Greta and Anita are so talented at what they do! They have a ton of inventory and variety, and really help you one-on-one. I was nervous about wedding dress shopping and they were incredibly helpful and really understood what I was looking for. While I ended up finding my dress at another store, my experience at Gretas was by far the best!

Bought my mother of Bride dress from there and they measured me and the dress was so big. They ordered a size 20 and I am a size 12. Took my dress to get alterations and it was to cost me $280.00 which I paid & 239.68 for the dress. Needless to say I bought another dress that actually fits me. This was a nightmare for me with all the stress of wedding stuff, I did not expect the dress to be so big seeing they measured me. Not sure why they ordered such a big dress for.

Had the BEST time here! Everyone working obviously takes a lot of pride in what they do and they are great at it! They nailed it with the very first dress I put on and had private rooms for my group to sit in so I didn’t have to walk back and forth all over the store. Also very reasonably priced compared to where the first place I went. Was definitely worth the drive from Chicago and would absolutely recommend to anyone!

This place has so much personality! Greta and her team were awesome. They not only helped me find a dress at the last minute after my initial dress plan fell through, but Greta conceived a beautiful alteration on the spot that made the dress unique and personal. Highly recommend.

I was referred to Gretas Bridal by a previous satisfied bride. However my experience from walking through the door was far from that. I was told they would schedule me a future appointment. But no one never came back. I got the feeling I, was not wanted there. An old ugly evil reared his head again! SKIN COLOR!! But the gowns were beautiful!

Greta was incredible! She went above and beyond to prepare my wedding dress and my (now) husbands suit. We made an appointment to have my dress steamed, but we brought in several additional suits/dresses the day of and she had no problem accommodating our request. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Anita is the sweetest! I phoned only to schedule an appointment but ended up finding the item I wanted on trunk show could be sent in for my fitting for a fee AND trying on a few more dresses. The selection is superb and I was pleasantly surprised by the inventory and pricing. Greta is so knowledgeable and having been in the area for 30+ years I trust her input. *NOTE it is a bit warm in there so summer brides or anyone that runs hot beware.

I had a good experience with Gretas Bridal. She was nice gave me what I asked for and I had that nice big fitting room to myself YAY! The only thing I would suggest is that the lay-a-way should be longer than 60 days. Overall my experience was fine. Thank you GretaUpdate 7-9-20 I came into a little bind. My car went out on me. I called Ms. Greta to see if shell work with me with extending my leeway away because I knew I wasnt going to be able to keep my schedule for payments. Great experience with Greta’s! My daughter lives in Michigan and I live in Louisiana. We found a picture of a dress on line that we both liked. I called about ten bridal shops trying to locate dress and no one could help! Greta went above and beyond and not only located the dress but had it sent to her shop for us! I was so nervous, anxious, and overwhelmed before walking in. I didnt have an appointment, but Anita was SO helpful and cheerful. She made the whole experience wonderful! She helped me find what I was looking for even though I didnt know what I was looking for. She even stayed within my price range. Highly recommend!

Anita is absolutely AMAZING. She was patient and kind. She picked out amazing dresses! The dress I chose actually was one she picked up for me! She can read your style so well its amazing. I will ALWAYS reccomend them. It was truly an amazing experience. They took the time to talk to you and explain the process of buying a dress! Even the alterations process. I found my visit to Gretas Bridal shop fairly good. As many others have mentioned, Greta does have somewhat of an attitude and can come off a little rude. I think thats one thing she needs to work on as a salesman.. to be nice and respectful to the customers and staff. She didnt come off too rude to me or my mom or the other customers while I was there, but she was being snippy to one of her employees that seemed to be somewhat new. Anyways, Greta cared about what I was looking for and did her best to find it. I had my heart set on a particular style, and she found one that was pretty close to it. Though instead of just deciding on it, I wanted to keep looking around. What I feared before going to a bridal shop was that I would feel pressured into buying a dress, but what I loved about Greta was that she wasnt pushy (unlike some other bridal shops I went to). I left that day knowing, if I couldnt find a dress somewhere else, I could always return and get that dress. She also continued looking for dresses with my style in mind, and even sent me pictures of it via email. I know every visit is different with various experiences and I know I didnt buy anything, but my visit overall was good.

Walked in without an appointment, got immediate help and I bought my dress the same day at a cheaper price!!! Would recommend Gretas to any lady out there getting married!! I also had a very private room and felt more comfortable trying on dresses!!

