I live a bit further down Cochran past Tapo so I had never even noticed that there was anything past that Mexican Restaurant up Tapo St other than tons of Residential. But I’m sooo glad just by chance that I happened to stumble into Mike’s shop there in DIRE need of a HUGE favor to ask of a total stranger.It was late in the afternoon the day before Christmas Eve, which was a Sunday anyways, and I my paycheck had FINALLY came in the mail, almost a week late. So if I didn’t deposit or cash my check ASAP, it would be another 3+ days before I’d be able to. I rushed down to the nearby bank, but it had already closed over 2 hours early than they said. I quickly ran to the check cashing store across the street just to find it empty & locked shut too!!! Anyways, I ran around this 1 mile radius for over an hour trying everywhere but nobody would take this late because all the bank online systems were closed so they couldn’t verify checks.Desperately searching thru Google Maps for another option, I came across Tapo Liquor and got over there fast as I could. Mike was the nicest person id talked to all day and was sooo cool about it, without even being able to verify a single piece of Information about me, my employer, my address or even my name he cashed my check right there on the spot and literally SAVED my Christmas, no Joke!!Now I go there once a week to cash each paycheck and actually feel good about paying the fees for the first time in my life to someone who works so hard and really deserves it.You tha man Mike!! You’ve got a customer and friend for life!!
