Coming back to deliver my tractor tomorrow - I assume everything is good there as it was just a small issue covered under warranty. As far as service and willingness to help me get my issue handled they were all exceptional. Made sure to get everything they could covered under warranty and saved me on costs that other places told me I’d have to cover. Prompt and friendly, and the pickup guy was awesome he explained everything to me and even went back over the tractor.

Love my mower. I was using a craftsman that I bought from a different store. It was okay, but I wanted to upgrade to something with a little more power and cutting size. I read lots of reviews and decided on a Deere. After visiting several places, I stopped by Shorewood. They were really helpful and helped me pick the right model. Ive had my Deere for 3 seasons and its performed really well. Ive managed to cut my mowing time by 30 minutes.

Every time I visit, the guys at the counter do the bare minimum at helping me. No one ever comes out on the floor to offer assistance. Any time I have an issue with my Polaris Sportsman, I cant get straight answers on possible problems or solutions. I only go there because its the only place nearby to buy Polaris brand fluids and filters other than ordering online. I try to support local businesses, but it looks like Amazon will beat them out next time.

My familys been going there for years. They run this business like everyone is family; its how we feel every time were there. Shorewood home and auto is a great place to purchase equipment. I have been buying equipment from Kale since 2009. Year after year I have had excellent service. Kale goes out of his way every time I call him, from new equipment, to servicing equipment he takes care of it all. He has even gone so far to send one of their service drives to deliver part to my shop when we cannot get out to pick up the parts so that our machines have minimal downtime. If you are looking are looking at outdoor power equipment, this is the place to go.

Ive had my mower into them since AHW closed in Morris. Everytime they act like they are doing me a favor. $90 to pick up and return. They wont wait to pick up either. Sometimes its in there for 4 weeks after pick up while my grass grows and grows.Had a list of issues. One time they took my blades off and replaced them because they were the wrong size but my blades had been working fine and the engine was what needed TLC. I couldnt believe they fixed something which worked and which I didnt need.Asked them to replace my seat as mice got in it over the winter. Then the cost all of a sudden was way higher than original quote and I didnt have the funds. So I got my seat back in pieces and I havent been able to put it back together. I let my family know if I fall off while using it who to sue.I called 2 weeks ago to get service and no reply. I dont remember names well but I can tell you Carol is the service ladys name. And service is not what you get here.I read the reviews and feel glad its not me, I felt like maybe I had somehow offended them and thats why they were being snotty.So your act of no service to my call was actually the best thing youve done for me, SH&A. I found another place and when I told them Id been using you we shared a knowing moment. Oh and to the owner: just replying y to your positive reviews really is telling about the quality of your customer service.

I have to admit, I hadnt been here in a few years. But my last experience was very disappointing.I had bought a Honda push mower from them in mid fall, a few years back. Sure, the Honda push mower are expensive...bit they cut so nice.So about 5 weeks go by and I get a recall on the mower, to replace one of the components. No big deal I thought, Ill bring the mower in for the recall and get the first oil change.Now mind you, this mower was bought new and not even used two and a half months yet. I pick the mower up, the recall work is done. The oil was also changed and they rebuilt the carburetor! When I told them the mower was bought new from them a few weeks ago they stated the carburetor needed to be rebuiltI stated Im not paying for that work, which then they werent going to get the mower for me. I ended up paying for parts and they paid for labor.I understand that they have a good parts department and you have to use them from time to time. But I wouldnt trust them at all. Youve got other great places to buy equipment from to waste your time/money here

If I I could. They would get 10 stars. Recently purchased a riding mower. The salesman Drew was very knowledgeable and helpful. Why would anyone go to a big box store when you can receive personal service from an actual dealer for the same price. It was delivered by a professional technician. The mower was properly serviced and ready to mow when it arrived. This place is awesome!

Horrible business. I went in on a Saturday to look at a snowmobile they had on the floor. I ended up working out a deal with John the salesman at Crete. They marked the snowmobile sold, and I left a $5k deposit. They gave me a receipt and said theyd call the following week when ready for pick up. I received a call on Monday saying they priced me the wrong sled. If I still wanted it I would have to come up with an additional $900. So I called the manager to discuss the situation and his reply was, this isnt right but theres nothing we can do. I gave them every opportunity to make it right and they did nothing. I didnt even receive a phone call from the salesman saying he was sorry. Very frustrating but in the long run Ill be glad I didnt do business there.