I had ms Anita for my dress hunting and she was great! Very attentive and great sense of humor which was a must with myself and crazy friends lol...and most of all the dress I chose was the first she picked for me after saying what I was looking for 😍...Greta was great at making sure my girls were taken care of with their dresses too!

Gretas has, by far, the best seamstresses in town. I had the pleasure of working with Galina for my wedding and every time I came in, it was an absolutely wonderful experience with her. When I brought my dress in I thought it was impossible to take in, because I had lost quite a bit of weight. Galina assured me that she could take it in and hem it, no problem. She did an absolutely wonderful job, beyond what I could have ever asked! My gown has lots of lace work on the bottom and you cant even tell that it was even hemmed. I cant wait to wear my gown! Thank you so much, Galina. I couldnt have asked for a better seamstress!

I have ordered 2 bridesmaids dresses from Gretas and had great experiences both times. Their staff is helpful, courteous and the dresses came in beautifully and in the time frame they gave me. They have so many beautiful options it was hard for us to decide which one to go with. We had 2 great experiences and will definitely come back in the future.

The first time I went in here, they asked me what my budget was, I gave them a lower-end budget just as a starting point. I started to look at dresses outside of the budget and they said: Sweety, those dresses are out of your price-range, you might want to come look over here at the dresses that you can afford. After that, their dresses did not appeal to me very much as they obviously knew what was best for my special day. I had to go back in about a year later to order a bridesmaid dress and the service has always been quick and forceful. Not a great place to find that special one.

My wife used Gretas for her bridesmaids dresses as they had the most competitive price. Unfortunately, we really regret picking them to provide the dresses due to the following reasons:1) We had SIX bridesmaids in the bridal party - all SIX had issues with the dresses. We were told that all SIX of the bridesmaids had their measurements change. Mind you, not the girls werent even remeasured when they came in for fitting so it seems like they werent measured correctly. Wed understand if one or two of the girls dresses had issues but not all SIX to be too small.2) Alterations were obviously required but the cost wasnt discussed until it was needed. Additionally, the person who did the alterations was only available on Tuesdays. In other words, not only was this an undiscussed expense for all of the bridesmaids, it was a terrible inconvenience for the girls that live a couple of hours away. They made it seem like they were going to cover the alternations since the girls were unable to order new dresses (or else the girls wouldnt have drove there), but in the end the girls had to drive a distance and pay another $100.3) They told a bridesmaid that she needed to lose weight to fit into the dress before the wedding. The same bridesmaid had asked to order an extra long dress due to being tall and needing that in the past. They refused, told the bridesmaid that she didnt need that. When the dress came in, it was too short, to which the staff replied, You lied about your height. This is ridiculous as this bridesmaid was a former collegiate athlete who was sure of her height and knew the modifications that were required but was ignored.4) Staff complained about a bridesmaid to another bridesmaid about her work schedule and how difficult it was to make an appointment (she worked nights). This is just stupid. Why would you speak poorly about another customer to a customer who knows them?5) One of our bridesmaid was told to talk to the bride and tell her not to leave us a bad review. When you recognize that you provided bad service, you do something to remedy that and not ask to avoid a bad review.Wed recommend to anyone to look elsewhere for their dresses even if its more expensive as this experience was a headache for all involved.

For the experience of the groomsmen for my buddies wedding, Gretas gets two stars. The jacket and pants fit excellently. The shirts however were far too big for every one of us. Mine was so large on the sleeves that, in a relaxed posture, the cuffs extended past my knuckles. When the jackets came off for dancing, we all looked like a band of renaissance performers with flamboyant dress shirts.When confronted on the matter, I was told that it was the job of these twenty-somethings to notice this when trying them on (which was insisted upon on a separate date) not the job of the professionals who measured us or saw to us while trying them on. After more fiat about how the shirts needed to be obnoxiously long for when flinging our arms around while dancing, I resolved that the woman I was speaking with would not see reason on the matter and thus I am here.One should note that the woman I spoke with was as polite as she could have been. It was clear she had no rudeness in her and she made it her goal to be as clear and concise as possible, while being patient with my incessant inquiries.

Bought my daughters formal dress at Gretas last week. Anita was extremely kind and helpful. Felt like the price was very good compared to other shops in the area. Will be back when its prom time!

