If youre looking for that pasta, meat, cheese, or seafood that bigger chains dont carry, check this place out! Ive lived here five years and cant believe Ive only just discovered this market! Theyve been around for over 70 years, and the couple that owns it are some of the nicest people youll meet - quick to help, willing to offer suggestions, or just chat for a bit. Youre bound to find something new, or an old favorite to take home with you.

Everything about this place and is classic, it’s the ultimate high-end mom and pop shop! Talking with the owners is truly part of the fun — and if there is an old-time soda that you are missing they likely have it - pricey, but so worth it!

Amazing place! As an Italian living in South Bend, the wide variety of authentic Italian foods is incredible. Great selections of meats, cheese, pasta, and more! The employees are very friendly and helpful. I recently discovered this place, but I have already been back many times.

Simply put, the pictures says it all. Family owned. The couple that owns this place knows their store inside and out. Got a question about olives? Just ask and they will not steer you wrong. At least that is what they did for me.Wide selection of all things Italian and beyond. Lots of fresh produce. Wide selection of cheeses. And the pastries in the case look fantastic and smell out of this world.I will be coming back again soon.

Wonderful little neighborhood gem right next to the South Bend Farmers Market. They offer plenty of speciality, European food items you will never find anywhere else in town. Great wine and olive oil selections. Lots of people in the area, dont even know its there. The employees truly care about the products they offer and are always willing to help. Its always worth a peek inside just to see what they have. I never go home empty-handed.

Thanks to CNNs Stanley Tucci, Searching for Italy, then our local news highlighted this place, I never realized we had this store nearby for Italian cooking & supplies, I went this past weekend and fell in love with this place, my new indulgence, items for all budgets, spotless store, the racks, wine bottles, everything sparkles in this store, will return for sure.

Great speciality store. True Italian items. Mrs Bamber makes the Italian Sausage. We drive from Battle Creek (90 miles away) when we are planning on making Italian dishes just for the sausage !

Too expensive. Crazy expensive. Not sure if its a front or how they are able to stay open. No one can afford those food prices and there was like 6 people working there stocking shelves with me as the only customer on a weekend afternoon. Crazy

Great store to find your Italian food needs

Best specialty grocery in our area. Many items that aren’t carried by the bigger stores . Gene and Gini are incredibly friendly and helpful. Their breads and deli items are freshly made and delicious. If you’re making a Lasagna or any recipe that calls for Italian sausage, use theirs. I can’t recommend it more.

I loved the depth and variety of fresh, authentic Italian products. This is certainly a hidden gem in South Bend. There is even a little restaurant/cafe area where you may eat. I highly recommend. Salute!

Very nice itialn store

Ive gotten to the point where I simply cant make a Moscow mule without going first to Bambers. The selection of ginger beer is without peer, and the quality is unequivocally superior to anywhere else Ive seen it sold.That, and the fact that Gene has both heard of and knows where to order even the most obscure food items, makes this the coolest niche grocery store for hundreds of miles. They sell the BEST of everything, from bacon, butter, wine, beer, coffee, cheese, pasta, sauces, even ice cream and salt. 👍Dont forget to try Jodys Chicken pasta salad. Its a life-changing experience.

What a gem of a store! An amazing array Itallian culinary delights! So many fantastic choices of fresh and packaged building blocks for an itallisn dinner. Their own home made itallian dishes are wonderful for a quick grab and go dinner or lunch. Everyone is so friendly and offers to help with finding ingredients, a wine pairing or even with advice on making an itallian recipe for the first time. The store is sharply designed and clean as pins. Make it a weekly stopping point, especially if you are in the farmers market neighborhood!

Love this specialty grocery store. You can tell that everything is chosen and stocked with a great deal of care and attention. And dont forget to come in on Saturday mornings for fresh baked pastries including croissants.

I just wanted to see what the store offered. I didnt plan to buy anything but found pizza that is sized perfectly for two people and the best ravioli Ive ever had in the deli. Also found a small loaf of bread that was perfect to go with the ravioli. Bambers will be seeing me again and I plan to bring my daughter whose family loves Italian food!

This is my favorite, favorite supermarket. It is a treasure trove of delights.

When I needed to pick up some cheese, salami, crackers and dessert all made in Italy, there was only one place to go - Bambers Superette! Gene and Virginia were do helpful with the best recommendations. For our Italian friends, it was a home run.

Gene and Gini can always help you pick out that perfect bottle of wine to make any occasion extra special. The meatballs and lasagnas are fabulous and the Asian chicken salad is a long time favorite. This is the best spot for hostess gifts or just a little something to make any friends day a bit brighter or dinner much more exciting!

Best speciality food store in South Bend. Its mainly Italian specialities but they carry so much more. Its really important to support local and this family has been local for so long. Make sure you stop in and buy here instead of the big supermarkets!

Bambers has a fantastic selection of everything they carry! And Id theres anything you cant find, Gene is always able to order it in. The only place in town I was able to find good Roquefort cheese. Plus, they make fantastic cannolis.

This is a wonderful specialty food market with a great selection of hard-to-find imported meats, cheeses, olive oil and other products that foodies will appreciate.

We came here for the sodas. There are so many! Very cool. We had some of the parties from the bakery as well and they were delicious.

The BEST homemade bread EVER! Rosemary and sourdough are our favorites. Not to mention the homemade mini pumpkin pies... I could go on and on. But what really sets this establishment apart from any other store is the outstanding customer service. One of my daughters favorite thinngs to do is take a walk to go visit Bambers
