My experience with these guys was unpleasant to say the least. They were so irritated with every question I asked and the guy who checked me out was only somewhat personable once he realized I was serious about purchasing something. These guys know little to nothing about the products they are selling. I purchased 2 PBX 2xl 12-1240D subwoofers which are a compact sub meant to work in a small enclosure (according to the manufacturer a .45 cubic ft to 1 cubic ft incloser with .75 being optimal). They told me they would not be a good choice for going under the seat in my Silverado as they need a lot of air space so they wouldnt overheat. Powerbass laughed at this btw as did I. A large encloser would ruin these subs.. Little do they know that I work in car audio and build custom boxes and do car and home audio installation .Do not trust these guys and if you do buy from them do not let them install anything in your vehicle. I would highly recommend Dashboard by Karls.

Very disappointed with staff knowledge and willingness to answer questions. They have no knowledge of the products they sell or install! They are so rude if you question anything! One ⭐ is too much for the experience of dealing with them.

Oh my gosh, these guys are great! And so very nice! I am older LOL, so I don’t understand electronics all that much. But Joe was so kind and patient and explained everything to me and gave me a great deal. Plus, because my old CD player was draining my battery from running all the time, even when the truck was turned off, he was quick to get me in there so I could get it replaced. I recommend these guys highly. Check them out!

Was sold 2 harness for a self install stereo. 1st was wrong one. Glad we didnt leave the parking lot. Exchanged it for the 2nd one and it still didnt work. I try to return it and was scolded by the lady for the booklet included that I was gonna grab out the car. She said nope nevermind I wont take it. All because it had a piece of electrical tape left on it. $45.00 down the drain. She said should let the pros do it next time. I dont have that kind of money. I went to Best Buy they pulled up my car, let me see the pics and got the correct harness finally!!! Im not out to get small business, but Im not out to be hustled either.

I was told this was the place to get a remote start installed, it was fairly cheap and at first great customer service. After about a year, I started having battery issues and notified the guy at Audio Playground I took the car to a mechanic and they said ‘it’s probably the remote start that is causing you problems’,, so I tell the guy this is what the mechanic said and he says ‘oh they always like to put the blame on us’. Really?!?! Who says that to a customer who bought 2 remote starts for 2 vehicles and the same thing happens in both cars??!! You get what you pay for!

I had purchased a remote start for my wifes vehicle along with installation. My buddy Joe that I used to work with highly recommended this place. I spoke with Patty, the owner, who took the time to explain all of the different options and prices. Made an appointment for installation on a Saturday. Was expecting at least a 4 hr installation job. It was done in less than 3 hrs. Received a phone call letting me know it was ready for pick up. Upon arriving, Patty explained how the system worked, along with features it came with. Also explained how to upgrade items if we decide later that we want it, or transferring the system to another vehicle if need be. Great customer service! Hoping to get one installed on my vehicle fairly quickly. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We put a drone remote start on our vehicle. Everything went great. It was installed quick and the lady that helped us learn how to use it was amazing. Then we paid. I guess that is where customer service stops. We called today to ask a question. The young girl answered and INSTANT ATTITUDE! I have never heard anyone talk down to someone so much in my life. It was as if we were the stupidest people in the world. She wouldn’t even stop talking long enough for us to finish telling her anything! Didn’t even get to the part where they broke something in my steering column so I guess I will just listen to that rattle because you will never touch anything we own again! Everyone we know will know how this all ended.

Amazing & service LONG after purchase. My mom got me remote start & installation done here for Christmas (yea, Ive got an awesome mom-in-law!) back in 2011, my car had maybe 100,000 miles on it... in August of 2019 at 308,000 miles; we had to replace it due to cosmetic damage. During ALL of those miles in between, ANY time I came back in need of a new fob battery, if my battery was disconnected, & or I got a new car battery & needed it reprogrammed/reset (Idk if either of those are the correct word, but its my best uneducated guess) they were always quick to help me & were ALWAYS super speedy to get it working again. Even tho resetting it was super simple & they showed me how to do it myself; Id ALWAYS forget how, & end up coming back. Itd take only a minute at most to do it, & they were always patient & kind with me; & in all those years I never even once got an eye roll about my inability to remember how to do it myself. My new car will definitely be going to them!