They were Great! They really listened to what I was describing of what I wanted for my dress and they found me the perfect match and kept it in my budget! Wonderful group of people from the owner to the helper to the lady who did my alterations, they were all great 🙂

I walked in there to get some insight on bridesmaids dresses but didn’t expect to walk out having purchased my wedding dress! Kennedy was truly exceptional and made me feel at ease as it was my very first time trying on dresses! She was very knowledgeable and really listened to the things I liked and disliked! She’s well advanced for her years! Greta’s has a great selection for plussize brides like myself and I didnt feel at all overwhelmed by the whole experience! They were very patient and kind. We were able to find the dress that was perfect for my daughter.

I can understand why some women may have a hard time accepting the idea that they may be a larger size due to the European sizing...or think that ordering large is a scam to bring in revenue via alterations. Personally, I feel this just is not true. It really is common knowledge that taking a dress in is far easier than letting one out. As a customer, we have to bear in mind that this is not our expertise...but this is what the people at Gretas do for a living. I cant even begin to tell how amazing Gretas has been too me throughout this entire process. Dorothy was my consultant when I first came in. She was so patient with me, and was extremely thorough in the detail she provided. I have sensitive skin, and she even gave me tips on how to keep from getting irritated on my wedding day. I left without a dress that day, but with one in mind. A few weeks later, I returned and worked with Leah and Greta, and they both were equally as patient as I made my final decision. Their dress selection is incredible, and their knowledge of the product is incomparable. I will recommend Gretas to everyone I know!

If say yes to the dress type of experience you are looking for... you wont find it here. Its small crowded and dated. Not to discredit their capabilities of finding what you may need or looking for. At the end I didnt have the best experience with them. I didnt read my paper about bridesmaids dress being paid off in full by a certain date. It was the way I was being talked to didnt sit well. She became argumentative and very rude. I live in the next state over, so drive down in the winter hadnt crossed my mind. I was happy to pay for it and take care of my bill. The office manager wad just rude. When I got there today to pick up my dress... barely greeted, people walked on by. A young girl was coached in front of me on how to handle customers. To say it was the most unprofessional scene. A reviewer below mentioned the parking lot. I can see where it may be dark at night. Only 2 lamp posts, and a third spotlight I believe. Its a vast parking that backs up to railroad tracks. Today I had to ask for the pretty bag... Guess she thought I couldnt afford the $10 it cost. Wasnt offered, so I was going to carry a $300 dress out in plastic wrap? I didnt choose this place, it was chosen for me. I hope never to return.

The owner and employees were all very accommodating to our needs especially since we arrived without an appointment for a try on session. Kennedy assisted us with tons of beautiful bridal gowns to try on and was very knowledgeable and kind, we loved her! Weve been all over the South Bend/ Mishawaka area and Gretas has the most gowns to choose from so far. Overall, a very lovely shopping experience.

I meant to give this business 5 stars, but I hit the wrong star accidentally and I asked Google to bring back the review and it brought up another review. Anyway, Gretas is terrific. My sister and I stopped there with an hour left in their business day and no appointment. Greta waited on us. She was very helpful and kind. She made suggestions for colors and bridal etiquette. When we left my sister had ordered a mother of the groom dress and will have it back a month before the wedding. Plenty of time for alterations. Thanks Greta you made our experience very pleasant. Ive had nothing but a wonderful experience at Gretas. They can be quite busy at times, but I have always made an appointment & have had no issues with getting in on time. I have 5 bridesmaids that live out of town & they have had no issues with sizing or getting their dresses to them to be fitted. They have been quick to respond to my e-mails. Their selection out surpasses any in the area. Leah & Greta have both made my wedding dress experience wonderful.

I had a horrible experience beginning with my consultant leaving me in the general area for an extended period of time which resulted in a quarrel between consultants when another tried to help me. I felt pressured into a purchase and when I decided not to buy that day I had to pay $20 for being measured. In addition to all of this, I was told that the dress I wished to try on was in the store, but upon arriving I was told it had been sold. Interesting that I was not informed of this 20 minutes before when I spoke with a consultant over the phone. Generally disappointed in the level of professionalism and experience as a whole.

I love Gretas, Pat is and was my consultant. My husband and I are renewing our vows, I had a melt down with some of my bridesmaids and was going to cancel it but my husband convinced me to just postpone until September.I will be going back, these ladies were absolutely WONDERFUL. They were so patient with me, I changed my mind on them twice and they told me to take my time.Those of you who keep harping about your size BRIDAL SIZING IS DIFFERENT. Give it a rest, dont take it out on the consultant.Yes, Greta may come off a bit gruff but she knows what she is doing. And if you can in any way manage it make sure you get Pat she is great!

