Horrible company. I purchased an entire new unit from this company 6 years ago for close to $10,000. A few days ago my air went out. I called McAllister to arrange repair and as my 93 year old mother in law lives with me explained the urgency. I was told as I hadn’t purchased a preferred customer warranty it would be a 2 WEEK wait. I do not even remember being offered the opportunity of a warranty, but regardless it’s their equipment and they should stand by it. I called Celtic air, they were out the next day and it took literally 10 minutes to repair for very little cost. I will never use McAllister again.

I must say that, during a very serious time of need for our family, McAllister went above and beyond the call of duty, and responded with respect, courtesy, and (of course) great service, as they always do and have always done for our family over the years that we have lived in the area. In these turbulent times of the pandemic and some extremely hot weather, I must say that McAllister realized the need to help us, and did so immediately and without question. Bravo to the best!

Last Friday our daughters air conditioning system stopped working on (of course) the hottest day of the summer. We spoke to Mark Urbon at McAllister, who couldnt have been nicer and more sympathetic. The company sent John, their technician, who was so thorough, so kind, and so efficient, and replaced the part that had gone bad the same day. We HIGHLY recommend McAllister for all your heating and cooling needs!

We have been a customer of McCallister for more than 10 years. Recently needed to replace an A/C compressor. Contacted Mark Urbon who provided a Proposal in 1 day. We had relatives planning to use the house a week later and McCallister installed the new equipment 3 days after we accepted the proposal. Mark recommended a reasonable solution and the two installers, Chris and Carlos, were on time, neat and friendly w/the installation. During more than 10 years, we have done a lot of biz w/Mccallister (service & equipment) and felt that we always received Excellent service at a Fair price.

I was told that I would be scheduled for service. I spoke to Technician who said he would issue a report for the service Team the next morning. I tried calling at 8am the next day when they opened and nobody picked up the phone, it went to a Answering Machine. I then called back later that same day in the afternoon only to be told I had just missed getting a work order created because the person went home. Then 2-days later I get a phone call telling me they were too busy to help me that day as well. Worst customer service in the world and would never use them ever.

I got a few quotes from companies and McAlister was THOUSANDS above the others. Clays heating and cooling has FAR better reviews and the price was way lower. For those of you who are suspicious. Please get quotes before going with McAllister. Im in the military and move around all the time and their prices were wild.

Very disappointing. Ive used McAllister for 10 years without a problem. Then, this summer it was near impossible to get them to come out and when the guy came, he was unprofessional, complaining about working too much and the job he did was horrific. He left a two inch gap in my attic ductwork, did not secure the return duct and did a half@ss job putting the insulation back. Tom Trip said he would forward my unhappiness to Steve Raymond, but I never heard anything. Find a service company that cares. Never again will I use McAllister.

Spent a month with my family in South Jersey and they had an issue with their heating system. No problem at all with the technician. He found the problem immediately, loose wiring. Big problem with the bill for $155.67 since I have a comfort plan that costs $140 plus tax per year, mainly for an annual performance tune-up that includes tighten wiring connections. Hard to believe this was done during last years tune-up.

Charged $80.00 to tell me I need a new AC. The tech who came over was real nice and told me Mark the salesperson will call to come over and quote a new AC. No one called so I called office and they said Mark is your salesperson and will call you today. 4 days later and no call. Just amazing you charge $80 for service call and you have a customer that needs a new AC unit and no one calls to set up an appointment.

The sales rep, Mark Urbon was fantastic and was the reason we selected this company to instal our heat/ac. The confidence and value of the product he shared was outstanding. His expertise allowed us to feel comfortable having work done while we were not on site. He followed up with us after the installation and checked the work that was done. He showed us how to use the equipment when we were in town.Although we did not meet the installers, Chris and Myron, they obviously did an excellent job. The work was done neatly and the site was left clean. My service technician was very good he serviced two air units and was very accomplished. He searched out all the filters removed replaced then discarded. He washed outside units then waxed them to prevent pitting in salt air. I own a lot of real estate and never had a serviceman do what this gentleman did. Good job

Appointment scheduled between 12 and 2. I had to call when no one showed up by 1:30. The excuse was that the customer at previous job showed up late. I was there at 11:55. Why make me wait?Invoice says that job isnt perfect because of ambient temperatures. Therefore, there should be a follow-up to make sure the amount of Freon is correct and give me 100% satisfaction as advertised. I do not want to wait until the unit malfunctions like it did two weeks after the precision tune-up last year!! That caused the fan motor to fail.There is now a ticking noise by the control panel in the attic which wasnt there before. The tenants can hear the ticking in the bedroom below.The price was twice as much as I was quoted by the technician one year ago, for the replacement of the dryer filter. - Don Cocozza, owner

The blower fan went on our furnace. We called McCallister who was jammed busy at the time. But since we have a long time customer they sent someone the next day! And the motor was replaced after diagnostics have proven that was indeed the actual problem. Everything works great now, thanks to your friendly and efficient staff! Poor experience. Technicians out 3 times to fix leak in roof and leak from pipe. Did not clean up work area when done. Left door wide open when they left with no one home. Did terrible job around compressor with lattice work. Now waiting for 1st rain to see if leak fixed. Would like a call from owner of company.One thing I can say is they came back as soon as I called to fix problems. As of today 5/7 leaks seem to be fixed. Also lattice was replaced and looks great now. I think they need to follow up with customers to make sure their satisfied with installation and repairs.after all problems mcallaster did correct all problems.i called on 5/12 to check on rebates form I never received and asked for Be-- . I feel she was very rude and when I called a second time I believe she hung up on me I called back and she didnt take my call.

I called for service, the technician showed up 2 hours late with no phone call. The proceeded to quote me over $800 for a repair, that I then called another company and repaired for me for a fraction of the cost. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! I even tried to call the owner of the company, Tom, several times, with NO call back. This was not my first bad experience with them but it was my last!!!