To find a place for genuine Deere parts, you need to go to a Deere authorized service center. Weve owned Deere products for 15 years (lawn tractor, multistage thrower, etc). SH&A provides the service and parts we need to keep this thing running for as long as it has. Were satisfied. The service from parts has always been helpful and friendly.

I always come back here for service. I was promised a 3 day turnaround on my riding mower and they always deliver, even if they are really busy. They make sure everything is tight and in top notch condition. Check out other reviews on Google they have a good reputation.

I love this place, they are a specialty store for Outdoor equipment I own a fence company and have bought chainsaws and have needed them serviced and chains sharpened on a regular basis. I have found great service and great advise and wisdom from what I would expect from such a place. I went on line to write a positive review and was irritated to see the last review was so poor from a person who clearly does not understand what a specialty store is all about. I mean no disrespect as Im sure we are all entitled to our opinion. That being said, my opinion is simply this, I have been to this store probably 20 times in the last 5 years or so and have been taken care of all 20 times with both courtesy and timely service, I love the big boy toys they have and would certainly feel confident to make a large purchase on any of their equipment. I base this on my own track record over the last 5 years. I usually shop at the big blue and big orange stores, but sometimes they dont have what I need. Instead of shopping online, I stopped by Shorewood. Not only did they have my belt, but it was cheaper than anywhere else. Great selection!!!

I needed parts and hydraulic fluid for a Cub Cadet garden tractor. The gentleman at the Parts Counter DID NOT try to sell me on what they had. He knew the importance of using the reguired hydraulic fluid as well as I did. Very Helpful and knew where I needed to go for what I needed.On top of it I walked in the door before they were technically open, and still greeted with a smile...As far as other reviews about price and product availability... When you go to a specialty store as such; the miscellaneous items stocked are for and out of convenience (Typically used in and by their Service Dept).Great Customer Service & Knowledge of Equipment

We are a commercial landscaping company. The parts department has always given excellent, friendly service and when parts have to be ordered, they arrive quickly and I receive a call the day the parts arrive.As far as the service department goes, I assume that many of the reviewers have no idea how backed up the majority of them are. A week or two waiting time is normal, depending on the time of season, and parts needed; spring is typically a longer wait. Other companies service departments have about the same wait time. I have never had to return any equipment because it wasnt repaired correctly the first time.The review regarding the women that handles service not being friendly....I have never had any issues and find her friendly. Sometimes when customers come in with an attitude, you may receive the same attitude in return. Trying being a little nicer and understand there are backups in repairs...it is not her fault!

We bought our John Deere lawn tractor here, the sale and delivery went well. 2 years later we had them pick it up for service and it went equally smoothly. After they had the tractor for a week we They had it all fixed up.

Terrible customer experience. Dropped off snow blower that I knew needed substantial repair. Basically was told we will get to it eventually. Received call with estimate and I decided not to move forward. After they took over a month to look at it, I got persistent calls to pick it up. Picked up snowblower and it wasnt even put back together. Half taken apart and zip-lock bag of parts attached taped to it. Talked to mgr about horrible customer service, and he didnt seem to care, he DID offer to put it back together, but didnt really seem to care about the bad customer service. You are a fool if you spend any money here.

Fantastic service all around. I bought 2 snowmobiles last year (Crete location) and have gone back for oil, gear and odds and ends. My family has bought multiple mowers and snowy growers as well. Kaj Moyer is great to do business with and is willing to help find the right item every time I visit. I recommend to everyone.

I brought my John Deere tractor here for service 3 times after getting fed up with Kipps. I live in Lisle and am sad that I need to go all the way to Shorewood, but they are worth the drive. I have been pleased with the service, the time taken for the repairs. They stand behind their work.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST. Cost you more to fix a tractor here then buy a new one. In 2014 brought in a John Deere tractor and they said they could fix a drive shaft and a very slow oil leak. I was given a quote of $500- $600 dollars. They said they could fix it. When I go to pick it up the bill is over $900 dollars. I get it back and find it is leaking more then when I started. So I brought it back. They look at it for awhile and say it was leaking like that before. Then they said they couldnt fix it. I asked management/owner if they would give me some discount and I will take it elsewhere. They said no wouldnt even think about it. Yea and made it worse. Come to find out later when I was using it - they also did something to the rear differential and the gears were now slipping - which never happened until they worked on it. Thank for changing me 900 to break my tractor This PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN - DONT TRUST THEM - I would driver an hour away before going here. Ownership is bad and mechanic I worked with.

