Just when I was about to give up on finding a good shop in my area, I found Doc Motorworks on repairpal.com!They did good work on my F150. They use technology in a way that really enhances the experience - not in a way that keeps the customer at arms length. Repairs were completed promptly and correctly, communication was excellent and no surprises on the bill. They wont do anything you havent approved beforehand and they treated me fairly.I will say that theyre pricey but you get what you pay for. Ask for Tracey, hes a great service advisor.

After buying my classic car, my main concern was where I could take it for upgrades and modifications. I checked out numerous auto businesses, when I walked into Docs and talked to the Service Manager, Nicole, and the Mechanic, Jeff, I knew I found the right place. Jeff put my car up on the rack and thoroughly went over everything which was needed to complete my upgrades. Jeff took great care in his work and kept me informed along the way. The whole experience was professional, the work was high quality and the cost was a good value. I will not take my car anywhere else. I highly recommend Doc Motor Works.

The staff is very friendly, explains everything in detail and gives you a report of exactly what was inspected and one. The lobby and waiting room is very clean, decorated nicely and very kid friendly (which is awesome). They were able to get me in same day I called and I was taken care of quickly. I will definitely return for future repairs and recommend them to family and friends!

Scammers, do not come here they charged me 500 dollars for an engine diagnostic and couldnt even tell me what that problem was, then proceeded to tell me I needed a brand new engine and tried charging 10,000 dollars. Very unprofessional would not recommend stay far away from this place all they want is your money!

Found my new go to automotive business. I love my vehicles and I want my mechanic to treat them as such. I had been going to a previous auto shop for over a decade. When I find a place that does good work I like to remain loyal. Things changed overtime in my previous automotive repair shop and it was past time to start looking for another mechanic. Well, I found them. From now on I will be taking all of my vehicles to Doc Motor Works.

Im not sure how this place manages to keep the doors open besides the fancy waiting room. I shoulda walked out the 1st time I walked in the door and saw another customer ripping up there receipt telling them they are thieves. They hiring there mechanics and pay them book hours so there mechanics have no incentive to do the job right, but instead just as fast as they can so they can get paid. I was stuck with them over warranty work and had to take my vehicle back 5-6 times before they told me that they couldnt finish repairs, and that I just needed to take it to the dealership. Another $1,700 dollars to the dealership to finish and fix the mistakes doc motor did. I wouldnt let them work on your car as they are not trustworthy, and the owner Scott will yell at you on the phone when he doesnt want to admit hes wrong.Going to add her since I cant reply to docs reply. But I had to come back only a week later to have the engine harness fixed since the mechanic didnt properly connected and hung up correctly so my truck would randomly shut off while driving, and the main harness was just laying across moving parts such as control arms and other areas where it could easily be damaged or burned. 2nd one of the alternators connectors was damaged during install so it had to be completely replaced. 3rd I had to have the side of my truck repainted since they scratched it in there shop. 4th time was my truck wasnt running correctly, but was told it was fine. 5th time they recognized there was an issue with a fuel injector so it was replaced. 6th time truck still wasnt running right, and by then I was begging the insurance company to let me take it to a real shop but still had to go back to doc 1 more time just so they could tell me sorry we are not a diesel shop. Also it hasnt been a year since my truck was finished, I was supposed to have a 1 year warranty, and now my motor has coolant in the oil.ALSO A 2017 CHEVY SILVERADO 3500 DOES NOT, AND I REPEAT DOES NOT HAVE A V-10 DIESEL, NOR HAVE I EVER EVEN HEARD OF CHEVY PRODUCING SUCH AN ENGINE. IT IS A 8 CYLINDER 6.6 LITER DURAMAX DIESEL.

Ive been coming here for my regular maintenance and any issues with my truck. They do the job right and have amazing customer service. They also do a follow up to make sure things are running smoothly. They dont pressure you or try to up sell you. I recommend Doc Motor Works.

