than their huge generous singles groups are... single scoops are like two and a half scoops.

Absolutely delicious! My neighbor brought me here on a whim tonight - Id never heard of it before but absolutely delicious and surprised to see its National Geographics #1 Top ice cream! Homemade in house. Sooooo good, and large portions for cheaper than most quality chains.I didnt know it existed and now Im sad to say Im moving away before I could try more.

Tons of amazing choices of ice cream. Its all made in house and probably the best ice cream Ive ever had. The staff was very nice and worked quick to get through the line and maintained the same professional and pleasant attitude.

My family loves this place, and we usually frequent handles about once a week. Employees are super sweet teenagers for the most part, and always willing to let you try the flavors until you find the perfect one.My only suggestion to the business: I would highly recommend making sure there is always music playing! It creates a more comfortable setting, and fits the vibe! And please bring back the banana brownie flavor!!!Best ice cream in the suburbs!

Easily the best ice cream Ive ever had, though partly I think its due to the temp they keep it at - its very rich and creamy. When taking a pint home and freezing, it loses a bit of that magical texture but its still delicious. Definitely pricey but worth it IMO. Excellent selection of flavors too, ranging from classic favorites to a rotating list of more experimental tastes. They have a party room as well, though we havent had a party there ourselves.

Good, but they took away the lemon bar. 😔. That is a shame!!! Guess it will save me some money and inches on the waste line as that was my addiction.Staff is always very professional!

I LOVE this place. There is a ton of options, literally for any dietary need. Anywhere from vegan ice cream to gluten free ice cream. And it all tasted amazing.the place is always full and feels welcoming. There is a very wide and amazing variety of ice cream flavors here, and all of them are truly amazing. The best part is that most if not all of their ice cream contains local ingredients which is always a plus. Truly recommend this place. The ice cream price is always very reasonable. And the serving sizes are very fair for the price.

Came here for the customer appreciation dollar cone special. Had the Graham Central Station flavor and it was pretty good... graham cracker flavored ice cream with light chunks of chocolate crunches. They definitely stuffed the sugar cone full of ice cream and piled a surprisingly generous mound of ice cream on top. Great flavors and texture. Will come back again.

WHAT A GEM THIS PLACE IS! Handels was a delightful and friendly place to be. An incredible amount of flavors draw you and you are greeted by smiley faces and the owner happened to be in as well. He introduced the not so obvious flavors such as blue monster and Elvis and let us take our time choosing. Id highly recommend the salty caramel truffle. Not a drop left in my bowl 😁

Great selection of flavors! Huge scoops! The blue monster was delicious. It seemed super clean in there too.My only observation for possible improvements was that the interior design of the store was...off. The walls were too bare, the lights were too bright and the material they chose for surfaces looked cheap rather than classic ice cream shop. It felt big and empty and somewhat unsettling and not very welcoming. So in 10-15 years when they remodel, hopefully they have a designer that understands how to make a shop welcoming.

If you havent been here yet, what are you waiting for?! You are missing out! This place has DELICIOUS ice cream. Its made fresh everyday. There is an excellent selection and then they have monthly specials. You can sample flavors to make sure you like one before ordering it. The single is actually three scoops! They also have Frosty Paws that are made by Purina specifically for dogs (only $1). Staff is always nice, friendly, and helpful. They know their stuff! You ask them what any flavor is and they tell you from memory. Cant say enough great things about it. BTW snickerdoodle is my personal favorite.

The ice cream is very good but in truth you can get the same quality at other gourmet shops. They sell hand packed cartons to take home. That is different and quaint but does slow things down. We were not there at a particularly busy time but the line went quite slowly. They had a good selection of flavors some of which were new to me. I thought their selection of dishes (ordering options) was above average.

The pumpkin ice cream was delicious.I would like to see the atmosphere toned down from all the white sterile look.It would be more inviting and comforting if it wasnt so sterile.