I had the worse dress fitting experience ever. This was my first time trying my wedding dress on since I bought it. I wore a strapless bra thinking itll look okay and the owner informed me that itll look terrible and I need to take it off. I was rushed to get into my dress because there was an appointment ahead of me. The seamstress name Galina was absolutely rude. She would yank me around when tying the back of my dress. She even hit me on the back ordering me to stand still and relax. She made comments about my wedding shoes being to low and I needed to get higher heels so my dress wont drag on the floor. Even my friends who accompany me to the appointment said she was unprofessional. I spent alot of money at Greta Bridal and this is how I was treated was unbelievable! I will not recommend Greta Bridal to any future brides. If you cant treat your customers with respect during these special moments in their lifes how can you be in business?

I loved the the lady who helped me picked out the dresses she was so nice and funny but the owner Greta i was not to happy with. First she took 2 dresses out of my room cuz they wouldnt fit me so i didnt get to try them on. She kept coming in interrupting between trying on dresses and was trying to get me took look at a wedding dress that I wasnt sure about and kept pushing it cuz she wanted the room free for another person. I did not walk out with a dress and Im honestly a little upset cuz it was my first time trying on wedding dresses.

I like to shop locally, and over 20 years Ive continued to attempt to use this business, but out of 8-10 tries for various family weddings, proms...My impression remains, including this week...snooty, rude and NOT for the average working class family. They shame you for looking at sale items, and CANNOT understand concept of browsing for ideas. If you arent willing to buy TODAY, they gently push you out of the store. IF they allowed us to browse, especially in the hidden sale room, that you have to ask permission to even get to, I probably would have made purchases over the years with having multiple daughters. But for me this far, 24 years: ZERO SALES!

I had a terrible experience working with Gretas Bridal. Wedding planning is already a stressful time and with Gretas Bridal waiting until the last DAY to order bridesmaid dresses before they would be too late, losing a check that had already been cashed (by them), over charging for a dress due to losing this check, and then blaming me for not receiving my email (because they did not look hard enough for my email), I would never recommend Gretas Bridal to anyone. Gretas Bridal is unorganized, they do not communicate well and they are unprofessional.

Don’t buy unless your absolutely sure. They will not refund your money. I wouldn’t shop there again.

I recently went to Gretas because it was the closest shop to my house that had Alfred Angelo dresses (which I love) and I was specifically interested in the Disney collection. Since I was looking for specific dresses I gave them the style numbers over the phone to make sure they had them and they told me yes they had all of them but when I got there they actually only had two of the five I wanted to try on (I would have never driven over an hour to go there if I had known that) I made an appointment which had to be on a Saturday afternoon because I go to school full time and live over an hour away but when I requested a Saturday appointment Greta kept trying to bully me into coming in during the week even going so far as to say You can skip a day of school...everyone does (I go to an accelerated tech school so missing just one day IS a big deal). I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early with my mother and my disabled grandmother but the shop was so packed we didnt know where to go, we tucked ourselves out of the way as best we could near the front desk...sales people kept rushing past us no one ever greeting us and at one point Greta pushed past me to get behind the desk instead of just asking me to step out of the way and never asked if she could help me or why I was even standing there. We waited for over a half hour and made several attempts to get the attention of anyone who worked there...eventually I began saying to my mother rather loudly that we should just leave that it wasnt worth our time and then Greta came over and snapped at me to be quiet and wait my turn that someone would be with me shortly and that I should have made an appointment. I replied kindly that I DID in fact have an appointment and she just brushed me off. Finally this timied little girl came over and said she would take us back to a room....on the way there she confessed to us that this was her second day working in the shop (poor thing). She did her best to help us but she had ABSOLUTELY NO idea what she was doing (and no one ever came in to check and see if she was okay)...every dress I tried on she didnt bother to zip or lace she just stood behind me and held it shut (no clips or anything)! Someone else on here said that the staff starting shutting off the lights before closing while they were still trying on dresses...it happened to me too! The whole place was poorly lit and rather dingy and shabby looking and the staff was completely absent minded and Greta was really rude! I left with nothing but a bad impression...I ended up getting the dress that I went to Gretas to try on in the first place at another shop (I paid a little more for it but I didnt care because I was never going back to Gretas again!). If you can help it avoid this shop at all costs it really isnt worth the hassle!