I approved an axel replacement for $700 (and change). Docs Motor Works ordered the part and about 5 days later I dropped off my van for repair. That day, DMW called me to say the axel had 2 parts and only 1 part of the new axel was received so pick up time pushed back 1 day. No problem. Repair happens. I show up to pay and now the bill is $1010.00!They said the 2nd part of the axel had a cost but failed to notify me prior to completing the repair. The office manager was out. They appeared to be training a new employee...it was chaotic! I pay the $1010 with the understanding that someone needs to call me about the overbilling. Several phone messages left but no call back yet and this was over a month ago. I get angry all over again every time I drive by thier facilty so Ill be contacting Discover this week. My van runs fine. DMW deserves to be paid for thier work but price changes have to be promptly communicated and $300 is well over the 10% gap on quotes. Im also not a fan of my cars details going to Carfax.com. I was hoping to find a trust worthy mechanic near my home but I just dont know if DMW is it.

I was encouraged by a relative to try Doc Motor Works to patronize additional local small businesses. I had also received a coupon postcard in the mail from them, which was nice. I was out today and stopped there to ask to make an appointment to have my vehicle looked at. The lady behind the counter was not eager for business whatsoever. She was not unfriendly, just slightly curt in her answers. Very little explanation as to how the process works, whether or not the diagnostic fee was taken off if the repairs were completed there (one of my questions). I still don’t know the answer to that. After a couple futile attempts, I decided it was too difficult trying to pull information from her, and I will return to my usual local repair shop. I did try..... unimpressed.

They Said my van would be done on Friday. Showed up on Tuesday to find out its not done . waited for three hours before they offered me a rental for the day. I Get a text saying its done so I Come back on Wednesday and find out they left my van outside all night unlocked (this is a work van with thousands of dollars of parts in it). When I mentioned this to the guy at the counter he just looked and me and said nothing. Worst service Ive ever had and will not recommend any service from these people.

Most recent experience...brought my van in for a “knocking” noise coming from the front wheels. Long story short,...they just had to tighten a sway bar nut. I was more than willing to pay for their time, diagnosis and service. When I picked up my car, FREE of charge. This is the type of auto repair place you want as your ONLY go to place for all your auto repair/maintenance needs. Support your local businesses.

I would recommend. Reasonably priced. They are quick about it and if it does take longer they are next to a rental car place. They used this new system that texted me what work needed to be done and how much it was. I could select what work I wanted done and send back to them. It was really nice bc you could see the final price. Loved that. They call to confirm that is what you wanted and the owner texted a couple days after to make sure that everything was complete and working still. Love that follow up. The staff is nice and place is easy to get to.

My first time coming to this place and its right in front of my house. When I say these guys are processional, they are legit!!! OMAR at the front desk was amazing and such good company while I waited to get my car serviced, He sat down with me and properly explained everything to me in detail what was wrong with my car and told me exactly what I needed to get fixed the next time I came back. I also thought it was really cool how they send you pictures and email of your diagnostic with pricing.

I have always had the best service form Doc Motor Works.We have been taking all our Autos to Doc Motor Works. We always get the best service. They are always up front with what the cost will be. they also let you know what needs to be done immediately or if you can wait. With 2 older cars it is so comforting taking my cars to someone that I can trust. I know they treat my car as if I am family. All the staff is professional and treat you with a smile. Best place in will county to get your car repaired. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The place is super clean. You will feel like you are at a new car dealership service facility without the high prices and long waits. Their communication is amazing you always know what is going on with your car or truck. They will even text you pictures of the repairs so you see what they are recommending you repair. They do not overcharge or recommend things that dont need to be done.

I own a 2009 Prius and was due for some serious maintenance. I had a mailer from them and decided to try them out. Outstanding work, attention to detail and communication. Prices are very competitive and they take Covid seriously, the lobby is clean and care about their customers. Very impressed and will be using them for all our vehicles from now on.

