After first service on my brand new bike 16 bolt r spec... the oil light lit up once on same day I ride it home, it turn off itself as I pulled over.... few days later I took it out for another ride. .. same thing happens but light turn off itself as I pull over again...then happens few more times and off itself. I paid over $100 for the oil change and they didnt even do it right. I suspect they didnt put in the correct oil or didnt put in enough oil. .. π£ my brand new bike .... now the engines probably worn due insufficient oil...The good: I like Jake my sale man made it easy and no forcing me buying B.S. like buying a car. transaction was smooth....Parts guy also really nice to point out compatible accessories. But after I bought it and installed a seat I didnt like it and asked if I can return, he said no because I ridden it around, doesnt matter if the item is like brand newI would buy a bike here again to be fair, they willing to match price ar another dealer i found online (further than where I live). but the service department lost my trust.
I stopped by Performance Cycles to look at a Star Bolt. I talked with Dave in sales for a little while and he answered all of my questions. I got a price for the one I was interested in and thought it was fair. There was no pressure to buy at all and he even told me not to rush on the decision when I asked if it was ok to think about it and talk it over with my dad first. I ended up deciding to buy it. I had some issues with getting a loan, my credit score was good but I didnt have a long enough history for the first bank and the second one said that my score was good but they dont give loans to temps. My dad offered to cosign the first loan and Dave went out of his way to get us approved and to close the deal before my dad went out of town the next day. He told me not to worry that hed hold onto the bike for as long as it took until the deal worked out and was favorable for me. Jennifer in sales also explained a lot about the financing, paperwork and even talked me through how to get insurance.Ive been to several dealers and most either tried to push me to buy something I didnt want or didnt take me serious because Im young. I walked out of one place with cash in hand because one salesman told me if I didnt buy a motorcycle right then. someone else would in a few days. All in all I would definitely recommend taking a ride out there if youre in the market for a motorcycle. Im sure that if I called a bunch of Yamaha dealers all over New England I might have gotten a little better deal but I was extremely pleased with my experience and deal. I will definitely go back when Im in the market for another bike and wont waste my time at another dealership.
Fantastic dealership all around. Their service department is run by Lee and he has been wrenching since at least 1978 when I first met him and he worked on my 1978 XS11. Sales people come and go but Ive purchased 3 new bikes here over the last 20 years and have always been treated with the utmost respect and decency. Over the last 20 years the staff has had very little turnover or change. There is a reason for that. Everyone that works there will treat you with respect, will learn your name and will always try and make your motorcycling experience safe and enjoyable.
As someone that has worked in the automotive space for a number of years I have seen and heard my fair share of horror stories so I do my research and make sure I know what I am getting myself into before I step foot in a dealership. That being said my experience with Performance was excellent. After doing my research on which bike I wanted I reached out and had the pleasure of speaking with Pete. The online advertised price was lower than anywhere else so I was skeptical but Petes over the phone quote was what I ended up paying. Jake also assisted me with finance and paperwork and did a great job securing a low rate for me. I highly recommend this dealership.
I have been a customer of this dealership for many years. My son and daughter both bought bikes from this dealership that I recommended. My whole family has bought motorcycle gear from this dealership also. Keith in the parts department is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to help you get exactly what you want. The service department does quality work and make sure you get your bike in a timely manner. As far as the sales staff and general manager, their whole job is customer service to make sure they get repeat customers and grow their business. The review from a gentleman named John P is unfair. If he acted the same way at Walmart he would get thrown out of there too. I have never had a bad experience at this dealership and have recommended this place to everybody I talk to. Customer service is their number one priority and they rely on repeat customers and recommendations. Keep up the good work Performance Cycles.
Great customer service! I bought a bike from there and couldnt be happier. Great selection and a top notch service department! I will probably buy my next Triumph here!
I bought my Triumph from these guys in 2009 and have been happy with everything and everyone in this dealership since then.I do all the service with them as well as occasional purchase of merchandise. Go there and spend your money with local dealer.
Three times this year I have attempted to get my bike in for service, three times denied. I went twice to try and get a sticker only to rudely be turned away because they were out of stickers this was over a 3 week span. Today just called to get new tires installed and was rejected because I didnt purchase the tires from them, also got quite an attitude on the phone. So if you like your time wasted and enjoy being talked down to its the place for you. I own a 2015 R6 purchased from another dealer whom I had major service issues with and was hoping to make this shop my new go to place since it is in my town. Clearly they are not interested in gaining business.
I had a great experience with my initial 600 mile service. The Staff at Performance Cycles were flexible about allowing me to drop my scooter off the night before the service, performed the service in a timely fashion, and were very pleasant to deal with. Thanks!!!!!
I bought my first motorcycle from Performance a couple weeks ago. I went back to purchase some extras after a few days of riding. And I had the misfortune of actually needing to take my bike in for service due to a rouge screw that ended up in my tire. The original salesman was very professional and listened to all my concerns regarding the purchase of my first bike. The guys that handle extras and service were also very professional and helpful. I honestly do not have anything bad to say about Performance -- these guys are great.
Had a good experience buying a used bike from Pete at Performance Cycles (2009 Ninja 650r). He helped me load the bike into a truck and even called me twice later that week just to make sure I got the bike unloaded safely and that everything was alright. Pleasure doing business with them.