Shorewood Home and Auto sold me a defective Toro 30 and would not refund or exchange. This is a $1000 mower. I spent about $7-8K at this place over the last few years. Brought brand new mower in for repair 2X within the first 5 weeks of owning it. The second time I brought it in I said I wanted a refund or exchange. They said no. I called my CC company and filed a charge back. This is after I returned the mower.First they said that never got the mower back. Then they said that the mower was sold as-is. Then why do I have a receipt for the first WARRANTY REPAIR? SO NOW they denied the charge back AND they have my mower which they are claiming that they do not have. I got charged for equipment I do not have.I bought a brand new STIHL BG50 at the beginning of this year and I called back the following day - it did not work. The guy told me that I could sell it??? or drop it off for repair and wait 2 weeks. They do not stand behind what they sell.This repair dept will rob you. I have picked up equipment that has not been fixed. I have picked up equipment and they add on bogus charges for repairs/maintenance that I never asked for. One time they tried to charge me an additional $60 to grease the axle of a mower when I never asked them to do this.Most of the people that work there are good and helpful but they act like they dont want your business and the management is typically disconnected from the customer. You might as well buy equipment from the cheapest dealer somewhere else because the personal interaction that you get from these people is no different than the generic treatment that you would get at any big box store.

Im asking myself, how is this place even still in business? This store, if you even want to call it that, is a complete joke. Very rude employees this guy has working for him. Many in which do not even want to be bothered helping you find what you are looking for. I was looking for a new head for my weed whacker and one older female employee that works at their main counter snarled at me and pointed to where they were. I thought that was pretty rude. Also, they do not have any tools what so ever and every time Ive been in there, I receive stares and as if they are watching for me not to steal. Really? Very uncomfortable experiences for the few times Ive been. I will be going to The Home Depot from now on.

The service dept is horrible. I had two mower blades sharpened and not only were they unevenly sharpened they had massive a massive burr that i grind-ed down at home. My second experience was having my snow blower serviced. was brought in for gas leaking and rough idle last year. I used it maybe 4 times last year and started it up this year with the exact same issue. $80 pickup/deliver and service again for the same issue ? no thanks i talked to a few other shops and they said it was not properly cleaned or serviced especially since there was absolutely no gas in it all year and garage kept. now im out $120 for service, Go somewhere else for correct service.

I put a Toro Lawnmower in for service and it took them 3 weeks to even check it out. Just to check it and that costed $40. The mower worked well but I incurred more cost with other lawn services while mine was with them for repair. Their phone manner leaves much to be desired and is in need of immediate repair as does my mower. I will make Shorewood Home and Auto my very last option for lawnmower repair going forward.

Their service dept is the worst. My tractor hasnt worked the same since I took it in for a tune up and they deny ANY responsibility. I spoke to my neighbor and he has a similar story. And they were extremely rude when I tried to plead my case. STAY AWAY from these guys at all costs.

Was out of map gas and solder. Rather than driving the extra 4 1/2 miles to menards, I decided to go to Shorewood Home and Auto for the supplies. Had to find the the supplies myself, since the girl at the register was to busy texting and was bothered when I asked her where to find the supplies. After she rang up the map gas and solder, the bill was just over $31.00. I told her I would go to menards instead. The purchase of map gas and solder at menerds was $17.00 plus change. SH&A is a ripoff.

Had my Polaris Trial Blazer in for repair after rebuilding the carb with my son. The piston and other things were damaged. I took it in for an estimate of repairs. They said it needed to have the crank rebuilt, bore cylinders, new seals and rebuilt carb too. I authorized the repairs and I picked it up last February and stored it till this September. I went to run it and it wouldnt stay running. I called them and they offered no assistance. I took it to my sons and he found the card all shelaced up. We also found the bolts to the head were not torgued even close to what they should be. We cleaned the carburator and torqued down the bolts. Now it runs great. I just dont think that I should have had to do anyu of that after spending over $1000 on repairs.I will never use them again and will warn others of their lack of service after the sale.