A repair out of their league. Less than welcome persona.Original Service Date 1/27/2017 returned for same dash lights 3/21/17They were not the least expensive but I thought I would give them a try due to the reviews. My Mistake.While performing repairs to my vehicle they accidently tore a hole in the exhaust pipe while attempting to remove the oxygen sensor. Instead of admitting this was caused by a mistake they took the position to charge me $163.75 for the repair.I investigated the situation and recognized the fact that it was caused in error by them and explained what they did to cause it. Throughout they displayed an overweening position but, after much discussion they conceded and agreed to splitting those costs they deemed appropriate. My portion was $81.75 for their mistake plus parts. Since the repair was only costing them in-house labor they still made money and I lost money $113.12 to be exact.If this is not enough a couple of months later the same lights came on the dash. On 3/21/17 I returned to them believing they would at least diagnose the situation. I called the day before hoping maybe they would take a quick look same day and was told I had to make an appointment and did for 8am on 3/21/17.When I arrived I was the first customer but told they would not get to me for a while and I can wait or choose to come back. I found this to be unprofessional. I chose to take my vehicle home to remove a few items and came back 30 minutes later. When I returned I told them I was under the impression that when an appointment was made it was typically within a few minutes the vehicle was seen and was wondering why I was told it would take a while to get it in. The response was made up of self serving assumptions, inaccurate quotes, and made up rhetoric, while defending a lame position.I left my vehicle there only to get a call latter saying they could not be for sure what the problem was without spending more time and that time would have to be paid for by me. They believed it was a brake vacuum booster that would cost $1120 plus the diagnostic fee and another fee coming to $174.92 Grand total if this was the issue $1294.92Their position is that they charge the customer a diagnostic fee under the assumption that they are not at fault. (Their words) They wanted $174.92 just to see if it was their fault. They said they would make the repair and wave the charge if it was determined by them that the issue was related to their previous work on the vehicle.To top it all off, when I decided I would not have them perform the work and went to pick the car up they asked me sign a zero dollars invoice. I questioned signing it because the first clause indicated they would have the right to text me via automated technology and I did not want that and It was for zero dollars so why sign. Ray instantly displayed a face of disgust huffing said, fine don’t sign.I expect some lame attempt to excuse this all away somehow with false quotes and made up talk about how great they are how honest and how they bent over backwards for me somehow. In truth I think my vehicle presented them with a repair that was out of their league and their arrogance led them to frustration and unprofessional behavior.I will not be coming back . I am not usually the one to write any reviews but I was compelled to write this one.

If all you need is just regular maintenance avoid this place at all costs. All I needed was oil change and transmission flush, and the car had to leave this shop on a tow truck just to be taken to a different shop. I pulled in needing no major repair, vehicle in drivable conditions, no noise whatsoever and left needing to. replace power steering line. An hour after dropping off the vehicle, I get a call from Henry saying that transmission flush on my particular vehicle is not required since its lifetime- grade when thats not the case, Why not just say that you do not have the knowledge and expertise to do such job?. He also told me that there was a leak in the power steering line which was a totally new issue and even if there was a leak it had to be minor no trace of power steering fluid in the garage floor and when they pull up the car for pick up it was making a significantly loud grinding noise as I turned the steering wheel. How do you lose 1qt of fluid when the car is just parked at the shop not driving nor exerting pressure through the power steering line. Not only did the car not get the required maintenance care, now I have to pay another shop to get if fixed. And just as an additional bonus, they stained the A pillar with grease as they played the sticker for the next recommend oil change. Not to mention that they 4 hours.

I have had nothing but a positive experience being serviced by Doc Motor Works and their team. They provide consistent, honest work, time after time. They are a great business willing to work with people to ensure safety and peace of mind when you drive off their lot. I will not use anyone else to service my car, as they have earned a customer for life with me.

They did GREAT. Scott, the owner, gave me a ride home when I dropped off my car. Full synthetic oil change and bow to stern inspection for $49.95 plus tax. Half of what Jiffy Lube wanted. My car and I are ready to be road warriors again. Im a traveling Quality Engineer so I log LOTS of miles helping companies all over the U.S. solve their quality issues. First time here and will be back time and time again !!

