Clean, relatively inexpensive for the Cambridge/Somerville area for a 5x10. No working bathrooms only portopotties which is kind of unsanitary, but its better than nothing I guess right? definitely didnt like seeing transients coming and going from the portopotties. I think Ill just hold it! It felt like there was no air conditioner on or even air flow in there, maybe it was just me. Its in an old mill factory building so each stall is not completely sealed up, but it seems like it should be okay in regards to moisture, I just hope no little bug critters make their way into our spot due to the open sides on ceilings. Only one lift worked which sucked and I dont like how anyone can just walk in when you put your code in to go through the garage loft door, like someone standing behind can just walk through once you input your code. I wish it was more secure outside..I just definitely wont be going at night or not alone. Overall its good value for the space..wish there was a U-Haul storage closer. Love the locked fence idea around the perimeter of the property, just have to deal without it I guess.

Used this facility for two and a half years. Had a climate controlled unit. Completely happy with my experience, clean and pest free, easy to access and well maintained. highly recommend! Should I need again in the future I’ll be back!

Positive reviews of this place cannot possibly be real. Currently, the bathrooms do not work (Port-o-potties are in the lot), elevator does not work (be ready to bring that couch up the stairs!), and one of the two large doors does not work. All that is left that works is one door. Once that breaks, you wont be able to access your stuff at all.

It was really clean and it was a fair price to store my stuff for a few months over the summer. There was a large commotion trying to move back to school with COVID and they were very accommodating with anything I had forgotten to do

The manager, Chuck who helps me every time is extremely helpful and accommodating to all my needs. I am always needing something and he is always there to help or give advice. I rented a first floor unit for approximately 2 years. The facility was always clean and had convenient access hours. My belongings were stored safely and in kept in great condition. The front desk staff were always polite and helpful.

If I needed storage again, I would absolutely do business at this location.

Ive been storing here for over two years and use it very actively. Uncle Bobs (now Life Storage unfortunately) is heaven sent. The building is beautiful, well lit and kept very clean. I shopped around and at the time, it was less expensive than any others in the vicinity (one of which was damp and dirty). Its nicely heated, even in our winters. Some of the top floor storage units have windows - a friend rented one to work on an art conservation project and loved it. There is a workroom and a conference room available to the tenants with free WIFI.Best of all, is the staff. Each and everyone has been extraordinarily accommodating. Lending chairs and tools when Ive occasionally needed; directing people to my unit; and just extremely pleasant and kind. I hope Life Source understands what a treasure they have in Chuck, the Manager, and all the staff.Hours are good; parking is great. I honestly cant think of a single negative (except for the new name!)

What a convenient storage facility!! Did you know that have very small 2x2 storage lockers available?? No? Well neither did I but Jessica who runs the office and rents out the units showed me some really tiny ones that were accessible for my personal storage needs. (More like a large gym locker but perfect for the occasion😎) She was very helpful and friendly during the sign up. Cheers!!!This place is located just off Mcgrath Highway in Somerville. The facility is is quiet, private, and never has to many people in and out an any time. The staff is very courteous and Covid aware, always masked up, and they give you plenty of breathing room(Social distance). Its easy in and easy out of this place and im happy that i found it.

We love Uncle Bobs in Somerville! The premises and storage space are clean and easy to get to with readily available loading carts. My nonprofit hosts small volunteer events there to work on our inventory, and we love the room with workstations. They will event let us set up a table next to our space for volunteers during our events. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the space is less expensive than spaces we rent in other cities. They have retrofitted an old brick building and the set up looks great and works well. Three cheers to Uncle Bobs!

Facilities are clean and well lit. Tracy was very pleasant and helpful in guiding through the process of obtaining and accessing the storage locker. Elevator works, although there is only 1 and its not the fastest. Storage available at lower level, 1st (ground), 2nd, and 3rd floor.

I just got off the phone with Tracey from the Somerville office. Im currently moving out of cambridge and was looking for a unit to store my bed I recently purchased. Tracey was patient, eager to offer assistance, and most of all an overall happy person. I was looking for a storage unit to back up into and drop off the bed as Im doing this work by myself- Tracey gave me a list of other Life Storage locations that have this feature. Moving is more than stressful and Tracey definitely relieved some nerves with just a five minute call. Next time you call, I 100% recommend asking for Tracey.

I absolutely love this place. It was really easy to get to, has a parking lot, you can come in and out whenever youd like. Its clean and temperature controlled with plenty of carts to wheel your stuff in and out. I stored my things here while I was traveling and the people were very helpful, I was able to do everything online, and I loved the auto-pay system. I have recommended this storage facility to all my friends and family.

