Northbound on Great Divide, needed wheels trued and derailleur adjusted. Doug practically rebuilt the wheels, tensioning the spokes, added extra sealant, fixed the frame that was causing derailleur issues, and at a very reasonable price. I was off the next day. They even let me borrow a bike to get around town while I waited.

We love Gila Hike & Bike! Their selection isnt huge but its adequate, and if they dont have what you want they can get it. Their knowledge is impressive, and their care for their customers and products is evident in everything they do. We rented e-Bikes from the store and took them trail riding, and after that ride we knew we had to have some of our own. Martyn and Taylor were awesome helping us make a decision and getting our bikes ordered and delivered to us. Were sure lucky to have these guys and their store in Silver City, New Mexico.

What a great shop. My wife and are working our way across country from New Hampshire, hitting local trails, as we go. Fun. But my rear brake was getting way too spongy for the riding coming up in NM, AZ and Utah. I stopped in late afternoon on a Friday, and even though they were swamped, they got me all fixed up without missing a day in the trails. Very friendly, businesslike, customer oriented shop. Awesome people to deal with. Had to arrange the purchase of 1 and the assembly of 2 bicycles as Christmas gifts for 3 children from my home state of Florida. Top-notch bike shop. I stopped there for some stuff on the way north on the GDMBR. Very helpful folks, gave me good gear tips.The English mechanic fellow also gave me great trail beta for the next 100 miles or so; the mountains were dry as a bone so the water tips really came in handy.

This is a terrific shop. They helped me with my ignorance and DID NOT push to sell me anything. But I said Ill buy the tire pump anyways, and they replied what if the bike doesnt sell? I said I do better when I bundle my sales. Sure enough, the bike was out my door in less than 24 hours. Then again, it is a $1200 trail bike. Sniff, sniff. So long to my dream.

Only place in town that sells isobutane. Grocery stores and gas stations sell the large green propane tank and the big blue box store only sells a large size butane propane mix. Spent 3 days in Silver City this weekend mountain biking. Twisted my derailleur during my first ride on Friday. Went to Gila Hike and Bike to get it fixed. Woman named Erica instantly grabbed my bike and threw it on the mechanic stand! Wow! Excellent mechanic(fixed my derailleur in 5 minutes), shared tons of local bike trails knowledge, AND she is super sexy also! Second day i broke my front shock on my ride. They gave me a great Trek 98 loaner at a discounted rate. Had an epic 3rd day ride on the trails they suggested. Even met one of their other mechanics (Martin)on my ride that last day who gave me more advise. This bike shop is the epitome of knowledge and customer service. All bike shops should strive to be this good. . I will always visit this shop when im in Silver. I can only hope Erica is there next time.😉 haha.Tucson Tom.

These guys were great. They fixed problems that other mechanics had put into my bike. Helped me out a tone. Got me set up with the correct tubes for the desert (and goat heads). Just an over all wonderful experience.And they did it all at the end of the day when I needed to leave town (bike tour).