I called this morning in hopes to get in same day. Scott answered the phone and gave me 2 time slots to choose from. I gave him the specifics on what my car needed and he accommodated perfectly. I was able to drop the car off and walk over to a local restaurant while I waited for the car to be finished. The car was pulling up from the shop as my son and I were walking back. I would 100% recommend this place for its customer service from the phone call to the pick up, from the drop off to the pick up being so punctual. Thank you so much!!!

Amazing place with amazing people! Their quality of work is astonishing! Caring about the customer really makes all the difference in my eyes especially when so many other businesses just try to ring you for cash. Had my brakes done there quite some time ago. The experience was fine. Just got a price on a timing belt and it was $4.00 less than the dealer. Thats Four dollars! Independent mechanics should not be charging the same price point as a dealer. The texting program you use was irritating as well. Just an FYI. I cant pay dealer prices to an independent. Sorry.

I had a recent experience with Doc Motor works, and it was great. They took care of my car, and did it quickly. They were able to work with my insurance company to get several other things fixed in the process. What I liked most was, their attention to detail. When I called to check on my vehicle, they were prepared to answer. They had already set up contact with my insurance company, without my input. I would recommend them to all of my friends. My insurance had me towed to this auto repair shop and have had nothing but a bad experience. I called to find out my diagnostic and was informed that they already changed my battery without my permission, then they informed me that the price would be $300 less than what they told me later that day for the exact issue. I decided to get my car towed somewhere else and asked for the copy of my recept and diagnostic to be left in my car and it was not so I called for a copy to be emailed and the diagnostic was only 6% completed until I called back and asked for it to be fully completed since I did pay for one. Overall had a poor experience with this company and was overcharged for the service.

Im new to the area and had an issue with a car not starting last month. I was at the mercy of google reviews, and so glad that I found Docs through them! As it turned out, it needed a new battery, but I wanted to get it checked in case something else was up. Docs provided excellent service in every way! My husband and I have had Doc Motors work on our cars for about a year. I am overwhelmingly grateful to the point of tears. My 16yo daughter was driving on a back road with my other 5 kids in the car, but I was too nervous to let her continue driving because of the wind. So, I decided to have her pull over so I could drive. As we were switching, she opened the driver side door and the wind took the door. I was recasted because I hadn’t yet realized that the door was broken. After 15 min of us trying to fix the door, to no avail, I ended up calling Doc Motors for help. Within 10 min, the owner walks up to my vehicle. I was so thankful because he was calm, and was able to rig the door closed. We then followed him back to Doc Motors, where he, along with assistance from Caliber Collision, fixed our door for FREE. Y’all I couldn’t stop thanking God!

Took my car in for repair today and Im extremely satisfied AGAIN! I highly recommend this shop! Scott and Ray are honest, have fair pricing, and the work this shop does is high quality and dependable! Ive had my car 14 years and it was near death and in need of major repairs a while back. The only reason I didnt throw in the towel and spend thousands on a new car was because of the straight forward advise I received from these guys, and the quality work that was done on my car to keep it alive. Scott got to the bottom of the real issue and ended up saving me so much money. Im so thankful and I just cant say enough about how happy I am that my car rides so smoothly because of him. This is now the only place I take my car for maintenance and repairs. THE most trustworthy mechanic Ive ever had work on any car...Hands down!

Just moved to the area and I’m glad I found this shop for the maintenance on our car! Staff was very friendly and the service provided was done quickly and at a great price. I like how they are up on their tech such as sending you emails about work done, and also email recommendations on upcoming preventative maintenance. Will definitely be coming back next time it’s needed!

I have had a lot of work done lately on my car, and I cant compliment the staff enough. They take the time to explain everything that needs to be done, how it will be done, and how much it will cost BEFORE they start. They never talk down to you and never seem impatient with my zillion questions. Just great people to work with.