Had the opportunity to take my brand new tacoma for a major audio upgrade. Amp,focal speakers,factory integration to get everything working together like it should. Every time I get work done here Im never disappointed. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Have gone there several times over the years, and always impressed with their professionalism, and the shop staff excellence in doing clean installs of aftermarket products. Well worth the wait (they keep pretty busy), and the price. They even install equipment you bring in (if you ask nicely ;)

Came highly recommend to me so went here first when my remote start stopped working. Although they couldnt help me (starter is a brand they dont service) they were extremely helpful and pointed me in the right direction.

I had a blown factory speaker in the front driver side which they diagnosed immediately, so I ended up getting 4 new speakers put in. It took all of 5 seconds for me to notice the difference, it was adult Christmas for me. So happy, and it even ended up being less money than I was quoted. That never happens, except for that it just did. Thanks to the staff at AP.

I cannot endorse these guys enough. All of the staff and owner(s) are extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Weve had two auto-starts installed, weve rented a U-Haul from them, and they were very generous in making a donation to a SD educational program (in the way of products and service).We plan to have them do some window tinting and rent another U-Haul from them in the near future. While I did not buy anything here, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The service charges seem reasonable, and the sales person really seemed to know his stuff.I only docked this a star, as many of the items in the shop I could find for a good amount cheaper online. Even their special sale radio was $50 cheaper regular priced on Amazon. If I do need an installation however, I will be going to them.

When i bought my car i bought a system well 3 yrs later i blew a fuse i went to audio playground to purchase a replacement fuse. A very nice lady helped me with what i needed. I never expected it but one of the gentlemen working replaced my fuse for me but i had something else wrong! Now it was few minutes to closing for them and i never expected help (im use to doing things myself or trying to. lol) he continued to help me until my system was working correctly! it was so nice of him and when i offered $20 he said with a smile I dont need that there are very few people with a kind heart in the world but one of them works here!!

Two years ago I purchased a new radio with a USB port and Bluetooth capability for my 1998 Bonneville. I also had a dash mount for my cell phone installed. Combined, this gave me global positioning in my old car.Recently, however, I bought a new cell phone and couldnt get it paired up properly with my radio. I took my problem over to Audio Playground and Patty worked with me for maybe an hour to identify and resolve my problem. She also installed a magnet plate on my new phone. When I asked Patty how much I owed for all this, she said, Thats OK. Now thats 5 star service in my book.

I had an automatic start installed into my car about 2 years ago at Audio Playground in Sioux Falls. Since then I have gotten a new vehicle and wanted to transfer the auto start into my new vehicle and I had also moved to Rapid City. I called around local businesses in Rapid to look at possibly just buying a brand new one to save myself the hassle of driving back to Sioux Falls to get this done. To do a brand new one it would cost $300+ so I called Audio Playground and explained to them my situation and asked how much it would cost to have it re-installed into my new vehicle. I was told $125-$145 with tax and I asked them if I would need to buy any extra parts or anything for my new vehicle (I gave them my old vehicle model/make and my new vehicles model/make) and they said no, that since I had a 2004 before it was new enough to just transfer it to my new vehicle. I made an appointment for this last Saturday and drove all the way from Rapid City (5 hours!!) to have this done. My mom had to drive my old car(which is now my brothers car) in and I drove my new vehicle. Once they had taken out the sensor and all of the wiring from my old car (which cost $26) they said that if I wanted to transfer the auto start into my new vehicle that I would have to purchase a $100 module part and my total cost would end up at around $300 (DOUBLE what I was told on the phone.) Weird that after they had already taken out the auto start they just magically realized that I would have to purchase this part that I was told I wouldnt need when I had called before. I told them I could have stayed in Rapid City and just purchased a brand new one for that price. So I asked them to put it back into my old car so my brother could use it and I would just buy a new one in Rapid. They said that it would be another $100 to install it back into my old car. Why would I pay $126 to be in the same predicament as when I came there?! Obviously, I went home and everyone that I talked to about this said we got seriously screwed over. I went back later that day to speak with a manger because I felt very taken advantage of. The owner/manager of the store is a JOKE!! Along with the older guy. It was literally a gang up, I was being yelled at by the both of them. There was literally no reasoning with any of the employees. They didnt care that I drove 5 hours for this appointment, they didnt care that I was told TWICE it would cost me between $125-$145 total, and they certainly didnt care about what I thought. I have never felt as disrespected in my entire life. DO NOT GO HERE, YOU WILL GET SCREWED OVER!!! Yes, it might be cheaper initially, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! ****I have literally never had a worse customer service experience in my entire life, I have never written a review on a business until now and if this saves even one person the trouble of what they would go through at Audio Playground, then it was worth it!****

