This is a great little shop. I was especially pleased with their snack section (cheese, charcuterie, spreads, crackers, etc.) - the selection was so yummy and it was all very reasonably priced. I’ll definitely stop here next time I have I’m in the area and need to bring wine and snacks to pass.

I have purchased wines from their store for many years now and have been happy.I had them do a delivery for the first time last week and they were wonderful! They had to substitute a wine that I ordered, and they called ahead and made sure it was ok, and it actually was better than I had ordered!! Would do it again! Thank you for such great service!!

Wont ever go back. As a person of color I felt discriminated against.Very unprofessional and unfriendly vibes by one of the staffers that was pretending to do work in the aisles wherever I was browsing (l was looking for a bottle of Fortaleza tequila btw, very hard find).Instead of following me around, how about asking if I needed help?First time and last time at this place.

This is the best wine shop youll find in all of Boston metro! They offer a variety of unique beverage and food products youll find nowhere else. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly.

I called from CT to have them put together a congratulatory gift basket for my son who lives up there. They did an amazing job!! Far exceeded my expectations. He was surprised and totally pleased. The selection of items put into the basket i.e. cheeses, crackers were so unique. I wouldnt hesitate to call them again!

Great selection, questionable service. I went in yesterday to pick up some beer for the weekend, and I was looking at Untappd to help decide which beers I wanted to spend my money on. Someone who worked at the store came up to me and said: “Don’t look at your phone. We have a real person here who can help you decide on a beer.” I get his point, but his tone was unnecessarily crass, and at the end of the day - I’ll do what I want, thank you. So the beer guy was somewhat helpful (and pointed out he never uses Untappd…not that I asked), but he also talked to me like I didn’t know what good beer is - he just assumed I knew nothing. (And no, dude, I don’t want to buy a pastry stout). The whole experience was surprising, condescending, and left me with a bad feeling about this place. I bought the beer that I originally wanted, but honestly regret giving them any of my money.

This is an excellent shop! I’d really recommend signing up for their newsletter. They always have tastings of wine and beer, and sometimes they have grand spirit tastings for butters or whiskeys or other things. It’s really great. They also have the cheapest prices of any of the wine shops around that I can find.

Excellent, broad selection of wines, beers, and spirits, knowledgeably selected and at good prices. (This is where I go for amontillado and absinthe, for instance.) Also a small but excellent selection of gourmet foods. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.

Incredibly rude and inadequate customer service. There were three if us inside and instead of waiting to let people in the store, he kicked one of us out! Was not professional and very unfriendly.

The Ball Square Fine Wines team helped me to cater a cocktail party and everything turned out excellent. The cheese, meat and snack platters delicious. I received many complements on the beer and wine selection, which their expert staff picked out for me. Great place, great service. They have fresh Iggys baguette daily. We also go there for our beer, wine and cheese needs.They go out of their way to make sure were always satisfied. And their prices are very competitive too. What else could we ask for?

I placed an order Thursday night and asked for delivery to my daughter Friday morning for her graduation weekend with her friends. Despite the short notice, the delivery was on time and just as instructed. They texted and called my daughter to let her know it was on her porch. They even included a note card with our message to her and her room mates. Well done!

The staff here are great, super friendly and really knowledgeable. Nate is my go-to for bourbon advice - he remembers what we like and makes recommendations accordingly. They run weekly Friday wine tastings and regular ‘grand tastings’ with different themes - the Bubbly tasting in December is my fave. While it’s a fairly small store, they have a good selection and prices and very reasonable.

Best liquor store in the Davis square area. I cant speak to all of Boston, but I absolutely love this place. Free wine and cheese tastings, grand tastings, good cheap wine, excellent staff who know their stuff, theyve got it all.

What could be said more about this jewel of a store ? They have premium wines, beer and liquors. They find almost anything I need. Chris is real gentlemen and its crew is professional and courteous. Nate and Dan are literally amazing. I feel home when I go there.Should I say anything else ? Go visit them and youll understand.