I always research the service department before choosing a dealer. Despite having a dealer closer to home, I chose this one for both my bikes. Bought a KLR 650 and rode it for a couple of years before trading it in for a Ninja 1000. I had great experiences modifying both bikes with crash bars (KLR) and sliders (Ninja) along with other accessories. Maintenance was superb and the technicians helpful in addressing any problems or explaining maintenance needs. Highly recommend!
I have been purchasing and servicing my bikes at Performance Cycle located in Shrewsbury Mass for over 25 years. Philip the owner, Billy in sales, Derrick the manager, and Lee the ace-mechanic, are the very best in the industry. You get integrity thats coupled with knowledge at this place. Dont take the chance going elsewhere...
I bought a 2015 vulcan s from the dealership. Excellent experience.they had the model I wanted, gave me a great price and had it ready right away.. Very professional dealership. I would recommend them to anyone. As far as that bad review with the bent key-get a life. I own a business and deal with this crap constantly. Dont piss on small family run businesses without talking to them first. Bent key??????
I bought a motorcycle through these folks today and it was nearly a perfect experience. It was a bit of a busy day for motorcycle sales in the Northeast, so I had to wait for an hour before I was able to sit down to finalize paperwork - a really small gripe. The salesman and contract person were both genuine, direct and personable. This is in stark contrast to a recent car buying experience on the Automile, so I was prepared for the worst, but left feeling very good about the experience overall. I sometimes feel the need after dealing with prototypical sales people to rush home and take a shower to get whatever that intangible thing is off of me ASAP. Im happy to report after leaving Performance Cycles - absolutely no shower required! Financing was reasonably quick though not instant, but the rate they got me was even better than I had hoped, and in retrospect well worth waiting for. Thanks for making my experience easy and pleasant!
These guys are great, brought in my triumph rocket that needed a front tire to pass the annual inspection, and these guys had me back on the road with a new tire and sticker without an appointment in under an hour !
I have nothing but good things to say here. Parts guys are great and informative, Sales guys are very pleasant and have always had a good experience.
Respectfully I beg to differ on the sales experience with this dealerships ownership. The sales guy, Pete Fenlason, is a decent fellow whos doing his job as instructed by his owner. The ownership on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. Took me 3 trips to the dealership and it wouldve been a 4th one necessary had I purchased the Triumph model they wanted me to purchase. They have a floor full of brand new, left-over models which they dont sell because no one is interested in Triumphs. The model I was interested was sitting there for 3 years! They will low-ball big time on the trade-in, however show no flexibility on their pricing, even withholding from you the full manufacturer rebate (which all other Triumph dealers honor in full). My bike was pristine and their ridiculous excuse for the low trade value was that it will take time to remove the 4 decals I had on the bike. (Which take 5 mins or less to remove by hand and I offered to remove myself). Since I couldnt test drive the new model on the floor, I decided to buy the same model used. However the owner had it for his own personal use and the day I went there was not available. Had to return the next day, only to discuss pricing and then return a third time to test ride the bike. The test ride is done under supervision, as if I was going to steal their precious used Thunderbird and sell it on the black market. (I did fill out a waiver with my a copy of my drivers license, plus I left my own bike behind prior to the test ride). They asked me to bring a bank check for the balance on the new bike BEFORE I even got to test-ride the bike I was buying. My bank instructed me to write the check to myself then endorse over to them if I decide to go ahead with the purchase. The owner made a big fuss over this and did not accept, again as if I was going to steal their bike. He blamed the wife who was doing the accounting for him and that those were her instructions. She was also clueless as to why they only do it one way. The only other acceptable option was for me to bring $6,000 in cash. They only accept $1,000 on credit card (other dealerships do $2,000-2,500). Additionally, they wanted to register the bike themselves, so they can make a measly $99. The dealership where I did end up buying the Thunderbird from had no problem to have my insurance agent handle the registration. I had my agent call them and explain to them what the registration laws are and what my customer rights are. Basically, it was their way or the highway. Did I call the owner names? Sure, of course I did, plenty loud so everyone can hear, because he deserved it 100%!! I dont want other folks to go through the same experience I did. I dont know what his problem is, but Ive never seen the guy smile to his customers or his employees, shake hands, say hello or anything thats customary. Maybe he doesnt like customers with foreign, non-anglo-saxon sounding last names, I dont know. Whatever, his loss, not mine. He keeps mentioning doing business this way for 40 years, thats fine, but today its 2016 and other dealerships treat you as if they want your business and not vice-versa. The competition bends over backwards to win you over, this guy asked me to Get off my property!! when I wasnt playing by HIS rules, because its HIS store and HIS property. I was not buying a one-of-kind antique Triumph or something from him. I was making him a favor, moving his inventory and getting seriously screwed on the trade. The service department was doing OK in terms of traffic, however sales are basically dead. AGAIN UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES I CAN RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP FOR TRIUMPH SALES. PLEASE USE SOMEONE ELSE, unless you bring a bag of cash and you pay the price they want and you register the bike using their RMV service. Dont even dream about getting a fair price, cause it aint happening there.
It is my favorite dealer excellent customer service
They were a great dealer, but they are now out of business.
Good