Just a waste of time, showed her my photo of my radio Also I had the radio in my car and asked if she would like me to show it to her she stated no I can see what brand and what they have with the photo that you show me and that should be all right made my appointment two weeks out I get there drop off my car got a ride back home not even 20 minutes later she called me stating that they will not put my radio in due to the brand of the radio, but yet I gave her all the information before my appointment. Just really disappointed I told her I’ll pay her if she just tried it she stated no that she won’t waste all day trying it. She really offered me nothing, no solution or anything . Had an appointment scheduled. Even got a text confirming it. Showed up and they where closed. Didnt even call me and let me know.i would not recommend as I have dealt with them before and staff was rude and took forever. Even overbooked there staff.

After I spent hours trying to decide on the right components for a side by side I had to return everything 4 days later becuse of buying the wrong components for my new vehicle . The staff honored my receipts and were honest good people not just trying to rip me off . Everyone was helpful and nice shop with good knowledge. Will definitely be going back!

Absolutely worst customer experience I had in my life. These people are rude!!!. Be aware as they will overcharge you on any product and service they offer. Also, they will not keep with their return policy, which is only 7 days. I was trying to return the product which did not work in 5 days and they did not accepted. My best suggestion is: DO NOT have business with them.

We have taken multiple cars over the years to audio playground for window tinting and they continue to do the best job. Ive had windows tinted in nashville and minneapolis when I lived there and by far the best has been at audio playground.

Theyre always thoughtful and accommodating. We needed to reschedule but Ill always go back!

Just buy online they think there stuff is made of gold. Bought a set of wakeboard speakers from them for 200 bucks and found the exact same ones on the walmart website for 80 bucks....

Had some of the things I needed.

This business has NO customer service after installs. They installed my pioneer stereo and paid good money to have it done and I had some questions when i came to pick up the car. The installer ignored me like i was some kind of idiot. I have lots of work left on my car and this place lost my business.

Like most of the other reviews, I had a remote start installed here and had a bad experience. When I picked up my car, I noticed the trunk button on the remote didnt work. I asked and was told it wasnt hooked up because I didnt ask for it. umm, its one of the four buttons on the remote - yes, I want it to work. They would only do it for another $50. I declined.

My wife bought me a brand new $1000 pioneer player from audio playgrounds and with in a year it will no longer slide out and audio playground will do nothing about it. They told me that they could send it into pioneer to find out what is wrong but it would cost me $200 dollars just to find out what is wrong with it. HELL NO

I went in to purchase an amp for my bike. I was quoted $400.00 for the amp they are selling on their website for $279. I indicated this amp sells for $145-170 online (from different sellers) and was told no it isnt. The rep working was very rude and short with me. I will not buy anything else from this establishment and I will try to push everyone I talk with toward a different retail outlet.

After visiting several other audio shops while in town (from Rapid City) and looking to upgrade my really old Alpine type E subwoofer with a new shallow type S or a shallow JL, I was told by a few other places in town to check here because they are an Alpine and JL dealer.The selections were great and the two staff members were very friendly and eager to answer my questions. They asked what I was looking for and why I was looking at that particular subwoofer, I explained what I was wanting to acomplish and was met with a very understandable response. The younger guy gave me a suggestion of switching from the Alpine to JL because of the performance difference for the power that my current amplifier can offer.Since I am out of town and my local shops offer these but they would have to be ordered from them anyway, I asked them if they would be willing to ship an item. They were very willing to work with me on making a sale.I will be sure to give them my business and not only when I am in town. They earned my repeat business by being friendly and willing to work with me. They never tried to push me into a sale while I was there and that is what sold me on Audio Playground as a quality local shop.

Employees have great knowledge about there products and great service

Lied to me multiple times about the warranty. First said that I could sell them to a friend and they could use the warranty. Then they said the original owner has to trade them in for the warranty. Then they said that the warranty is voided because they were sold to a friend and I couldnt trade them in even tho Im the original owner.

Nice people but after over 2hes I find my radio doesnt work well so frustrated I shouldnt have these issues with it for the price