BEWARE OF MCALLISTER!!!! Today my downstairs neighbor had a sales man come out to discuss a new air conditioner. The representative told me I had to pay to have my air conditioner and platform altered as it was a city ordinance that the AC unit could not extend the 1 inch over the platform. He reported that he could not replace the neighbors unit unless I also had work done. I immediately notified MY reputable service company who does not take advantage of older residents in trying to sell them unnecessary services. I was told by an HONEST company that this is only for new construction and not existing structures. I will tell everyone I know that McAllister is not truthful in doing their business. I could not post this review unless McAllister was given a star for the review. A single star is too positive a comment for them.

SHADY SHADY SHADYMcAllister sent a young guy to my house to check my AC, because it stop running. I stayed out side with him to observe what he was doing. I went in the house for 5 minutes and returned to have another guy from McAllister in my drive way. I ask if there was a problem and he responded no. I went back to the original guy and noticed he was being walked through by speaker phone on what to do and how to do it. He finished checking my AC and stated I needed a motor and a capacitor and quoted me $625 dollars and it needed to be. ordered. However; I called McAllister to find out how long would it take to get the part in. A guy stated they needed to send someone out to do some measurements. I thought that to be strange, but I agreed because I was going on vacation and would return in a week. A guy showed up the very next day after I returned from vacation and gave me a price of $5,534 dollars. Not to mention, All Zone gave me a price for $6,800 dollars. I got a third opinion from a friend of mind who I grew up with and had time to come out to my house and take a look at my unit. However, he stated all I needed was a capacitor and some freon. The capacitor was $36 dollars and the freon was $125 dollars. A $5,534 dollars job turned out to be a $161.00 dollar job. These guy are SCAMMERS, so run as fast as you can and dont look back.

My review is based on the poor customer service I received today, not based on the service technicians I have used in the past.I called McAllister to schedule work on my central air conditioning unit and to have a new thermostat installed. When I called today, I told the representative, (I believe she said her name was Beth), that I had had called earlier in the week but there were no available appointments that worked with my schedule. The customer service representative I spoke with earlier in the week had a very good disposition and even asked a service technician call me to discuss my issue, and he was very helpful. So was the first representative. The technician told me the next available appointment wouldnt be until next week. I decided to wait.Then yesterday, I received a message from McAllister advising that there would be an opening later this week. When I called to inquire whether the opening was still available, Beth told me that there were no appointments until the end of August--more than a month from now. When I told Beth that I received a call yesterday telling me there was an opening this week, she very rudely told me that I didnt receive a call yesterday. When I told her that I did, she flat out hung up on me. I was stunned . . .Im not sure why Beth is working in customer service, but she should not be answering calls. She is rude, nasty and unprofessional. She actually chastised me for not knowing that a service call was different from a check up. (I dont know the difference--I only know that my AC isnt cold enough, and the remedy is to call an HVAC company for assistance.) I had work done by McAllister in the past and the two different technicians who worked at my house seemed knowledgeable, which is why I chose to use the company again. Unfortunately, Beth was so nasty and rude that I dont feel comfortable even asking questions.There are any number of air conditioning service companies who can sell me an air conditioner, so I wont lose any sleep over it. But I think as a business owner, the company should know how its representatives are treating customers. There is no reason to be rude to customers who are seeking to patronize your business, and certainly no need to hang up on callers whose lack of industry lingo somehow offends you.Revised Review Below:A few days after posting the above, I received a phone call from Tom McAllister, the owner of the company, who apologized for the poor treatment I received from the customer service representative. I appreciated his call. We spoke about my air conditioner and other work I needed done, and I booked my service appointment with him. The technician was friendly, knowledgeable did a great job-- just like the technicians I used in the past. I am happy with the service I received and will call them the next time I need service.

I used this company for a long time. They used to be wonderful. Then, they started sending a rude service guy to my home, who (each time he came to my new home) insulted me and was just rude - definitely not professional or nice at all. Also .... when I first moved into my new home, I had no idea about emergency switches being used to shut off the heating. We didnt have that at my old house. My brother-in-law turned off the switch, thinking it was a light switch, and my house was freezing in the middle of winter. I told them I have a baby and a toddler (I had a 4 month old and a 1 1/2 year old), and I had to argue with them to get them to come out the next day... The next afternoon, the repairman walked into my house, flicked the emergency switch, and gave me a bill for $80. Thats all I have to say about them. Ive moved on to a different company.

I purchased a house with a heating system that McAllister installed under 2 years prior. The blower unit had a problem on a snowy saturday. The serviceman came out through a snowy day, which I appreciated. But I had to pay $80 for a diagnosis, which turned out to be wrong. He said I had a blown motor which was under warranty but Id have to pay for labor. $300 for an hour!! Although they couldnt get the motor for two days. I called Monday and asked for the motor to get another local guy to do it for $70. The parts department said no way. I had to pay the 300 to get the warranty work done. I called broadleys on Monday and they diagnosed a bad breaker. $12. Plus they reconfigured my thermostat in 15 minutes, which the McAllister guys told me was a major job. Big money. They seem to have a knack to make easy jobs seem like a big deal. I will never use McAllister again and I will never refer anyone to them.

Tom McAllister stood by his word. He said if it was a problem with his installation of 2014, he would make the operation correct. The 18,000 BTU heat pump unit, that we use for air conditioning, was losing Freon and we had to have it charged twice since the installation... so it was filled with Freon 3 times. His technician replaced the line set running underneath the crawlspace and recharged with Freon, again. Looking forward to good cooling for summer 2018! (They also cancelled the 2nd Freon fill from 2017.) Thank you McAllister... The Service Company!
