So weve had this in place for a few years now. Its easy to use and can even be used as a safe room with its inside locking mechanism. Now I know during some storms you lose electricity BUT Ive even ran electric lights, radio, etc. I suppose you could actually mount a small TV in it as well. I have ours ran that should you lose electric the gas-powered generator will kick on and of course should the gas run out, which means youve been stuck in this thing for awhile, everything then runs on battery back up. It has a built in bench that holds two comfortably and once the door is closed you pop open the two other chairs and small table I have in there to play cards, or whatever else you may want to do. So, all in all, I cant say anything bad about it. Had to use it for one tornado warning and learned the way I had set everything up worked perfectly.
Paul and Nick we’re awesome in the installation of my in ground storm shelter. They were courteous, extremely efficient, clean and very nice. A one day process for me because luckily, they didn’t hit rock.
We arrived at their facility and was shown a unit. The specifications were explained to us and gave choices of how it could be installed. We chose one for 2 installed in the garage. We picked a date for installation and they called that day to say they were on their way. Installation was as promised and we are so glad we picked National Storm Shelters.
My wife and I were extremely impressed with National Storm Shelters and our tornado shelter. They sent us information by mail and e-mail right after we called. When we were shopping shelters, we went to their business in Smyrna to see an underground shelter and were blown away by their manufacturing process. We felt quite comfortable and it was easy for us to make the decision to go with National Storm Shelters after visiting them. Actually, they were the only storm shelter company in the area that really makes the shelters. The installation went as planned and no damage was done to our garage or driveway. We are so thankful that we called Larry and offered to let potential customers come to our house to see our underground tornado shelter, but so far it has only been family and friends.
Love what NSS does to keep families safe
