Best donut shop on coast hwy around Del Mar. Perfect combination of quality and priced correctly. I am from Kentucky and we dont make cake donuts like you can find on the west coast. A vanilla cake with sprinkles is non-existing in the Midwest. I love California Chinese-owned donuts they are what makes America great. So while on vacation in Del Mar I went everyday to find this donut. There are a few shops around that get passing grades, but this was far and away the best of them. They have a classic selection and get the basics all right. Cake consistency - perfect. Glazing - perfect. Sprinkle quantity (not too much or too little). A+

Some of the best dounts ive had, but the hours of this place are not ideal for a dount shop. Dont open until 7am and on Sundays open @ 6am (whos waking up earlier on a Sunday than the rest of the week)?! Open until 6pm. Should open @ 5am and close at 2pm. Other than hours, get some gret donuts here!

I grew up in Solana Beach, and this place has been a constant source of goodness through the years. Specifically, the Apple Fritters are the best Ive had.

The donuts are definitely good. But the lady behind the counter always appears to be angry. If she were more pleasant, I am pretty sure she would be doing more business.

If you are looking for a cool vibe ambiance or a friendly smile from the matron, not the place to go. But if you want good donuts in most of the typical shapes and flavors, you wont go wrong. Every bit as good as the more popular shop a couple of miles to the North (but without the variety of cakes, pies, pastries). But dont be late... some preferred donuts can run out by late morning/early afternoon, especially on the weekend. A regular favorite take-out stop for the family!

Great French cafe with crepes, omelettes, open sandwiches, salads and pastries. Nice outdoor seating area.

Not a huge selection of donuts. But they have my favorite which are old fashioned plain and they are very good.Woman working there isnt really outgoing friendly or outgoing but not a huge deal.

I come here every week. Its not the best donut in SD, there are more celebrated shops in close proximity. But something keeps me coming back. The donuts are just.. balanced and well executed. No ambience to speak of, owners are very warm once you get to know them. The pecan buttermilk is the business!

I went in about 7:45 this morning right before they put the apple fritters out, when they came out they were still hot. They had glazed and crumb apple fritters so I got one of each. Literally the best apple fritters I have ever had. Like crack!!

I went there in the morning just after 6:00 a.m. and it wasnt open even though it said they were open online. I stopped by again in the evening before 6:00 p.m. They had a very limited selection with not much to choose from. The cashier was watching T.V. when I arrived and wasnt especially friendly. I mentioned that it said they were open online when they werent and the sign on the door said they were open at 6:00:a.m. She said they were open at 7:00 a.m. and didnt seem to care that the sign said otherwise. I left and she went back to watching T.V. One donut was fine and the other was very pain. I suspect if they had a better selection the donuts would be good.

Decent custard filled Bismarck and French donut, both with chocolate icing.Coffee was soothed with half and half right out of fridge.Notice on door states the shop will be closed August 14th,2019 thru September 2nd,2019 for travel to owner’s native Thailand .