Most ethical and reasonably priced shop I have ever been to. Upfront, competitive prices, guaranteed work, and excellent results. I couldnt be happier and would not take my car anywhere else for important work needing done. Scott is a great guy and I trust him with my cars.

Ive taken my 2000 Toyota Camry here for service and my experience was excellent. These guys are knowledgeable, friendly and most important HONEST. Also, I called for a quote on a different car and even though I didnt get the work done there, they gave me an honest opinion of what the dealership quoted me. I would not hesitate bringing my car here. Highly recommended!

Brought my car in today after hearing a noise with the brakes. This is after having my 2016 Camry serviced by St. Charles Toyota. A week after getting my car serviced from St Charles Toyota I started hearing a noise with the brakes. I called Toyota and they told me everything was fine with my brakes. As a matter of fact they told me i had 70 percent left on my pads. When my car was inspected by Docs they found my rear brake was almost metal to metal. The brake caliper was sticking. They were able to take service my car immediately. I will never go back to St. Charles Toyota again. Doc Motor Works will now be my go to guy from now on.

Work has always been excellent and timely. Cost has been equal or less than that of competitors, but you cant beat the quality of the product youre paying for!Ill definitely keep coming back.

5 stars is not enough. Should be more like 10! I took my car over the summer to Doc Motor Works for a Single Mom Saturday Event headed up by WBGL. I was impressed and went back for a winter check up and Scott found my water pump cracked and my rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. I have had an annoying clicking noise and for louder for over a year now and 2 other mechanics could not figure it out. As from what I understand my car took longer than expected and Scott personally stayed late to finish. I havent driven far yet but I couldnt believe that when I pulled in my garage tonight the noise was completely gone. Omg. So happy and touched. Nicki as well as the other young woman I didnt get her name and Josh who had to bring me home, THANK YOU

Highly recommended! Never used a mechanic except for trans issues. Im a diesel mechanic so i was cautious. I dont trust others work if Im not there. Ive used these guys 3 times since and was pleased with the work and price. They send pictures of what needs fixin. So did I and they didnt know I work on trucks. Yes, I tested them to see how honest they are. My kids managed to down 3 cars in a week, I needed help.

They made everything a hassle and sent a guy to check out my car. The guy was fantastic but they gave me a price for my part and installation. But when I said I needed to look at other options. They said, oh well there is a service fee we didnt mention. It was decent before I got charged for something they didnt tell me about. Also the owner said hed charge me $50, but ended up charging me $65. I do not feel like dealing with the confusion or the sarcasm made by the owner. I went to Doc Motor Works after my vehicle failed emissions testing. Turns out that my catalytic converter had failed.I was able to get in within 2 days of calling. I utilized their courier service after I dropped off my car on the appointment morning. I was called by noon to let me know that after testing and checking for other reasons I would get that particular error, I did in fact need the converter replaced, as well as an O2 sensor. I was quoted a price, which was well with the research I had done for this repair. My car was finished before they closed for the day, and tey came and picked me up so I could retrieve my car.When I checked out, I had details on the other repairs that were needed for my car, as well as pictures to show me what they were talking about. While a time frame was stressed on the repairs, at no time did I feel like I was being pushed into repairs that I did not need nor want. I will be going back to have these done.In all, it was a great experience getting my car fixed and I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Doc Motor Works cares for my familys 2000 Honda Odyssey (251,000 miles) and 2008 Honda CRV (134,000 miles). Soon to join the ranks is our 2014 Honda Odyssey as the old Odyssey was recently passed down to my son.We drive them til they drop! While Hondas are known for their durability, a great deal of the credit goes to the quality care we receive from Doc Motor Works. They have performed complex repairs such as timing belts, oil leaks, electrical and sliding power door issues to all of the basics like brakes, tires, emission testing and even dashboard light bulbs. All of the repairs are explained to me clearly with cost estimates. The quality of the repairs is first rate.They have a great preventative repair program that will let you know what you need to fix immediately and what can be fixed a later date. Its great for budgeting purposes.The team Doc Motor Works will take the time to listen and understand the difficulties that you are having with your vehicle and do the job right the first time. I recommend them highly!

