A beautiful store that has a great selection of books. Everything from childrens, YA, adult, and local! We stopped by on our way to Homer because I had finished my book and need another for our trip. We ended up stopping by again on our way back through two days later! They have a cute little market attached to the back as well. If I lived local, Id be here a lot.

What a delight! A real life book store (such a rarity these days) with a great selection. Tons of kids books too ranging from toddlers to young adults.

CONGRATULATIONS to owner Peggy Mullen for being inducted into the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame (10.20.2020) !River City Books is my all time favorite little bookstore because Peggy Mullen’s heart and intellect inspire everything about it. She unfailingly curates a delightful and inspiring selection of books for readers of all ages and interests. And she presides over her store with grace and warmth; most often she is tucked behind the sales counter and when she looks up in greeting you feel as if you could just move in and live there, especially since there is a deli right next door! Who could want for more - great books, good food, and Peggy! I never go through Soldotna without a stop at River City Books!

A wondrous book store! An amazing variety of books, magazines, calenders, and writing paraphernalia. The owner has an eclectic knowledge of subjects and has been able to locate literature for every question I have posed. She is an invaluable resource herself.

Maybe the best small town bookstore I have ever experienced! Well organized, incredibly friendly staff, one of which is often the owner. Her love of books, reading, and her community shines in her thoughtful interactions with customers, and the amazingly full section on all things Alaska and Kenai Peninsula. I never leave River City Books empty-handed, and they always offer to wrap anything I buy if needed, for free. Hope you all enjoy visiting as much as I do!

Super mellow spot with really helpful staff who were able to order some books I was looking for with no extra charge. Lucys Market in the back of the building is also great! Tasty, healthy grab and go snacks, sandwichs and drinks.

While shopping for great reads, make sure to grab a Declination pour over from Lucys.

The owner was rude and condescending. Worst customer service ever. Left without purchasing anything.

Best bookstore in our twin cities! If they do not currently have what u r looking for, they are happy to order it for you! I highly recommend anybody traveling thru the Kenai Peninsula to stop in, if u r a local.. Best place to buy your books.. Dont forget your book bucks!!!