Great storage space, very convenient right off of McGrath Hwy. Knowledgable staff. Inside is always very clean, well lit. Two garage doors for loading and competitive prices. We looked at Planet Storage and a few others and we so disappointed with wood doors/walls and possibility of water damage! Not here, everything is metal, rolling lock doors and wide hallways. Highly recommend if you need a storage locker but check well ahead of time as they fill up quick especially around August!

It is a great place to store your stuff. The facility is neat, the associates are nice. The only problem is that they dont have a gate to prevent people from driving in.

Staff are very friendly and happy to help you if needed.Electronic keypad for safety with plenty of security cameras.The reason I’m taking off stars is because the elevator has been broken 11 out of the 12 months I’ve been there. If you can’t be on the ground floor, I’d recommend going across the street to the other storage facility even though it’s not as nice/clean.UPDATE: The inspector finally came in and fixed the elevator making it easier to access all floors. The staff is very nice and it wasn’t their fault that the elevator was down.

I run a small business and have been working with this storage facility since before Uncle Bobs came and took over the building. The building is very well maintained, clean, bright and always safe under surveillance. With the crew that runs this place, this is pretty much the best storage Ive ever worked with. Plentiful parking space, good hand carts to use, a small dock to load if you ever need it, two ramps so its never backed up, and an organized system. Not open 24 hours, but open everyday for good amount of hours so as long as youre a good planner youll be okay. Chuck the manager has been with Uncle Bobs since their early days and understands the importance of customer service and maintains the place in pretty much perfect condition. He also focuses on staffing the building with capable and very friendly staff that will work with you with all your needs and takes the time to get to know you. Special mention to Dequan and Jose, who always takes the extra step to help customers, as an example my mother had to pickup a few packages for me, which she would be perfectly capable of doing using the facility hand carts. Jose during that moment was not busy at the office and hand carried all of the packages to her car, which made the pickup a lot easier and faster. I can guarantee there are no other storage places that will have customer service like this team does.

My son attends that school in Cambridge Mass., and we needed a storage unit for his belongings during the summer. Chuck is the manager at Somerville and he personally made sure everything was perfect...so much that we are repeat customers. I would highly recommend Life Storage! They have a ramp to back up to, plenty of carts, elevators, good lighting, clean restrooms, and a clean facility! They also have locks, boxes, tape, etc., to purchase.

This location is extraordinarily exceptional.When closing up for non-profit that I volunteer in, the lock broke and while I expected to buy a lock from the associate, the Store Manager was magnanimous by providing a free lock. He didnt have to do it, and I dont expect this to happen every day, but that truly made my day.The place is clean, including the bathrooms, and while you are unlikely to take advantage of the WiFi, its free.I usually dont comment on storage spaces, but the people that work there are nice and helpful and if I needed storage space, I would not hesitate to go there and I certainly would recommend this place to others.

DO NOT USE! Their elevator has been down for over two years now (with a brief exception). This has rendered my basement unit unusable. You would think for the inconvenience that they would offer a discount. NO! In fact, they continue to raise my rates exponentially. I would like to leave but am now held hostage until the elevator is fixed.

Great place to store your stuff. Its clean, bright and now that Uncle Bobs owns it, safe (the prior company that owned this facility didnt keep security as one of their top priorities and several lockers were broken into). I have been using it for years and find the facility to be great - elevator always works, the passcode to get into the doors always works, etc. So no complaints here.

The elevator has been out of commission for nearly a year. Envision your belongings stored somewhere within a very large 4 floor warehouse and now you have to carry things from you storage unit to your car one box at a time because the elevator is in-operable. Essentially your things completely inaccessible.The facility recently went through a merger and they have been saying it will be fixed shortly and sorry for the inconvenience but Clearly the new ownership group has no intent on fixing it. A year is plenty of time to fix anything.CR

The problem is the freight elevator, which has been down for over 8 months with no word from management on when repairs will occur.As a long term renter, I have been with this location since it was Uncle Bobs storage.Tenants on the 2nd and 3rd floor are completely out of luck if their items cannot fit in the small passenger elevator in the rear of the building. To add insult to injury, the passenger elevator had an expired inspection plate for several weeks.This might resolve itself eventually, but be forewarned - you pay a premium price here and the new management has not shown initiative either to communicate with tenants or take needed steps to make sure essential systems are maintained.

Very clean, decent access in/out building, lots of carts and a huge elevator. The building is equipped with security access and cameras. Interior temperature is constant and no humidity. Theyve changed ownership a few times over the past five years, but aside from creating new online accounts, the transitions are smooth. The only downside to this storage facility is accessing the location. After turning into the pothole-filled parking lot, you have to drive down the side of the building that is alongside McGrath Highway. This is a one lane driveway. I drove a sedan and felt it to be a bit tight, so I can only imagine how difficult it would be to drive down with a moving truck.