Selection is not huge (its a small place and they dont have the space to carry everything) but if theres anything you want, they can usually get it. Very helpful. Id give 5 stars for service. Also, they do tastings frequently, and are very good at helping you decide what you want to get.

This is one of my favorite stores for both alcohol and gourmet treats.Update-The people who work here have taught me a great deal about wine, beer and liquor. I continue to find new delights with their help.The regular and Grand tastings are another wonderful chance to learn and expand my taste palette. This place is a true gem.

It may just have been my experience but as a person of color didn’t appreciate the random staffer that began to do inventory near me as soon as I came in, or the rudeness from another staffer. Didn’t feel welcomed and won’t be back.

They will take the time to help you find exactly what youre looking for without rushing you & theyre very VERY knowledgeable so theyll give you all kinds of info pertaining to the beer or wine youre looking for; or help you decide what to get if youre unsure. Its pretty rare these days to find such good customer service so it deserves to be applauded. They have tastings here on a regular basis, and they also have a great selection of cheeses, snacks, and beer or wine related gifts. I highly recommend this store!! For a small store, there is an amazing selection of wine, beer, and spirits. There is even a cold case with cheese and cured meats. The tastings are worthwhile every Friday (and sometimes other days). Dont expect to find a lot of bargains after you walk past the bins in the front corner.

This Wine shop has beer and wine tasting nights. They carry many cheeses that go well with the wines they have. The location is stylish and close to Davis and a 89 bus stop. Staff is wicked helpful. One woman took the time to look up a beer for me with only it has a plastic goat on a red string. And found it. If you want it they will get it for you.

Phenomenal liquor store that also runs periodic tastings where they get big industry reps come and hock all their stuff. You can go and get cheap wine but if you pay attention you can also get free expensive bourbon samples.

Awesome wine selection - I always check out their extensive Bin Ends selection of reasonably priced and marked-down wines in the crates near the front of the shop as you walk in. They have a lot of tasting notes and hints to help you choose a wine while browsing which I massively appreciate.They have a great selection of craft beer, cider, and other beverages as well. Staff are friendly and helpful too!They also carry a selection of gourmet foods to go with your wines, such as locally-made jams and so forth.Free tastings often, though Ive never managed to align schedules to be there for one. They host a wonderful selection of wines and high spirits. The staff and the events that they host makes me wish I lived closer. It is always a treat when I get to attend their tasting events, but my wallet does not enjoy it as I tend to leave with something in was not really expecting to.

There are a lot of reasons to love this place. My favorite is the extensive selection of scotch, bourbon, and rye. They also have great wine and beer and a staff that is always available for a spot-on recommendation. Not to mention the fantastic weekly tastings, the excellent cheeses and the tubs of luxardo cherries they sell!

Really poor customer service because of age discrimination.They thought I was underaged. I asked them to suggest a white wine for my upcoming date night. No response. I asked a second time and the guy had the audacity to say “should you even be here?”. I’m 26 years old. I may be a millennial but damn whatever happened to don’t judge a book by its cover?

Small store with the vibe of a second-hand bookshop selling a huge variety of beer, wine and liquor, including rare Craft Beers and cheap High Life. Cheese is a thing here, too. Theres a shelf with British confectionery by the checkout; waiting to take advantage of the weak-willed.

Updating my review as we move away from Ball Square. This place is always welcoming, friendly, helpful, and hosts community events all the time (Pre-COVID). We’ve run into the owner a few times now and he clearly cares about his customers. I’m so happy places like this exist and I will give them all my business.

I dont think I need to say more than free wine, beer, and cheese tasting every Friday. But just in case that doesnt convince you, but they have lovely and knowledgeable staff, who are willing to help you find anything you want (and they have a good variety of beer and wine, but they will order it for you if it isnt there).

Great selection of imported beer, and some solid gins. One of the people working there did seriously tell me the Game of Thrones beers were pedestrian, which I found a little haughty.
