My boyfriend and I came in for breakfast at 1:30. The food was pretty good, just the syrup was a bit bland and the French toast was a little off. I had an order of hashbrowns and it was slightly under cooked. My boyfriends fork was very sticky and not cleaned before we got our food, so he got new utensils. Overall, good food and Id love to try their lunch

There was an old guy complaining about to go portions being small and a waitress poured a full bowl of water into the to go bowl. What a better way to show its the same size! Unfortunately this other patron had already decided hed been wronged.Our food was great and our waitress was super friendly, we always appreciate it when waitstaff treat small humans with respect.

Amazing place to eat. Wish this was a nationwide chain. Owners were so friendly and the staff was awesome. Menu was a delight so many delicious dishes to choose from. I wish I lived closer. I will make sure to route trips by this place whenever traveling just to eat here. If you pass this place you have to stop and give it a try.
We always enjoy stopping when we are in the area. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Crystal the waitress is the best oh, very courteous and friendly every time we have been in there. I would highly suggest this place for a good place to eat.
Wonderful find along the road. No institutional cooking here. Home cook recipes to enjoy with all the sides. I had Hungarian Golash soup roast pork with stuff dressing potatoes asparagus salad brownies coffee for two for very reasonable price. Very delicious enjoyable meal with fantastic service. They treat you as a guest. Best meal by far on our long cross country trip starting in Washington State.
Waitress was really nice. Pancakes were decent. Hash browns were THE WORST I’ve ever had. They were so freezer burnt that I took one bite and then wasted the rest. It ruined my whole meal. I told the girl working register and she said they did use frozen hash browns and thanked me for letting her know. Then she just told me to put my card in. I’m pretty annoyed that I had to pay 3.75 for them or whatever and they didn’t offer to take it off my check. I’m not one to leave a bad review or demand refunds, but that left me pretty annoyed.

Ive always enjoyed eating here but today was a different experience. I always order my food in a to go box as I cant eat it all in one sitting, today I heard the waitress and at least two other people in the back complaining about putting it in a box...really yall!!??? Than I heard a couple ladies complaining about a tip the had just received from an elderly man. Come on yall make sure your customers arent within ear shot when you are complaining and discussing your personal life.

This is really the best breakfast in town in my opinion. Between the amazing food and the even better service I never leave unimpressed. Theyre also very clean and so very polite. Always making sure their guests have been helped and they really do aim to please their customers. I highly reccomend Horizon and its always a treat to come here.

Great food (I had the Chicken Friend Chicken, yum yum & the house coffee was delish too!), great service & friendly staff (our waitress spotted the hash browns a little crispy and asked right away if wed like them less crispy. I prefer crispy but my friend did not, there was a new plate of brought within a minute!), moderately priced (around $25 for two coffees & two filling breakfast!). I will definitely be back again! June 27th 2020 We had been to a graduation gathering in Sioux Falls and on our way back home to southern Iowa, we had decided to just get off at a random exit in Sioux City and look for a less fast food, more restaurant/cafe type of place to eat, as dinner time was edging an overdue.Luck was on our side and the first place we saw was Horizon Family Restaurant.What a GREAT place to eat. They had a great evening special, and a terrific variety on their menu.We had a little of both. I don’t feel it’s important to state what we ate because if the rest of the menu is presented as well as our meals, then it should all be goodWe were greeted at the door and our waitress was prompt and very friendly.Our food was fresh and very tasty, and the salad appeared and tasted garden fresh.The prices were well within reason especially with the amount of food that was served.The observation of CDC guidelines were followed as well.We will be stopping at Horizon Family Restaurant again on our next pass through Sioux City Iowa
Love this little mom n pop restaurant! The food is great and service is excellent! They have an old school diner counter to sit at and grab a quick bite and full dining room. The owners are Greek, so they are delicious Greek dishes on the menu as well! Support local business and check this place out!

I ordered the breakfast skillet. The potatoes were not done. Waitress was amazing and had them redo my meal. It came out not done again and unable to finish it. Went in hungry and left hungry

Its a good place to eat depends on the day... bc we go on Saturday and its amazing then we come on sundays and it just isnt... Im not sure if they switch cooks... but either the pancakes didnt taste the same as before or food is too dry... eggs not cooked to order... ask for over easy and it comes out over cooked...

It had been a long time since I was here! The food is even better than I remember!! Great food at Wonderful Prices with Fantastic Service!! There were 7 people at our table! Every one of us had a meal made to perfection!! I will definitely be back and am disappointed in myself that it had been so long!

Waited almost an hour for our meal. Baked potatoes looked liked they’d been in the warming drawers from the night before. Neither of ours were edible. When asked for a replacement manager asked to see them first. Having managed restaurants myself, I thought the manager would actually come and talk to us. But nope – when checking out they told us that next time it would be better. I don’t think - actually I KNOW there won’t be a next time.

Horizon a is great, cozy cafe like restaurant. Theyre breakfast is amazing and relatively cheaper compared to Perkins or IHOP. Wait time isnt that long especially if theyre busy, which they are weekend mornings. Staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home.
Food is good, service was great. Building needs tlc could use a remodeling updating job inside and out.
Was there last night after two years away...had the goulash, but loved it years ago. But now was bland no flavor, used to have green peppers or good flavor. Noodles were mushy and salad bar is lacking variety. The only thing that saved it was the chicken noodle soup. Will not return until the change somethings to show flavor. I understand why their business is dropping. I am someone who grew up with them from teen years and now am 50. They need to update selection or bring new ideas to the daily specials.
I love horizons. Good drunk food. Better than Johnnie mars. Open longer. Do not care what the locals here say. My go to breakfast spot.