This shop is a rip off! They diagnosed my car, then tried to charge me $165 For diagnosis. Then proceeds to tell me it’ll be at least 2 hours of labor @ $125/hr to figure out if that’s what the problem really is....took it to Merlin and they fixed it for $109. Thank you very little Doc Motors

I usually don’t bother leaving reviews but the owner went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I had an unusual circumstance with my car and they took care of me like no one has ever taken care of me and I’ve had cars for over 50 years

This has allowed me to upgrade to a 05 Acura TL, which they thoroughly inspected before purchasing and will be servicing for the next 100k miles.Honest, trustworthy, caring and talented is best way to describe these gents.Highly recommend Doc Motor Works for all your auto repair needs.

11/21/2016Rebuttal to Response from the Owner:First and Foremost, Doc Motors was closed on Sunday and there was no way for me to reach out to you to express my disappointment and findings. Second, the problem needed to be rectified as soon as possible to prevent damage to the transmission so time was of the essence to getting this repaired. Leakage was sufficient on Sunday morning to cause concern.I agree with you that it is a shame. It’s a shame that Doc Motors did not do its due diligence the first time around in diagnosing the leakage to its full extent. Based on what the Pep Boy Technician showed me, it was very apparent and obvious where the leak was coming from. With a flash light, one can see that the transmission pan gasket was worn down whereby Trans fluid was oozing out. The over filled as your shop claimed was the problem was a complete falsehood. I even question the diagnosis when I was of informed that it was the cause of the leakage, but since I am not a mechanic I had no grounds to challenge the findings but was skeptical.I have no problem paying for a service which in this case was a diagnostic fee for inspection plus time to resolve the leakage. I have a problem when I paid for a service and the problem was never resolved. The bottom line is that I had to incur additional cost, time, and frustration because Doc Motors did not diagnosis the problem correctly to resolve it correctly the first time around.For the reasons mention above, I have requested a refund which I believe is just and reasonable given the facts and chain of events. In my opinion this is the best option to rectify the problem, however, I would like to hear the “options” from the owner to make this right.On a positive note, the problem has been resolved --- the gasket was replaced on the transmission pan thus no further leakage. How do I know---because I have driven it all day today up to my point of destination which is Columbus Ohio for the Thanksgiving holiday and there is no leakage whatsoever!Lastly, Scott the owner has not reached out to me whatsoever. I have no record of any voicemails or emails.Date of service : 11/18/2016My experience with Doc Motors has been a negative and deceptive experience. Nowadays it’s very difficult to find a reputable mechanic and unfortunately that is still the case. Doc Motors did not resolve the problem and I incurred a cost for nothing.Problem:I noticed during the week that my vehicle was leaking reddish /pinkish fluid from underneath the front of my SUV and needed to find a local mechanic asp to resolve the problem. I decided to try Doc Motors because they had positive reviews and those reviews are a total lie based on my experience.Diagnosis:Transmission fluid was “supposedly” over full and needed to be corrected. Tech suspecting that when the transmission gets hot fluid starting coming out the dipstick tube.Outcome:I picked up my SUV and I drove it over the weekend and the SUV was still leaking transmission fluid. I took my truck to the Peps boys and they stated to me that the Transmission gasket needed to be replaced as the rubber seal had worn down causing transmission to leak.Given the severity of the problem and having it develop into a bigger problem, it needed to be fixed asap causing me to incurred additional expenses due to Doc Motor Works not doing a thorough inspection of the problem.Final thoughts:Doc Motors did not do a thorough inspection and worst of all they charged me $100.00 for nothing as the problem was not resolved. I will not recommend this shop to anyone. At a minimum the shop needs to refund me my money. This Shop supposedly prides itself to being a good shop and providing excellent customer service; let’s see how they will make this problem right! I have reached out to them and provided my feedback and i have yet to hear from them.
