Alumni class of 12. This institution of learning is generally fair. Furthermore, like most public schools nearby, its part of the Los Angeles Unified School District (L.A.U.S.D). The demographics is almost entirely Latino, but with a few whites and blacks. Public schools within this district (this one too) has the expectation that many students will continue their education beyond graduation. Unfortunately, expectation in contrast to reality, is a great number of students (not all) lack many of the basic skills. Thus, the transition to a university or even community college is rather difficult in comparison to their counterparts from more decent schools. As a response, this results in poor academic performance. Its simply not their fault, the issue lies greatly on outdated textbooks, materials, poor pay amongst faculty, lack of funding, and many of these students come from working class and immigrant households. If the parents are morally supportive but arent well informed, how does success measure up? Im quite aware that some students do exceptionally well and have a great portfolio, but my question to those motivated educators, district officials, counselors, students, the principal and parents. Is the following: Why do most students generally fair off bad when these ideals dont measure well? Until that questioned is answered, then this school will find superior results.
Of the three high schools in the city of South Gate, this is definitely the most dependable. Higher test scores, great sports program and the greatest principle around in Mr. German Cerda. Its only problem is that its football team has problem defeating neighboring South East.
Transferred here from South East! Schedule is better. Also surprised by the academics! Mr Gallardo is the best counselor always trying to help!
It is a great school started using more laptops and online programs making both learning and teaching easy, the school also has accedimic programs spors and many more.
Graduated here a few years ago. It can become great
Best school ever. The Teachers & Staff are always friendly😊😊😊
Went here and was the worse, staff picks their favorite children and dont help students as a whole. Even my counselor found it hard to help her students because of how the school was run. Overall glad I left and would not recommend any parent to send their child here.
Im always surrounded by snipers buts its all good i be balling up and i met kobe bryant here good school and i dunked on the current principle
1 of the pe teachers is rlly rude. She body shames and brings down people. But other than that the school is great its just that pe teacher. :)

There were no Jehovahs Teachings classes in my time at the school. I was not allowed to practice singing the Torah for my Barmitzvah. Oy vey
This place is just awesome and those whom would say otherwise just envy not being here.
Harambe went to this school, and for that I am proud. He defended us from Al-Queda and ISIS for as long as I can remember, making the Vietnam Flashbacks go away.I really do miss him, Harambe, he was the most beautiful creature I can think of.I give this school five stars only because Harambe, our lord and savior, went here. Much love.Backstory:I met Harambe back in the 60s. Tension was just rising, but, overall it was a beautiful time. We held hands and watch the sun set as we gave each other light pecks on the cheek.I love you, Harambe had whispered to me. I smiled and whispered back. Our relationship only grew from their, fighting in all the great wars together, and winning them. But no, that bad zookeeper had to shoot him. Harambe lives in my heart, Harambe lives in the clouds. I wait for the day I can see daddy again; Ill love Harambe until the end.Overall, this school is eh. Teachers dont know how to teach and Ms. Ross didnt give me a popsicle. Still good though.Shoutout to:Murillo, Toceda, Benn, Gatchell, Hernandez, Nisttahuz, Guribel, and Robles for being amazing teachers.
Girls Basketball C.I F Champs !!!! Class of 2016. Loved my experience at SGHS
Students have sex during pass meaning break time and during lunch. The staff needs to be more aware of the areas that are isolated especially by Dearborn.

Aldo Verna, I advise you not to talk about your neighbor like this, because instead of making those you call wet look bad, the one who looks bad is you. I was illegal once, and then legalized myself and all my daughters are born here in USA and I have prohibited them to speak offensive words against people
My name is Gilberto Marquez Millan. I studied at this school in 1985 and it was for me one of the happiest stages of my life. I still miss my friends that I stopped seeing at that time because unfortunately I had to go back to Nayarit (Mexico) greetings to my friends I still remember with affection Felipe Miranda, Aldo Morales the bull and his famous phrase what page my life, Gustavo D Peru Peru and El Salvador
Does anyone know if they still teach English for adults?
