Ive been shopping at NewStart Consignment for years. Thomas and Alvin are friendly and outgoing with a fun sense of humor. Thomas is a sharp business man and he is honest. When I visited his shop after about a year he bought to my attention that I had store credit which I completely forgot about. He has quality items arranged in an organized fashion.

Fabulous customer service, fun conversation & great finds! Could’ve spent twice as much time searching through everything. Will indubitably be back again!

Everything about NSC is wonderful--Thomas especially. He is so kind and welcoming, he remembers every name and every face, and every price and transaction is fair. I have been a customer/contributor for years and he has just been amazing since the beginning. Whenever I am back in town, I try to bring in accessories for him to sell--those are what bring in the money!! To compare his store to the big consignment corporations--they will give you the lowest price for your items and will only take pieces that are in style right now. You get cash up front, but its not ever much. Thomas knows what sells and what doesnt, and gives you 50% of the saleprice thatgoea into your own personal account. There have been many occasions I have gotten large checks! If you are in the area, you need to get over to NSC!!

New Start is a fun little shop in downtown Somerville that is packed with beautiful items. They have some of everything! I have been a customer for many years and have always enjoyed going there. Thomas runs a really nice business and he is a pleasure to deal with.

Super clean and organized! Everything in this store was in pristine condition. I didnt see any clothes with marks or damage. Some of the nicer stuff was even put in garment bags. Fair prices for the condition of the clothes. Check this place out! Also the young man at the computer, not sure if he is the owner, was very nice and seemed like he put his heart into running the store . Just a thought, a more modern front logo sign and display would draw in more customers.

Thomas is easy to work with and maintains a clean and professional atmosphere. I have been consigning at New Start for years and would not consider doing business with anyone else.

Sad to say that I have been calling this consignment shop all summer and no one answers the phone. Today is Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 11:10 am and still no one is answering the phone. I do not understand why there is no voice mail. I have to say, they lost my business as well as others.
